(A/N) This chapter will serve as the conclusion to the Dangerous Drive Arc for this story.
Chapter 35 Kill the Wild
(Lubbock's, Leone's, and Jade's location)
Lubbock was very cautious of his current enemy. Even though that it is a simple three on one fight. The problem is that the enemy is Elaina, even though she's not a teigu user. She is a member of Yashan's team who are composed of cybernetic soldiers that's similar to Raiden. From a certain perspective, that is worse than fighting a teigu user. Because if Raiden is able to kill one of the strongest of the Empire. Then fighting someone who is close to his strength would not be the best scenario.
"Those spinning blades look strong. I don't know why but my Polar Ring has no effect on them. Luckily, we're around a lot of metallic materials I can use but we don't know what she can do." Jade told Lubbock
"We know that not all of them have the same ability. If we can find a way to fight her on our terms. Then we'll be able to kill her." Lubbock said to the two ladies
"Then keep watching and figure something out." Leone said before she dashed towards Elaina at top speed.
As Leone was rushing towards Elaina, the hoverblades proceeded to head towards Leone. Using her reflexes, Leone was able to dodge the hoverblades and continued her pursuit. Before Leone got close, the hoverblades that Leone dodged started to go towards Leone from behind. Before the hoverblades could get to her, Jade was able to control the nearby blades of the hideout and attacked the hoverblades that's heading towards Leone. Though the hoverblades weren't destroyed, they were moved so that Leone wouldn't get attacked and was able to continue her pursuit to Elaina.
Once Leone got close, Elaina used her bladed-whips to try to attack Leone. Reacting quickly, Leone was able to dodge the initial whip attack. But she wasn't able to dodge the follow up attack and had to endure sharp and stinging pain. Leone's injuries didn't stop her from continuing her pursuit of Elaina. Once she got close, Leone made several attacks against the soldier. Elaina responded quickly and was able to dodge a good number of the attacks. After dodging another attack, Elaina swung her blade whip at Leone. The brawler was able to dodge it, but space was made between the two and the cyborg warrior was out of Leone's attack range.
After the space was made between the two, Elaina brandished her bladed-whips and proceeded to attack Leone while the hoverblades kept her two allies busy. Leone was able to dodge a good number of them very quickly. But couldn't dodge all of them and felt a good deal of searing pain every time the bladed-whips managed to hurt her. Leone was able to endure the pain and maintain her focus on Elaina. But quickly realized that the cybernetic soldier shouldn't be underestimated. Before Leone could do anything, the blades on Elaina's whips started to spin around in a manner that is similar to a chainsaw.
"I'm going to need some help, this chick has some tricks up her sleeves." Leone said to Jade and Lubbock.
Before Leone knew it though, Elaina used her vibrating blade whip to attack Leone. Fortunately for Leone, Lubbock was able to construct a wire barrier just in time to block the attack. The wire barrier was strong enough to hold back Elaina's attack. But from the sound of the impact as well as the hover blades that is still surrounding the group of three. It is clear that this defensive plan won't hold for too long.
"What's the plan Lubbock, we can't stay like this forever?" Leone said to Lubbock while keeping an eye on Elaina
"For now we have to wait and see what she does next. Staying on the defensive is helping us. But as Raiden showed us, if we rush in blindly, then we'll be playing right into her hands." Lubbock responded while the barrier was up
(Wolf and Tatsumi's location)
When Tatsumi looked at Dorothea and the Danger Beast that's accompanying her. He was prepared for anything that they may try to do. Otacon and Raiden made it clear that their current targets had gotten nanomachines and given what they've seen so far. They need to be ready for anything that they can do. Wolf on the other hand is completely composed of the situation and of the targets. Likely due to the fact that Wolf has faced many similar threats before.
"Interesting, when I was informed of a metallic Danger Beast. I truly wanted to see it and here you are." Dorothea told Wolf
"My readings show several abnormalities with you child. I detect various enhancements within your body aside from nanomachines. It would be a very accurate assumption to say that the enhancements you have within your body is the reason that you've been alive for so long. While also maintaining your youthful appearance." Wolf told Dorothea after looking at her
"Capable of speech and observant, our orders is to kill the members of Night Raid. But keeping you alive beast is something I'll make sure of personally. Just thinking of the experiments, I could do with you makes me excited." Dorothea told Wolf in an excited tone
"Raiden told me what you have done with the rebels and with sadistic nature. You are the kind of person who goes to the extremes with your scientific desires. But the truth is that you have no regard for human life. If you claim permanent residence in the United States. There is no doubt that your ambitions will be the ruin for many." Wolf said as he was maintaining his guard against Dorothea
"I've seen the resources that your land has at its disposal. If they are able to make people like Raiden, then just think of what I'll be able to do in the long term." Dorothea said in an excited tone
"What do you mean long term?" Wolf asked in a concerned and demanding tone to Dorothea
"It doesn't matter, because this so-called ambush has given us the perfect chance to kill a good number of our enemies in one fell swoop. I know for certain that Raiden will be able to survive this, which is fortunate for my experiments. Once I capture him and make his power and life my own. I'll be unstoppable, all of my various ambitions will become a reality." Dorothea briefly explained to Wolf in a satisfied tone causing the Danger Beast to growl. The Abnormal Danger Beast that growled caused Dorothea to get out of her train of thought and speak calmly.
"In my excitement, I almost forgot to introduce my comrade who has been reborn. I hope you all remember Cosmina. It wasn't easy getting her corpse back. But thanks to some past experiments and some gifts from World Marshal. Her reborn became possible and will give me some interesting information." Dorothea said introducing the Abnormal Danger Beast form of Cosmina causing Wolf to analyze her
"The body has multiple enhancements, which indicates increased strength and durability." Wolf said after analyzing Danger Beast Cosmina
After Wolf analyzed Danger Beast Cosmina, Dorothea quickly ran to Wolf and made a move to attack him. Reacting quickly Wolf used his giant chainsaw to block Dorothea's attack and rammed into her when he had the chance. As a result, Dorothea was knocked back a small distance. When the alchemist was knocked back, Tatsumi took this as a chance to attack Dorothea and tried to kill her in one move. Unfortunately, Dorothea was able to avoid Tatsumi's attack by quickly back jumping and avoiding the attack. Though after Dorothea managed to avoid the attack, Danger Beast Cosmina used one of her large claws to attack Tatsumi and knocked him back.
"Don't think you'll be able to beat Cosmina the same way as last time." Dorothea said before Danger Beast Cosmina took a deep breath and released a strong sound blast
Tatsumi quickly activated his arm-shield and was able to both block the sound blast and reflected it back at Danger-Beast Cosmina. Unfortunately, when the reflected sound blast hit Danger Beast Cosmina. She wasn't affected by the freflected sound blast and simply shrugged it off. After shrugging off the sound blast, Danger-Beast Cosmina was able to quickly run in front of Tatsumi and attacked him with her massive claw. Tatsumi was able to block the attack. But he realized that Danger-Beast Cosmina is a lot stronger than she looks. While Tatsumi was being held down blocking the attack. He caused the jewel on his forehead to glow and fired the laser at Danger-Beast Cosmina. Reacting quickly, Danger-Beast Cosmina's skin hardened up and the laser reflected off of her.
"Izou told me of your ability, so her body's been modified to withstand it. Also thanks to the gifts from Raiden's homeland, I was able to make her stronger in ways that I wouldn't be able to before." Dorothea said in a proud tone before she dodged an attack from Wolf
"It looks like you'll get to be my pet Metallic Danger Beast." Dorothea said in a teasing tone before she proceeded to fight against Wolf
(Raiden's and Akame's location)
"Damn, the Wild Hunt has nanomachines." Raiden said in a tone that is mixed with surprise and angry
"Thanks to the gifts from your land Raiden, our power has grown exceptionally. Now Kotetsu will be fed for the rest of its days. Though its first taste must be your blood Raiden. For you are one of the few people who are truly worthy to die by my blade." Izou said as he drew his sword and took up his stance. When Raiden and Akame looked at the sword, it glowed black as if it contained nothing but darkness
"Your sword's been modified too." Raiden stated as he drew his sword while Akame did the same
"Indeed it has Raiden, truth be told I've desired a true sword fight against another sword master. But after seeing you best General Budo and hearing of how General Esdeath considered you an equal. I knew that I would be truly content when I fight you. It is a truly pleasant bonus for me to also fight against Akame and her famed sword. Now Kotetsu will be fed and I shall fight a wonderous battle." Izou said a split second before he ran towards both Raiden and Akame at a blinding speed.
A quick second later, both Raiden and Akame found themselves clashing blades with Izou. Raiden tried to push him back with his immense strength, but Izou's nanomachines enhancements allowed him to stand his ground against Raiden in terms of pure strength. Akame decided to use her agility and reflexes to jump over Izou and tried to stab him while she was behind him. Unfortunately, Izou's reflexes were as sharp as Akame's and was able to dodge the sword attack in time. After Izou dodged the sword attack, he was able to kick Akame away and tried to attack Raiden with his sword. Raiden was able to block Izou's sword attack and the two sword masters fought against each other clashing blades. Once a few seconds have passed the two made space between each other.
"The way you move and parry my attacks. You've fought another sword master haven't you?" Izou asked Raiden in a curious tone
"Yeah, but your nothing like him. Hell comparing the two of you is like comparing rusted copper with refined steel. You just don't compare in any way." Raiden said before he went for Izou
For a few minutes the two of them fought against each other at a furious speed. Every attack that one of them has made with their sword. Is either skillfully parried or dodged by either Raiden or Izou. After a few moments, Akame jumped in and tried to cut Izou once again. This time, Izou was able to parry Akame's sword attack and held his ground against her. As Izou was holding his ground against Akame, he was able to quickly notice Raiden and managed to block an attack from Raiden's sword. After blocking Raiden's sword attack, Izou quickly moved to Raiden's side and tried to cut his head off. Reacting quickly, Raiden flipped backwards to avoid Izou's sword attack and as he did so, he was able to kick the sadistic swordsman away.
"Wonderful, your just as powerful as I'd hoped. I have seen your true self from when you fought General Budo. Now bring it out, Kotetsu must be fully content." Izou said in a satisfied tone
"Akame, do you know how to get to one of the nearest outpost spots?" Raiden asked Akame
"Yes Raiden, but why do you ask?" Akame asked in a curious tone
"Because even though he has nanomachines, I can take him on no problem. He's no Esdeath and I was able to beat someone stronger than him who fought like he does. But the other members won't be so lucky if the other members of the Wild Hunt has nanomachines." Raiden briefly explained to Akame
"He's right Akame, Raiden has more experience fighting people with nanomachines so he knows how to deal with that guy. But your other comrades might not be so lucky." Otacon explained over communications
"Understood, I'll hurry to the nearest one. Otacon, Boss, please read the map and direct me to the one who's in dire need of help." Akame said before she quickly left leaving Raiden alone with Izou
"Kotetsu will be fed the blood of the assassin soon enough. For now, your blood will be more than satisfactory for my blade." Izou said as he started to take up a stance ready to fight against Raiden
"You're not the first samurai I fought, but your going to die a lot more quickly. The only thing your nanomachines did was give you a chance against me. Which weren't even that high to begin with." Raiden responded before he charged towards Izou himself
(Tatsumi's and Wolf's location)
Both Tatsumi and Wolf spent a good deal of time fighting against Dorothea and her Danger Beast ally. The both of them were able to hold their own remarkably well. Unfortunately, the two members of the Wild Hunt are a lot stronger than both Tatsumi and Wolf anticipated. Especially since they have enhancement nanomachines that made them a lot stronger than they expected.
Tatsumi was able to hold his own against Danger-Beast Cosmina, but her immense strength and impressive durability kept him on edge. After Tatsumi spent a few seconds blocking a good number of Danger-Beast's Cosmina's claw attacks. Tatsumi ended up grabbing one of her claws and held his ground. A brief second after Tatsumi held his ground, he used a great deal of his strength to toss Danger-Beast Cosmina further away from Cosmina. After he made sure that there was a great deal of distance between the two members of the Wild Hunt. Tatsumi went after her while Wolf was left to deal with Dorothea.
"It appears that both you and your comrade are going to be a lot harder to kill than I thought. But don't worry, once your both dead, I'll be able to find many scientific breakthroughs for my research." Dorothea said in a confident tone
"Upon further thoughts to your previous inquiries. It is very much possible that you received your nanomachines from World Marshal back in the United States. Your sadistic scientific ambitions will make even World Marshal cautious of you. It is very clear that you do not value human life. Which will make this situation ironic since I an advanced AI machine has a better understanding of human life than you do." Wolf explained to Dorothea causing her to laugh
"I do so value human life you metallic beast. Its not my fault that my ambitions make people afraid of me. I'm just the only person who has the resolve to go further than most other scientists are willing to go." Dorothea said maintaining her confident tone
"I have scanned your bio signatures and I see an interesting irregularity. Your outward appearance is youthful. However, your organs have various DNA signatures that's mixed in that is slowly adapting to the nanomachines. I was informed of the nature of teigus and there is a strong possibility that you've used the DNA of others to maintain your youthful appearance and strength. With the nanomachines adding addition support to your biological strengths." Wolf said after analyzing Dorothea causing her to throw a smoke bomb and covered the area in smoke.
While Wolf was on guard for whatever Dorothea would try to do to him. A large Abnormal Danger Beast that's different from Danger-Beast Cosmina appeared and smack Wolf to the side. Wolf was able to regain his footing, but was surprised that such a large creature was able to catch him by surprise. When he looked at the Danger Beast, Wolf saw several humanoid figures with antennas. They also looks as if they have abnormal strength with incredible coordination.
"Bringing these guys turned out to be a good move on my part. Make sure that beast can no longer move. I have hundreds of experiments I want to perform on that beast if I want to have a chance against Raiden." Dorothea commanded while hidden in the smoke
After Dorothea made her command, the Humanoid Beasts proceeded to run towards Wolf at an intense speed. Fortunately, Wolf remained calmed and was prepared for the oncoming attack from Dorothea's forces. Before they all got too close, Wolf's eye flashed a bright red for a quick second and proceeded to move through the smokescreen at a blinding speed. After a few seconds, the speed that Wolf moved at caused the smokescreen to be blown away. Once it was blown away, the Humanoid Beasts that once surrounded Wolf. Quickly fell down into several pieces.
"What the . . . but how?" Dorothea said in a shocked tone after she saw Wolf deal with them
"I've fought soldiers and Metal Gears much stronger than those beasts. You underestimate my strength severely to a point that its insulting. If I had a sense of humor, I would be laughing at your arrogance." Wolf told Dorothea in a confident tone
"YOU DAMN BEAST!" Dorothea yelled before she proceeded to quickly draw a summon circle on the ground and summoned a large Abnormal Danger Beast
After the large Danger Beast was summoned, it used its numerous tentacles to attack Wolf. Fortunately, Wolf was able to dodge each of the tentacles easily, much to Dorothea's silent horror. As Wolf was dodging them, he used his chainsaws to cut the tentacles off quickly and easily. As Wolf was cutting down the summoned Danger Beast, Dorothea has a look of horror on her face.
"Damn, I didn't have enough time to give all of my personal Danger Beasts the enhancements that I've gotten. As long as I have Cosmina I can . . . . ." Dorothea thought before she heard a loud slam right behind her.
When she turned around, she saw Danger-Beast Cosmina covered in a large number of cuts that she's having trouble recovering from. A split second later, Dorothea saw Tatsumi quickly cut off her arms and was able to cut her leg for good measure. Danger-Beast Cosmina tried to make another sound blast but this time Tatsumi was ready for it. The moment Danger Beast Dorothea opened her mouth, Tatsumi activated his arm-shield and redirected the sound blast while close to her mouth. This time though, the sound blast was redirected through Danger-Beast Cosmina's insides and the powerful shockwave was strong enough to stun her for a few seconds. This was all Taatsumi needed, because he made several strong slashes at Danger-Beast Cosmina and was able to both cut off her head and slice her into several pieces.
"Tatsumi has gotten a lot stronger than I initially predicted. This isn't good, if I don't find a way to survive this. Then all of my scientific ambitions would go up in smokes as well as my desires." Dorothea thought to herself in frustration as Wolf slowly approached her
"It appears that you have nothing else at your disposal." Wolf said before he made a motion to move.
"WAIT, just give me a chance to explain. Are you two sure killing me would be the best thing for humanity. Make me your comrade, with enough time I can bring you and your comrades immortality. Think about it, all of your comrades will be able to live forever with no worries. From what I've seen of World Marshal, as well as Vamp and Raiden. Its entirely possible to become an immortal and my research and skills will make sure of that." Dorothea said to both Wolf and Tatsumi in a pleading tone
"You have the galls to beg for your life! I bet the people from my Village begged for their lives before you and your damn Wild Hunt killed them all!" Tatsumi yelled in a furious tone to Dorothea
"What's the end of a few lives if it means getting closer to the graces of immortality? Besides I was under orders so it's not entirely my fault. You guys gave Jade a second chance and she was a soldier under General Budo." Dorothea told Wolf and Tatsumi
"There's a big difference, Jade has standards and limits. There's no way she would have gone as far as you guys in your torment of the people!" Tatsumi yelled defending Jade
"Enough Tatsumi, this is nothing but a poor attempt from the girl to prolong her life. This conversation, like her life must come to an end." Wolf said before he was ready to attack
"Wa . . . WAIT PLEASE!" Dorothea said in a pleading tone before Wolf interrupted her
"My initial purpose is to acquire as much data as possible and pass it on. Though meeting Raiden has changed my perspectives and allowed me a chance to choose my purpose. It is clear to me that your purpose was created from your fear of death. Your ambitions is not for humanity but only for yourself." Wolf said before he leaped towards her
"But . . . I wanted to stay young and beautiful forever." Dorothea muttered before she was cut in half by Wolf and fell to the ground dead
"Good job, you two did it. Now lets get back here and wait for the others." Otacon said through the comm unit to Wolf and Tatsumi
"Affirmative Otacon, we must get going Tatsumi." Wolf told Tatsumi
"Got it, that freak of a Danger Beast was a little stronger than I thought. But we managed to pull through." Tatsumi said in a confident tone to Wolf
"Indeed, though I must admit that I'm curious about the kind of nanomachines the Empire were able to acquire." Wolf told both Tatsumi and Otacon
"I'm worried about that too Wolf, especially with what she means by long term. A part of me wants to just brush it off as mindless ambition. But the fact that she got nanomachines as well as the guy Raiden is fighting is something we can't ignore." Otacon told both Wolf and Tatsumi
"I know that her statement is cause for concern. But we need to save that discussion for later. Especially since this mission still isn't finished." Najenda said over the communications
"Your right Boss, we'll meet you back at the . . . ." Tatsumi said before he started to stagger for a few seconds. After a quick second Tatsumi lost his armor form and struggled to stand. He ultimately resorted to using Incursio to help him stand up
"Tatsumi, what's happening to your body?" Wolf asked in a concerned tone
"What's going on with Tatsumi?" Otacon asked over the comm with the concern clear in his voice
When Wolf took a better look at Tatsumi, he saw that half of his body looked more like a beast than a human. Wolf quickly scanned Tatsumi's body and noticed that there are a large number of cells within Tatsumi that doesn't seem human. The genetic code that Wolf is analyzing seems to be making Tatsumi stronger, while at the same time changing him from human to a beast.
"A good portion of Tatsumi's body is similar to that of a beast. If I had to make an assumption. The parts of Tatsumi's body that I can identify resembles that of a dragon. Though dragons are fictional creatures, it's the best description I have at the moment without proper research." Wolf explained over communications
"Damn, I didn't think the mutation would progress to that much of an extent. But given the circumstances, its something that should've been expect. We knew the mutation was happening, but I didn't think that it would progress that much in a short amount of time." Najenda commented
"I'll be fine boss, I just need a quick second and I'll be able to activate my teigu again." Tatsumi said trying to maintain his confident tone
"A second is all I need!" A female voice said that quickly got the attention of both Wolf and Tatsumi.
Before Tatsumi was able to activate his teigu, a female figure jumped down from the nearest tree and held Tatsumi in a choke hold. When Wolf took a better look, he recognized the woman as Yashan of the Savijas. Tatsumi struggled to get free of Yashan's hold over him. But he realized that Yashan I a lot stronger than she looked. Before Wolf did anything, Yashan was able to quickly absorb Tatsumi's blood into a moderately sized container. After the container was full of Tatsumi's blood, Yashan kicked him away and proceeded to jump back repeatedly and made space between her, Wolf and Tatsumi.
"Yashan, what are you doing here?" Wolf asked in an angry tone ready to go into lycan mode
"I wanted to see what you were capable of. Now I know and everything will start to be prepared. Your welcomed to pursue, but I doubt it'll end well for you." Yashan said in a mocking tone to Wolf before she left
"Tatsumi's blood's been drained, I'm beginning pursuit of Yashan." Wolf said before he made a move. Before he went too far Hal stopped him via communication
"Don't go after her Wolf, its clear she's trying to separate you two. Once you play into her hands, it'll be easy for her to take care of you guys. Besides, its clear she didn't want to kill you two. So I would prefer it if we didn't push our luck. Just stick with Tatsumi for now." Otacon briefly explained to Wolf
"I'm fine, she just caught me by that's all." Tatsumi said before he activated his teigu and was able to put the armor back on
"Why would she drain Tatsumi's blood like that?" Najenda asked in a concerned tone over the comm
"I don't know, but whatever the reason can't be good.: Hal told Najenda causing Wolf to have a quick realization
"Otacon, if one of them is spying on us, then it is entirely possible that the other groups are being spied on as well." Wolf said causing Najenda and Hal to have a shared shocked look on their faces
"Damn it, if that's true then the other groups are in danger. Wolf can you detect Raiden's signal?" Hal asked
"Yes, I'm able to track down Raiden." Wolf responded
"Then you and Tatsumi go and back up Raiden. He sent Akame to help another group but this might be what the Empire wanted." Najenda instructed to Wolf and Tatsumi
"Understood, are you able to keep going Tatsumi?" Wolf asked Tatsumi
"Yeah, lets get going." Tatsumi said before both him and Wolf quickly left to get to Raiden
(The nearby Forest)
After absorbing Tatsumi's blood, Yashan quickly made her way to the nearby forest while running at top speed. After running for a few minutes, she stopped to see if either Wolf or Tatsumi was following her. When she realized that neither of them were following her, she stopped and gave herself a moment.
"It appears that neither of them took the bait. It's unfortunate, but those two will live to fight another day. I supposed its not a complete loss, since I've acquired something crucial for my mission." Yashan said before she pulled out the sizable contained that contains Tatsumi's blood. When she looked at it, she used her cybernetic parts to give it a quick analysis and was impressed with its contents
"The abnormal genetic properties of within this blood is altering the cells. But through the alterations, its also making the cells and the host much stronger through a powerful mutation. As I thought, the analysis of this blood sample will produce some interesting findings for World Marshal." Yashan said to herself before she went off, before went too far, Yashan spoke further
"Two down, one to go. I'm coming for you next Raiden." Yashan said to herself as she was walking off
(Leone's, Lubbock's, and Jade's location)
The trio has spent a good deal of time fighting against Elaina and her hoverblades and bladed-whips. Unfortunately, none of them have made any significant progress towards hurting her or killing her. What makes it difficult is the hoverblades that are a lot faster than they look. Due to the speed of the hoverblades, Elaina was able to keep the members of Night Raid at a significant distance. Though if someone was fortunate enough to get close to Elaina. Then her skills with her bladed-whips would make the members of Night Raid jump back with caution.
"This is getting ridiculous, do you have a plan Lubbock? Because I don't know how long we can keep this up!" Leone yelled as she was dodging the hoverblades that kept being flown in her direction
"I'm trying to think of a plan Leone. But every idea I come up with is quickly torn apart by her." Lubbock responded as he was trying to keep the hoverblades away from him and Jade
"I'm not filled with ideas either you two. I can't control those hoverblades she sends after us. Everytime I throw some metal shards or blades her way, she destroys them with that whip of hers. Using my teigus trump card is an option, but we don't know what other tricks she might have up her sleeves." Jade told Lubbock and Leone
"I hate to say it but we're going to have to risk it Jade. For now just try to get close to her before she does her own trump card." Lubbock told Jade with her nodding in agreement. After the plan was made. Jade activated her teigus trump card and quickly made her way to Elaina.
When Elaina saw Jade running towards her, she sent the hoverblades at her. Thanks to Polar Ring's trump card, Jade was able to endure the assault of the hoverblades and after a few seconds. Jade was able to get close to Elaina. Though before Jade was able to do anything. Elaina grabbed her by the neck and slammed her to the ground. Jade tried to get free, but was surprised at the amount of strength that Elaina has. Making things worse, Jade felt an intense heat on her neck and quickly realized that it was coming from Elaina.
"Your body's durability is most impressive, but I'm very certain that it has limits. My hands can heat things for up to 2000 degrees, I doubt your flesh will survive once your durability ends." Elaina said while holding Jade's neck. Though after Elaina made her statement, Jade made a smirk which slightly confused the cybernetic soldier. Before Elaina could figure out why, she felt her arm and leg being pulled away from Jade. When Elaina turned her head to see what was going on. She saw several wires wrapped around her arm and leg.
"Did you really think that I would let Jade pursue you without some kind of defense for her? Before she went for you, I hid some of my wires on her clothes. You thought so little of our capabilities you didn't think that there was more to it." Lubbock told Elaina causing her to look at Jade
"We knew that a simple head on attack wouldn't work. But because of my teigus trump card. I would be able to get close to you with little risk of danger while its activated. Once I was close to you, Lubbock would handle the rest." Jade told Elaina in a proud tone
"You greatly insult me if any of you think these wires will be enough to kill me." Elaina said as she was slowly getting free from the wires
"Oh I know the wires won't be enough. The purpose of the wires is to keep you in place for a certain beast." Lubock said in a proud tone.
"That's my cue!" Leone said before she quickly ran to Elaina and jumped over her. As Leone was jumping over Elaina, Leone made sure to snap Elaina's neck before she landed. Once Leone landed, Elaina fell to the ground and the hoverblades that were in the air fell to the ground as well.
"Thanks guys, that was too close for comfort." Jade said in a grateful tone before her teigu Polar Ring deactivated its trump card
"No problem Jade, I'm glad you figured out the plan and trusted me and Leone." Lubbock told Jade
"Its no problem, we're comrades after all." Jade responded
"You guys go ahead, I'm going to make sure that she stays dead. From what I've seen of Raiden and his enemies of his homeland. We can't be too careful in dealing with them." Leone said as she was picking up a large boulder that was nearby. After picking up the boulder, Leone made her way to the downed soldier. Before Leone got too close though, a hoverblade launched itself from the ground and cut Leone's arm off.
"Damn!" Leone yelled after she lost her arm and dropped the large boulder
"Leone!" Lubbock yelled when he saw Leone lose her arm. Before Lubbock could help her, he quickly wrapped himself in his wires to protect himself from Yashan's bladed-whip. Lubbock tried to get free, but Elaina's whip was too strong and Lubbock could do anything.
"Hold on!" Jade yelled as she was running towards Lubbock to help him get free. Before she got too close, one of the hoverblades flew through Jade's leg cutting it off. After Jade's leg was cut off, she fell to the ground writhing in pain.
"I'll give the three of you some praise for your teamwork and collaboration. I thought it would be impossible for people without nanomachines to bring me close to death. Though if your blonde friend was stronger the neck snap would have succeeded. If this was a few months ago, that snap would have been enough but as of now, it wasn't enough." Elaina said as she twisted her neck back in place
"Don't count me out yet!" Leone yelled as she was using her will and the strength of her teigu and will to close her wound.
"Interesting, so you can still keep fighting after all despite losing an arm." Elaina said in an impressed tone to Leone
"I know that as long as Lubbock is still alive. I'll be good as new, but you won't be so lucky when I'm through with you." Leone said ready to keep fighting
"Thank you confirming my target." Elaina said before she threw her bladed-whip at Lubbock. Before the bladed-whip could reach Lubbock, Leone quickly ran in front of the Lubbock and grabbed the bladed-whip. She was able to hold her ground, but Elaina's strength and Leone's injury greatly limited her full strength.
For a few seconds, Elaina was slowly overwhelming the members of Night Raid and was pulling Leone closer to her. Before Elaina was able to pull in Leone even further. The nearby hoverblades lifted up from the ground and were suddenly launched towards a single direction. Before Elaina could see where the hoverblades were flying towards. Each of them were quickly cut into small pieces in a flurry of quick and powerful slashes. When Elaina looked to see who destroyed the hoverblades, she saw that it was Akame who did it and was in rapid pursuit of her.
At the first sight of Akame, Elaina pulled back her whip away from Lubbock and Leone and tried to attack Akame. Reacting quickly, Akame was able to quickly and skillfully dodge each of the bladed-whips and get closer to Elaina. Once Akame was close enough to Elaina. She was able to cut Elaina in half in a blinding speed with her sword. Before the other members of Night Raid could process this. Elaina fell to the ground while cut in half by Akame.
"Eliminated." Akame said after she cut Elaina in half
"Thanks for the save Akame. I don't know what would've happened you didn't show up." Leone said in a grateful tone before she turned to Lubbock
"Go help Jade reattach her leg. She's not as much of a fast healer as I am and I can endure this for a bit longer. As long as our limbs are still intact and you reattach the limbs in time before they decay. We'll be good as new once you reattach them." Leone told Lubbock
"Got it.' Lubbock said before he went to Jade and helped reattach her leg to her body
"Thanks Lubbock, that chick was a lot stronger than we thought." Jade told Lubbock while he was reattaching her leg to her body
"Yeah, I just hope that her other allies aren't like her." Lubbock told Jade before he was done reattaching her leg. After Jade's leg was reattached, she slowly stood up and tested out the leg
"You work fast Lubbock, I can move my leg and everything." Jade said in a happy tone
"I've gotta warn you though Jade, just because your leg is reattached doesn't mean its fully healed. Your going to have to be careful for a few days before you get back to full strength." Lubbock warned Jade in a cautious and worried tone
"Thanks, I'll be careful until my leg is fully healed. I doubt I'll get lucky a second time my leg gets cut off. Now go help Leone, I can take it from here." Jade told Lubbock sending him to help reattach Leone's arm
"Hahahaha." A monotone voice laughed causing everyone on the area to be on guard. When Akame looked to see where the voice came from, she saw that it cam from the upper half of Elaina's body that Akame cut off.
"Your skills are as good as we suspected I'm starting to understand how you were able to best Terremoto. The praise I gave you all earlier has indeed been well earned. But as it currently stands, if any of you are to fight Yashan, then all of you would die fighting." Elaina told the Night Raid members.
"You don't know what your talking about!" Leone yelled to Elaina causing her to laugh further
"The fact that the majority of you all had trouble with me alone already serves as an indication. Not to mention that its humorous that none of you have any idea of World Marshal ambitions." Elaina told everyone
"What do you mean?" Akame asked
"You'll find out soon enough." Elaina said before her voice dissipated and her eyes ended up with a lifeless look in them
"Otacon, did you catch any of that?" Akame asked over the comm while Lubbock was reattaching Leone's arm
"Yeah, but I don't know what to make of that. First they took a large amount of Tatsumi's blood. Then this cryptic message that she left behind. It's like Shadow Moses, Big Shell, and the Patriots all over again." Hal said over communications
"It won't do us any good to dwell on this for too long. Akame bring everyone you're with back to the Hideout. There's nothing more you all can do and I would be at ease if you guys aren't out and vulnerable. Especially since most of you need to recover for a while." Najenda said over communications
"Understood." Akame said before her and the others left the area. Unknown to them, Saeke was watching the entire events unfold from a distance while hidden.
"Elaina is dead and a good number of them are injured. Should I go and finish them off?" Saeke asked Yashan over their comm system
"No need, they would prove to be an interesting trump card if things go south with our own mission." Yashan instructed
"Understood, how are you doing on your own mission?" Saeke asked his team leader
"I was able to fulfill one part of my mission, but it won't be so easy with my other target. For now I'm returning to the Capital to think of a plan for how to proceed, I'll see you there." Yashan told Saeke before he activated his camouflage system and left
(Raiden's Location)
Raiden has spent a good deal of time fighting against Izou. Raiden hated to admit it, but Izou is putting up a much better fight than he anticipated. Especially since Izou has gotten several enhancement nanomachines and his sword has been augmented. Fortunately for Raiden, his experience from fighting Jetstream Sam has taught him a few things about fighting people who specializes in sword fighting. So he was prepared for whatever Izou could do.
After the both of them spent a good deal of parrying and blocking each other's sword attacks. They each ended up locking blades against each other. The both of them spent time struggling against each other, trying to get the upper hand against each other. After a few more seconds, Raiden kicked Izou away and sent several thunder blasts at him with Adramalech. Unfortunately, Izou was able to easily dodge each thunder blast and started to make his way towards Raiden.
Once Izou got close, he made an upward slash at Raiden in a quick speed. Fortunately, Raiden side stepped out of the way and made an attempted to cut Izou's head off. Reacting quickly, Izou was able to dodge the attack and managed to make another sword attack. This time though, Raiden jumped over Izou to avoid his sword attack and after doing so he kicked him away. After Izou was kicked away, space was made between the two and Izou was planning his next move.
"Raiden is indeed a powerful foe for myself and Kotetsu. But after both fighting him and seeing him fight I finally understand his weakness. His skills with the sword is entirely self-taught, his attacks have no refinement and are built up with years of experience. This next move will be enough for me to kill him in one strike." Izou thought to himself as he started to visualize Raiden's next movements.
After a brief second, Raiden started to run towards Izou. Causing the samurai to internally smirk because its what he wanted. Izou repeated the action and ran towards Raiden with a plan in mind for a counter attack. Once the two got close to each other, the both of the made a single powerful strike against each other at a blinding speed. Before Izou's sword clashed with Raiden's, the cybernetic soldier let go of his sword and it dropped to the ground. Izou realized that this is his chance and decided to spin around and tried to cut Raiden in half as he hoped. Before Izou could finish his attack, Raiden quickly grabbed Izou's sword with a single hand.
When Izou's sword was grabbed, he was surprised and struggled to get his sword free from Raiden's grip. After a brief second, Raiden strengthened his grip and after he did so Izou's sword broke. Before Izou could do anything, Raiden was able to quickly grab the broken part of Izou's sword and stabbed him with it. After Raiden stabbed Izou with the broken part of his sword. He furiously slashed at him with the piece of the sword as if he was using his knife. Once Raiden was done, he casually walked to his sword and picked it up. After he got his sword back, he started to walk towards Izou in a slow pace.
"How . . . were you able to best me?" Izou asked while in immense pain
"Your not the first swordmaster I fought. Between you two, your definitely the weaker one. Your nanomachines and sword enhancement gave you a slightly better chance, but not by much." Raiden said before he cut Izou's head off and ended up killing him
"Otacon, Boss, Izou is dead." Raiden told Hal over CODEC
"Good work Raiden, I'll send out a message to everyone to come back. There's a few things that happened that we need to talk about." Hal told Raiden over CODEC
"Got it, I'll see you soon." Raiden said over CODEC
"MAHAPADMA!" A voice yelled quickly getting Raiden's attention. Before Raiden could do anything, time was frozen. He wasa able to move for a second until he could no longer do so. After Raiden couldn't move, he was covered from the neck down in ice and couldn't move further. Once time resumed, Raiden saw Esdeath approach him
"Damn, I should've known that you would make this into a trap." Raiden said as he was trying to break free. Only to quickly realize that the ice is a lot stronger than before
"That was quite the impressive display Raiden. Why if I didn't know any better, I'd say that you enjoyed that fight with Izou." Esdeath told Raiden in a tone that is mixed with impressed and sarcasm
"If you think that this'll be enough for you to kill me. Then you underestimated me again Esdeath." Raiden said as he was slowly breaking the ice and making progress to his freedom
"As tempting it would be to fight you here and now. I actually came her to give you a couple of messages. The first message is that I've finally received the gifts of your homeland and I feel its benefits. Proof of this is the strengthened ice that you've no doubt noticed. It's stronger than before and I'm already finding new uses for my teigu with the enhancements." Esdeath said in a proud tone to Raiden
"Oh no, Esdeath has enhancement nanomachines." Hal said overhearing the conversation through CODEC
"That will not be enough for you to kill me Esdeath." Raiden said in a tone that has tranquil fury
"Oh I don't doubt that Raiden, in fact this leads to my second message. Soon the majority of the Empire will receive many of the gifts from your home. Some of the officials has already received the gifts and we are in the process of getting much more. In fact, my plans for the eternal war is already on the horizon. The next time we fight, I believe that it will be a truly decisive battle to the death." Esdeath explained to Raiden
"How much did you already get from World Marshal Esdeath?" Raiden said getting closer to breaking free
"I've gotten as much as I needed. Once the Empire has acquired the resources of your land. Then I can begin the process of creating my Eternal War through your War Economy. When we have our decisive battle, you will not have the luxury or the chance to hold back your full strength. Unless your willing to lose the shackles that holds you back." Esdeath told Raiden in a proud tone
"TRY IT BITCH!" Raiden yelled before he broke out of the ice and slashed at Esdeath. Only for her to easily dodge the attack. After Esdeath dodged Raiden's attack, she drew her new sword and crossed blades with Raiden. While their blades were crossed, Esdeath had a sinister smirk on her face. While Raiden's face is filled with fury and rage at trying to kill Esdeath.
"Keep that passion for our decisive battle." Esdeath said before she quickly jumped back managing to dodge a surprise attack from Tatsumi. After Esdeath dodged Tatsumi's attack, she ended up avoiding another attack from Wolf when he was in his lycan form. After Esdeath was able to avoid Wolf's attack, she quickly gave Raiden a smirk and left into the forest
"Shall we go after her Raiden?" Wolf asked
"No, its obvious she's trying to lead us into a trap. Besides we have bigger things to worry about if she's telling the truth." Raiden told Wolf
"Esdeath is many things, but a liar is something that she's not." Najenda told Raiden through the comm
"Then that means we have a problem. Raiden, bring Tatsumi and Wolf back here and we'll talk about this when we rest up. Wolf keep your sensors activated in case they try to follow you guys." Hal instructed to Raiden and Wolf
"Understood." Wolf said before the three of them left
(The Palace)
It didn't take Esdeath, Yashan, and Saeke too long to get back to the Palace within the Capital. Once they returned, Saeke left to his own business while both Esdeath and Yashan decided to speak to each other in a private room.
"The nanomachines have served the remnants of the Wild Hunt well Yashan. I'm proud to say that once everything is set with the collaboration with World Marshal. The potential results will be quite wonderful. Even Prime Minister Honest is excited to use the nanomachines that you've given him." Esdeath explained to Yashan
"I'm happy to see that your pleased with the initial demonstration. Thanks to both mine and Saeke's observation. We have a better idea of what our threats are capable of. As you suspected, Akame and Tatsumi has gotten a lot stronger from their trip. Though I doubt we have the full extent of their improved capabilities. Because from what I've seen of Tatsumi and what Saeke has seen of Akame. They were fighting people that didn't require their full effort. Bladewolf was even able to deal with that alchemist with little effort." Yashan explained to Esdeath from what she's observed along with Saeke
"Then that confirms that they will give me a good fight along with Raiden. I'm glad to see that my dear Tatsumi hasn't allowed himself to get weak after all this time. I was afraid the ambush would cause him some problems, but it appears that it hasn't." Esdeath said in a proud tone
"Which reminds me, are you certain it was a good idea to drop the hints of the Empire's collaboration with World Marshal to Raiden? While instructing one of my subordinates to do the same?" Yashan asked Esdeath in a cautious tone
"I stand by my decision for that Yashan. Through their spies, they would learn of the collaboration eventually. The rebels don't know the details which will limit their attempts of sabotaging us. Another advantage is that they don't know the timetable. Because the enemy don't know the timetable for the collaboration, then it will make them panic. When they panic, they either lose or misuse whatever strengths and resources they have. The instant they make the wrong move, we'll be ready to strike and crush them in one single blow. Since the Prime Minister told me that the Alchemist is already finished with the project that he assigned her. Then the usefulness of the Wild Hunt became very much limited." Esdeath explained to Yashan about the plan to give bits of ambiguous information to Raiden and Night Raid
"What about Vamp, is he a factor in your plans?" Yashan asked Esdeath
"I've instructed Vamp lead a few quick missions with Kurome and my troops. This will give him a chance to get better with the power of ice and the new weapon you gave him. He knows to return here with Kurome after a couple of days. Once they return, we will get ready for the collaboration from our end. Which reminds me, I must thank you once again for not only giving me nanomachines that will allow me to fight Raiden on equal footing. But for also providing Kurome with enhancement nanomachines as well." Esdeath told Yashan in a grateful tone
"Thank you for your gratitude General. I just hope that with what World Marshal provided. You'll see that this collaboration will be beneficial for both parties." Yashan told Esdeath
"Oh I have no doubt about that in my mind." Esdeath said with a hidden smirk
(Night Raid's Hideout)
Everyone who left for the assault mission came back alive. But the problem is that it truly felt more like a hollow victory. The reason is that a good number of them are injured and won't be in top fighting shape for a while. Thanks to Lubbock, Leone and Jade were able to avoid permanently losing their limbs. The downside is that until they fully heal, they won't be able to fight at full strength. Making things worse is that they finally understand how strong Yashan's group is and that some of the biggest threats of the Empire have nanomachines that made them stronger. Dealing with Vamp is already bad enough, but dealing with Esdeath who recently has nanomachines that makes her stronger is a much bigger problem. The final bit of news that makes matters a lot worse is that the Empire is looking into some type of collaboration with World Marshal. Which is a major problem, given the state of the corruption within the Empire. The only thing that doesn't make the moment completely depressing, is that they were able to deal a major blow to both the Empire and to Yashan's group.
"This is a problem, no matter how I look at it this is a big problem." Lubbock said voicing his thoughts at what he learned
"That's putting it very lightly." Chelsea said voicing her thoughts as well
"Well how else am I supposed to put it Chelsea? I'm trying to find an upside to this situation so until I do. Putting it lightly is the best I can do without getting depressed about it." Lubbock responded to Chelsea in a bitter tone
"Well being in denial about it won't do anyone any favors. Unless you're willing to allow your delusions to hold you back." Chelsea quickly argued
"We'll maybe if you fought them like we did, you'll change your attitude about how we interpret this problem." Jade said defending Lubbock
"You know what Jade. . . ." Chelsea said before Najenda cleared her throat and interrupted
"ENOUGH, ALL OF YOU! Arguing among ourselves isn't going to settle anything except waste time." Najenda stated to Lubbock, Jade, and Chelsea in a commanding tone
"Sorry boss, its just hard to take in. The Empire is already enough of a problem, but if they get resources from Raiden's homeland then any chances the Revolutionary Army has quickly dies." Lubbock briefly explained to Najenda
"Don't they have armies in your land Raiden? Surely they would do something against World Marshal if they collaborate with the Empire." Chelsea told Hal
"World Marshal isn't stupid, they know how to twist the law enough to make almost whatever their doing completely legal. To the best of my knowledge, getting resources from an Empire isn't exactly illegal and they know enough tricks to avoid the attention of the armies. I should just go and kill all those bastards before they get the chance to do anything." Raiden stated voicing his opinion on the situation
"The Empire has teigu users, an army, and now people with enhancement nanomachines. You go there as things are now, you'll be good as dead." Wolf told Raiden
"There is a small silver lining to this. You were all able to kill significant people from the Empire and another member of the Savijas. Besides, even though they told us this information. I don't think their as close to the collaboration as they implied. I suspect that they told us this to make us panic since they know that we'll tell the Revolutionary Army. Najenda explained to everyone
"That is a possibility boss, but this is something we can't ignore. The fact that some of their own soldiers have gotten some resources already implies that everything is a work in progress. Whether or not their closer to making the collaboration successful is a gamble that's not worth making." Akame said voicing her opinion on the situation as well
"Damn this is a huge pain. We stay calm and do what we do then we give them a lot of prep time. But if we act quickly and end up panicking, then do what they want and risk playing into their hands. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't." Leone bluntly stated to everyone
"Everyone, rest up as much as you all can. Because in a couple of days, we're going to be making a journey." Najenda announced to everyone
"Where will we be going boss?" Akame asked
"Due to the recent development with the Empire and the state of things. We need to be able to plan our net move properly. Given what we've learned about what the Empire is doing, we can't afford to take the risk in terms of timetable. So certain people will have to be aware of what's going on. In a couple of days, we're going to be making a trip to the Revolutionary Army HQ." Najenda stated to everyone

In case there are any questions about Yashan getting Raiden's blood, please allow me to explain. Even though Raiden uses artificial blood due to his cybernetic body. It is very likely that the artificial blood that Raiden is using has his DNA. Since its currently in his body. As for why Yashan took Tatsumi's blood and plans to take Raiden's blood. That is a MAJOR SECRET, but the answer will be revealed. Also when she said two down after getting Tatsumi's blood. She means that World Marshal has a large amount of Esdeath's blood. Which makes it two blood samples thanks to the addition of Tatsumi.

"What makes her so dangerous?" Snake asked Otacon
"Her teigu allows her to drink the blood of her victims and not only can she get stronger. She's also able to stay young because of the amount of blood she drinks. Aside from a youthful appearance, she's physically stronger than most of her allies and she has a lot of tools at her disposal. Last but most certainly not least, she's a brilliant alchemist. She'll be able to go far if she's in the right lab and has the right resources. I don't even want to think about what would happen if we had someone like her on Shadow Moses." Otacon explained to Snake over CODEC
"So she's smart and strong, has tools, and is a blood sucker like Vamp. Looks like the main problem is her tools. Anything specific I should worry about?" Snake asked Otacon
"Well she has a gas bomb that can turn organic materials to stone and she's able to summon creatures using her knowledge of alchemy." Otacon briefly explained to Snake
"So kill her at a distance so I can avoid her gas bombs and don't fight her in close quarters due to her physical strength. Or else I'll run the risk of her sucking my blood dry. I've fought physically stronger people before Otacon, I'll be fine. Besides, if worse case scenario occurs. There is one potential upside to her sucking my blood." Snake said causing Otacon to get curious
"What upside is that Snake?" Otacon asked in a curious tone
"If she drinks my blood, it'll be a packaged deal. So she'll get all of my strengths and weaknesses. Especially the nice little surprises the Patriots and Naomi Hunter gave me." Snake responded to Otacon
"That's right, rapid aging and the FOXDIE virus. Let's hope that it doesn't come that and you managed to deal with her before she drinks your blood." Otacon said in a slightly somber tone

"Yeah, from everything I'm hearing. Snake is good at stealth and is good at hand to hand combat. With me and my teigu Lionelle, I can do the same things Snake does and more. With my advanced senses, super strength, and healing ability. The soldiers that Snake fought wouldn't stand a chance against me." Leone said in a confident tone
"It's nice to see that your enthusiastic Leone. But Snake fought more than just soldiers. To be honest, I think you'll have some trouble against Vulcan Raven." Hal told Leone
"Huh, who's Vulcan Raven?" Leone asked
"Vulcan Raven is shaman and a soldier. Among his own group, he's one of the physically strongest members of FOXHOUND and was a big pain for Snake to take down. The first time Vulcan Raven fought Snake was with a tank." Hal told Leone
"Um, what's a tank?" Leone asked
"It's a large metal vehicle that has a cannon that can make powerful blasts." Hal told Leone
"Oh that, well I can handle a tank." Leone said maintaining her confidence
"Oh really, well don't forget that Vulcan Raven is a lot stronger than he looks. He can easily use a minigun that most people could only dream of tearing apart. As for the gun itself, Snake spent a lot of time trying to avoid being hit by the Vulcan gun. You have good healing abilities, but I doubt you can heal faster than the Vulcan can tear you part. Fighting him in close quarters will be a challenge, since he's likely as strong as you are." Hal explained to Leone
"It's as you said Hal, I'll have a challenge and I like a challenge. Besides I can still rely on my stealth." Leone told Hal
"True, but stealth is Snake's biggest strength too and the machines they have back then always found a way to find him. So I doubt you'll be able to do any better. Unless you know how to get past various cameras, motion sensors, and invisible alarms." Hal told Leone
"Like I said earlier, I love a challenge." Leone said in a confident tone to Hal

"Raiden, Akame has told me that her and Tatsumi fought some people in VR. Would you mind explaining to me what that is please?" Najenda asked Raiden
"No problem Boss, VR stands for Virtual Reality. The best way to describe it is that anything you can imagine will be a reality. Even though its fake, the technology is quite impressive. Especially with the different types of experiences that VR can provide. You'll be surprised at the kind of training soldiers get from VR." Raiden told Najenda

"Well the both of you are experienced soldiers and are hardened by what you two experienced. You two are resourceful and do your best to get the mission done. I bet if you and Snake talked for a few hours, I wouldn't be surprised if you two ended up hooking up together." Raiden explained to Najenda
