Chapter 29
Once they arrive at the Grenomy Stadium, Benjamin gives Avery a kiss and says, "I'll see you soon."
"I'll see you as well." Avery giggles as the group are really in awe at the sight. Ash says, "Well, we should get going, shouldn't we?"
"Yeah." Gloria says.
Ash goes toward the staff and the staff says, "Welcome, Gym Challenger, are you ready to challenge the gym?"
Ash says, "Of course."
"Good, now here is the Uniform." Ash goes change his uniform and this time he is wearing purple shirt with rainbow colors in the middle, and then the staff says, "Number 151, I hope you are ready for the experience that might shock your life."
As Ash is taken to the mission field, all he can see is a Teleportation Panel. Dan says, "Allow me to explain the Gym Mission for this Grenomy Gym. To complete the mission, you will have to go into the Teleportation Panel. Since the battle field is on top of the Satellite, it should be the final destination. There are 12 floors with different height that leads to the field, and there are also Gym Trainers on that particular floor as well. To determine which floor to go, you have to roll a dice, since this is the first floor, so you don't have to do the following instruction. When the dice roll ends, the number of time used are also a key, when it is an odd number, go downwards, but if it is even number, then go upwards."
Ash says, "It seems really complicated, but I am ready." Ash says with a smile as Dan says, "Now let the Gym Mission Start."
Ash rolls the dice and then it lands on 5, he says, "A good start." He goes into the Teleportation Panel and then immediately, it goes into the height of 15000 meters.
Ash, Pikachu and Perrserker are shocked at the height as Perrserker says, "How do we even get this high?"
"I guess it is with the power of the Psychic Type Pokemon." Ash says with amazement. "But I can't see any people down bellow..."
In the stadium, everyone is watching through the projection, Gloria says, "This is really amazing...we are going to battle up high..."
"Yeah." Lillie sweat drops. "I hope Ash will be fine."
In the end, Ash rolls a 4 after that, but then he is forced to go 5 downwards again. But luckily, he manages to roll more and eventually sees Dan at the Height of 33000 meters.
"Goal, Gym Mission Cleared." Dan says. "You did a great job climbing this high."
Then Ash is teleported inside the Satellite which is 36000 Meters high. And then he walks to the stadium that is a giant dome with nothing expect protective glass. Benjamin also walks towards them and says, "Ah, Prince Ash. How is the view from here?"
Ash says, "It sure is amazing to see our planet down below."
"Indeed. In this place, we can broadcast the weather conditions to the Galar Region so that we can make predictions on which Pokemon will appear and which won't." Benjamin says. "But now, let's have a battle in the space."
Benjamin takes out the Pokeball and says, "Now you should go first, Duosion."
As the first Pokemon appears, Ash says, "Thievul, I choose you."
And then the battle starts as Benjamin says, "We should get the first move, Duosion, use your Energy Ball."
As the Pokemon shoots out a green ball, Ash says, "Dodge it and then use Thief."
Thievul does the move and hurts Duosion, but since Duosion isn't carrying any items, so Thievul is frustrated.
"Now Thunder Wave, slow his motion." Ash is surprised as Thievul is hit and is paralyzed. "Use Flash Cannon!"
The attack effectively hits the Pokemon as Thievul is in pain. "Are you alright?" Ash asks as he nods. "Good, now use Sucker Punch, finish it off."
Duosion tries to attack, but the Sucker Punch sends it flying to the glass, and thankfully it doesn't break.
"Well, that's it. But we're just getting started. Claydol, you are next."
As the Pokemon appears, it starts to spin around the area and Benjamin says, "Use Earthquake."
Thievul is paralyzed and it is defeated easily. Ash recalls the Pokemon and says, "Leafeon, I choose you."
As Leafeon appears on the field, the match begins again as Claydol uses Cosmic Powers to raise the Defense and Special Defense.
Marnie says, "Because they are in space...the cosmic power is also powered up..."
Avery says, "You sure are wise, Marnie. That really gives him an advantage. But Ash can also find out something for his advantage. That is if he notices it."
"Huh?" The girls are confused. And back in the dome, Ash sees that Leafeon's attack aren't doing anything much, he thinks, "What should I do?"
Just then, he sees something bright and he covers his eyes with his elbow, "That's it. The Sun... I can make a use to it." He thinks.
"Leafeon! Synthesis! Then use Solar Beam!" Ash yells as Benjamin is shocked. Leafeon recovers its health and then defeats the Claydol with a super effective move.
"So that is how it works!" Lillie gasps. "He can use the Sun to boost up the Grass Attacks as well."
"Amazing." Alice says.
Benjamin says, "I like the way you use my field as an advantage, but here should be my third Pokemon, Elgyem."
As the Pokemon appears, Ash says, "So a Pokemon that was an alien, huh? It should be interesting."
Despite Leafeon's efforts, it is still defeated after the combination of Teleport and Zen Headbutt, which makes Leafeon flinch and miss at the same time.
"Centiskorch, I choose you." As the fire centipede Pokemon appears, Benjamin says, "So you are going for a Bug Type, huh?"
"You bet, use X Scissor." Ash says.
"Teleport again and then use Zen Headbutt." Benjamin says.
"Wrap it up and don't let it use Teleport! Then use Overheat!" Ash says as Benjamin gasps. Elgyem is hard to escape after being bound to the Pokemon so hard. And then the fire move deals a lot of damage to the Pokemon, causing it to almost close its eyes.
"If that's the case...we should take Centiskorch down as well with Destiny Bond." Benjamin says as both Pokemon are now down. Ash frowns and he says, "I guess it isn't so bad."
Benjamin says, "You have shown a lot of talents in the battle, but now let's determine it with this Pokemon. Indeedee!"
As the Pokemon appears, Ash says, "Indeedee...the only ones we see are Nurse Joy's...and it has different forms according to their gender. If that's the case, I'll use Scraggy!"
As the Pokemon appears, Dawn says, "Scraggy? Is he serious?"
"I guess so." Serena says. "Right?"
Benjamin says, "Interesting choice. But let us take care of you with our Dynamax!"
"We'll do the same." Ash says as they all do their Dynamax openings. Once they become bigger, Scraggy uses Max Darkness, which lowers the Special Defense of Indeedee. Indeedee uses Max Strike, and it also damages a lot to Scraggy.
"Use Max Mindstorm." Benjamin says. "Even though it is a Dark Type, I still have a plan."
Though Scraggy isn't hurt by the move, but the field changes into Psychic Terrain and he says, "This is for preventing Priority moves."
Ash clicks his tongue as he can't use Fake Out, but he still manages to win using one more Max Strike. Benjamin kneels down and says, "Even the field fails me with this battle. But it sure is exciting after battling in such a nice place. You and your Pokemon deserve the Psychic Badge."
Ash and Benjamin shake their hands and then he gets the badge. Then he is sent back to Earth with one more Teleportation.
Marnie is next as she wears just like what Avery wears, and then she has no problem considering her Pokemon are mainly Dark Types. And eventually Gloria is the last one.
"Welcome Challenger, I am Benjamin. Can you see outside this dome, the stars are shinning upon us."
"You're right." Gloria says. "It sure is amazing in person."
"But will the star shines on me? Or it will shine on you, we should find out after this battle." Then they take out their Pokeballs and start the battle.
Benjamin sends out Xatu first, while Gloria sends out Drednaw. Boltund manages to Bite and Stone Edge the Pokemon by its jump, but Xatu uses Future Sight to make it free by the attacks. And in the end, Drednaw is defeated by the Shadow Ball.
Gloria sends out Liepard next, with the Attract and the Shadow Claw, Xatu is fainted. So Benjamin sends out his second Pokemon, Wobbuffet.
"Wobbuffet is a patient Pokemon...it only attacks after the opponent attacks it." Ash mutters.
Gloria isn't afraid as it aims for the Special moves, and since Mirror Coat has no effect of Thievul, so it can only uses Safeguard and Amnesia to raise Special Defense, but Gloria makes a mistake by using Night Slash, causing Liepard to faint after a Counter.
"What was she doing?" Marnie frowns. "How could she make that mistake?"
"I don't know..." Ash says.
Gloria says, "Just because my PP for special moves are 0..." She sends out Litwick and this time it goes for Hex, finishing Wobbuffet. So Benjamin sends out Meowstic next.
Meowstic uses Thunderbolt to finish Litwick, so Gloria sends out her final Pokemon Orbeetle. Orbeetle uses Bug Buzz and Struggle Bug to defeat Meowstic.
Benjamin says, "Down to my last Pokemon I see, it seems that the stars really shine on you." He sends out Orbeetle as well.
"So that must be his Gigantamax..." Alice mutters.
Benjamin says, "Now Gigantamax, show the stars that you are worthy for the intelligence and power!"
Gloria says, "You too!" They both Gigantamax their Pokemon, and the head of the Pokemon becomes 5 times bigger than the body.
"I know I haven't seen Gloria use the Gigantamax, but wow...they look like UFO." Dawn says.
"Yeah." Ash says.
"Time to show you how the space works! G-Max Gravitas!" Then it shoots out circles of light on Gloria's Orbeetle, Gloria says, "You do the same."
As they exchange their attacks, Serena asks, "What does Gravity do?"
"Well, the move enables Flying-type Pokémon or Pokémon with the Levitate Ability to be hit by Ground-type moves. Moves that involve flying can't be used." Ash says. "It is a tricky move as well, just like Miracle Eye or Foresight."
"I see." Lillie says. "It really is powerful."
But in the end, Gloria lands a powerful Max Flutterfly, causing Benjamin's Orbeetle to faint. Benjamin recalls his Pokemon and says, "Excellent. You really have a lucky star shining on you." He walks towards Gloria and says, "This battle is really memorable, because we are battling in space and also perform our Dynamax here. But now that you have experienced this, it is time for me to give you this Psychic Badge."
After Gloria gets the badge, he says, "You and your Pokemon really are something. If you want to go down, just go to the panel over there and it will send you back to the entrance. Good luck with your Gym Challenge."
After Gloria gets back on the ground, she hugs Ash and says, "I also did it as well."
"Good for you." Ash says. "So what is next?"
Avery says, "Well, the next one should be Shelia Ketchum in the Glimwood Town. Since you are collecting Gym Badges, that makes us rivals as well. I hope we can meet each other again."
"Sure." After Avery leaves, Ash says, "So my second younger sister is the next one, huh? Interesting."
"But where is the Glimwood Town?" Dawn asks.
Alice checks the map and says, "We are going back to Stow-on-Side, there is a path there that leads to the Glimwood Tangle, which is also where the town is in."
"Great, can we just get on the Flying Taxi?" Gloria says. "I don't feel like walking."
"I guess why not?" Ash sighs as they go take the Taxi.
Here is a new chapter, and this wraps up the Psychic Gym. The next Gym will be Bug Type and I hope you like it. As for why I made Avery a girl, well, there is no reason, it is because when I saw him for the first time, I thought that he was a girl, long hair and blonde, and the outfit he is wearing are really like female to me. So this is the reason I made him a girl, but don't worry, the other one Klara will be a girl as well in my story.
