The End

And so, it started with Geometry.

It's the only reason Stiles will be thankful for that class. It's the only time he has a pleasant memory of boredom.

It started with Geometry, and continued with a mermaid. Realization occurred with a wolf. Healing overtook him with some butterflies. A lily may still be under his pillow. An unknown amount of drawings may be on his fridge, and may stay there even after he's gone.

He loves the stars an inordinate amount. His passenger seat smiles at him.

This journey that Stiles went on, wondering what he deserves, wondering if anything he feels is true or wild imaginings, wondering if he's worth something, or a little thing, or anything at all - this journey was all about a secret. And he realized, no - it wasn't about drawing.

Here's exactly what Stiles learned about secrets:

Sometimes, they pretend to be something else. Sometimes, what you think you're worth communicates itself through how good you think you are at drawing or something else, or what people think of you, or if they'll still love you if you be yourself. And here's what an anxious mind tries to tell you - that the answer is that you are small and undeserving of every smile and thank you and accomplished high five.

The true secret was that really, Stiles was right where he belonged all along. He was doing the absolute best he could. The secret, all along, was that he was loved all the time. He had talents buzzing underneath his skin that no other could comprehend. He just had to let himself try. He just had to let himself be.

An anxious, lonely mind will rip that courage from you, and keep all things that are wonderful about you as a tiny, dark, guilty secret.

But ask the parents in college courses. Ask the teen with finished novels. When it comes to passions and dreams, there is no such thing as too soon or too late.

He knows, now, that expecting happiness to be easy is not realistic. But working towards it is certainly, absolutely, miraculously worth it.

Because he, and his father and his pack and everything in between, is worth it.

And so are you.
