The next day Taina woke up dazed and confused. She was lying on a bed in an unfamiliar room. Cautiously, she looked around the room. There were bullet holes in one of the walls and she swore she saw a cockroach. Quickly standing up, she made her way to the bathroom. After she used it, she thought back to last night.
'Where's Sapphire? What is this place?' Taina thought to herself as she left the bathroom slightly annoyed by the lack of soap.
'I expected a better safe house but I'm not going to complain. As long as Joker and Harley don't find me then I'm okay right where I am. Still… there are bullet holes in the walls and the bedding is dirty. What is that on the sheets? Is that…? Nope! No. No. Don't even go there. Someone just spilled yogurt. It's yogurt!' Desperate to get her mind off the bedding, she walked over to the window. Cautiously she peeked out of it and looked outside. A sign with "Motel Inn" caught her eye. She looked around further and saw a bar across the street and a convenience store on the corner. Trash littered the ground and several people walked by. While Taina knew she was still in Gotham, she couldn't recognize which part. The last thing she remembers is Sapphire and her getting in a car and driving away from the Empire. Stepping away from the window, Taina carefully sat on the edge of the bed and watched some TV. Lacking cable TV, there were only twenty channels. Taina decided on some overly dramatic hospital soap opera. Suddenly the door opened and Sapphire walked in.
"You're awake. I got you something to eat." Sapphire said as she walked in holding a brown paper bag. She was wearing skinny jeans, a pink tank top, and black sneakers. Her blonde hair was pulled up into a ponytail. She handed the bag to Taina. Inside was a bagel with cream cheese and orange juice.
"Thanks," Taina said as she quickly took a bite and then a large sip of the orange juice. "I thought your hair was brown."
"It was a wig, Sweetie," Sapphire replied as she sat down next to Taina. They watched TV in silence for a moment before the door opened. Drew walked in and closed the door behind them. Drew and Taina's eyes met and there was a moment of silence before Drew broke it,
"What's up?"
"What are you doing here?" Taina asked as she stood up. Taking a step towards her Drew responded,
"Relax, babe, thi-"
"Get away from me!" Taina threw her empty orange juice bottle at him. Drew easily dodged it. Sapphire made no attempt to move instead preferring to watch the drama unfold before her. Drew roughly grabbed Taina by the arm and threw her on the bed. Taina kicked at Drew but hit Sapphire instead,
"What the fuck!" Sapphire yelled as she stood up and gave a harsh shove to Taina. Drew punched Taina in the face.
"Don't do that! Are you crazy? We don't want to give her to Joker all beat up. He might not give us the full million." Sapphire scolded Drew. Hearing those words, Taina began to struggle back fiercely. She gave Drew a hard slap. This enraged him and he wrapped his hands around her neck. Taina grabbed at his hands and tried to get them off her neck but no luck. Sapphire took the bottle of water from last night and forced the water in her mouth. Water splashed all over her face and hair. Water choked her and she began to cough as Drew removed his hands from her throat and pinned her down to the bed.
"Stop struggling!" Drew ordered as he held Taina down. Sapphire gave Taina a dirty look.
"Let me go." Taina wheezed as she tried to catch her breath. Her head began to feel fuzzy and body felt heavy.
"Ease off of her, Drew. It won't be long before she's knocked out." Sapphire said. Drew released his hold of her. Taina tried to move but could barely raise her head.
"What did you do to me?" Taina asked. She felt dizzy.
"You'll be fine. Just some sleeping pills." Drew grabbed Taina's hair and pressed his lips to hers. He roughly kissed her and began to pull her shirt up. The last thing Taina saw before passing out was Drew taking off his shirt and Sapphire looking down at her.
"You really want to do this?" Sapphire questioned Drew as he took Taina's shirt off revealing her breasts. She made no attempt to protect the girl's modesty. Instead, she ogled the girl as Drew roughly grabbed the girl's breast.
"If you don't like it, you can leave," Drew said as he unbuttoned Taina's pants.
"Normally I wouldn't care but I don't want there to be any marks on her. I don't want any reason for them not to pay us."
"I wasn't planning on leaving any hickies if that's your concern." Standing up, Sapphire reached into her purse and pulled out a condom.
"Here." Sapphire tossed the condom to Drew. He caught it.
"Thanks." Drew opened it. Sapphire watched him put the condom on. Taina lay completely naked on the bed. Feeling a surge of jealousy, she crossed her arms. A strong desire to touch Taina bubbled up inside her. Pushing it down, she said,
"I'm going to get her some clothes. Don't make too much noise and try to finish before I get back." Drew gave a nod of acknowledgment and Sapphire quickly left.
