Chapter 29

Hey guys, so just an FYI this chapter will be going in between the two groups: Steven's and Jesse's. Enjoy!

With Steven

"So, where to first?" Petra asked as they watched the retreating forms of Jesse, Soren, Ivor, Lukas, and the others retreat down the mountain.

"No idea," Axel said with a grin as he turned to face the others.

"Maybe we should head to Redstonia. It was already attacked, so- *cough* so there shouldn't be too many people there," Steven said. Gabriel nodded in agreement.

"That sounds very reasonable."

"Alright then, let's go!" Magnus shouted as they started to climb down the mountain as well. Once they were down, Steven pulled out a map, glanced at it, and pointed.

"That way." Axel raised half his unibrow.

"Where did you get a map from, Steven?"

"I grabbed it from the chest as we were packing up." He put the map back in his inventory as the trio headed out.

-XxXxX-

The sun had just risen over the land, though you could only see the red bleeding across the clouds that were raining down on the group as they traveled across the plains, the mountains just behind them. Reuben jumped with an excited grin on his face. They rode on for the full day and night, before the rain stopped. They passed the next 24 hours also in silence, each lost in their own thoughts

"Can we go any faster?" Jesse asked as the third morning of straight riding through plains.

"Not unless you have a minecart," Ivor responded sharply.

-XxXxX-

Steven leaned against the wall, panting as Axel glanced out the doorway at the sky. He breathed out slowly. "We beat it here," Axel said, turning to Steven, Gabriel, Magnus, and Petra.

"I'm gonna see if I can find anything useful," Petra said as she stood from her hunched over position and walked over to the door. Axel stuck an arm out to stop her.

"No, you stay here and rest. You look as bad as Steven." Petra glared at her friend before giving in and sitting next to Steven, who had slid down the wall and was curled up on the floor. She started petting his hair. She didn't even glance up as Axel and Magnus walked out into the ruined city of engineering. Steven glanced up as a groan reached his ears.

"Wasn't me," Petra said as she looked around.

"Me neither," Gabriel said. Steven closed his eyes again as Petra suddenly jumped up and drew her sword, Gabriel following her. The brunette whipped his head around and spotted a hoard of zombies behind them. Petra swiped at one as Steven clumsily stood and drew his sword. She defeated one zombie before falling to one knee, panting. Steven took her place in defending from the zombies, swiping at two and stabbing another through. Gabriel moved to help him as more flooded from who knows where. They glanced at each other before turning are running out the door, helping up Petra as well. The zombies were dumb enough to follow them. Steven collapsed after a few moments, but they were far enough away that the zombies burned in the sun. Petra plopped down next to him, again panting with exertion.

"At least we're safe, I guess," the redhead commented, before noticing that Steven was out cold. Gabriel chuckled before laying on his back. She also laid down and fell asleep as soon as she closed her eyes.

Axel and Magnus grinned at the sight when they saw them later that day.

-XxXxX-

The group still rode day and night, this time through the hot and dry mesa. They marveled at the new biome at first, before the sight of red sand and clay got repetitive. Jesse waited another three days of riding through the sandy biome before asking "Are we there yet?"

"Not much farther now," Ivor said before turning forwards again. Silence once again settled over the group.

-XxXxX-

"AHHHHHHHHHH!" Axel and Magnus screamed as they sped through the fiery land of doom known as the Nether. A herd of ghasts were close on their tail, wailing at them and firing fireballs at them that missed as they flew down the tracks. Steven, Petra, and Gabriel were standing with their swords drawn, waiting for the ghasts to fire and aim correctly.

"Come on you stupid flying squids!" Petra shouted at them.

"You forgot the 'of death' part!" Steven said, his voice rising at the end as a ghast shot a fireball at him. He hit it back, nailing the ghast in the forehead and killing it.

"THIS IS THE FUNNEST AND SCARIEST THING I'VE EVER DONE IN MY LIFE!" Axel shouted as an undeflected fireball zoomed over his head. No one bothered to correct his grammar.

The fireball hit the track, creating a gaping hole... right over the middle of a lava pool.

"GUYS! HOLE! IN TRACK! WE'RE GONNA DIE!" Magnus screamed as the Wither-sickened trio turned and saw the hole. They only had time to scream as they fell.

-XxXxX-

The group on horseback finally arrived...

in an ice spike biome. They kept riding through the cold and snow for days. At one point, Ivor fell asleep, curled up against Soren's back. Soren was not amused at the potionologist snoring in his ear, and roughly shouldered him awake. Jesse turned his head and laughed at the display, Ivor glaring at them slightly.

-XxXxX-

Axel and Magnus groaned as they woke up. "Dude, get off. You're gonna make me a pancake at this rate," the griefing master said as Axel rolled off him.

"Sorry. Where are we?" The burly boy asked as he took in their surroundings. They were still in the Nether, but now behind a netherrack formation and on land.

"No idea," Maganus replied, standing. "GABRIEL!" he yelled when he couldn't spot his friend. Axel looked around again, alarm written on his face.

"PETRA! STEVEN!" he shouted, running around the rock formation-

only to trip and land on his face. "I felt all of that," he said as he looked up. Magnus ran around the formation, and laughed.

"Here they are!" he proclaimed. Axel looked to the side to see that he had tripped over Gabriel's legs. The warrior was beginning to stir as Axel got up.

"Wha... what happened? Where are we?" Gabriel asked as he sat up.

"No idea," Magnus said as Axel shock Petra's shoulder gently to wake her. She gave no response.

"Is she alright?" Gabriel asked as he shook her a little harder. Petra growled as she opened her eyes.

"Axel, if you don't stop shaking me right now-"

"She's fine," Magnus said, keeping her from completing her threat. Petra grumbled as she sat up and took everything in. Her eyes widened as she saw Steven, who was laying next to her. She gently shook him.

"Purple people eaters..." he mumbled. She shook him again as she held back a giggle. "Where purple peaches..."

"Are those a thing?" Axel asked smiling. Gabriel shrugged.

"I do not believe so." Petra shook Steven again, rousing a sentence about Wednesday and camels. She poked his arm softly.

"Steven, come on, time to get up." Steven shifted, but didn't wake up. She started tickling his neck slightly. That action finally roused the sleeping teen. His eyes blinked blearily before focusing on Petra. He smiled.

The others smiled knowingly at each other.

"What *cough* happened?" he asked, propping himself up with one arm. The others frowned as they looked at eachother and tried to remember.

"We were on a minecart rail. There were ghasts..." Gabriel said. Magnus gasped.

"That's right! We were being running from ghasts in minecarts, and you guys missed a fireball, and it hit the tracks, creating a hole right over a lava lake..." the Boom King slowed as realisation spread over everyone's faces. Axel was the first to recover.

"HOW THE HECK ARE WE ALIVE?!"

-XxXxX-

The heroes finally arrived...

in the jungle. Ruben was struggling to stay awake as they rode on and on and on, their horses seemingly never getting tired like the heroes that rode them.

"We must be there now... right?" Jesse asked Ivor.

"Nope!" Ivor exclaimed. "No, we're not even close!" He turned back around with a huff.

"That's the exact opposite of what you said a week ago," Herman said as he glanced around at the vines and trees, the occasional parrot flying overhead. Ivor chose not to dignify the statement with a response.

-XxXxX-

"Unless we teleported somehow, I don't- *cough* don't see how we we survived," Petra said as the group trekked through the Nether in search of a portal.

"Well, we obviously didn't, cause people CAN'T TELEPORT! And it's not like a bunch of freaking endermen decided to save a group of kids. There aren't even endermen in the Nether!" Magnus exclaimed.

"We know friend, we know," Gabriel said, trying to keep the Boom King from blowing up in frustration.

"Let's just focus on- *cough* on finding a portal, guys," Steven said as he tripped and fell. Petra helped him up as Axel cheered.

"A minecart rail!"

"This will surely lead to the surface."

"But do we even have minecarts?" Magnus asked. The group's moral fell a little, until Steven checked his inventory. In it were five minecarts, waiting to be placed down.

"Yes we do." He walked over to the tracks and paced them, the other hopping in as soon as he was done.

"Do we even know where this goes?" Axel asked as the picked up speed.

"Let's find out," Petra responded with a grin on her face.

-XxXxX-

The heroes finally finally arrived-

at another biome that wasn't the Far Lands. They only sound they made as they rode was the sound of the horses' footsteps as they walked through the swampland.

"My but hurts," Herman said.

"I feel like we've been riding forever," Lukas added.

"I am telling you, we CANNOT go to the Far Lands!" Soren exclaimed at Ivor for the upteenth time. "They're not just the edge of our world, but the limits of our comprehension!"

"Oh please," Ivor countered. " The Far Lands are a happy accident. Nature's way of keeping life interesting."

"No, no, no! They are perilous and unpredictable! Perlin noise, floating points! These are not matters to be played with!"

"Hold on, back up. What exactly are the Far Lands?" Jesse asked. Soren's eyebrows shot up.

"Are you... being serious? The Far Lands lie at the very edge of all things, where logic gives way to chaos. They're a dangerous place to visit... and a ridiculous place to construct a laboratory!" He glared at Ivor with the last statement.

"Just wait until you see it," Ivor replied calmly.

"Do those two never stop arguing?" Olivia asked heatedly.

"No idea. I'm too hungry to care quite frankly," Herman said.

"Yeah, I'm starving," Lukas said.

"We all are... maybe we should turn back?" Olivia said, bringing the group to a stop. Jesse turned his horse to face hers.

"This isn't the time, swamps are too dangerous," Ivor said cooly. "You never know what could be lurking around."

A sudden noise sounded near the group.

"What was that?" Herman asked, suddenly on guard. Soren looked down sadly.

"My stomach."

"Guys, we can't turn back now. Not after coming so far," Jesse said gently, trying to calm the group.

"Fine. But I'm taking a break," Olivia declared as she dismounted.

"So am I," Soren said as everyone else dismounted. They all decided to sit in a line against a hill, only Soren, Ivor, and Jesse remained standing.

"We mustn't linger long," the potionologist said, coming up to Jesse. "The Far Lands lay just beyond this swamp."

FINALLY! I have a new chapter guys, finally here! With all the things going on, I finally have a chapter done! And it's a good day to upload (even though it's not Monday) because...

Transportation is one year old! Today, at the time of this being posted.

My first story is one year old guys. I've been writing this for one year. I've been an author for one year.

SO with that announced, lets go to Review Replies!:

FeathersOfFancy: Yes, yes you do. Thank you for being so understanding. My life is currently as crazy as the characters in Fairy Tail... And I'm loving it! I will keep posting though! Writing is fun too!

Ellismskd: I'm sorry, I literally have no idea what you're talking about anymore.

SuperCools: Thanks!

And shout outs to:

Brittianyammed, thanks for the follow and favorite!

MAC8558: Thanks for favoriting the story!

And lastly shout out to Iron Pikachu, the original author of this story. To be honest, I probably wouldn't be writing fanfiction, if this story wasn't up for adoption and you let a very inexperienced author take over writing for it. Thanks again for letting me continue the story!

Well, that's gonna be all for now. Now I need to update and fix a few things in my other stories, so it could be a wait again, but I will post as soon as possible! Have a good rest of the week guys!

Go get 'em tigers!
