(The World That Never Was)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew entered the Grey Area and they saw Saïx and Axel talking. Curious as to what was going on, they walked in to join the conversation.
"The imposter has been sighted again." Saïx says
"Imposter?" Roxas asks
"You mean the one that Xion fought?" Draxon asks
Saïx looks at Draxon and Roxas.
"He's prowling about Castle Oblivion as we speak." Saïx says
"We'll go." Draxon says
"Even with the two of you and your pet, this target is extremely dangerous." Saïx warns
"Then how 'bout I tag along. I know Castle Oblivion better than anybody else in this outfit." Axel says
Saïx closes his eyes in thought, but he soon goes along with the idea.
"All right, better. Go, then, and teach this fraud the price for wearing our coat." Saïx says
After saying that, Saïx walks away. The three members and small Pokemon look toward each other.
"Castle Oblivion, huh? Well, ask and ye shall recieve." Axel says
(Castle Oblivion)
Draxon, Roxas, Axel, and Mew arrive at Castle Oblivion and they enter through the large double doors, walking into the entrance hall. Mew had never been to another castle before and it was very curious about the place.
"So, this is Castle Oblivion." Draxon says
"It seems interesting." Roxas says
Suddenly, Draxon and Roxas winced and they both held their heads in pain.
"Guys!?" Axel exclaims
"Mew!" Mew exclaims
"My... My head..." Draxon grunts
The two boys staggered onwards while Axel and Mew watched in shock.
"Easy, you two. C'mon, let's head back for now and-" Axel says
"We're fine!" Roxas grunts
"We have to find... Xion... Ngh..." Draxon grunts
Eventually, Draxon stumbled onto his knees while Roxas fell on all fours still holding his head with his left-hand.
"Gah!" Draxon cries out in pain
"Wh... What's happening...?" Roxas grunts
Axel knelt down to the two boys while Mew flew down infront of them.
"Roxas! Draxon!" Axel exclaims
"Mew!" Mew exclaims
"All these... pictures... rushing into my head..." Roxas grunts
"So many thoughts... flowing in... Gnh... all at once..." Draxon grunts
Axel picked up Roxas while Mew transformed into a Garchomp and picked up Draxon by moving it's head underneath his right-arm.
"We're leaving! Now!" Axel says
Axel opens up a dark corridor infront of them and both he and Garchomp walked towards it, hauling the two boys in tow.
"No, wait... There's something... I can... almost..." Roxas grunts
Soon, the four friends entered the dark corridor, leaving Castle Oblivion.
(Twilight Town)
"Giving up already? I thought you were stronger than that."
Roxas heard the voice and quickly sat upright, instantly waking up.
"Riku!" Roxas exclaims
Draxon woke up and sat upright, rubbing his head with his right-hand. The two boys looked around and saw that they were in Twilight Town inside the back alley. Infront of them was Axel and Mew, who had reverted back to it's original form.
"Draxon, Roxas, are you alright?" Axel asks concerned
"Yeah, but... what happened?" Draxon asks
"You both collapsed just as you entered the castle doors. Don't you remember?" Axel says
"I only remember going inside..." Roxas says
"Same here." Draxon says
Draxon and Roxas both got up on their feet while Axel and Mew watched them with concerned expressions.
"Just take it easy for now." Axel says
"We're alright, now. Let's head back to Castle Oblivion and continue the search." Draxon says
"Mew! Mew mew!" Mew protests
"Mew..." Draxon says
"Mew's right. You shouldn't push yourselves." Axel says
"But Xion... she's our friend." Draxon says
"She'll come around, eventually." Axel says
"What if Roxas and I disappeared, Axel? I'm sure you'd do the same for us." Draxon says
Axel said nothing and just looked down, rubbing the back of his head. Suddenly, he saw something in the corner of his eye.
"Who's there?" Axel asks alarmed
The four friends looked ahead of them and they saw two hooded figures. One was smaller and had it's face showing slightly, but the other was taller and it's hood was too dark to get a good look at the face. Draxon and Roxas stared at the smaller of the two figures and they could almost recognize Xion's face under the hood.
"Xion?!" Draxon and Roxas say in unsion
Xion stared back at the two boys, Draxon specifically, but said nothing and looked away. A dark corridor opened up behind the two figures and Xion walked inside.
"Xion, wait!" Draxon says
Draxon and Roxas ran for the dark corridor, but the other figure moved in and stood in their way.
"Out of our way!" Draxon yells
The dark corridor closed behind the hooded figure and he casually walked away, not saying a word.
"Hey!" Roxas yells
"Get back here!" Draxon yells
The two Keyblade Wielders went on ahead, pursuing the imposter into town.
"Draxon! Roxas!" Axel calls
"Mew!" Mew exclaims
Axel and Mew both rushed to catch up with their friends as they ran down the alley and into the underground tunnels.
(Moments later)
After chasing the imposter for several minutes through the tunnels, Draxon and Roxas saw him turn around the corner to a dead end, in which the path was barred off from the rest of the tunnel system. Just when they thought they had him cornered, the imposter disappears into a dark corridor and was gone.
"Dang it! He got away." Draxon curses
Axel and Mew eventually caught up with the two boys.
"I thought the imposter was sighted in Castle Oblivion." Axel pants
"Xion..." Draxon says
"Ain't no way that was Xion." Axel says
"The one who ran away first was Xion. But... why run?" Roxas says
Unknown to the quartet, Xion was hiding around the corner behind them. The other figure that Draxon and Roxas had been chasing was none other than Riku, who pulled back his hood as he spoke to Xion.
"You want to go back?" Riku asks
Xion looks down, remaining silent. She then looks back at her friends. The raven-haired girl didn't know what to do. A part of her wanted to go back, but there was still the truth to consider. Staying with Riku would help her to learn the truth behind her existence. All she could do now was watch as her friends disappear into a dark corridor.
(Moments later)
Draxon, Roxas, Axel, and Mew sat at the top of the clock tower, eating their ice cream while pondering over what had just occured.
"I don't understand. Why would Xion run from us? We're her friends." Draxon says
"At least we know she's safe. She'll come home when she's ready." Axel says
"But won't the Organization turn her into a Dusk?" Roxas asks
"Not necessarily." Axel says
"Who was that guy she was with? Why is she cooperating with him?" Draxon asks
Roxas, Axel, and Mew continued eating their ice cream, but Draxon barely took any bite out of his. After all that had just happened this day, he was completely confused. His mind was all full of questions. Who was the imposter? Why was Xion with him? And will she ever come back home?
~ Day 298 ~
Fracture
(The World That Never Was)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew were walking through the castle when they saw Axel and Saïx speaking with each other. Obviously from what they saw, it wasn't a pleasant conversation.
"You're ordering me to do what!?" Axel asks in shock
"Tell me what choice is left? Xion has had contact with the imposter. Things must be set straight." Saïx says
Saïx aw the two boys and small Pokemon approaching and he immediately walks away. Draxon, Roxas, and Mew watched Saïx eave, then they look over at Axel.
"Axel, what happened?" Draxon asks
Axel said nothing and just walked away. Draxon looks back at Roxas and Mew, then looks back at Axel as he continued walking.
(Moments later)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew came into the Grey Area and they saw Axel and Saïx talking again by the large window. Something was definitely up and they wanted to know. And so, the two boys and Pokemon went over and approached the two members.
"Xion has betrayed us." Saïx says
"What!?" Draxon and Roxas exclaim in unison
"Mew!?" Mew exclaims
"No way! That's absurd!" Draxon yells
"You saw the creature consorting with the imposter. What more evidence do we need?" Saïx says
"That can't be true! No one knows why she was with him!" Roxas yells
"I believe we all know, and you both don't want to accept it." Saïx says
"He might be forcing her! Against her will!" Draxon yells
"Spare me your repulsive displays of would-be sentiment." Saïx says
"Why is it such a crime to give each other the benefit of the doubt?" Draxon yells
"The imposter has resurfaced in Twilight Town. You will all head there and destroy him." Saïx says
"Rgrh." Roxas growls
"Axel, you bring Xion back. Gagged and tied up, for all I care. If that proves too troublesome, then you are authorized to adopt a more permanent solution." Saïx says
"What?!" Roxas gasps in shock
"Mew!" Mew exclaims in shock
"No!" Draxon gasps
"Get going." Saïx says
Saïx turns and walks away while Draxon, Roxas, and Mew glare at him with angry expressions.
"Well, this is pretty icky, huh?" Axel says
The trio glance back at Axel.
"You're not gonna go along with those orders, are you Axel?" Draxon asks
"Relax. I'll think of something clever once I find her." Axel says
"As long as it doesn't involve annihilating her." Draxon says
"You two just worry about yourselves, huh?" Axel says
"We know." Roxas says
(Twilight Town)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew stepped out of a dark corridor, arriving in the back alley in Twilight Town. They walked down the stairs to the sandlot and proceeded onwards into town, searching for the imposter.
"That was Xion yesterday... right?" Roxas asks
"Yeah. But none of this makes any sense. Why would Xion do this?" Draxon says
"Mew..." Mew says looking down
Suddenly, Mew saw something up on top of one of the buildings in the plaza.
"Mew!" Mew exclaims
Draxon and Roxas look towards Mew, then glance up at the rooftops above them and see a hooded figure staring down at them.
"Hey!" Draxon exclaims
The hooded figure turns and runs along the rooftops before jumping down to the streets, away from the trio.
"Wait!" Draxon exclaims
Giving chase, Draxon, Roxas, and Mew pursue the hooded figure through the streets.
(Moments later)
After chasing the figure through the town, they eventually reached a dead end in an alley. Seeing that there was no way out, the figure turns and saw Draxon, Roxas, and Mew approaching it. The figure pulls back it's hood, revealing herself as Xion, shocking and surprising the trio.
"Xion?!" Draxon exclaims in shock
"Where have you been? We've been looking all over for you?" Roxas asks
"You have? Sorry..." Xion apologizes
"Xion, come back with us. Let's go home." Draxon says
"If you come back with us now, Saix will let all this drop. He has to." Roxas says
Unknown to the quartet, Axel was hiding around the corner, leaning his back against the wall with his arms crossed and listening in on the conversation. Xion looked down at the ground, feeling hesitant.
"We don't care what he thinks of you. We'll be there for you. You know that. Me, Roxas, Axel, and Mew, we'll all make sure-" Draxon says
Draxon takes a step closer towards Xion, but she takes a step back, much to the trio's confusion.
"I... I really can't." Xion says
"Why not?" Roxas asks
"Xion, please!" Draxon begs
Draxon reaches his right-hand out for Xion, but she moves back further away. She then tries to run off.
"Wait!" Draxon says
Draxon grabs Xion's right-hand, stopping her. Then, Xion does something that no one would ever expect. She summons her Kingdom Key in her left-hand and points it straight at Draxon while he lets go of her hand with widened eyes and back away in shock. Even Roxas and Mew were disturbed by this behavior.
Suddenly, a chakram came flying in, heading straight for Xion, but she blocked it with her Keyblade. The chakram bounces off the Keyblade, hits the ground, and disappears in a flash of flames. Then, Axel walked in, approaching Xion.
"Well, hello there... Xion." Axel says
"Axel?" Roxas says
"What are you doing?!" Draxon asks in shock
Xion charged at Axel and swung her Keyblade at him, but he ducked down and summoned his chakrams into his hands. The two of them began fighting each other.
"Guys! Stop!" Draxon shouts
"Mew!" Mew exclaims
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew tried to stop the fighting between their friends, but it was no use. The fight between Xion and Axel went on for half a minute until Draxon spoke out in a loud voice.
"Stop!" Draxon shouts at the top of his lungs
Xion turned to Draxon in reaction to his voice. This distraction gave Axel the opportunity to hit Xion with a karate chop to the back of her head, knocking her out. The red-haired Nobody catches the unconscious Xion and lifts her up on his left-shoulder.
"Xion..." Draxon gasps
Axel looks over at the two boys and small Pokemon before disappearing into a dark corridor, leaving them alone in the alley.
"What just... happened?" Roxas asks
(The World That Never Was)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew exit out of a dark corridor, arriving back in the Castle That Never Was inside the Grey Area. There, they saw Axel in the room. Draxon marches angrily over to Axel while Roxas and Mew followed him over, demanding an explanation.
"Oh, hey, guys..." Axel greets sheepishly
"Where is she?" Draxon asks in an angry voice
"She's safe." Axel says
"Would care to explain what all that was?! How could you do that to her?!" Draxon asks
"Do what?" Axel asks
"Uh, the fighting? Are you freakin' kidding me, Axel?! Do you really think we're stupid?!" Draxon yells flabbergasted
"Axel, you didn't have to use force." Roxas says
"Didn't I?" Axel asks
"No... Of course not! We're supposed to be best friends!" Draxon says
"This isn't about friendship." Axel says
"Then what is this about, huh? What? What is this all about?!" Draxon asks
Axel rubs the back of his head and immediately dismisses the two boys.
"I gotta go." Axel says
Axel walks out of the room, leaving Draxon, Roxas, and Mew as they watch him go.
~ Day 299 ~
Devon and Sora
(The World That Never Was)
Axel met up with Saïx somewhere in the Castle That Never Was. Saïx had his back against the castle walls with his arms crossed while Axel stood nearby. The topic of the conversation was Xion.
"You sure things are better this way?" Axel asks
"I never expected you to question it. If you could save one of them... why would you choose the puppet?" Saïx asks
Axel wanted to say something, but he couldn't.
"Or put it this way. Which would suffer the loss of? Some make-believe friendship, or a real one?" Saïx asks
Axel looked away and just growled under his breath.
"Things are finally right again. Of course we're better off this way. Xemnas is exasperated from all the 'fixing' we had to do. We have to set things right." Saïx says
The blue-haired Nobody glances back at his fellow red-haired member.
"There is simply too much on the line... Lea." Saïx says
Axel says nothing and walks away while Saïx watches him go.
(Meanwhile)
Draxon and Roxas met up with Xemnas in Where Nothing Gathers, wanting some answers. Draxon and Roxas sat in their respective thrones while Xemnas sat up in the highest throne across from them. Mew was also with them, sitting in Draxon's lap.
"We need to know." Roxas says
"About what?" Xemnas asks
"Xion. Tell us what happened to her." Draxon says
"Xion is a valued member of the Organization, but she needs her rest. So worry not." Xemnas says
Suddenly, Draxon and Roxas gasped as a vision entered both their minds.
(Flashback)
On the shores of the Dark Margin, Xemnas walks up and passes by Draxon and Roxas, giving them both a pat on the shoulder. Xemnas looks at Roxas first on his right.
"Sora." Xemnas says
Then, he looks over at Draxon on his left.
"Devon." Xemnas says
Xemnas continues his walk while Draxon and Roxas stare at him.
(Present time)
"Sora..." Roxas says
"Devon..." Draxon says
"Mew?" Mew says
Xemnas said nothing and simply smirked as he heard the names of the two Keyblade Wielders.
"Who is Sora?" Roxas asks
"And who is Devon?" Draxon asks
"The connection." Xemnas says
"Connection?" Draxon and Roxas say confused
"They are what make you both and Xion a part of each other's lives. And the reason I placed Xion among our number. If you wish for her to stay that way, I must insist the two of you take your minds off these needless distractions. I will have Xion return to her duties tomorrow. Today, you both must focus on yours." Xemnas says
"Understood." Draxon says
(Moments later)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew walked through the castle, heading out for their mission when they ran into Axel on the way out.
"Hey, guys." Axel greets with a slight smile and a wave of his right-hand
Draxon and Roxas said nothing and simply kept on walking, moving past the red-haired Nobody. Mew stayed for a bit, staring at Axel for a moment, then went on ahead to catch up with the two boys.
(Meanwhile)
"Are you certain we've taken suitable measures with Xion, Roxas, and Draxon?" Saïx asks
"I will admit, Xion has strayed from our original designs. However, with this unpredictable behavior, we are also seeing an interesting side effect." Xemnas says
"Really?" Saïx says intrigued
"The Key. Xion was affected by Roxas and Draxon, just as anticipated. Her exposure to them is what caused the transfer of it's power. This was indeed what we had hoped to achieve... Had things stopped there, Xion would've been an unequivocal success. But then, through Roxas and Draxon, Sora and Devon themselves began to shape 'it' into 'her', giving Xion a sense of identity. Our plan seemed like a failure at this point. But then it occured to me. Xion is keeping Sora and Devon's memories trapped by claiming them as her own. Keeping her close to Roxas and Draxon will ultimately prevent Sora from ever awakening, and Devon from achieving his true potential." Xemnas says
"I see. And what of the imposter?" Saïx asks
"See that he stays away from Roxas and Draxon. He is merely an impurity that would make Xion's existence incomplete. That gadfly only poses a threat if his buzzing reaches Xion's ears." Xemnas says
"Then we are back on track. We shall return to our original plan." Saïx says
(Elsewhere)
In the Dark City, Riku stood at the top of Memory's Skyscraper with his arms crossed. He gazed down at the city below him, then looks over his right-shoulder at the Castle That Never Was.
(Meanwhile)
Xion was in her room, sitting on her bed in a fetal position.
"What am I supposed to do? Riku?" Xion asks
Xion gazes out the window, staring at the heart-shaped moon of Kingdom Hearts as it glowed with it's brilliant light.
(Kalos Region)
In Anistar City, the Kalos Champion, Diantha visits the Anistar Gym to see Lady Olympia. She had heard news of a crisis coming to Kalos and the rest of the Pokèmon World and decided to investigate.
"A Kalos disaster?" Diantha says
"What form it will take is not clear. But still, I thought it would be best to warn you, as the vision I had showed the swirling green and dark flames consume everyone and everything. It will affect people and Pokèmon alike throughout the world." Olympia says
"And you say Ash and his friends are somehow involved. I'd like to please ask you just one more thing. What is the deep green eye you saw?" Diantha says
"What I saw was this." Olympia says
Olympia spreads her arms out and projects an image above her.
"Behold!" Olympia says
Diantha looks up and saw the hazy image of a large Pokèmon.
This Pokèmon had a snake-like body, which was green on top half and a black bottom with five Pillar-like shapes on it's back, no arms or legs, two compound eyes with green shapes underneath them, and a flat tail.
The moment she saw the Pokémon, Diantha instantly recognized it.
"Could it be... Zygarde?!" Diantha says
The image of the Pokèmon disappears as Olympia shares more of her prediction.
"There is more you should know." Olympia says
"Huh?" Diantha says
"Aside from this crisis, there is a much greater danger. The darkness that threatened to consume the world. I fear it may return and it could very well be the source of this disaster." Olympia says
"You don't mean..." Diantha says
In that moment, Diantha remembers something that she saw many months ago.
(Flashback)
Diantha and her Gardevoir were in Lumiose City, enjoying a nice day at the same park where Draxon fought off against the Heartless. Diantha was wearing a disguise, which consisted of a black hat and dress, due to her incredible popularity as an actress and a champion of the Kalos region. The two of them were taking a stroll through the park when the sky suddenly darkened with black clouds blanketing the sky. Diantha and Gardevoir looked up in shock as the dark clouds flashed with dark blue lightning. They ran out of the park and headed for the outskirts of the city to get a better understanding of what was going on. There, they looked out into the distance and were horrified by what they saw. Far out in the distance, they saw the red pillar of darkness shooting up into the dark clouds from the Isle of Generations and the massive swirling vortex that appeared shortly afterwards.
"Come on, Gardevoir!" Diantha says
"Gardevoir!" Gardevoir says nodding it's head
Diantha and Gardevoir ran to the nearest Pokémon Center they could find to take shelter. There, they saw dozens of Trainers and their Pokèmon staring at the nearby television screen, which showed news footage of what was happening. Diantha and Gardevoir soon found themselves staring at the screen, watching the horrifying images of the darkness spreading throughout every region in the Pokèmon World, terrifying both humans and Pokèmon. They had never seen anything like this ever in their lives.
(Present time)
Diantha gasped in shock as she was snapped back into reality. The champion looks up at Olympia and asks her a question.
"What could do something like that?" Diantha asks
"The darkness that was unleashed at the time. It was much too powerful. No Pokèmon of this world is capable of harnessing such dark power. It is the work of an ancient, sinister evil. One that is not of this world or any other." Olympia says
Using her power, Olympia projects another image for Diantha to see. At first, there was darkness. But then, two glowing red eyes with slit-like pupils appear, shining through the darkness. Diantha gasped when she saw the evil luminous eyes. It was like they were piercing through her very soul. Then, the darkness around the eyes came together to form a ghostly body as the evil entity was revealed. What Diantha saw before her was a visage of the Dark Echo, which towered over her as a shadowy giant.
"What is that?" Diantha asks
"The one true evil. A being of pure darkness that seeks to conquer the entire Universe and claim dominion over all life, and is powerful enough to cause destruction on a cosmic scale." Olympia says
Diantha gasps in horror. Was there really a being that can destroy the entire Universe? If this was true, there had to be a way to stop it. Diantha grips her right-hand into a fist as she felt the determination to fight. Whoever this evil being was, there's no way that she would let it have it's way and enslave the Universe. She would fight to keep her world and all Pokèmon safe from this dark threat.
(Elsewhere)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew stepped out of a dark corridor and arrives in the Kalos Region. They stood along Route 19 and looked around. Their mission was Heartless Elimination.
"So this is Kalos, huh?" Roxas says
"Yep. This is the world where Mew is from." Draxon says
"Mew." Mew says
Draxon glances over at Roxas on his left.
"Let's go." Draxon says
"Right." Roxas says
And so, Draxon, Roxas, and Mew through the forest path, beginning their mission.
(Meanwhile)
On another part of Route 19, Ash and his newly evolved Greninja were training, doing a few stretches.
"Ready? Let's go!" Ash says
Ash and Greninja both took off running through the forest to improve their speed, dodging trees that stood in their way.
"It's hard to dodge anything when you're moving this fast." Ash says
Greninja quickly jumps to the right, dodging a tree.
"Oh, I get it. So that's how you dodge like that!" Ash says
Greninja then starts jumping from tree to tree.
"I can do that, too!" Ash says
Ash tries to do the same, jumping up on a tree and following Greninja's lead, but he slips off the tree limb and falls down on his backside. Greninja turns around and jumps down to it's Trainer. The frog-like Pokemon offers Ash it's finned right-hand and helps Ash back onto his feet.
"Hey, thanks. I need to do more of this. Then I can learn to control that power. Let's keep going." Ash says
"Greninja." Greninja says nodding in agreement
Ash and Greninja continue on with their running. In a clearing not far from them, Pikachu, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie were waiting for them. Squishy was looking out of Bonnie's bag while Dedenne sat on her head. Serena was holding Pikachu in her arms.
"They're taking such a long time..." Bonnie says
"Leave it to Ash to come up with a training strategy to become a Pokèmon." Clemont says
"Pika pika." PIkachu says in agreement
"Training hard is fine, but I really wish he wouldn't overdo it." Serena says
"Yay! They're back!" Bonnie says
The Pokèmon Heroes look on ahead and they saw Ash and Greninja running toward them. Greninja makes it back to the group first while Ash was lagging behind.
"And Greninja wins!" Bonnie says
"You can do it, Ash! Just a little more!" Serena cheers
Ash makes it back to the group, but he falls forward and collapses onto the ground exhausted.
"Ash comes in second!" Bonnie says
"Pikachu?" Pikachu says in a questioning tone
"I guess..." Ash says
Ash rolls over on his back.
"Oh, man. Greninja's too fast..." Ash says exhausted
Serena takes out a bottle of water and offers it to Ash.
"Ash, here." Serena says
"That's great. Thank you." Ash says
"So, Ash, does it feel like you're catching up to Greninja a little?" Clemont asks
"Yeah. I really think I am. Even though it's just a little bit at a time." Ash says
Suddenly, the group hear a loud explosion, which sounds off through the air, startling them.
"What was that?" Ash asks
Serena looks over to the left, away from the path that Ash and Greninja came.
"Sounds like it came from over there!" Serena says
The rest of the group follows Serena's gaze toward the direction of the noise. They soon saw a flash of light shine over the trees. Something was going down. Perhaps it was a battle. Was it between Pokèmon? Trainers? Or something else? Ash jumps up to his feet, wanting to investigate.
"C'mon! Let's check it out!" Ash says
Ash and his friends head off into the forest, following the sounds of battle. As they got closer, they could hear the clashing of swords and see more flashes of light. Soon, they reach another clearing and they were surprised by what they saw. Draxon, Roxas, and Mew were fighting a group of Shadow and Fluttering Heartless.
"Hey, it's Draxon!" Ash exclaims
"And Mew!" Serena exclaims
"But who's that with them?" Clemont asks
Draxon cuts down a Shadow infront of him with a right slash. Another Shadow sinks into the ground and emerges next to him from the left. Draxon notices this and quickly dispatches the Heartless with another right slash. A third Shadow approaches Draxon and takes a swipe at him with it's claws. Draxon jumps back and counters the attack with a rushing left spinning slash.
Mew conjures up a silver orb through it's afterimage using Ancient Power and hurls it at three Shadows, blasting them into oblivion. Four Flutterings fly up to Mew and flap their wings, launching dark purple feather blasts at it. Mew encases itself in it's pink barrier and shields itself from the feather blasts. Afterwards, Mew grabs hold of the Flutterings using Psychic and sends them flying into nearby trees.
Roxas charges through a Shadow with a strong thrusting strike, then takes down another Shadow with a roundhouse slash. A Shadow jumps at Roxas and swipes it's claws at him, but he leaps over to the right, dodging the attack, and strikes down the Heartless with a left slash.
Ash and his friends watched the two Keyblade Wielders fight and Clemont notices the Keyblade in Roxas' hand.
"Hey! He's got a Keyblade like Draxon!" Clemont exclaims
"Another Keyblade Wielder! Wow!" Ash says in awe
"Pika..." Pikachu says in awe
Roxas throws his Keyblade at a Fluttering, destroying it. One Fluttering charges at Roxas, spinning like a top. Roxas rolls over to the left, dodging the Heartless. He aims his Keyblade at the Fluttering and launches a fireball at it, shooting it down. Three Flutterings approach Roxas for an attack, but he raises his Keyblade in the air, summoning lightning bolts which strikes down on the Heartless, vaporizing them.
Draxon aims his crystal Keyblade at a flock of Flutterings and shoots blue light projectiles at them, destroying five of the Flutterings. One Fluttering launches a dark fireball at Draxon from it's maw, but he jumps over to the right and swings his Keyblade, launching a light blast at the Heartless. The light blast hits the Fluttering and detonates in a bright flash of light, effectively destroying it.
Six Flutterings began flying around in a circle above the Keyblade Wielder in a ring formation, grouping up for an attack. A dark blue orb appeared in the middle of the ring and began charging up with dark energy. The Heartless flew faster and faster and the ring got smaller and smaller, giving the dark blast more power as they prepared to fire. Within moments, the Flutterings launched four dark energy blasts at Draxon while he ran around, dodging the dark blasts as they trailed behind him.
Draxon raises Soul Calibur above his head and a light shines from the tip of the Keyblade. A large red and blue sphere appears in the air with smaller spheres of the same color rotating around it in a vortex of white energy. All of the remaining Shadows and Flutterings were sucked into the vortex, spinning around in the air. With the Heartless all brought together, Draxon leaps up into the vortex with his glowing crystal Keyblade and destroys them all at once with a quick spinning slash.
All of the Heartless were defeated and the area was peaceful. Draxon and Roxas both de-summoned their Keyblades and high-fived each other while Mew flew happily around them. They soon turned their attention to Ash and his friends as they approached them.
"Hey, Draxon!" Ash greets
"Pikachu!" Pikachu greets
"Hey, Ash! Hey, guys!" Draxon greets waving his right-hand
(Moments later)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew followed Ash and the others back to their camping spot and they took a moment to relax.
"It's so nice to see you again, Draxon." Serena says
"Thanks. How've you guys been?" Draxon says
"Well, we're still making our way to Snowbelle City. But we've had some adventures along the way." Ash says
"Gren." Greninja says
Draxon looks over at Greninja and he felt something familiar about it. Was it actually Frogadier?
"Hey, is that what I think it is?" Draxon says
"Oh yeah! Frogadier evolved into a Greninja. And it's real strong!" Ash says
"That's great! Congrats, Ash!" Draxon says
Ash and the others glance over and remembered Roxas being with Draxon and Mew.
"So, Draxon, is this one of your friends?" Serena asks
"Yep. He sure is." Draxon says
Roxas places his right-hand on his chest, introducing himself.
"Hi. I'm Roxas."
Ash and his friends smile upon meeting Roxas and they introduce themselves.
"My name's Ash."
Ash looks over at Pikachu, who was perched on his right-shoulder.
"This is my partner, Pikachu." Ash introduces
"Pika Pikachu!" Pikachu says
"I'm Serena."
"My name's Clemont."
"Hi, Roxas! My name is Bonnie."
Bonnie looks up at Dedenne, who sat on her head.
"This is Dedenne." Bonnie introduces
"Denene!" Dedenne says
Squishy pops up out of Bonnie's bag, showing itself to Roxas.
"And this is Squishy." Bonnie introduces
"It's nice to meet you all." Roxas says
"We saw you using a Keyblade when you were fighting those Heartless. That must mean you're a Keyblade Wielder, right?" Serena asks
"Yep. Both me and Draxon." Roxas says nodding his head
"Man, watching the two of you and Mew fight together. You guys were unstoppable." Ash says
"Oh, by the way, we heard that a friend of yours went missing. Uh... Draxon told us her name was Xion." Clemont says
"Yeah. That's right." Roxas says
"Did you find her?" Ash asks
"Yes. We did." Draxon says
Ash and his friends were glad that Draxon and Roxas were able to find their friend.
"That's wonderful!" Serena says
"How was she? Was Xion alright when you found her?" Bonnie asks
Draxon and Roxas shared glances with each other. They didn't want to explain the real details of how Xion was brought back into the Organization, so they made a white lie.
"Well, she kinda had a bad run-in with some Heartless." Draxon says
Upon hearing that, Ash and the others gasped in shock.
"What?" Ash says
"Oh no!" Serena gasps
"It's okay, though. She's safe and resting." Draxon says
The Pokèmon Heroes let out a sigh of relief.
"Oh, well that's good." Clemont says
"At least you found her." Serena says
"Yeah. She did put us on quite a search." Draxon says
"It would be nice if we could meet her." Ash says
"Maybe some other time." Draxon says
Suddenly, a helicoper flies overhead, catching the group's attention.
"Huh? What's that?" Ash asks
The wind from the rotors of the helicopter forced the heroes to shield themselves. Inside the chopper was Diantha and her assistant, Kathi.
"Are you certain that those are the ones?" The pilot asks
"Yes." Diantha says
"Alright. I'll take us down." The pilot says
Diantha gets up from her seat and goes up to the door of the helicopter.
"We've got a commercial to shoot right after this, so take care, okay? Don't hurt yourself, please!" Kathi says
Diantha slides open the door, causing air to rush in.
"Our altitude is low enough. Pick me up later!" Diantha says
"All right, Diantha!" Kathi says
Diantha exits the helicopter and ropes down to the ground.
"No problem whatsoever." Diantha says
Diantha turns and looks over at the heroes.
"Long time no see." Diantha says
"Diantha!" Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie exclaim in unison
"Don't forget to be careful and stay in one piece!" Kathi says
Having dropped Diantha off, the helicopter flies away.
"Diantha, what are you doing here?" Ash asks
"Is everything alright?" Clemont asks
"I just heard Olympia's prediction. So I dropped in to see all of you..." Diantha says
Diantha notices Draxon, Roxas, and Mew standing with Ash and the others.
"Oh, I take it you must be Draxon." Diantha says
"That's right. And you're name's Diantha?" Draxon says
"Yep. And I'm the Kalos League Champion." Diantha says
"Champion, huh?" Draxon says
Draxon smiles and shakes hands with Diantha.
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Diantha." Draxon says
"You know, I heard what you did back in Lumiose City, fighting off all those Heartless and saving the people and Pokèmon there. And I heard you helped Alexa and Viola in Santalune City. You must be someone incredibly strong to take on all those dark creatures by yourself." Diantha says
"Well, I kinda had Prof. Sycamore's help. So I can't really take all the credit." Draxon says shrugging his shoulders
Mew flies up to Diantha, introducing itself to her.
"Mew!" Mew says
Diantha looks at Mew and was the least bit surprised to see it.
"I also heard that Mew is your Pokemon partner. It must see something real special in you, Draxon. You're a real lucky guy." Diantha says
Diantha glances over at Roxas, taking notice of him.
"And who's this?" Diantha asks
"Oh, this is my best friend, Roxas." Draxon introduces
"Hi." Roxas greets
Diantha smiles and nods her head to Roxas.
From the nearby brush, unknown to the group, Jessie, James, and Meowth were spying on them. James was observing them through a pair of binoculars while wearing some headphones and holding a parabolic microphone. Meowth was with him with some headphones on his ears as well.
"We follow the Twerps and whom do we find?" James says
"None other than Kalos League Champion and famous movie superstar, the lovely and talented Diantha!" Meowth says
Jessie giggles behind them, causing James and Meowth to look back at her.
"Such popularity! Beauty. Incredible acting ability! But compared to me, it's teensy! Not even worthy competing against!" Jessie says
Jessie saw that James and Meowth were staring at her with awkward expressions.
"Got a problem with that?" Jessie asks
"Wobb!" Wobbafett says not denying with it's Trainer
The Team Rocket Trio focus back on the group as they listened in to their conversation.
"You mean the Kalos crisis?" Clemont asks
"Right. I started research on everything I could find." Diantha says
Diantha takes out a tablet and presents it to the group.
"Look." Diantha says
The tablet shows the heroes an image of an island, which was bustling with life, and was now corrupted by a giant tree.
"Huh? What is that?" Serena asks
"It's an island. Once teeming with nature." Diantha says
"Are you sure?" Ash asks
"Yes. And it's not the only one. This is happening all over the Kalos Region." Diantha says
"But what could it be?" Clemont asks
"So far, we're not entirely sure. But if this phenomenon is the crisis Olympia mentioned in her prediction, then Zygarde may already be on the move." Diantha says
"Zygarde?" Ash asks
"It's a Pokèmon." Diantha says
Team Rocket also saw the image of Zygarde and they remember seeing something similar a while back.
"Could that be...?" Jessie says
(Flashback)
The Pokèmon Heroes encoutered a villainous group called Team Flare a couple times during their journey thus far. Their last encounter involved them trying to take control of a Pokèmon that looked almost exactly like Zygarde. Even Team Rocket was there at the scene.
(Present time)
"The one that those goons with the goofy eyewear wanted!" James says
"Yeah." Jessie and Meowth say in unison
Diantha continued on with her explanation on Zygarde.
"Zygarde, the Order Pokémon. They say it lives deep in caves. And when there's a crisis, Zygarde appears with a mission. A mission to protect the entire Kalos region." Diantha says
"Wow, the whole Kalos region..." Ash says in awe
"That's Zygarde..." Serena says in awe
"Of course! The crisis!" Clemont says
(Flashback)
The group remembers their visit in Anistar City as Olympia shared her prediction with them.
"I saw a disaster approaching soon. And your fates are all connected to that threat."
(Present time)
"She said somehow we're all involved." Clemont says
"That's right. Olympia also mentioned of a being of pure darkness. A shadowy wraith of pure evil." Diantha says
"Yeah. That's right." Draxon says
(Flashback)
The heroes remember full well their encounter with the Dark Echo back in Lumiose City. It's dark power was unimaginable. And the fight against it was incredibly tough. None of them had ever seen a more powerful entity as this. And they were lucky enough to have survived the ordeal.
(Present time)
"I was concerned, so I came to see you. I'm wondering, has anything odd been going on lately?" Diantha says
Ash and his friends shared glances with each other in a questioning manner. Then, Bonnie spoke up.
"That's it! Ash's Greninja does something amazing!" Bonnie says
"Huh?" Diantha says
(Moments later)
Ash and the others explained what Greninja was capable of. Recently, Ash and Greninja were able to form a powerful bond with each other. Though, they had hardly little ways of controlling it. Diantha was surprised to hear this. Even Draxon, Roxas, and Mew were surprised.
"That really happened?" Diantha asks
"Olympia mentioned it as well." Clemont says
"Greninja and Ash..." Diantha says in her thoughts
If what the group said was true, then she had to see this bond for herself. And so, she would challenge Ash to a battle.
"So Ash? Do you think you could show me?" Diantha asks
"Huh?" Ash says
Diantha takes out a Pokèball and releases her Pokèmon, Gardevoir.
"Gardevoir."
"Let's battle. You and Greninja against me and Gardevoir. I want to see what Greninja can do with my very own eyes." Diantha says
"Okay, you're on! I'd jump at the chance to battle with you, Diantha!" Ash says excited
Ash looks over at Greninja on his left.
"Let's show her what we can do, 'kay?" Ash says
"Pika pika!" Pikachu says excited
"Ja!" Greninja says in agreement
Draxon smiles as he was actually gonna experience a battle between Ash and the Kalos League Champion. This would also be a first time for Roxas, too.
"Get ready, Roxas. This is gonna be the first Pokèmon battle you'll ever experience." Draxon says
"It sure sounds fun. I can't wait." Roxas says
Seeing that the Ash and Diantha were going to have a battle, Team Rocket starts to formulate a plan.
"This could be good for us." James says
"If we get an opening, we can snatch up that magnificent Mega-Evolving Gardevoir!" Meowth says
"She'll never be as good as I am, so we'll just have to hope those two lightweights can put up a heavyweight brawl!" Jessie says
"Right. Beating them should be a piece of cake." James groans sarcastically
"Hope it's got frosting." Meowth groans sarcastically
"Wobbafett!" Wobbafett says
Ash, Greninja, Diantha, and Gardevoir take their positions while Draxon, Roxas, Mew, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie watch from the sidelines. Clemont was setting up one of his gadgets, which Diantha took notice. Ash had a specialized bracelet on his right-wrist that was synchronized to Clemont's gadget. Even Greninja was wearing a similar bracelet.
"Oh, what's that, Ash?" Diantha asks
"Clemont's new invention." Ash says
"It's a battle pulse meter and it tells how closely Ash and Greninja are synchronized. Those measurements are then sent to my Clembot Mini, who converts them into a hologram." Clemont says
The Clembot Mini projects a hologram through it's eye lenses, showing an image of Ash and Greninja as well as their pulses.
"By watching the red and blue waveforms, we are then able to observe Ash and Greninja's changes in real time!" Clemont says
"I'm impressed." Diantha says intrigued
Before the battle started, Ash looks over at Greninja.
"Greninja? The last time I battled against Diantha, Team Rocket messed things up before her Gardevoir Mega Evolved! But we've done an awful lot of battling since then! This time, we'll win!" Ash says
"Gren!" Greninja says in agreement
"We're all ready to go, Diantha!" Ash says
"Great!" Diantha says
And so, the battle between Ash and Diantha began.
"Ash, you have the honor!" Diantha says
"'Kay! Greninja, use Cut!" Ash commands
Greninja charges at Gardevoir with a glowing white blade in it's right-hand.
"Gre... nin..."
Diantha nods and Gardevoir nods in response without even looking back.
"...ja!"
Gardevoir leaps back and dodges Greninja's attack without even a command from Diantha.
"That's incredible!" Clemont says
"They can communicate using just their eyes!" Serena says amazed
"Pika." Pikachu says
"Seems like Diantha's got a real connection with her Gardevoir." Draxon says
"Water Shuriken!" Ash commands
Greninja conjures up two Water Shurikens in it's hands, leaps up into the air, and hurls them down at Gardevoir.
"Nin... Ja! Ja!"
The water shurikens came flying at Gardevoir, but the humanoid Pokemon performs a cartwheel, dodging both projectiles.
"Use cut and don't stop!" Ash commands
Greninja comes at Gardevoir and tries to slash it multiple times, but Gardevoir constantly dodges it's attack.
"Now Aerial Ace!" Ash commands
Greninja runs around Gardevoir in an attempt to confuse it, but Gardevoir just stood calm and still. Eventually, Greninja leaps at Gardevoir with it's right-hand glowing with a blue light. Again, Gardevoir evades the attack, even though Aerial Ace never misses.
"It dodged everything! This is just like before... Gardevoir's too fast. We can't get in there!" Ash says
Ash had battled Diantha before and he was afraid that this battle will end up like last time with Pikachu.
"Pikachu." Pikachu says worried
"Diantha's just so tough." Serena says
"She's the Champion. They're not taking any damage without a real fight." Clemont says
"Ash has gotten into tough scraps before. And he's always managed to pull through." Draxon says
"You can do it, Ash!" Bonnie cheers
"Denene!" Dedenne cheers
"Pika pika!" Pikachu cheers
Diantha stared at Greninja, impressed with it's training thus far, but she had yet to see what it was really capable of.
"Greninja's been trained well, but I don't sense any difference from other Greninja. Now it's our turn." Diantha thought to herself
Continuing on with the battle, Diantha made her next move.
"Shadow Ball, let's go!" Diantha commands
"Gardevoir!"
Gardevoir began conjuring up a dark orb in it's hands as it readied it's attack.
"It moved!" Serena says
"Pika!" Pikachu warns
"Quick, Greninja, use Double Team!" Ash commands
Greninja creates multiple copies of itself throughout the battlefield. Gardevoir hurls it's Shadow Ball at one of the clones and hits it, but the real Greninja was still hidden.
"All right!" Ash says
"Use Shadow Ball and sweep them away quickly!" Diantha commands
"Voir!"
Gardevoir launches more Shadow Balls, destroying all the Greninja clones, and hits the real Greninja. The frog-like Pokèmon was sent flying backwards towards Ash's side, but Greninja lands safely crouched down.
"Greninja, are you okay?" Ash asks concerned
"Gren!" Greninja says in an affirmative tone
"Yeah, that's the spirit!" Ash says
Clemont observes the readings on his Clembot Mini. No changes were made yet.
"No change to the waves." Clemont says
"Use Water Shuriken over and over!" Ash commands
Greninja leaps up into the air and hurls three Water Shuriken down at Gardevoir.
"Gre-e-e-ninja!"
Gardevoir moves from side to side, dodging the attacks.
"They saw it coming..." Ash grunts in his thoughts
"Now, Moonblast!" Diantha commands
"Gardevoir!"
Gardevoir glows with a bright white light, conjures up a pink orb of light in it's hands, then hurls it straight at Greninja.
"Dodge it!" Ash commands
Greninja backflips away to dodge the Moonblast, but the explosion sent the frog-like Pokémon flying into a tree.
"Greninja!" Ash cries out
Ash rushes over to Greninja as it falls to the ground.
"Can you go on?" Ash asks concerned
Greninja rises back up on it's feet and nods at it's Trainer.
"Gren!" Greninja says in an affirmative tone
Ash glances back at Diantha and Gardevoir. He had seen thus far that the two of them communicate in dodging their attacks through their eyes. But if they could somehow keep them blind to their moves...
"Okay. I've got an idea." Ash says
"Gren!" Greninja says in acknowledgement
"All right, Greninja! Use Water Shuriken!" Ash commands
Greninja charges at Gardevoir and leaps up into the air, conjuring up Water Shurikens in it's hands. Within moment, it hurls it's Water Shurikens down at Gardevoir.
"Nin-ja!"
Gardevoir dodges two of the Water Shurikens, shifting from side to side. The impact from projectiles kicked up a cloud of smoke. A third Water Shuriken flies through the smoke, startling Gardevoir. The humanoid Pokèmon quickly leans it's body to the right, barely dodging the attack,
"Use Cut! Do it now!" Ash commands
While Gardevoir was distracted, Greninja flies in and immediately uses Cut, striking Gardevoir, surprising Diantha.
"Way to go, Greninja!" Ash says
Clemont observes the readings on his Clembot Mini and notices that Ash and Greninja's pulses were synchronizing.
"It's moving!" Clemont says
"That was a good move." Diantha says impressed
"Gardevoir." Gardevoir says also impressed
"Stronger and stronger! Here goes!" Ash says feeling determined
"Greninja!" Greninja says also determined
In that moment, a pillar of water envelopes Greninja as it transforms itself, becoming Ash-Greninja. Greninja jumps high into the air and the pillar of water dissipates.
"Would you look at that!" Jessie, James, and Meowth say in unison
"Man! That's some kind of crazy Twerp-fusion!" Meowth says
Greninja touches down on the ground now covered in a water torrent veil. Draxon and Roxas were both surprised by what they saw.
"Whoa!" Roxas says surprised
"What the heck?!" Draxon says surprised
"Diantha, you see this? It's starting to happen now! Check it out!" Ash says
Diantha was indeed startled by what she had just saw. She could now see why this Greninja was so unique.
"I was wrong. I never seen a Greninja like this before." Diantha says
"Use Cut!" Ash commands
Greninja darts across the battlefield, summoning two white kunai blades in it's hands as it prepared to strike.
"Gre-nin!"
"Shadow Ball, go!" Diantha commands
Gardevoir conjures up a Shadow Ball in it's hands and holds it up in defense.
"Gar-devoir!"
"Ja!"
Greninja takes a slash at Gardevoir, but was countered by Shadow Ball. Gardevoir was sent sliding back across the ground, still standing.
"If that makes contact, it's over for sure. Ash and his friends always a surprise but could that Greninja really be part of Olympia's prediction? This battle will hopefully answer that." Diantha thought to herself
The battle proceeds as Diantha makes her move.
"Shadow Ball again!" Diantha commands
"Gardevoir!"
Gardevoir conjures up another Shadow Ball and hurls it at Greninja.
"Use Water Shuriken!" Ash commands
Greninja flies forward and launches a Water Shuriken at the Shadow Ball. Both attacks cancel each other out, creating a cloud of smoke. Greninja continues flying through the smoke, making it's way towards Gardevoir.
"Now use Cut!" Ash commands
"Ninja!"
Greninja leaps up into the air, summoning it's kunai blades again.
"Quick! Dodge it!" Diantha commands
Greninja descends down on Gardevoir and swings it's blades at it.
"Ja! Ja! Ja! Ja!"
Gardevoir quickly dodges Greninja's strikes, but eventually Greninja catches up and lands a blow to Gardevoir, surprising Diantha once more.
"Greninja sure is fast!" Serena says
"Fast as Gardevoir!" Bonnie says
"Pika pika!" Pikachu cheers excitingly
"Now we're really gonna bring it! Use Aerial Ace!" Ash commands
Greninja runs at full speed across the field, quickly closing in on Gardevoir.
"Ni-i-i-i-i-n!"
Diantha grabs hold of her Key Stone on her necklace and activates it's power.
"Gardevoir! Mega Evolve!" Diantha says
Both the Key Stone and the Gardevoirite around Gardevoir's neck begin to shine with a bright light. Gardevoir is enveloped in a blue-purple light as it mega evolves.
"Gardevoir!"
"Ja!"
Greninja strikes Gardevoir just as it transforms, but the mega evolution immediately stops Greninja's attack, sending it back.
"It finally mega evolved!" Ash exclaims
"Diantha and Gardevoir are really feeling the pressure now!" Serena says
"Pikachu!" Pikachu says excited
"Greninja, way to go!" Bonnie cheers
"Denene!" Dedenne says excited
"Okay. This battle's just getting started! The stronger our opponents are, the stronger we get! Yeah!" Ash says
"Ja!" Greninja says in an affirmative tone
"Water Shuriken!" Ash commands
Greninja conjures up a Water Shuriken and hurls it forward at Mega Gardevoir.
"Use Shadow Ball!" Diantha commands
Mega Gardevoir conjures up a Shadow Ball and hurls it at Greninja.
"Gar-devoir!"
Both the Water Shuriken and Shadow Ball clash with powerful force and they cancel each other out in a big explosion.
"Use Aerial Ace! Ramp it up!" Ash commands
Greninja leaps up into the air and dives down on Mega Gardevoir.
"Ni-i-i-n!"
"Reflect, go!" Diantha commands
Mega Gardevoir holds up it's hands, generating a light blue barrier of light which shields it from Greninja's attack, sending it back.
"So fast!" Bonnie says
"They almost got in there!" Serena says
"Pika pika!" Pikachu yells frustrated
"Now Greninja's starting to push back!" Clemont says
"Faster. Faster!" Ash commands
"Gren!"
Greninja runs across the battlefield as it pushes on the attack while Clemont continues observing the readings on his Clembot Mini.
"These are the strongest yet!" Clemont says
"Double Team, let's go!" Ash commands
While Greninja uses Double Team, Clemont notices the waves of the pulses are getting stranger.
"What's going on? This is incredible!" Clemont says
"Now, Greninja, use Cut!" Ash commands
All the Greninja clones leaps up into the air and fly toward Mega Gardevoir.
"Reflect, go!" Diantha commands
Mega Gardevoir uses Reflect again to counter Greninja's Cut, but the combined power of the Greninja clones made the humanoid Pokemon stagger back a bit.
"Shadow Ball, let's go!" Diantha commands
Mega Gardevoir conjures up yet another Shadow Ball and hurls it at Greninja.
"Gar-devoir!"
"Use Aerial Ace!" Ash commands
Greninja flies forward across the field, moving at incredible speeds.
"Gre-ninja!"
Greninja kicks away the Shadow Ball, and continues moving towards Mega Gardevoir. The battle between Ash and Diantha got so intense that Ash urges Greninja to grow stronger.
"Stronger. Stronger!" Ash yells
"Ja!" Greninja yells
Suddenly, Greninja's water aura disappears, as it grows a pair of blue water wings, which transforms into a Giant Blue Shiruken, surprising everyone.
"Greninja, Water Shuriken, now!" Ash commands
Greninja descends down on Mega Gardevoir and hurls it's Water Shuriken.
"All right, Shadow Ball!" Diantha commands
"Gar-r-r-devoir!"
Mega Gardevoir launches a Shadow Ball to counter the attack. The two projectiles clash in a power struggle, neither one backing down.
"Let's go!" Ash yells
Eventually, Greninja's Water Shuriken slices through the Shadow Ball and hits Mega Gardevoir, sending it flying backwards and injuring it badly.
"Gardevoir!" Diantha cries out
Now that Mega Gardevoir was down, Ash urges Greninja to press on the attack.
"Greninja! Stronger!" Ash yells
Suddenly, Ash and Greninja snap out of their moment, and collapse from exhaustion. Clemont observes the readings on the Clembot Mini and notices that their pulses are not synchronized anymore.
"What's wrong with Ash?!" Diantha asks worried
"Pika!" Pikachu cries out worried
"Ash!" Draxon, Roxas, and Serena cry out in unison
Draxon, Roxas, Mew, Pikachu, and Serena rush over to Ash extremely worried. Diantha goes to check on Ash as well. Mega Gardevoir was about to follow when a cube-like device latches onto it's body, coiling it in a bright rope. This caused everyone to shift their gaze at Mega Gardevoir. Then, Team Rocket's hot air balloon rises up over the trees of the forest, catching the group's attention.
"Now what's going on?" Diantha asks
"Prepare for trouble, now what but who!" Jessie says
"And make it double, our eyes are on you!" James says
"To protect the world from devastation!" Jessie says
"To unite all people within our nation!" James says
"To denounce the evils of too much power!" Jessie says
"To extend our reach to our finest hour!" James says
"Jessie!"
"And James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!" Jessie says
"Surrender now or prepare for a scene-stealing fight!" James says
"Meowth, that's right!" Meowth says
"Wobbafett!" Wobbafett says
"Team Rocket!" Serena exclaims
"Them again?!" Draxon exclaims
"Huh? Who's Team Rocket?" Roxas asks
"They're criminals that steal Pokèmon from their Trainers. Apparently, Ash and his friends had a lot of run-ins with them." Draxon explains
"You always show up at the wrong time!" Bonnie says
"The wrong time for you is the right time for us!" James says
"Listen up, Ms. Diva Diantha. Let a real actress take that Mega Gardevoir off your haughty hands!" Jessie says
"I've got a mega-strong rope all ready to keep that Mega Gardevoir up for years!" Meowth says
"Guaranteed to withstand any attack, Mega or otherwise!" James says
Diantha looks back at Draxon, Roxas, and the others.
"You all take care of Ash! I'll take care of this!" Diantha says
"Right!" Draxon, Roxas, Serena, and Clemont say in unison
Diantha turns back and faces Team Rocket.
"Don't you dare underestimate my Gardevoir! Now, Gardevoir, full power!" Diantha says
Gardevoir begins charging up with power as it glows with a bright light.
"Gar-r-r-r..."
Team Rocket saw this and just laughed.
"A tone-deaf waste of time!" Jessie chuckles
"...voir!"
Using it's full power, Mega Gardevoir destroys the rope, shocking Team Rocket.
"Perhaps we scoffed too soon!" Jessie, James, and Meowth say shocked in unison
"Incredible." Clemont says
"Shadow Ball, go!" Diantha commands
"Gardevoir!"
Mega Gardevoir conjures up a Shadow Ball and hurls it up at Team Rocket, destroying their Meowth Hot Air Balloon and sending them flying.
"Enough acting for one day!" Jessie screams
"Up, up, and away!" Jessie, James, and Meowth scream in unison
"Wobbafett!" Wobbafett says
And so, Team Rocket disappears into the distance with their trademark twinkle in the sky.
Mega Gardevoir shifts back into its original form and falls down on it's knees tired from using so much of it's power.
"Gardevoir..." Gardevoir says exhausted
"Gardevoir!" Diantha exclaims
Diantha rushes over to Gardevoir and catches it in her arms.
"You've got to be exhausted. Take a good rest!" Diantha says
Diantha beams Gardevoir back in its Pokèball. Ash awakens from unconsciousness and sits upright.
"Where's Greninja?" Ash asks
Ash looks over to his right and saw that Greninja had reverted back to it's original form.
"Are you alright?" Ash asks concerned
"Gren!" Greninja says in an affirmative tone
"That's a relief!" Ash says
Diantha heads over to the group and checks up on Ash.
"Ash, are you alright?" Diantha asks
"Yeah!" Ash says
Ash tries to stand up, but nearly falls back down. Draxon steps in and helps him up by placing Ash's left-arm up around his shoulders.
"I got'cha." Draxon says
"Thanks, Draxon." Ash says
Ash looks over at Greninja.
"Guess I passed out again..." Ash says
"Gren." Greninja says
Despite fainting from exhaustion, Ash felt that he and Greninja made some great progress on their training.
"Wow. Today's battle was the greatest ever. We were really in sync, were we?" Ash says
"Ninja." Greninja says nodding it's head
"We need to remember how that felt. Okay?" Ash says
"Ja!" Greninja says
"Wait. This has happened before?" Draxon asks
"Yeah." Ash says
Suddenly, Serena notices something in the corner of her eye and she gasps in shock.
"Look!" Serena exclaims
The group look on ahead and they see a large pool of darkness appear in the ground. Then, a large black mass forming infront of them, taking shape as it emerged from the darkness. Soon, towering high above the heroes was a gigantic Heartless, scaling higher than even the trees of the forest. It was a Darkside. Ash and his friends, even Diantha and Greninja look up in shock.
"Whoa!" Roxas exclaims
"Mew!" Mew exclaims
"A Heartless!" Draxon exclaims
"So that's a Heartless..." Diantha gasps in surprise
The Darkside clasps it's hands together in a large hammer, raises them high above it's head, then sends them down at the group.
"Watch out!" Clemont exclaims
The heroes quickly move out of the way, dodging the Darkside's fists as it smashes the ground. Draxon rolls to the right and jumps up to his feet, summoning Soul Calibur in his right-hand. He then looks over towards Ash and the others as they got up on their feet.
"Leave this thing to us!" Draxon says
Draxon shifts his gaze, looking towards Roxas and Mew.
"Roxas, Mew, let's go!" Draxon says
"Right!" Roxas says
"Mew!" Mew says
Roxas summons his Kingdom Key into his right-hand and both he and Mew join Draxon's side as they faced the Darkside together. Before the battle began, Draxon and Roxas both fade away and take the form of Devon and Sora for a brief moment. The two boys felt like they've been in a situation like this before, but they couldn't quite make sense of it. They soon revert back to being themselves and were snapped back into reality as they focus on the fight at hand.
The Darkside raises it's right-hand, gripping it into a fist, then throws it down at the three heroes. Draxon, Roxas, and Mew instinctively jump back a good feet away, dodging the Heartless' fist as it smashes down on the ground where they once stood.
Draxon takes his Keyblade and he swings it with a right slash, launching five blue light projectiles at the Heartless. Each light blast hits the Darkside with bright large-sized explosions, striking in multiple places on it's body. The Darkside tries to slam it's right-hand down Draxon, but he jumps and rolls to the left. He then swings his Keyblade again, launching five more light projectiles at the Darkside.
Roxas aims his Kingdom Key at the Darkside and shoots three fireballs at it. The fiery projectiles hit the Darkside's head and they each detonate in medium-sized explosions on impact. The Darkside swings it's bulky right-arm at Roxas, but he ducks down as it swoops overhead. Then, the large Heartless sends it's hand down towards Roxas to smash him into the ground. Roxas quickly jumps back, dodging the massive hand.
Mew uses Aura Sphere, conjuring up a blue orb of pure energy in it's paws and hurls it at the Darkside, landing a hit to it's head. The Heartless swings it's hands at Mew in an attempt to swat the small Pokemon away, but it flies up and down, evading it's big hands. Then, the Darkside closes it's hands on Mew to try and crush it. Mew instantly shields itself with it's pink barrier as the Darkside's hands close in on it. Draxon rushes to Mew's aid, leaps up to the Darkside's head, and strikes it's face with a right slash, causing it to release it's grip on Mew.
The Darkside crosses it's arms, then spreads them out, creating a dark force within the heart-shaped hole in its body, sending dark orbs flying at the trio. Roxas and Draxon stood up front with their Keyblade, deflecting the dark orbs back at the Heartless.
Draxon flies up at the Darkside while cloaked in a barrier and slams into it's head. Upon making contact, the barrier shatters, unleashing a series of small, but very effective explosions. The attack knocks the Darkside back, but not enough to knock it off it's feet. Draxon leaps up at the Darkside's head and strikes it with a right slash. He follows up with a downward slash, a right spinning slash, a left and right uppercut slash, and a downward slash. The Darkside expels an aura of darkness, which sends Draxon flying backwards. The young teen slides back to a stop next to Roxas and Mew.
The Darkside reaches into the dark pool with both it's hands and scoops up an orb of darkness. Raising it to the sky, the dark orb split into many smaller orbs which rained down on the trio, who quickly moved out of the path of the orbs as they fell down toward them.
Draxon leapt up at the Darkside with Roxas following his lead and the two boys attacked together using their Keyblades. Draxon swung his Keyblade at the Darkside's face with a right uppercut slash, a left slash, a right slash, a downward slash, a right-diagonal slash, a left slash, and a reverse roundhouse slash. Roxas strikes the Darkside with an left uppercut slash, two cross slashes, a somersault slash, a backflip slash, and a downward slash. Then, Draxon and Roxas both struck the Darkside's head with a combined powerful strike, damaging the Heartless greatly.
The Darkside falls backwards and collapses onto the ground. It's body began to glow with light and soon it disappears in a large explosion, illuminating the whole area in flash of light. Draxon, Roxas, Mew, Ash, his friends, and Diantha shielded themselves from the blinding light. The explosion lasted for several seconds until it finally diminished. Everyone looked and saw that the Heartless was gone and the area was clear.
With the fight now over, Draxon and Roxas de-summoned their Keyblades. Ash and his friends approach the trio, congratulating them on their victory.
"You did it!" Bonnie cheers
"Nice work on dealing with that Heartless, you guys." Serena says
"Yeah! You both were awesome!" Ash says
"Pika!" Pikachu says in agreement
"The incredible power of the Keyblade never ceases to amaze." Clemont says
"The three of you fought very well." Diantha says
"Thanks, guys." Draxon says
"It's all in a day's work." Roxas says
"Mew." Mew says nodding it's head in agreement
Suddenly, the winds pick up as Diantha's helicopter arrives to pick her up.
(Moments later)
The helicopter was now touched down on the ground, waiting for Diantha climb aboard. Before leaving, Diantha spoke with the group.
"About that power of yours, Ash. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this prediction, but there's no doubt in my mind that you'll always be able to work with that power only for good!" Diantha says
"Right." Ash says nodding his head
"Gren." Greninja says nodding it's head
"Maybe the next time I see you, it will be at the Kalos League arena!" Diantha says
"Awesome! I'm gonna win my eighth badge! I'll be there for sure!" Ash says
"Until then, the best of luck." Diantha says
Diantha and Ash both shook hands.
"Thanks a lot, Diantha!" Ash says
Diantha looks over at Draxon, Roxas, and Mew.
"It was also a pleasure to meet you both, Draxon, Roxas. And Mew, of course." Diantha says
"Same." Draxon says
"Yeah. It's not often we get to watch a Pokemon Battle with the Champion of the Kalos League. Let alone meet the Champion." Roxas says
"I'm sure we'll see each other again." Diantha says
"Yeah. You can count on it." Draxon says with a right thumbs up.
"Good luck on fighting those Heartless. And keep up the good fight!" Diantha says
"Thanks." Draxon and Roxas say in unison
"Mew." Mew says nodding it's head
Soon, Diantha boards the helicopter and was off. With Diantha onboard, the helicopter flies away while the heroes wave her good-bye. Inside, Diantha thought about Olympia's prediction about the oncoming disaster and the power surrounding Ash and his Greninja.
"If, in fact Ash and his friends have something to do with the Kalos crisis that Olympia foresaw, that power must have something to do with it. And Draxon and Roxas. Their Keyblades... Olympia said that they're just as important. I need to investigate this further. To protect Draxon, Ash and their friends, and to protect the world!" Diantha thought to herself
(Elsewhere)
In a secret laboratory somewhere in Kalos, two mysterious figures observe a tank that had a Pokèmon inside. This Pokèmon was one that looked very similar to Squishy. And the two figures gazing down at it was an evil scientist named Xerosic, and Lysandre, who just so happened to be Team Flare's Leader.
"All issues have been cleared up." Xerosic says
"That means we can move forward to the final stage of our mission." Lysandre says
"Right." Xerosic says
Xerosic walks away to begin preparations while Lysandre continues staring down at the Pokèmon as it laid unconcious inside the tank.
(Meanwhile)
The sun was starting to set and the heroes were now starting to pack up to continue their journey.
"Squishy, ready to go? Time to get back on the road again." Bonnie says
Ash looks over at Greninja on his left.
"Greninja, let's work hard. Until we can really control that power, we've gotta get stronger and stronger!" Ash says
"Ninja." Greninja says nodding in agreement
"First, we'll win at the Snowbelle Gym, then it's off to the Kalos League!" Ash says
"Pika!" Pikachu says determined
"Gren!" Greninja says nodding in agreement
"Ash is so fired up." Bonnie says
"He'll be great!" Serena says
"So why don't we get on our way?" Clemont says
"All right! Let's get to the Snowbelle Gym right away!" Ash says
"I'm sure you'll win, Ash. No doubt." Draxon says
"Thanks, Draxon." Ash says
"Pikachu!" Pikachu says
"Grenin!" Greninja says
"Hey, Roxas. I'm glad to have met you. You're a great friend." Ash says
"Thanks, Ash." Roxas says
"We'll try and catch up with you if we can. And who knows? Maybe me, Roxas, and Xion might turn up in time for your gym battle." Draxon says
"That'd be awesome!" Roxas says
"I'd really like that!" Ash says
Feeling that it was time to head out, Draxon stretches his right-hand out infront of him and opens up a dark corridor. The two Keyblade Wielders and Mew walk towards the portal, but not before saying farewell to Ash and his friends.
"Take it easy!" Draxon says waving his right-hand
"Mew!" Mew says waving it's left-paw
"Good luck!" Roxas says waving his right-hand
Ash and his friends wave good-bye and Draxon, Roxas, and Mew head into the dark corridor, leaving the Kalos region. Soon after they were gone, the Pokemon Heroes continue on with their journey, heading down the road towards Snowbelle City and Ash's eighth and final gym badge.
Author's Note: Draxon, Roxas, Axel, and Mew travel to Castle Oblivion to continue their search for Xion, but they don't stay long as the castle began having some harsh effects on Draxon and Roxas. Thus, they were forced to leave. They travel to Twilight Town and find Xion along with Riku. And much to their confusion, she runs away. But thanks to Axel's intervention, Xion is brought back into the Organization. Draxon and Roxas return to their duties and they travel to the Kalos Region where they run into the Pokémon Heroes and surprisingly, the Kalos Champion, Diantha.
