"Don't cry, Elise. You must be a strong queen that won't cry."
Elise sighed as she turned to see her hero, the blue hedgehog Sonic, sitting next to her on a field of lush green grass.
"Hmm? Hey, what's the matter, Elise?"
Sonic's voice snapped her out of her thoughts, and she turned to him with a bright smile.
"Oh, nothing, Sonic. I was just… thinking about my father again. He was a strict father, but he loved me. He always told me not to cry."
Sonic scratched his ear and frowned at that.
"Sure, it's nice to be happy, but sometimes, crying helps you get all of your emotions out. There are times when it's the only way to make your feelings known."
There was no time more apparent when the dark hedgehog struck him through the heart.
"I can't see your face through my tears."
