~ Day 300 ~
Shutdown
(Berk)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew exit out of a dark corridor, arriving on Berk just outside the Great Hall. They were paired up together for today's mission, which was Target Elimination.
"So, we're supposed to find a Windstorm here on Berk. But where should we look?" Roxas says
"Let's find Stoick and Gobber. They might have an idea." Draxon says
"Mew." Mew says nodding in agreement
The trio proceed up the stairs toward the Great Hall and they head inside through the large doors. Entering the wide hall, they saw a couple vikings and a few Gronckles, Deadly Nadders, Monstrous Nightmares, and Hideous Zipplebacks inside whether they were talking or eating. The heroes looked across the way and they saw Stoick, Gobber, Hrogthar, Helga, and Spitelout standing around at the fire pit looking over a map of the Archipelago.
"There they are." Draxon says
The two young teens walk through the hall with Mew following them as they approach the five vikings. They recieved a few glances from the vikings and dragons as they passed by.
"Hey, Stoick! Gobber!" Draxon greets waving his right-hand
The chieftain and blacksmith turned when they heard their names and they were pleased to see Draxon, Roxas, and Mew.
"Draxon! Roxas!" Stoick says smiling
"Ah! Good to see ya, boys!" Gobber says waving his tongs prosthetic hand
"How'd your search for Xion go?" Stoick asks
"Oh, we found her." Roxas says
"She's not with you?" Gobber asks
"She's off somewhere fighting Heartless." Draxon says
"Well, it's good that you found her. It'd be a shame if anything were to happen to that poor lass." Gobber says
Draxon was still wondering about Xion when he heard Gobber say that. All those weeks that Xion had vanished, he had to stop by Berk and care for Lapis to make sure she was fed and happy. But if someday she were to disappear for good, Lapis would be left with no rider. She would be very lonely not having Xion around. Draxon felt the same about his dragon, Kindle, not to mention Roxas and Axel's dragons, Bristle and Firestorm. He had always hated himself for leaving the dragons here alone on Berk, but there was nothing he could do about it. Berk was their home and they belong here with other dragons. Putting these thoughts aside, Draxon focuses back on the mission.
"Speaking of Heartless, we were wondering if there have been any sightings of Heartless lately. You guys wouldn't happen to know anything, would you?" Draxon says
"Your timing couldn't be better, Draxon. We've been hearing a lot of chatter from a few trading ships that stopped by Berk in the past few days. They say that a beast has been flying around near Dragon Island, attacking any ship that dare cross by it." Stoick says
"Dragon Island?" Draxon asks
"It's where all these dragons originally came from. We vikings have been searching for it for years until Devon and Hiccup found it with their two Night Furies. Turns out only a dragon can find the island." Gobber says
"It's a good thing we got dragons to find it, right?" Roxas says
"It used to be home to a big, monstrous beast until Devon, my son, and their dragons put it down." Stoick says
The viking chief looks around at the Great Hall and all the vikings and dragons that were inside with them.
"If they hadn't come along with their dragons, Berk wouldn't be as you see it today." Stoick says
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew looked around at the large hall, seeing the happy faces on the vikings and dragons. Thanks to Devon and Hiccup, they brought two worlds together and made life on Berk even greater. The two boys couldn't help but feel happy for them. Focusing back on their mission, they glance back at Stoick.
"So, where can we find the island?" Draxon asks
"I'll show you on the map here." Stoick says
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew walk up to the fire pit and they look down at the map of the Archipelago while Stoick points out the location.
"Dragon Island is north-west of Berk here. It's surrounded by a wall of heavy mist on the sea. To get to the island itself, you need to pass through Helheim's Gate." Stoick says
"Helheim's Gate?" Draxon asks
"Oh, it's a treacherous area, that. There's tight collections of sea stacks and rock formations scattered about that block your way and the fog makes it almost impossible to see. It's more than enough a challenge to navigate safely through." Spitelout says
"Wow. Sounds like it must be really hard to get there." Roxas says
"Aye. It is. When we journeyed through that area, there were shipwrecks all around. I even remember seeing that one ship hangin' from a sea stack. Been wondering where it went since it vanished. Now I know." Gobber says
"It's usually a six hour trip by ship to get to Dragon Island. But with your dragons, it should take about two hours." Stoick says
"Then, that's where we'll go. No matter how hard the challenge is, we need to head there if we're to find the Heartless." Draxon says
Draxon looks to his left at Roxas.
"C'mon! Let's get our dragons!" Draxon says
"Right!" Roxas says
Draxon and Roxas head out of the Great Hall to fetch their dragons with Mew right behind them while the five vikings watch them go.
"That young lad sure is brave to travel through Helmheim's Gate. He really reminds me of Devon in a way." Gobber says
Stoick and the other vikings nod their heads in agreement.
(Two hours later)
Draxon and Roxas were now flying over the sea on their dragons, Kindle and Bristle, looking for Helheim's Gate. Mew, now transformed into a Charizard, flew alongside them. After their two hour flight from Berk, they soon found themselves hovering infront of the gigantic fog wall, which compared to them made them look like tiny ants.
"I guess this is it. Helheim's Gate." Draxon says
"Wow. Stoick and the others weren't kidding. This fog is big." Roxas says
"Yeah. But we have to go through this to reach Dragon Island." Draxon says
Draxon places his right-hand on Kindle's neck, gaining her attention.
"Okay, girl. We're counting on you and Bristle to get us through this fog. Can you do it?" Draxon says
Kindle nods her head to her rider in acknowledgement. Draxon smiles and looks over at Roxas, Bristle, and Charizard
"Alright. Let's go!" Draxon says
Draxon and Kindle head on into the fog followed by their friends as they travel through Helheim's Gate.
The heroes flew cautiously through the fog, avoiding the sea stacks and jagged rocks. They even caught a glimpse of the few shipwrecks that were still left trapped in the sea stacks. The air was heavy and filled with tension, but they continued onwards. Kindle and Bristle were able to safely navigate the treacherous area using their keen sense of smell to find the island. After a couple minutes of flying through the fog bank, they eventually reach Dragon Island. The trio touch down on the pebble-like shore and look around. The first thing that immediately caught their attention was the tall volcanic mountain that towered high above them.
"So, this is Dragon Island, huh?" Roxas says
"Yeah. This must be the place." Draxon says
The two Keyblade Wielders walk along the shore and explore their surroundings with Charizard, Kindle, and Bristle following them. Suddenly, Draxon saw something on his left.
"Hey, check this out." Draxon says
Draxon, Roxas, Charizard, Kindle, and Bristle look over to their left and they saw a gigantic hole to their left in the mountainside.
"Whoa... Look at the size of this hole." Roxas says
The heroes approach the hole and stare up at it. This large hole compared to them made them look like ants.
"What could make a hole this big?" Roxas asks
Draxon looks around and saw something else further down the shore on his right.
"Uh... I'm guessing that." Draxon says pointing out with his right-hand
Roxas, Charizard, Kindle, and Bristle look down the direction where Draxon was pointing. What they saw really surprised them. Lying on the shore next to the mountain was the large skeleton of the Red Death.
"What... the heck... is that?" Roxas asks
"If I had to guess, this thing must've been a dragon at some point." Draxon says
"This was a dragon?" Roxas asks
"It must've been the one that Stoick and Gobber talked about. They told me about a gigantic dragon that had control over all the dragons on Berk before they moved in. That was until Devon and Hiccup took it down." Draxon says
"And you think this was that dragon?" Roxas asks
Draxon looks right at Roxas.
"Yeah. This must be the dragon they fought." Draxon says
The two boys glance back at the massive skeleton.
"Must've been one heck of a battle." Roxas says
Suddenly, the heroes heard a loud roar coming from behind them. They turn around and saw a dragon-like Heartless flying toward them. It was their target: the Windstorm. The draconian Heartless stops a couple feet away and hovers infront of the two Keyblade Wielders and three dragons, letting out a screeching roar at them.
"Looks like we've got ourselves one now." Draxon says
Draxon stretches his right-hand out, summoning Soul Calibur in a flash of blue light, while Roxas summons his Kingdom Key into his hands. Kindle and Bristle stand alongside their riders and growl menacingly at the Heartless. Charizard also growls, ready for battle.
The Windstorm swoops at the heroes with it's talons extended. Draxon jumps over to the left with Kindle and Charizard while Roxas and Bristle jump over to the right, dodging the Heartless as it flies past them. Kindle and Charizard both shoot fire blasts at the Windstorm, hitting it's back. The dragon-like Heartless loops back around and dives down at Draxon, Kindle, and Charizard with a spiral charge. Charizard flies up at the Windstorm and uses Dragon Rush, smashing into the Heartless while covered in a blue dragon-shaped aura. The attack knocks the Heartless back some feet away.
Draxon leaps up at the Windstorm and attacks with his crystal Keyblade, delivering a somersault slash, a backflip slash, a right spinning slash, a left-angled spinning slash, both of which hits three times, and a downward slash. The Windstorm performs a backflip to knock Draxon away. The young teen held up Soul Calibur in defense, but was knocked back by the Heartless and was sent sliding back across the pebble shore. The Windstorm touches down near Draxon with a heavy stomp, creating a green shockwave along the ground, but nowhere near to reach Draxon. The Windstorm charges at Draxon and lunges at him with it's jaws. Draxon jumps back and counters with a right slash at it's head. The Heartless turns and swings it's tail at Draxon, but he ducks down, dodging the Windstorm's tail as it swoops overhead.
Kindle rushes to her rider's aid and rams into the Windstorm's left-side with her horns, knocking it away. The dragon-like Heartless lets out a roar at the blue Monstrous Nightmare, but she roars back in response. The Windstorm charges at Kindle for an attack, but before it could reach her, Kindle spews a stream of flames at the dark creature, striking it head on. Then, she turns and smacks the Heartless in the face with a strong swing of her long tail. The Windstorm lunges at Kindle with it's jagged jaws, aiming for her neck. Kindle rears her head back, the teeth of the Heartless missing her neck by inches, and bites down on the Windstorm's neck with her strong jaws, causing it to screech out in pain. The draconic Heartless wrestles to free itself from Kindle's grip, but the Monstrous Nightmare proved to be a strong dragon, refusing to let go. Kindle soon flips the Windstorm on it's right-side, slamming it into the ground. Still wrestling against Kindle's jaws, the Heartless manages to kick her in the stomach with it's legs, sending her back to her rider.
The Windstorm rises back onto it's feet and shakes itself from the dirt. Then, it flaps it's wings, rising up in the air above Draxon, Kindle, and Charizard. The Windstorm began flapping it's wings faster, launching silver blades of wind at the trio. Draxon raises Soul Calibur above his head and it shines with it's pure light, generating a blue barrier of light infront of himself and the two dragons. The sliver blades strike against the light barrier and hit the ground around them, kicking up clouds of dirt. Draxon, Kindle, and Charizard were left unharmed thanks to Draxon's quick thinking.
The Windstorm moves to attack them again when the Kingdom Key strikes the right-side of it's face. The attack came from Roxas, who threw his Keyblade at the Heartless. The Windstorm turns towards Roxas and Bristle and launches a silver wind blast from it's mouth in their direction. Roxas and Bristle both jump back a few feet, dodging the wind blast as it strikes the ground. Bristle raises the spikes on it's tail and launches them at the Windstorm, landing a hit on it's right-wing, it's chest, and stomach. Roxas steps in and raises his Keyblade to the sky, summoning lightning bolts which strike down on the draconic Heartless. The Windstorm crashes onto the ground and was left dazed and stunned by the electric attack.
With the Heartless now vulnerable, Draxon and Roxas move to attack the Windstorm together. Draxon delivers a roundhouse slash, a downward slash, a right-uppercut slash, a reverse roundhouse slash, and a left-uppercut slash, while Roxas delivers a thrusting strike, an uppercut slash, a downward slash, a right spinning slash, and a left slash. The combined attacks dish out tons of damage to the Heartless.
The Windstorm rises up on it's feet and jumps into the air, performing a spinning twirl, creating a minature tornado, sending it toward Draxon and Roxas, The two boys leap away, dodging the tornado as it blew past them. Roxas hurls his Kingdom Key at the dragon-like Heartless, landing a hit to it's chest. Draxon swings Soul Calibur with a left slash, launching a crescent blade of blue light at the Windstorm, hitting it's head. The Windstorm launches a wind blast at the two teens, but they leap away, dodging the attack. Draxon jumps over to the right while Roxas jumps to the left.
Draxon rushes at the Windstorm, leaps up at the dragon-like Heartless, and slams into it, swinging his glowing crystal Keyblade at it's chest with a left slash. The Windstorm falls onto the ground on it's back. Draxon leaps away as the Heartless rises up on it's feet, growling at the young teen. The Windstorm charges at Draxon and lunges at him with it's jagged teeth. Draxon jumps back and counters the attack with an uppercut slash under the Windstorm's chin. He then strikes the Heartless with fast, strong blows. He swings Soul Calibur with a downward slash, a left and right slash, two upward spinning slashes, an overhead strike, and a right-upward spinning slash. Finally, Draxon turns Soul Calibur over, holding it in reverse, and delivers the final blow, going through the Windstorm with a right-uppercut slash.
The Windstorm staggers around on it's hind legs, roaring in pain. Then, it collapses flat on it's stomach and vanishes in a flash of light. It's captive heart was released and sent floating up to Kingdom Hearts.
With the fight now over, Draxon and Roxas de-summon their Keyblades and Charizard reverts back into Mew.
"Well, that's that." Draxon says
"Yep." Roxas says
"Let's head back to Berk." Draxon says
"Right." Roxas says
And so, Draxon and Roxas mount their dragons and they take off with Mew, leaving Dragon Island and heading back to Berk. As they fly away from the island, Draxon glances back at the skeletal remains of the Red Death.
(Moments later)
Draxon, Roxas, Kindle, Bristle, and Mew arrive back on Berk and they land infront of the Great Hall where Stoick, Gobber, Helga, Hrogthar, and Spitelout awaited them.
"Draxon! Roxas! You're back!" Gobber says
"I trust the Heartless has been dealt with?" Stoick asks placing his hands on his waist
"Yep. It was just one, but we took care of." Draxon says
"Mew." Mew says nodding his head
Stoick smiles upon hearing the heroes' success. Now, no ships would have to worry about traveling near Dragon Island without fear of Heartless attacks.
"Well done, boys! That Heartless have been causing problems for trader ships trying to sail here to Berk. They'll be happy to hear this." Stoick says
Draxon was still wondering about the large skeleton that he and Roxas discovered on Dragon Island. He wanted to know for certain if that was what the Berkians fought before.
"Hey, Stoick?" Draxon says
"Hm?" Stoick says
"We saw a bunch of large bones on Dragon Island. It appeared to be a dragon. Was that the thing you all faced before?" Draxon asks
"Aye. That was the same monstrosity we faced when we invaded the island. It breathed a great stream of flame that engulfed dozens of our ships, knocked over sea stacks like they were nothing." Stoick says
"And you wanna know somethin' else? That vicious beast was under the control of Lord Thanatos." Gobber says
Draxon's eyes widened in surprise when he heard the Dark Keyblade Master's name.
"Lord Thanatos?!" Draxon says
The young teen remembers seeing Lord Thanatos in Olympia's vision in the Kalos region. Could such a powerful being like him really be capable of controlling such a gigantic dragon? Roxas, who was new to hearing about Lord Thanatos, was confused as to who Draxon was talking about.
"Lord Thanatos? Who's that?" Roxas asks
"From what I heard, he's a Dark Keyblade Master who tried to conquer the entire Universe." Draxon says looking left at Roxas
Draxon glanced back to the vikings.
"And he actually controlled this thing?" Draxon asks
"Aye. He did." Gobber says
"Devon and my son fought a hard battle against that demon and his pet monster." Stoick says
"Sounds like this Lord Thanatos is a real tough guy." Roxas says
"He is, as we learned firsthand. That demon had such destructive power, he nearly destroyed the whole island." Stoick says
Draxon and Roxas shared startled expressions with each other. If ever they were to come across Lord Thanatos in the future, they'd have to be well prepared to face him.
"Ahem. Well, I'm glad we were able to help out with the Heartless. Me, Roxas, and Mew are gonna get going." Draxon says
"Alrighty then. Take care ya hear." Gobber says
"We'll keep a lookout for Heartless if any pop up." Stoick says
"Right." Draxon says nodding his head
Draxon and Roxas waved farewell to the vikings and brought Kindle and Bristle back to their dragon houses. Having completed their mission, Draxon, Roxas, and Mew left Berk and headed for Twilight Town.
(Twilight Town)
Draxon, Roxas, and Mew sat along the ledge of the clock tower. They were soon joined by Axel, and surprisingly Xion. Neither one of them said a word and they continued to stare out at the sunset quietly.
(Meanwhile)
At the Old Mansion, Naminé stood infront of Sora's pod, watching the young Keyblade Wielder as he slept peacefully inside. She had a worried expression on her face.
"Oh no..." Naminé gasps
DiZ walks up to Naminé from behind and stands alongside her on her right.
"What has happened?" DiZ asks
"Sora and Devon's memories... I'm afraid they've stopped." Naminé says
"What does that mean?" DiZ asks
"Unless something is done, Sora will never wake from his slumber. And Devon will never regain his lost potential." Naminé says
"The gloves must come off then." DiZ says
Naminé looks up at DiZ with concern in her eyes.
"But..." Naminé says
"Nobodies should never have existed, as I'm sure you understand, Naminé." DiZ says
"Yes." Naminé says nodding her head in understanding
~ Day 301 ~
Vacant Place
(Dragon Realms)
Draxon and Mew step out of a dark corridor and arrives in the Dragon Realms just outside the Dragon Temple in Warfang. The young teen and small Pokémon were about to head up to the temple when he heard a female voice call his name.
"Draxon!" The voice exclaims
Draxon and Mew turn around and saw that the voice belonged to Ember. Alongside her was Flame, and Sparx. The trio approaching the Keyblade Wielder, happy to see him.
"Ember! Flame! Sparx! What's up?" Draxon greets with a smile
"We were just walking around the city and everything's looking great! The city's now completely rebuilt after the war with Malefor." Flame says
Draxon and Mew look around and saw that indeed the city was fully rebuilt. There was no rubble in the streets, the stalls and shops were back up, and the city was bustling with dragons, cheetahs, and moles. The Dragon City of Warfang was finally back to it's grand splendor.
"I gotta say, the city really does look better." Draxon says
"Mew." Mew says nodding it's head in agreement
"Yeah. It's been given a special spit shine." Sparx says rubbing his hands together
"Oh, how's the search for Xion? Did you find her?" Ember asks
"Yeah." Draxon says
"Where is she?" Ember asks
"She's off on a mission in another world." Draxon says
"Oh... Well, it's a relief to know that you found her." Ember says
"Speaking of search. We're supposed to be exploring Concurrent Skies for the Dark Wraith, right?" Draxon says
"Yep. That's the next place." Ember says
"Alright. Let's head inside and check with the Terrador and the others." Draxon says
With Ember, Flame, and Sparx now joining them, Draxon and Mew proceed up the incline and head up to the Dragon Temple.
(Moments later)
The Keyblade Wielder, small Pokémon, two dragons, and dragonfly met up with Terrador, Volteer, Cyril, and Hunter inside the temple chambers near the Pool of Visions.
"Good to see you, Draxon." Terrador greets
"Hey, Terrador." Draxon greets
"Your timing couldn't be impeccable. There have been presence of Heartless in Concurrent Skies." Terrador says
"Yes. And there could be a chance that dreadful Dark Wraith might be lurking there with those horrid creatures." Cyril says
"We haven't been able to confirm this with our scouts. Nevertheless, you should tread carefully. The Dark Wraith will undoubtedly have traps ready for you." Terrador says
"Traps, huh? Well, I say bring 'em on! Nothing ain't gonna stop us!" Sparx says feeling confident
"What can you tell us about Concurrent Skies?" Draxon asks
"Please allow me to illucidate." Volteer says stepping forward
Everyone turns their attention to the Pool of Visions. Looking into the water, they could see the crystal wasteland and the dark skies that loomed overhead, flashing with lightning bolts.
"This is Concurrent Skies. In past times, it used to be a private study for myself and other dragons of the element of Electricity to harness their potential before Malefor and Lord Thanatos corrupted the land with their vile, corrupt, dark, twisted malfeasance. Electricity rages unbalanced and unchecked in this wasteland." Volteer explains
The water in the pool ripples and the group saw the dark, foreboding black fortress that used to by Cynder's Lair.
"Years ago, during her time as Malefor and Lord Thanatos' servant, Cynder used this fortress as her lair to carry out their evil schemes. The purple dragon, Spyro, and a brave, courageous, heroic Keyblade Wielder came to Concurrent Skies to rescue the Fire Guardian, Ignitus, after he had been kidnapped by Cynder." Volteer explains
Another Keyblade Wielder? Draxon was confused as to who Volteer was describing. Putting these thoughts aside, Draxon focuses on the location.
"Where can we find it?" Draxon asks
"Concurrent Skies lies far to the North-West. It's at least a two hour flight from here." Terrador says
"Okay. We'll head on over and check it out. If the Heartless or the Dark Wraith are there, we'll send them packing." Draxon says
"I'm sure you will. Good luck." Terrador says
And so, Draxon, Mew, Ember, Flame, and Sparx leave the Dragon Temple and set out for Concurrent Skies.
(Three hours later)
After their three hour flight from the Dragon City of Warfang, Draxon and his friends arrive at Concurrent Skies, standing in the crystal wasteland. Ahead of them was the dark, black castle that used to be Cynder's lair.
"So, this is Concurrent Skies." Draxon says
"And there's the creepy, tall castle that used to be big, bad Cynder's fortress." Sparx groans
"That castle, huh?" Draxon says
"Yeah. That's it." Sparx says
"Well, if that's where the Dark Wraith and the Heartless are, then that's where we gotta go." Draxon says
And so, the heroes began making their way towards the black castle, heading down the path that led through the wasteland. They crossed crystal fissures, climbed over rocks that blocked their path, and crystal valleys. After three minutes of moving through the wasteland, they suddenly stopped when they saw something up ahead.
"Whoa..." Draxon says
All around the heroes were black Shadow Globs, planted on the ground and the rock walls, pulsing like a heartbeat with a red inner glow.
"What's with these ugly blobs?" Flame asks
"Ugh. They're disgusting!" Ember says in disgust
"I've seen these things before, but never this color. They spawn more Heartless." Draxon says
"Oh, well that's just great." Sparx groans
Before the group could proceed to destroy the dark orbs, a large group of Neoshadows emerge from the ground infront of them. Draxon summons Soul Calibur in his right-hand and turns back to the others.
"Destroy as many Shadow Globs as you can! I'll handle the Heartless!" Draxon says
"Got it!" Flame says
Mew, Ember, Flame, and Sparx went to work on destroying the Shadow Globs while Draxon fought alone against the Neoshadows.
Mew conjures up an Aura Sphere in it's paws and hurls it at three Shadow Globs that were clustered together. Ember shoots fireballs from her mouth at the Shadow Globs, taking them out one by one. Flame breathes a stream of fire on five dark orbs, destroying them from left to right.
Draxon flies forward at the Neoshadows with six blue orbs of light revolving around him, blasting dozens of the Heartless away. A Neoshadow leaps at Draxon, swiping it's right-claw at him, but he jumps over to the left and cuts through the Heartless with a right slash. Two Neoshadows jump out from the shadowy portals in the ground and appear above Draxon. The young teen leaps up at the airborne Heartless strikes them both with a spiral slash. Targeting a Neoshadow down below, Draxon dives down toward the Heartless and slams his Keyblade down on the dark creature, destroying it. Five Neoshadows rush toward Draxon, attacking as a group. Draxon pulls Soul Calibur back and swings it with an upward slash, sending columns of blue light across the ground, disintegrating the five Heartless. More Neoshadows emerge from the shadows, stalking their way towards Draxon, but he held Soul Calibur tightly in his right-hand as he stood ready for them.
Mew uses Ancient Power to conjure up a silver orb through it's afterimage and hurls it at a Shadow Glob. Ember and Flame both use their Fire Breath, breathing streams of flames at the dark orbs around them. They had already destroyed quite a number of Shadow Globs in the area, but there were still a lot more to go.
"There's just too many of them!" Ember says
"We won't be able to get them all at this rate!" Flame says
Mew looks over at Ember and Flame on it's right as they continued to destroy more Shadow Globs, then glances over to the left at the rest of the dark orbs. The small Pokémon thought to itself for a moment. Pretty soon, it came up with an idea. Mew glows with a bright light and it transforms into a Tyranitar, letting out a loud roar. Ember and Flame had just finished up with their Shadow Globs and they looked over at the newly transformed Pokémon upon hearing it's roar.
Tyranitar uses Earth Power, stomping it's right-foot into the ground, causing the ground to shake and large crystals to fall onto the Shadow Globs, crushing them. Afterwards, Tyranitar charges up powerful energy in it's mouth and unleashes it in a destructive gold-colored Hyper Beam at the numerous clusters of Shadow Globs, obliterating them.
"Wow... Nice job, Mew!" Ember says
"Yeah! That was awesome!" Flame says
Tyranitar turns to the two young dragons and reverts back into Mew, giving them a happy smile.
"Mew." Mew says
Having destroyed all the Shadow Globs, Ember, Flame, Sparx, and Mew turn towards Draxon as he continued fighting the Heartless.
Draxon cuts through two Neoshadows with a downward slash and a right spinning slash, then jumps into the air and swings Soul Calibur with a right slash, launching blue electric blasts down at three Neoshadows, vaporizing them. As Draxon touches down, a Neoshadow leaps forward and swipes it's claws at him. Draxon quickly flips over the Heartless as it attacks and swings his crystal Keyblade down at it. Upon landing, Draxon closes in on a Neoshadow with a sliding dash and cuts it down with a right slash. Then, he strikes the ground near four Neoshadows with a blast of pure energy from his Keyblade, launching the Heartless and himself into the air. Once in mid-air, Draxon performs four somersault slashes with his Keyblade extended, tilting to the left and right, slicing up the four Neoshadows.
The remaining dozens of Neoshadows retreat into shadowy portals in the ground, then leap out all at once to attack Draxon. The young teen grips his Keyblade with both hands and holds it up to his face. Both Draxon and Soul Calibur both glow with blue light as they charge up with pure light. Just as the Heartless were about to come down ontop of him, Draxon slams his glowing crystal Keyblade down on the ground, creating a large rippling shockwave of light which disintegrates the Neoshadows, finishing them off.
With the battle now over, Draxon rises to his feet and de-summons his Keyblade. Mew, Ember, Flame, and Sparx approach Draxon while he turns to face them.
"Nice moves, Draxon." Flame says
"Thanks. Good work on destroying those Shadow Globs." Draxon says
The heroes look on ahead at the castle.
"Not much farther now. Let's keep moving." Draxon says
After dealing with the Shadow Globs and the Heartless, Draxon and his friends continue onwards towards the dark castle.
(Moments later)
After traveling across the crystal wasteland, the heroes approach to the black castle and stand before the tall doors, glancing up at the large building as the blue lightning flashed through the dark clouds, illuminating it's menacing form.
"Here it is. Cynder's used-to-be Lair." Sparx says
"Think anyone's home?" Draxon asks
"We could always knock." Flame jokes
Suddenly, the group hears eerie whispering noises coming from the castle. They glance back and watch as the doors unlock and open up by themselves, inviting the Keyblade Wielder, the small Pokémon, the two dragons, and dragonfly, daring them to enter inside.
"Oh, man... I got a bad feeling about this." Sparx says nervously
Ember, Flame, and Sparx were filled with a sense of dread and were almost afraid to enter the castle. Mew was scared as well, but not so much as they were. Draxon stares at the castle entrance for a moment, unafraid to brave the darkness. He grips his right-hand into a fist, then summons Soul Calibur in a flash of blue light, determined to continue his mission.
"Let's go. Stay close." Draxon says
Mustering up courage in their hearts, the heroes head into the dark castle, entering the foyer. The air was cold, oppressive, and dark. The only light source was the bright blue glow of Soul Calibur's light and the dimly lit red flames of black candles set upon poles throughout the hall. Draxon and his friends take a few steps into the dark foyer until they hear a loud bang behind them. They quickly turn around and see that the doors were now sealed shut. The dread they felt only moments ago was now a crushing weight as the darkness surrounds them.
"No going back now. We might as well press on." Draxon says
Now trapped within the castle, the heroes proceed up the wide staircase infront of them and push onwards through the dark halls, braving whatever horrors awaited them. The black stone was cold to the touch and the air felt heavy and suffocating. Their footsteps echoing deep through the eerie silence of the castle. Unaware to the group, a shadowy figure hovered ominously behind them, staring with it's glowing red eyes. Ember felt like she was being watched and glanced back at the darkness behind her. Nothing was there. The others noticed the pink dragoness had stopped and they looked back at her.
"Ember? What is it?" Flame asks
"I... I thought I saw something." Ember says
"Oh, come on, Ember. I'm creeped out by this place enough as it is." Sparx groans
"Maybe it was nothing. Sorry to have frightened you all." Ember says
The heroes continue onwards through the pitch black halls. Just as they turn around, the same shadowy figure reappears, watching them go before it slinks back into the darkness, the evil glow of it's eyes fading away.
Draxon and his friend come into a large chamber which had a large stained glass window with two tall three-branched candelabras on it's sides and a black altar. The window had the image of a large, black dragon on it. It was Cynder in her Corrupt Form, sitting on her haunches facing the heroes with a large red crystal hovering infront of her while her eyes glowed red.
"Is that..." Draxon says
"Yeah... That was Cynder back in the day. When Lord Thanatos and Malefor corrupted her. Man... I don't ever want to see that side of her again." Sparx says
"So that's what she looked like when she was corrupted." Ember says
"Man, it must've been torture for her." Flame says
"Poor Cynder. I don't think I'd ever want to be Lord Thanatos and Malefor's slave." Ember says
Draxon stares at the stained glass image of Cynder's Corrupt Form. Every time, he's reminded of the evil that Lord Thanatos wrought upon the Universe. Having control of the Red Death on Berk, taking an innocent dragon like Cynder and transforming her into an evil monster, nearly casting the entire Pokémon World into darkness. Truly, Lord Thanatos must've had some incredible dark powers to be capable of committing such evil. Who knew what other frightening, horrific powers he had at his disposal. And will there ever come a time when he will have to face him?
"Come on. We've got a job to do." Draxon says
Moving on, the heroes leave the dark chamber and head further into the castle. They cross more fissures and pass through dark crystal gardens as they proceed onwards. The heroes run into a few Neoshadows along the way, but they make short work of them. Eventually, they make their final approach to the spire. The elevator that would take them up was at the top of two sets of stairs.
"We're getting close to the end." Draxon says
"Good. I'm just about done with this place. I thought it was creepy with Evil Cynder around. This Dark Wraith made it much more terrifying!" Sparx says
"Well, now we're gonna push it and the Heartless out of here forever." Ember says
"Right. Let's go." Draxon says
Draxon, Mew, Ember, Flame, and Sparx head up the stairs towards the elevator. The doors were shut, but they opened automatically on approach. The heroes step onto the large platform and they begin their ascent. It took a full minute for the elevator to reach the top of the spire. The lightning constantly flashed around in the dark clouds, illuminating the spire with it's ominous light. Draxon and his friends took a few steps forward and look around the area. They had gone through the whole castle, fighting the Heartless, but they had yet to find the Dark Wraith.
"Nobody's home." Ember says
"Great! That means we can go home!" Sparx says
"No. With this many Heartless lurking around, the Dark Wraith has to be here. We need to find it and banish it from this place." Draxon says
"But where is it?" Ember asks
"I aM eVeRyWhErE..." A dark voice says
Suddenly, the spire grew dark, causing the heroes to look around. Sparx looks above him and his eyes widened in horror.
"Uh, guys..." Sparx whimpers
Draxon, Mew, Ember, and Flame turn around and look up above them. A large black mass appears in mid-air and streams of darkness swirl around and into it. Slowly, the dark mass begins to take shape in the form of a humanoid being. Then, there was a flash of an ominous red light, which illuminates the entire spire, and the dark entity reveals itself in the form of the Dark Echo. The shadowy wraith hovers in the air above the group, staring down at them with it's glowing red eyes. It's entire spectral body emitting it's black and red aura of darkness.
"Whoever you are, your evil has gone on long enough! You won't be hurting anyone anymore! We're sending you and the Heartless back to the darkness where you belong!" Draxon says
"YoU aRe NoT tHe FiRsT tO mAkE tHaT vOw, YoUnG KeYbLaDe WiElDeR." The Dark Echo says
The Dark Echo holds out it's hands infront of it and conjures black red flames in it's palms. A black mist appears, covering the floor around the spire.
"AnD yOu WoN't Be ThE lAsT." The Dark Echo says
Slowly, the ghosly wraith spreads it's arms out, causing the dark mist to grow and expand. And from the black mist, a group of skeletal, decayed, humanoid zombie-like creatures with glowing red eyes emerge from the depths of the shadows, groaning and moaning in their undead voices. Mew, Ember, Flame, and Sparx stared in horror with their eyes widened and their mouth hanging open. Even Draxon was taken back by this.
"My WiLl HaS bEcOmE mAnY-pLaCeD, mAnY-fOrMeD. DaRkNeSs ExIsTs In EvErY wOrLd, In EvErY hEaRt, WiThIn EvErY pLaNe Of ExIsTeNcE. To EsCaPe FrOm ThE dArKnEsS iS a FuTiLe EfFoRt. AlL lIfE eXiStS tO fEeD tHe DaRkNeSs... YoU tOo ShAlL fAlL pReY tO iT's InSaTiAbLe HuNgEr..." The Dark Echo says
In that moment, the Dark Echo stretches it's skeletal hands out towards the heroes, commanding the undead creatures to attack. Draxon takes hold of Soul Calibur in his right-hand while Mew, Ember, and Flame stood alongside him, ready to fight the Dark Echo and it's undead creatures.
Draxon rushes at one of the zombie-like creatures and slices off it's head with a right slash. A skeletal creature swipes it's left-claw at the young teen, but he ducks down and slices the creature in half across the waist. Another zombie humanoid throws a blood-encrusted axe at Draxon. Reacting quickly, Draxon jumps over to the left, dodging the axe, and hurls his crystal Keyblade at the dark creature. The Keyblade spins through the air like a buzzsaw and cuts clean through the zombie humanoid, splitting it vertically in half from it's head to it's waist.
Two skeletal creatures try to grab Mew with their bony hands, but the small Pokémon shifts left to right, avoiding the monstrous creatures. Using Psychic, Mew sends the horrid zombies flying off the spire and down to their demise. Mew conjures up an Aura Sphere in it's paws and hurls it at another undead humanoid, blasting it to pieces.
Ember rams into a skeletal creature with her horns, striking it in the stomach, sending it staggering backwards. Then, she knocks the ugly zombie away with a backflip. Another zombie humanoid stalks towards the pink dragoness from the left, growling with it's sickly voice. She turns to face the approaching dark creature and kicks it away using her hindlegs.
Flame uses his Fire Breath, unleashing a stream of flames upon an undead creature, reducing it to a charred corpse. An axe-wielding zombie approaches the red dragon and swings down at him. Flame jumps over to the left, dodging the axe, and rams his horns into it's right-side, sending the zombie flying off the spire. A third zombie stalks toward Flame, snarling at him. The young dragon glances over to his left and shoots a fireball from his mouth. The fireball hits the zombie, leaving a burning hole in it's chest, but that didn't stop it. Flame launches another fireball and blasts the zombie's head to pieces, causing it's decayed body to fall to the floor.
The undead creatures laid scattered upon the spire, bisected, decapitated, burned, and in pieces. Defeated, they all disintegrate in puffs of black mist, which swirls around the Dark Echo and is absorbed back into it's spectral body.
The Dark Echo thrusts it's right-hand forward and casts a dark lightning blast at the young teen, hurling arcing bolts of blue electricity from it's skeletal fingers.. Draxon raised Soul Calibur over his head with both hands, blocking against the lightning bolts. The crystal Keyblade deflected the lightning bolts, sending them flying in every direction atop the spire. The electric attack soon ceases as the ghostly wraith lowers it's hand. Then, the Dark Echo conjures up a red orb of darkness in it's hands and throws it into the ground. A black-red light glows from where the dark orb had submerged. The evil specter then raises it's hands up, sending black-red cracks exploding along the floor toward the heroes. Draxon and his friends quickly move out of the way, avoiding the dark cracks.
Draxon straightened out his Keyblade and held it out infront of him, pointing it at the Dark Echo. Soul Calibur began to glow brighter with it's pure light and a blue sphere of light appeared on the tip, charging up with energy. Within moments, the crystal Keyblade launches several blue light projectiles in a burst of light which home in on the Dark Echo, landing multiple hits to it's spectral being, creating small explosions on impact. The Dark Echo grunts in pain as the light blasts strike it's body.
Mew conjures up an Aura Sphere in it's paws and hurls it at the Dark Echo. Ember and Flame both shoot fireballs from their mouths at the Dark Echo. The evil specter brings it's right-arm out infront of it, shielding itself with it's dark cloak as both attacks strike it's ghostly body.
The Dark Echo conjures up a black orb in his right-hand, which sparks with dark blue electricity. Then, the shadowy wraith hurls it at the heroes. The dark orb homes in on the group as it heads straight for them. The heroes immediately jump out of the way, dodging the dark projectile as it hits the ground, detonating in a large explosion.
Draxon swings Soul Calibur with a right slash, launching a crescent blade of blue light at the Dark Echo. The Dark Echo thrusts it's right-hand out, shooting a blast of darkness from it's open palm in retaliation. Draxon jumps back, dodging the dark blast, and charges at the Dark Echo. Leaping up towards it, Draxon raises Soul Calibur over his head, then brings it down on the Dark Echo with a left-downward slash. He follows up with right-upward slash, a left slash, a somersault slash which hits three times, and a right-angled spinning slash. The Dark Echo thrusts it's right-hand forward, blasting Draxon back with telekinetic force. Draxon slides back across the spire and slows to a stop next to his friends.
The Dark Echo growls and crosses it's arms as it charges up with dark energy. Darkness began swirling around the spire and dark blue lightning flashed around the area. Soon, the Dark Echo spreads it's arms out and it lets out a mighty demonic roar, causing lightning bolts to spark out of it's body and flash around him in columns of dark electricity. The top of the spire explodes from the intense power of the shadowy wraith, sending glass everywhere. The Dark Echo gazes back down at the Keyblade Wielder and his friends, ready to face them again.
The Dark Echo flies higher into the air, puts it's spectral hands together infront of it's chest, and brings them apart, forming a black and red dark energy sphere, which sparks with black electricity. Then, it raises both it's hands up in the air, raising the sphere upwards over it's head, feeding it more power. The dark energy sphere started to grow bigger and bigger until it was a gigantic orb of destruction, capable of destroying the entire fortress. Draxon, Mew, Ember, Flame, and Sparx all look up in shock, seeing how large the dark orb was. Soon, the Dark Echo throws it's hands forward, hurling the dark orb down towards the heroes.
Draxon looks down at Soul Calibur, which was now glowing with it's benevolent light. His expression changes into one of determination. He gripped his Keyblade tightly in his hand, then glances back up at the dark energy sphere as it slowly descended toward the spire. Draxon pulls Soul Calibur back and began charging up with pure light. The crystal Keyblade glows brighter and brigher until it was completely blue, illuminating the spire with it's light in contrast with the red light from the dark orb. Once Soul Calibur was fully charged, Draxon throws the shining Keyblade up towards the dark energy sphere. The crystal Keyblade flies into the dark orb and destroys it, causing a large explosion above the dark castle. The shockwave from the explosion blasts the Dark Echo back and shook the fortress violently. Draxon, Ember, and Flame stumble around from the rumbling, but they were able to maintain their balance. Once the shaking stops, the heroes look up to see that the blast had stunned the Dark Echo.
Seizing this chance, Draxon made the final move that would finish the fight. He takes hold of Soul Calibur with both hands and aims it up at the Dark Echo. A ball of light appears on the tip of the crystal Keyblade as it charges up with pure energy. Soon, a powerful beam of light was fired at the shadowy wraith, blasting through it's chest. The Dark Echo wails in agony from the light-based attack and it vanishes in a puff of darkness. With the evil wraith defeated, it's spectral light diminishes and the darkness lifts.
With the fight now over, Draxon de-summons his Keyblade and lets out an exhausted sigh.
"Phew! That was rough." Draxon says
"Yeah. But at least we sent that Dark Wraith and the Heartless packing." Ember says
"Mew." Mew says nodding in agreement
"Now, can we go home?" Sparx says
Just as the group turns around back to the elevator to leave, the castle starts to shake violently again. The nearby towers surrounding the spire began to break apart and collapse.
"The castle's coming down!" Flame exclaims
"Time to go!" Draxon says
Ember and Flame flap their wings and take to the air. Mew transforms into a Salamence, giving Draxon a ride. The heroes take off and fly away from the castle. Once they've gotten to a safe distance, they turn and look back to watch the entire fortress collapse and disappear in a gigantic cloud of smoke.
"Well, nobody's gonna be using that castle anytime soon." Flame says
"Come on! Let's head back to Warfang!" Draxon says
And so, having completed their mission, Draxon, Salamence, Ember, Flame, and Sparx left Concurrent Skies and began their flight back to the Dragon City of Warfang.
(Later that evening)
Draxon, Mew, Ember, Flame, and Sparx were now back at the Dragon Temple, giving their report to Terrador, Volteer, Cyril, and Hunter near the Pool of Visions.
"The Dark Wraith and the Heartless have been forced out of Concurrent Skies." Draxon says
"We've observed your progress through the Pool of Visions. Excellent work. All of you." Terrador says
"Yes yes. A well-deserved pat on the back. But now that the Ancient Grove and Concurrent Skies are clear of those vile creatures, that leaves us with only one place left." Cyril says
"The Well of Souls." Terrador says
"But now it seems that the Dark Wraith and the Heartless are lying low. Which means we'll have to wait until they surface again." Hunter says
"And when they do, we'll be ready to march on the Mountain of Malefor!" Flame says
"Well, now that my mission here is done, I'd best be off." Draxon says pointing back at the exit with his right-thumb
"Okay. We'll be waiting until you get back." Flame says
"Tell Roxas and Xion we said hi!" Ember says
Draxon smiles and nods his head. He then turns and leaves with Mew right behind him.
(Twilight Town)
Draxon and Mew were the first to arrive in Twilight Town at their usual spot at the top of the clock tower. Draxon sat along the ledge while Mew floated next to him on his right. Both of them had Sea-salt ice cream in their hands, or paws in Mew's case. They were soon joined by Roxas, who had finished his mission in Neverland.
"Hey, Roxas." Draxon greets
"Hey." Roxas greets
Roxas walks over and sits down next to Draxon's left. He, too, had his own ice cream in his hand. The trio sat quietly together, eating their ice cream. Neither Xion nor Axel joined them on that day.
Author's Note: Despite Xion being forcibly taken in by Axel's actions, Draxon and Roxas continue their missions for the Organization. Draxon travels to Berk with Roxas and they both visit Dragon Island, where the epic battle with the Red Death commenced. They even catch a glimpse of the large skeleton of the dragon. Then, Draxon travels to the Dragon Realms and visits Cynder's Lair in Concurrent Skies, where he, Mew, Ember, Flame, and Sparx engage in another epic battle with the Dark Echo and the Heartless. Not much further now. With every chapter complete, we are nearing the end of Days of Memories. Let me know what you guys think. No flames please. Hope you guys like and don't forget to review!
