Author's Note:

I know I promised you to finish this story, or at least give you a summary chapter to wrap things up, but I have honestly been in development hell.

I began this story way back in season one, and the following seasons and its abysmal conclusion have certainly colored my desire to finish this story with its intended end; but as I've pointed out, I'd hate to leave anything unfinished or at least without a semblance of a conclusion; so after three years, and eight years since the publication of the first chapter, here's an outline of the story's conclusion.

As for future stories if one's interested, please note, there are going to be some changes in 2020, hopefully, I will be actively publishing again and instead of starting and stopping numerous ideas I can begin publishing full-fledged stories.

However, I'm still undecided if I'll be using this platform to do it. I'm been favoring Archive of Our Own immensely for the last three years, and I find its publisher is far more advanced, allowing for images and audio to be embedded coupled with the site's far more extensive filter system, I'm able to read stories that cater to my preferences and interests, but also better reach my target audience.

I'll let you know, and now... on with the show.

With Cersei's arrest, the Castus army claims they are there to safeguard the king as previously Lannister men within the city outnumbered all other factions. The Targaryen faction allows the trial to go forward, primarily as a distraction as Aegon travels to Dorne meanwhile to win the support of his uncles and his mother's people, but also as they wish to for Lannister humiliation to be complete.

Tywin Lannister is called by the king to answer for his men's attack on the Riverlands and his daughter's actions, but Tywin refuses. It isn't until Jaime is captured by the northern forces summoned by Ned to the capital that Tywin agrees, though sends Tyrion back to Casterly Rock, who has joined his army after his captivity as his army ceases raiding the Riverlands.

Jaime is brought to the capital and delegates from Dorne arrive on the pretense of witnessing the Lannister's humiliation. Jaime is thrown into the black cells where he is eventually visited by Leila who confronts him about Bran's fall, which Jamie confirms and tearfully tries to apologize for, but Leila will not hear it.

Though still angry, Leila tries to save Jaime as she approaches Tywin, promising Jaime's life will be spared and he will be released from Kingsguard if only he agrees to condemn Cersei and framing someone else to be father, thereby acknowledge her adultery, and forgiving the crown's debt. Tywin refuses.

Cersei's trial goes ahead, but the evidence against her adultery is circumstantial, but her admittance to Ned does damn her, though Cersei tries to claim he's lying, though no one believes her. Cersei is further condemned when Lancel testifies that she gave him the wineskin of strong wine to try and kill Robert during his hunt.

By his admission, Lancel is only saved by Robert's wrath by Leila. Knowing she's doomed, Cersei calls for a trial by combat but is denied. Following this, Tywin approaches Leila about her previous offer and agrees, but one condition.

Jaime is moved to the highborn cells as he visited once more by Leila who asks him to prove his love as she reveals she's pregnant. The next day, Tywin publically condemns Cersei providing a minor Lannister cousin who confesses to being the father of her children, which Ned is forced to accept to remove the crown's debt to Lannisters.

When Jaime is brought forward, he surprisingly backups his father's claim to save the lives of children, especially Tommen and Myrcella. Jamie had originally refused to condemn his sister until Tywin's condition is revealed. Jamie will marry Leila, granting House Lannister the protection of House Castus from Robert.

With Cersei condemned, and Robert's sentence passed, sentencing Cersei to die, sending Joffrey to the Wall, Myrcella and Tommen to the faith and Jaime released from the Kingsguard as Cersei is set to die the next day.

Following Cersei's execution that morning, that night in the darkness, the combined forces of Dorne and Nightfall take control of the city, seizing Robert, his brothers, Tywin and his men in a relatively bloodless coup. By the morning, they are brought before the Iron Throne with Aegon, now Aegon VI sitting it.

Jon and Leila are revealed to Rhaegar's children as the lords present are called forward to swear allegiance. Ned is forced to choose between Robert and his blood but ultimately chooses his blood as Leila reminds him that the lone wolf dies but the pack survives. Swearing allegiance to Aegon and his niece and nephew, the North bends the knee to the Targaryens once more.

With the assurance that the deal brokered by Leila before the reveal still stands, and Jaime's true reason for killing Aerys is revealed, Aegon pardons him, and as such, the Westerlands, and though Tywin is to be turned over to Dornish, they bend the knee. Dorne and delegates from the Vale, the Crownlands, Riverlands, and the Reach follow.

Meanwhile, Robert demands a trial by combat; and as not to appear weak, Aegon accepts and fights himself. Robert is killed but manages to mortally wound Aegon, who dies thereafter, making the throne pass to Jon. Following Robert's death. Stannis bends the knee when he's acknowledged as the Lord of the Stormlands over Renly by right of birth, and his younger brother has no choice but follow, though as a result, Shireen Baratheon is made a 'ward' of the crown.

Tywin is turned over to the Martells, but the manner of his death would remain unknown throughout the kingdoms for centuries to come as he was denied a proper burial. Jaime and Leila are married, but its made known that its to solely to reduce the crown's debt peacefully as Leila's pregnancy remains a secret.

Jaime becomes Warden of the West with Tyrion and Leila acts as his hands of sorts. Jon marries Margery Tyrell, the marriage helps pay back the crown's debt to the Iron bank but also grants them the support of the second richest kingdom. Jon cleanses King's Landing of all those loyal to the previous regime and replaces them with cousins and loyal bannermen of his uncle and house Castus. A heavily pregnant Dany chooses to remain with her husband's khalasar in the east as Robb is married to Wynafred Manderly, Sansa is promised to Willas Tyrell, Arya to Trystane Martell, and Bran to Shireen Baratheon... and the blood of the dragon reigns once more.

Hopefully, you all found this to be a somewhat satisfying conclusion, I tried my best. Seriously going back to re-read these stories, there were a lot of WTF moments... like my teenage addled brain thought this was good. So closing out the decade, I have decided to leave the old writer-me behind and begin anew.

See you in 2020.
