Mama Yang Hero Academia-34
The desert sky was clear as two bald eagles soared through it, as the city of Las Vegas began to come into view. The streets were bustling with activity and motion of its citizens, going from place to place, into Casinos and other establishments. But the peace was soon disturbed when an explosion erupted from the King's Casino, in which two forms rushed out of the smoke, one of them being a large eight limbed beast of a man, six arms and two legs with turquoise blue skin, and a leather mask on his face, and spiked straps on his chest, keeping his pants up as he ran on all eight limbs.
The second was a twig of a man wearing a red mask with a white A, on the forehead, running down over his eyes. His suit was red, and high collared, with a white circle on the abdomen, with white sprouting from the circle to the shoulders and legs, going down his arms and thighs before wrapping around his forearms and calves. He rode on his partner's back laughing like a maniac.
"It's a villain. Get off the streets." Someone shouted.
"Ten million dollars just like that. I love this job." The twig of a man exclaimed.
"Up ahead." His partner called out in a gruff voice.
"Huh?" The brains of the operation looked forward, to see a police barricade forming. The officers all got out of the cars, and aiming their guns at the villains, with a couple Pro-Heroes coming to the scene.
"Your crime spree ends here." The hero with electrical powers shouted. "Stand Down."
Sending off an electrical blast, the attack hit the multi-limbed villain, pushing him back a bit, before he broke through and kept pressing forward.
"You're up Cow Lady." He said to the woman with bull horn on her head, taking a running start.
She began running towards the villains as they broke through the attack, leaping through the air, making an attempt at escaping.
"Y'all are finished." Cow Lady said, turning into a raging bull, running towards them.
"Go ahead and try to stop us." The villain in red declared, his arms turning into missile launchers, firing a couple of missiles at the heroes.
The attacks had knocked the heroes back, and disoriented the police quite a bit, allowing the villains to make their escape after the getaway runner landed on the side of a building, then jumped down, over the heroes and police, running towards the busier streets.
Leaping through the air again, the villain was about to land on top of a car with a family of four inside. The children and parents were scarred for their lives.
"Don't stop. Just crush them." The villain with the weaponry Quirk stated.
Out of nowhere, came a hulking musclebound man, with golden lightning sparking around his feet, leaping towards the villains and slammed his fist into the monstrous villain's torso, sending the duo flying back, causing an explosive fire to erupt, saving the family from being crushed and killed.
The family in the car looked up from their positions of fear, and saw, instead of the oncoming form of their doom, the man who saved them, his Leathermans billowing in the air of the flames erupting from the villain's impact.
"Fear not citizens, everything is fine." The voice of the young hero said, before turning to look at them, with a bright smile on his face. "You're safe, because I am here."
The two kids in the backseat of the car smiled brightly, seeing his fearless smile, which told them everything would be all right.
Toshinori saw the two girls in the back seat, and his mind flashed back to when he saw Scythe, stuck to the flower that All-for-One had used to contain her. The forms of her and his master growing farther away from view, as Gran Torino takes him away from the island.
'I won't let anything like that happen again. I promise.' Toshinori thought, keeping his smile, while turning back to the villains.
"Really? An' just who the hell do you think you are?" The villain with the weaponry Quirk exclaimed pulling some burning money off his forehead.
"A hero from Japan, who just so happened to be passing by." Toshinori exclaimed, his hands on his hips.
"Ha, I'll send you back home in a coffin." The villain said, before turning his arms into rocket launchers, firing two missiles at him. "If they can find your remains."
Toshinori crossed his arms, and with One-for-All empowering them, he swung his arms in an X chop formation, with the wind pressure causing the missiles to lose trajectory, and slam into one another, before exploding in the air above him and the civilians.
"I'm sorry, what was that threat… again?" Toshinori asked, looking up, only to see the villains gone before he turned to his left and spotted them jumping through the city. "Running away already?"
From out behind the crowd came a car that looked like it belonged on the Indy500 raceway, jumped through the air and over traffic, with a young man driving it, his almond brown hair blowing through the wind that sped past him.
"You got ahead of yourself Toshi." He called out before the car landed and skid to a halt, allowing for Toshinori to hop in.
"They're fast, follow them Dave." Toshinori stated.
"You're impossible, your body always moves before you think." Dave said switching on a booster mode for the car, and sped away, chasing after the villains, as a drone was following the duo of law breakers. Following the drone's directions, the duo of crime fighters, took a short cut, and went racing towards the villains.
"Hey, some weird car is following us." The goliath of the villains stated.
"Damn these heroes." The skinny villain said, firing another two rockets at them.
David just fired a rocket of his own to intercept, which broke apart, creating tones of strange bubbles that somehow managed to contain the blasts of the missiles launched at them.
"You're kidding me." The villain said shouting in anger, and slamming his fist down.
As the villains continued to make their getaway, Toshinori jumped onto the hood of the car, kneeling on one legs, while preparing to jump.
"Toshi, we're gonna be late for the lecture, hurry up and finish this." David said.
"That's the plan, obviously." Toshinori said, leaping from the car, causing it to skid back a bit.
Leaping through the air like a rocket, Toshinori caught up to the villains in no time, driving them up the wall, literally and figuratively.
"You just don't give up, do you?" The missile villain asked, launching more explosives at him. This time it was nearing double digits.
"Detroit Smash." Toshinori called out, punching the air, causing all of the explosives to collide with one another and go off, before he planted his feet on the side of a building and pushed off, gliding through the smokescreen, with a confident smile until he passed another building, and noticed three missiles coming his way, and they were too close for him to properly fend off with an attack. The best he could do was swing with a One-for-All empowered arm, and get caught in the blazing explosion, not taking too much damage since they didn't hit him directly.
From out of the blaze, came Toshinori, in his All Might costume that had been made for him especially by David.
'Now for an ultimate move.' He thought as the villains came charging at him. 'Dave, I named this one after your home state.'
"Do it." Dave smiled with a thumbs up.
"California: SMASH." All Might shouted, spinning forward with his legs tucked in, before he unfurled himself, and threw a punch at the villain's brawn. Sending both of them rocketing to the ground below, creating an uproar of wind and money blowing through the streets.
"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha." All Might laughed triumphantly standing atop a building, gaining the people's attention.
"Who's that hero?" Someone from down below questioned.
"I've never seen him." A woman said, sounding like she was swooned.
"That was incredible." Another bystander said.
"He's an exchange student, visiting the States from Japan." David said, pulling up next to the scene of the villain's defeat. "You can call him by his hero name, All Might."
"His name's All Might?" The two heroes from earlier, and a citizen, questioned, looking up at where All Might stood.
"Take him in. Someday that name will be known by everyone in the world." David exclaimed. "Someday, he will become our Symbol of Peace."
Later on, as David was driving down the freeway, All Might began chatting it up with him.
"Thanks for the help Dave." Toshinori said. "Because of the suit you made, that was a synch, and we'll make it back to class on time."
"Well we'd better. If we're late again, I doubt we'd be able to pass the course." David exclaimed.
"*Alert, flight UA-857 has been hijacked! I repeat, flight UA-857 has been hijacked!*" a voice said over the police scanner in the car.
"Did you hear that?" All Might questioned.
"It's too risky man." Dave said.
All Might just looked at Dave with an intent in his eyes that said he was not going to give up, and that he would take the risk, with or without Dave's help. Finally Dave crumbled and submitted to agreeing to the job.
"You know for a good guy, you are way too reckless." Dave said, flipping a few switches, and sending the car into flight mode.
"That mean you'll help me?" All Might asked.
"Guess so." Dave smiled as the drone came back and attached to the car, finishing flight mode. "Ah, who knew that being a hero would be so much work?" Dave asked jokingly.
"Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha. Don't worry I'll buy you lunch." All Might laughed.
~Reality~
"Grandpa Toshi, hey Grandpa Toshi wake up." Scythe's said, shaking Toshinori awake from his memory/dream.
"Something the matter Scythe?" Toshinori questioned rubbing his eyes after his snot bubble popped.
"Scythe I told you to leave your grandfather alone." Yang exclaimed sitting in the seats across their isle.
"Look, we can see it." Scythe said, looking out the window, as they spotted I-Island. "Right there. The floating city that can move anywhere, home to over ten thousand scientists. I-Island, I can't believe this is where I get to start my summer vacation it's so amazing." She smiled, holding up an Expo guide book.
"I didn't realize that you'd be this excited Scythe. I'd have thought Ruby would though." Toshinori chuckled looking out the window with her. "I'm glad Melissa extended the invites."
"Too bad Blake didn't want to come." Yang said as Jack was sleeping against Ruby, as the young reaper held her close in a one armed hug as she read from her tablet.
Jack was dressed in a yellow tank top, with a pair of jean shorts, and flats on her feet, with her hair grown a bit longer, and in a tied in a short ponytail.
"You're really taking to the whole mothering role, aren't ya Ruby?"
"No less than you when Scythe first became a part of the family." Ruby chuckled looking up momentarily to her sister, in response to the teasing. "Besides, take a look at her hair."
Yang looked closely and saw a small tint of red in Jack's bangs, looking her over, Yang also noticed some small cartilage spikes starting to poke out from the young ripper's ears.
"Holy crap, she's actually blood related to you now?" Yang asked.
"Thanks to Venom, when we last had Gwen over, during the house warming party we had when we finished movin in. Though the command seals are still here, she's my daughter by blood now." Ruby smiled, before she yawned. "I'm a bit tired. I should have gotten more sleep last night."
"We did get on an overnight flight." Toshinori chuckled. "But then again, these seats aren't the most comfortable to sleep in. It's doable, but hard."
"At least we all got to ride in the same plane." Yang said. "It was nice of the Expo directors to arrange that, since Scythe gave her invite from the scientist to Ruby."
Bing-"Attention passengers, the plane will soon begin its decent to I-Island." The pilot said.
"Once we've landed and gone out in public, we'll need to be quick. Melissa said we were to keep Scythe out of the public eye at all times until she give her the surprise she said she had for her. Which means no Argonaut form until after that." Toshinori said, growing into his All Might form, and removing his jacket, to reveal his suit. "An' no hero costume either. It'll be too recognizable since you wore it in the Sports Festival. Yang, Ruby, it's about time for you to change into your costumes."
"Alright dad." Yang said as she and Ruby got up.
"Understood grandpa Toshi." Scythe said, wearing a baggy hoodie, a bit too big for her.
After the two girls had changed into their hero costumes, the plane began to descend on down to I-Island's platform, before landing. After they were given the green lights to get up, the family moved out of the plane and went through the I-Island Airport/Entrance.
"*We will now begin the immigration process.*" An announcer exclaimed over the loud speaker as the doors opened up for the five were brought in through the moving sidewalk.
"Mommy, are we at I-Island?" Jack asked Ruby.
"We are indeed." Ruby said. "Hold tight to mommy's hand, so we don't get separated."
"Let's test your trivia." All Might said. "Why was this artificial island created?"
"It was built so the world's brightest minds could gather together, to research Quirks and develop new support items." Ruby said, while Scythe was just off looking around.
'This island seems familiar somehow. Like I've been here before but, not in a good way.' Scythe thought.
"They made the island moveable to protect their scientists and top secret research from villains. It's got a security system on par with the one at Tartarus Prison. So basically no one has ever committed a crime here." Yang added, explaining the security details.
"*The immigration inspection is now complete. The island is currently holding the pre-opening of I-Expo. An event that showcases research and development projects our teams have been working on. Only those with invitations may attend the preview.*"
The family of heroes came out to see the spectacle of the show going on, and Jack was excited to go and see all the cool and fun exhibits and activities that can be done.
"I can't believe so many people are here before the expo is officially open to the public." All Might said.
"No way, the pictures of this place don't do it any justice." Yang smiled, holding Scythe back as she tried to run off to the nearest activity.
"Unlike back in Japan, people are allowed to use their Quirks however they wish on this island." All Might explained. "The pavilions are jam packed with attractions and demonstrations. Make some time for them later."
"We will." Ruby said as she was keeping Jack from running off to.
"Now let's see, the hotel should be nearby." All Might said, looking at his card.
"Welcome to I-Expo." A hostess said walking up to them before she recognized them all. "Huh, is that you All Might? You even have your family with you?" She asked, stars in her eyes.
"Are they really here?" Another hostess asked.
"Wow the #1 Hero and his family." A third exclaimed.
"We need an interview." A reporter said as she and her crew rushed to them.
"Let's get closer." The camera man said.
"Oh crap." Yang said as people started surrounding them wanting autographs and to shake their hands.
"Thank you so much for the warm welcome." All Might said, putting Scythe and Jack on his shoulders to keep them out of harms was from the crowd. "Form a line for autographs please, and stop crowding around me as well, you're scarring my granddaughters."
"What's going on Grandpa Might?" Jack asked holding onto his arm.
"Everything's fine Jackie, they're just excited to see us here." All Might said calling her by the nickname he gave her, as the crowd lessened and turned into a line for autographs.
Later after a few hours, All Might and the others were standing around with Yang and Ruby breathing heavily from how exhausting that was, with Scythe and Jack by their sides.
"Oh wow I didn't think we'd get stopped for so long. I'm afraid at this point we're in terrible danger of being late." All Might said his face covered in lipstick kisses.
"I think you have more pressing matters to concern yourself with." Yang said standing up straight. "For instance, Rei is gonna flip, if she sees you with all those kisses on your face."
"I know, I know, I'm wiping them off now." All Might said, using his sleeve, while Scythe hopped back up on his shoulder to help with a wet-nap. "Thanks kiddo."
"Late to what?" Ruby asked.
"I wanna know to." Jack said cutely.
"Ah, I wanted to drop in on your Uncle David, I haven't seen him in quite a while. He doesn't know we're here, Melissa invited us to surprise him. Sorry to spring it on you all, but would you mind coming along?" All Might asked turning to look at them.
"You mean I'll get to meet Uncle David for the first time?" Ruby asked.
"Obviously we're going. The man is practically our uncle, and despite the fake backstory we gave to the public, and the general media, he hasn't seen us once." Yang stated. "I'm honestly quite surprised we've been able to keep our origins from Remnant a secret."
"By the way I haven't told him about One-for-All, or how I've passed the Quirk onto the both of you. So keep everything under wraps okay?" All Might asked.
"Whoa, not even Uncle David knows?" Ruby asked.
"Danger tends to follow anyone who knows the truth about One-for-All. The more people who know about it, the higher the chances of its secrets and origins are revealed, also how it's passed along. Speaking of which, there's something we need to talk about in the hotel later." Yang said, turning to All Might.
"Okay I get it now. It's for his own safety." Ruby said.
Scythe's ears perked up, and she turned her head looking behind All Might, before turning around fully, spotting someone coming to them on a pogo stick with the pogo spring on the back and the body of the device looking like a bike's. Her smile brightened when she saw who it was coming down the steps on the pogo stick.
"Melissa." Scythe cheered, jumping from All Might's shoulder, before greeting Melissa in a bit of a tackle hug, causing the blonde girl to laugh a bit as they laid on the ground, hugging one another.
"It's good to see you to Scythe." Melissa smiled.
"I'm a little upset with what you did to my costume. I'm not like Midnight you know." Scythe grumbled looking up at her.
"I'm sorry. I promise, the surprise I have will be more than enough to make it up to you." Melissa smiled as she sat up, before All Might helped her to her feet.
"We're truly grateful for the invitation Melissa." All Might smiled. "It's been a few months. How've you been? You look like you've lost a bit of weight."
"I have. I've spent that last few months trying to fix a problem, I kinda got obsessed with it, and I hadn't been taking proper care of myself until recently when I found the solution." Melissa said, before she was moved an inch, and looked down to see Scythe with her arms around her waist, and her face buried into her torso. "What's the matter sweetie?"
"Why'd you have to go and do that? I don't like it." Scythe grumbled, not bothering to look up at her.
"Huh?" Melissa asked.
"I think she means, she doesn't like that you were inadvertently harming yourself Melissa." Yang said coming to her fellow blonde. "You're a valued member of this family, which means you're one of us. She cares about, we all do."
"Oh, I'm sorry Scythe." Melissa said hugging her. "I didn't mean to make you upset. I promise I won't do that again."
"Good." Yang smiled.
"Hey Melissa, it's nice to finally meet face to face." Ruby said, greeting her. "I'm Ruby."
"It's nice to meet you. Who's this?" Melissa asked looking to Jack.
"Oh, this is my daughter, Jack, or Jackie as we like to call her." Ruby smiled. "Originally she was adopted, but thanks to our friend Gwen, and her symbiote, she's now my own flesh and blood."
"Hi Jack. It's nice to meet you." Melissa smiled. "I think Yang has told me about you over our phone calls."
"Nice to meet you to." Jack said with a polite little bow.
"Hey Melissa, where's Dave hiding at?" All Might questioned.
"Oh he's in his lab." Melissa smiled, putting a hand on Scythe's head as she hadn't let go of the hug yet. "He had a breakthrough on some research he's been focusing on for years." Melissa said. "Hold on, Scythe, Ruby can you stand over there for a moment please?"
Scythe and Ruby looked to each other, before stepping a few paces over as Melissa removed Scythe's sweater, showing she was wearing her hero costume.
"When did you put that on?" Yang asked.
"I've been wearing it since we left the airport last night." Scythe said before entering her Argonaut form.
Melissa began circling around the both of them, noting their support items, and how Ruby's costume design was unique and not like any she had seen before. Then she found the scars on Scythe's arm.
"I should probably make you some support gear and do some upgrades to your suit a bit." She said, running a hand along the scar that went all the way around her shoulder. "Look at you, chastising me about being safe, and taking proper care of myself, when you were extremely reckless in the sports festival."
"Ahem, Melissa, shall we?" All Might asked.
"Oh sorry. I got distracted." Melissa said, turning the upgraded pogo stick into a pocket sized device. "If we hurry, we can surprise Papa in his lab. This way everyone, it's right over here."
"Wait up Melissa." Yang said as they followed her.
"By the way Yang, I love what you've done with your hair. It really suits you." Melissa smiled.
"Thanks."
~Airport/Island Entrance~
It was bustling around the airport as people were coming and going. Though there was one group of eight, who should have drawn attention to themselves, but since the island had mainly been peaceful, it was no surprise that they weren't drawing a crowd, as the leader rang up someone's number.
"We infiltrated the Expo without a problem. So, when do the goods arrive?" The man asked, his contractor.
"3Pm. You'll find them at Gate66." A robotic voice, said.
"Then we'll be waiting." He said, putting his phone down. "New guy. You'd better be ready for your first job as a member of my crew."
"Yes sir, Wolfram sir." The familiar voice of a corpse said.
~Center of the Island Laboratories I-Island Tower~
David Shield stood idly in his lab, looking at a picture of All Might from their university days, in the first suit he made for his friend. When seeing that photo, he began to reminisce about the first time they met after the explosion in his lab caused a fire.
"Excuse me, um Professor?" Someone asked coming into the lab gaining his attention. "I've finished putting the equipment away, just so you know."
"Already? Thanks so much Sam." David smiled.
"Why don't you get out of the lab today and get some lunch with Melissa?" Sam questioned.
"She's busy today at the academy. Though I'm relieved she's started taking better care of herself over the past few days." David said.
"Oh, I thought they were on break for I-Expo?" Sam questioned.
"Yes, but she's doing independent research." David said, not noticing Melissa standing in the doorway to her lab.
"You know me, I am my father's daughter." Melissa smiled. "For better and for worse."
"Melissa hey." David said.
"Hello Miss, it's so good to see you." Sam said.
"Aw, right back at ya Sam." Melissa said, though she was lying. He gave her the creeps whenever he was around her, and he always looked at her funny. "Thanks for always taking care of Papa, since he does nothing but work here constantly."
"C'mon I'm not that bad." David tried to argue as Sam laughed a bit.
"Melissa says you are. Here have a ham and cheese sandwich." Scythe said, holing up a paper plate to him with four triangle slices. "You look like you haven't eaten in a few days."
"Oh thanks." David said, taking a triangle. He was about to take a bite into in when he realized someone else was in the room with them. He looked down to whoever offered him the sandwich and just starred dumbly at Scythe.
"Hi." She smiled.
"Scythe?" David questioned.
"That's not all." Melissa smiled looking behind her.
David followed her gaze, and his eyes widened with shock.
"Yes. I am here. Shaking with emotion for our heartfelt reunion." All Might cheered posing as dramatically as ever.
"Toshi-All Might." David said in shock.
"Is it really you?" Sam questioned.
All Might just laughed before he rushed over to David, and pulled him into a giant hug, swinging him about like a ragdoll. He dropped the sandwich, but Scythe caught it on the paper plate before it could hit the ground.
"I came all this way, just to see you Dave old buddy." All Might said.
"Dad do you have to be so dramatic?" Yang asked with an exasperated sigh, shaking her head.
"Well Papa are you totally surprised?" Melissa asked. "I brought them all here."
"It's nice to finally meet face to face." Yang smiled.
"You look a lot younger than your scientific profile suggests." Ruby said. "Technically though, Melissa didn't bring me. I came because Scythe handed me an invite from a scientist who wants to swap notes and look at my tech. But it's nice to meet you in person."
"Hi Uncle Shield." Jack smiled waving at him cutely.
"Uh, yeah. I'm completely astounded." David smiled. "It's great to meet you all finally. All Might has told me so many things about you all. I'm honored to be in your presence."
"We both have Melissa to thank for that. Man how long has it been?" All Might questioned.
"Aw come on. Don't make me say it, I already feel old enough you jerk." David smiled before they both started laughing.
"You do have a point." All Might exclaimed. "Glad to see you again, my friend."
"Agreed. I've missed you to." David smiled as they fist bumped. "An' it's nice to finally meet your family in person."
"I'm sorry about that. I'll catch you up to speed on things later." All Might said before David turned to his friend's family.
"Listen, it's been a long time since All Might and I had an opportunity to chat like this. Why don't the rest of you go out and enjoy the Expo, give the two of us a chance to catch up?" David inquired.
"Sure, we'll see you at the dinner party tonight." Yang smiled.
"I'll see you all there. I'll be sure to let you know if All Might, tells me any embarrassing stories about your childhoods." David chuckled. "Melissa, why don't you take them on a tour around the expo, don't you have a surprise for Scythe waiting for her?"
"Sure thing Papa sounds like fun. An' I'm sure Scythe will like her surprise very much, I've been working on it for a while now." Melissa smiled
"He'd better not tell you any embarrassing stories." Ruby exclaimed. 'It was embarrassing enough to have to tell him any at all to make things move convincing for our backstory, of being his daughters.'
"Sam, you should take a break to. Go get some lunch." David said.
"Right." Sam said, following the others out the door.
"Grandpa Toshi." Scythe said, showing she was still there.
"Scythe, I thought you were going with Melissa to your surprise?" All Might questioned, deflating a bit.
"I just gotta ask something. Was this island…" Scythe paused, in asking her question, since it was a bit of a sore spot for her because it brought up bad memories.
"Yes Scythe. This was All-for-One's island before the governments took it over and turned it into a paradise of innovation and invention." Toshinori said, realizing her question. "Now get going, Melissa has that surprise for you I'm sure you're dying to get."
Scythe nodded, before she ran out the door, closing it behind her.
"She knows about All-for-One? Are you sure it was a good idea to tell her about that?" David questioned.
"I didn't tell her about him entirely. She mainly found out on her own." Toshinori said. "Do you remember when I told you about how my master, and an innocent little girl died at All-for-One's hands when we went to face him in that fight years back?"
"I remember, it took me months of convincing you that it wasn't your fault." David said.
"Well, turns out my granddaughter's control over time, far exceeded any of our expectations." Toshinori exclaimed.
"What are you saying Toshi?" David inquired.
"She's able to travel through time David. That little girl during the fight was her. She fought All-for-One alongside my master after she had sent me away, that's how she got that scar over her eye." Toshinori said tapping the right side of his face around the eye. "She traveled back in time, and brought my master to the future, to prevent her death. All because she wanted to make me smile."
"Wait a minute Toshinori, do you even realize how crazy you sound right now?" David asked.
"I know it sounds like I'm losing my mind. But I'm telling you the honest truth." Toshinori said. "No body was found when the wreckage of the fight was sifted through. Scythe found a loophole in the timeline that she took advantage of, which prevented a paradox from happening when she brought my master to the present."
"Toshinori, do you realize the potential this could have for saving lives, going back in time and…"
"No." Toshinori said firmly. "Scythe barely survived the fight against All-for-One. I will not allow her to risk her life like that again if need be. She wants to be a hero, then I'll support her. But I will not allow her to go back in time and destroy her future by messing with the past."
"But all the people she could save…"
"Please Dave." Toshinori said, interrupting David's argument. "I don't want to risk losing her, not again. I thought she was lost during that battle so many years ago. Please… just drop it."
"Alright." David said looking at him after a moment of intense silence passed between them. "If you don't want to risk it, then I won't bring it up again."
"Thank you."
~With Melissa and the others~
"So what should I call you Ruby? Your hero name I mean." Melissa asked.
"Oh, call me Scarlet Huntress." Ruby said.
"So where are we going Melissa?" Yang inquired.
"We're going to meet a friend of mine." Melissa smiled. "His name is Jason Smith, though because he's constantly wearing a red hoodie, we compare him to the old DC Comic Book Villain/Anti-Hero, Red Hood. That's actually his nickname. He's a fellow support course student."
"Huh, what are we meeting up with him for?" Ruby inquired.
"You'll see when we get there." Melissa smiled as they neared a lab. "We're in the lower eastern end parts of the building now, so we're in the academy at this point. This is the lab my class works out of."
The door opened and they all stepped into the near empty lab. The only things occupying the lab, besides them, were a young man with blonde hair in a red hood, and a mannequin covered by a white sheet.
"Everyone, this is Red Hood." Melissa smiled.
"Pleasure to meet you all." He smiled bowing his head forward a bit.
"He's a student deriving from Canada. He's got a brilliant mind, Papa said he's about as smart as he was when he had been Jason's age." Melissa explained.
"Well, let's get this show on the road." Ruby stated.
"Alright if you insist." Jason said with a chuckle. "Which one of you is Scythe?"
"That's be me." Scythe said, raising her arm.
"Alright, step up for me please." Jason smiled.
Scythe stepped up to him, as Jason got down to being at eye level with her, before he raised his hand, and flicked Scythe in the forehead, causing the kid to step back, and rub it.
"Hey what was that for?" Ruby questioned putting her hands on Scythe's shoulders to stabilize the child.
"You might wanna check Scythe over before you start screaming at Red Hood." Melissa stated. "There's a sanitary bathroom for the students who can't be gone long right over there."
Ruby and Yang looked to one another, before Yang took Scythe over to the bathroom Melissa pointed at while Ruby just looked at Jason with a slight growl.
"What was that forehead flick for?" Ruby questioned.
"My Quirk is one that just solved Melissa's problem that has been eating away at her sanity during this project of her." Jason said.
"Under this tarp is a suit for Scythe I'd been working on since I returned to I-Island. I finished it last night. But I didn't want to give it to them, until Scythe had been returned to normal. So the project I had been inadvertently hurting myself over, was how to turn Scythe back into a boy." Melissa explained.
"My Quirk allows me to swap anyone's gender from one to the other with a flick to the forehead. Depending on how hard I flick the forehead depends on how much I change. With how hard I flicked Scythe, it was a fully body change, restoring the kid back to a full boy. No traces of the female form left in him." Jason explained.
"So wait… you mean…"
The bathroom door burst open, and Yang came rushing out, before pulling Jason into a spine crushing hug.
"Thank you." Yang said, swinging him around as Scythe joined them. "I don't know how your Quirk works, but what you did was incredible. Thank you so much for returning my boy to his original form."
"No… problem… can you let go now…? Need O2." Jason said.
"Oh, right sorry. I'm just so happy, Scythe is my son again." Yang smiled, putting Jason down.
"I'm glad I could be of some help." Jason smiled. "Now if you'll excuse me, since my work here is done, I'm gonna go enjoy the Expo."
"See you later Jason." Melissa smiled as Yang pulled out her scroll. "What are you doing?"
"Texting Blake, all my friends and former classmates that Scythe is back to being a boy." Yang said.
"I'm texting Weiss, Pyrrha, and Blake's parents." Ruby said.
"Glad to see it made you all so happy." Melissa smiled. "Now, down to business from me."
Melissa grabbed the tarp over the mannequin, and removed it, showing what was hidden underneath it.
The suit that Melissa had been cooking up was comprised of a single piece black sleeveless leotard, with a belt around the waist, armored leg guards, and vambraces, the boots were steel toed with armored platting along the shins but looked like they were made of an extremely thin alloy. The vambraces looked like they were made of an extremely thin alloy like the boots, and went over the knuckles and through the fingers.
"Whoa." Scythe said with a bright smile.
"The boots and vambraces are made of an alloy I designed to be able to withstand three full powered punches and leaps from Uncle Might's power. As I said the limit they can withstand before breaking is three, so use them sparsely. I saw how Scythe wrecked his body during the Sports Festival and thought to add these to the suit. They're not perfect, but they should do the trick until I can make the alloy stronger without weighing someone down." Melissa said, grabbing her bag from behind the mannequin.
From out of the bag, a familiar book dropped out of the front pocket, onto the floor. Melissa's face blushed extremely red when she saw Scythe look at the cover as he picked it up.
"You bought Hero's Passion, to huh?" Scythe asked. "Mom do you have a pen?"
"Here you go sweetie." Yang sighed handing him the pen.
"Huh?" Melissa questioned as Scythe wrote down in it.
"He… wrote that book." Ruby said as Scythe handed it back to her.
"Speaking of which, Scythe you got a letter in the mail yesterday. Kali gave it to me when she picked us up for the airport." Yang said, taking the letter out of her back pocket. "There's a big book store in Tokyo who wants you to make an appearance for a convention based all around your book. They want you to say a few words, and even sign some autographs. Your book is that big."
"Huh." Scythe thought. "I don't know. I'll think on it."
"Hold on." Melissa said. "Scythe is the one who wrote my all-time favorite love story?"
"Didn't know it was your favorite. But yeah. He wrote it, and we all found out in our special class yesterday." Ruby said, her phone going off like crazy. "Huh, Pyrrha and Weiss are over the moon about Scythe returning to normal, Kali and Ghira to."
"Mitsuki says she and Inko are gonna throw a celebration party when we return, Midnight and Mt. Lady will be joining. An' I'm getting a lot of messages from everyone in the class saying how happy they are. Especially Uraraka."
"I got a message from her saying that to." Scythe said. "Eh, just because I'm a boy again, don't mean we can't still be friends."
"So, you're a boy now?" Jack asked walking around him, and poking his cheek.
"Eh, yeah so what if I am?" Scythe asked, jumping back from her. "I mean I was a boy to begin with. Just some sick perv tried having his way with me after turning me into a girl." Scythe said as Jack began playing with his ears. "Hey cut that out."
"Uh-oh. I think someone's getting a little flustered around a girl." Yang teased.
"Shut up I am not." Scythe complained as they all laughed around him.
~Blake and Eri~
"Scythe, is back to being a boy? Oh man, they found a way to reverse Ochuna's Quirk." Blake smiled as she sat on the park bench, with a book in her hand, while also keeping an eye on Eri.
"Mama, what's up? You're smiling a lot more than normal." Eri pointed out.
"Well Eri, remember how Yang and I explained to you Scythe was a boy, before he was a girl?" Blake inquired as Eri sat beside her.
"Yeah. I remember." She smiled.
"Well, they found a way to turn him back into a boy. So he's no longer your big sister, but your big brother." Blake explained.
"That's great." Eri smiled.
Far back near the edge of the park, Skewer was leaning against the tree, listening in close to the conversation, while also thinking up a way to get Sombra away from Eri.
'Chisaki, this is gonna cost you more. You didn't tell me their parents were Huntress and Sombra. Her Shadow Dragonslayer Quirk, is known to be one of the most powerful, and it's impossible to outrun. The one thing that's faster than light, is a shadow, and that's what she basically is. I need a distraction.' Skewer thought, before he spotted something across the street. Standing by a convenience store, was a fellow he recognized from serving his nickel in the slammer. They had been cellmates. The guy's Quirk was one that wasn't easily controllable, and Skewer knew the exact pressure point needed to send him on a rampage. 'Perfect.' He smiled while using his Quirk to remain out of sight.
"So does this mean we can't take baths together anymore?" Eri asked.
"I'm sure he'll bathe with you if he wants to, but I'm pretty sure he'll feel embarrassed about it." Blake chuckled.
Their conversation was interrupted when the sound of an echoing roar, resonated through the air.
Blake turned around, as she grabbed Eri into a hug, and looked to see a villain going on a rampage, looking like a giant Silver Back gorilla with devil horns coming out of his forehead. Acting quickly, Blake took Eri away from the park, and hid her in an ally, before looking her directly in the eyes.
"Do not move from this spot, do you understand me?" Blake asked, getting a scarred nod from Eri in return. 'Damn it, I'm the only hero on the scene, I have to stall until others show.'
As soon as she left, Eri looked out the ally, to watch the fight go on. Never noticing the figure coming up from behind her.
'Sorry kid.' Skewer said, pulling a chloroform soaked handkerchief out of a plastic bag in his pocket. 'But I need the money from this job.'
Putting the sleep inducing drug soaked cloth over Eri's nose and mouth, Skewer pulled her towards him, and it instantly began to take effect, before Eri fell limp, and Skewer cradled her in his arms, before disappearing to where he had parked his car. Putting her in the back seat, and tying her up in rope with a blanket over her to keep any cops that might pull him over, from noticing this was a kidnapping.
Digging into his cup holders, Skewer dialed up Chisaki's number, allowing it to ring a couple times before it was answered.
"I got Eri, the other kid is on I-Island, but there's been a snag." Skewer said. "Apparently, she used to be a boy, who was the victim of a gender swapping Quirk user and turned into a girl. He's been turned back into a boy. Still go as planned?"
"Plan hasn't changed. Bring Eri here, and we'll give you what you need to control the boy." Chisaki said. "Good work Skewer."
"One more thing." Skewer said. "You didn't tell me Sombra was her other parent. That mistakes gonna cost you extra."
"Alright, you'll get your compensation when you receive the tool used for controlling the boy." Chisaki said before hanging up.
Throwing his phone to the passenger's seat, Skewer sighed and looked back at Eri through the rear view mirror.
'You know. With the blanket over her like that, she actually reminds me of Little Sasha.' Skewer thought.
