When I received another text from Jenna's captors informing me another 2 hours had passed, I snapped. I'd tried, but there was no way I could just sit here while Jenna was in danger. Fuck my mother, she was going to pay for this and everything she'd ever done to me. Standing, I called Josh over and did something I hated doing. Lied. I told him Craig had taken a turn for the worse and I had to leave as his wife wasn't here. Well that was true at least. If only he knew why. Josh nodded sympathetically, which made me feel even worse. He said they had the rest covered and I could leave and to let him know how Craig was. I nodded, immediately heading for the door, trying not to run. Those bastards didn't have Jenna far from here, which was a good thing for me. I entered the alley leading towards the location, putting a hand to my pocket. For the first time ever, I was prepared to commit a crime for my sister's safety. My hand closed around the handle of the hammer I'd taken from a nearby building site near my work. I'd return it once I was done, but right now I sure as hell needed it. They'd told me where to go, but that I had to be alone or Jenna was dead. I sighed, as tears fell. If only I'd been able to tell Michael, Dad or the police where she was, but I didn't dare. Jenna's life was way too precious. If they turned up with me, Jenna could die. I had to do this alone as asked. Michael could very easily kill them, but if they saw him with me, they'd kill Jenna before he could kill them, I knew it.

I reached the tattered and disgusting looking house the Taylors had directed me to. It was covered in dirt, by the looks of it inside and out. It looked vile. The ground around it was covered in rubbish and the windows were boarded up. I knew my birth mother's name wasn't Taylor, but as far as I was concerned she was one of them. Slowly, my heart hammering with fear, I raised my fist to bang on the chipped front door. If Michael knew what I was doing, I'd probably be his next victim.

"They went down this alley," Harriet breathed, sticking close to Steve. She was scared now, no denying it. Steve gently held her arm, feeling her fear. She only realised then she was shaking with it. Myers was a step behind them. Harriet understood why he'd pushed her away from him. If she stayed close, he might kill her. Steve she noticed was also keeping back from the masked killer.

Just as they reached the bottom and saw the house Harriet was certain Jenna had been taken to, they heard a bang on the front door. Gently but firmly, Myers pushed past both of them so he was in front. Steve kept a gentle hold on Harriet's arm, reassurance and she was exceptionally grateful to him for it. Then Steve heard something which confirmed they were in the right place, but also made his heart go cold with fear all over again.

"Well hello Jade. How kind of you to join us. Your mother is waiting for you."

"Shit! You're a stupid idiot," Steve breathed. "Jade, oh Jade, why?"

Steve and Harriet both saw Michael's eyes flick towards his wife. Harriet gasped. She'd put two and two together just as Steve had. Michael was out for the kill and Jade had done a really stupid thing which would anger him. Bad.

"Stupid girl," Steve had tears in his eyes. "We told her not to do this…"

Just as they approached, they heard a crack. Steve glanced forward and saw the blood.

"What the…" Harriet breathed.

"That doesn't look good," Steve's voice shook. Myers stepped slowly towards the door, Steve just behind him.

"Hello mother," came Jade's voice, calm, steady, cold. There was a second crack, and a female's scream.

"No way," Steve recoiled when he saw it.

Julie Worthington was lying face down on the floor just inside the house. Jade stood by the door, holding a nasty looking and now blood covered hammer.

"Oh Jesus," he gasped.

Jade stepped in to the house, smashing 2 windows with the hammer, one after the other. The boards crashed to the ground. Richard Taylor had approached her now with his huge accomplice and was trying to grab her, but Jade was too fast. With a second crack, Taylor too was down. Jade's eyes were full of one emotion.

Hatred.

Pure, uncontained, hatred.

It was then that Myers slowly and calmly entered the house. Jade saw her husband, then his mask and knife. She stepped back as Myers grabbed Taylor's accomplice by the throat. The huge guy fought back, but didn't stand a chance.

"Where the fuck is she?" Jade snarled at the dangling man. "Tell me or by Christ you'll be the next to have a cracked damn skull before you die!"

Taylor was stirring now, as was Julie. They both had blood pouring down their faces, but both stood.

"Damn!" Jade said softly. "Not a hard enough hit huh?"

It was at that point Steve and Harriet ran through the door. Steve grabbed Taylor and Jade saw with horror he too was wearing his Myers mask and holding a knife. But then she wasn't sure why she would be surprised.

"Jade!" Steve said softly. "Get the fuck out of here! You stupid girl! How could you do this? This is what they want."

"Over my dead body," Jade said quietly. "Sorry Dad, but you're right. It's me they want and I'll be damned if Jenna gets hurt because of me and my fucking mother!"

"It may be your dead body if you don't," Steve shouted in anguish and fear. "Don't you get it Jade? Thought you were the one with the brains! They want you dead! You told us so yourself! Get the fuck out of here! Go with Harriet!" She saw the tears in his eyes. "Please baby, please…"

It was then Craig burst through the door, also holding a huge knife. Gently he led Harriet out of the door, where Dan Miller was waiting, driving her off fast in his car. Jade refused to move.

"What the fuck Jade?" Craig yelled. "This is what they want you damn fool! Go!"

Jenna heard her husband's and father's shouts and her heart almost stopped. But she couldn't shout back, because she was now gagged. Nor could she get to them because the cuffs were still in place. She tried to think. What the hell could she do? Help seemed so close, yet so far.

Craig grabbed Richard Taylor by the neck, holding the knife to his throat.

"I'm going to kill you," he said very quietly. "God help me you're dead. Michal, sorry pal he's mine!"

"Craig!" Jade pleaded. "Please don't!"

"Shut up!" Craig snarled at her. "How could you have been so fucking stupid? Do you want to die? Damn you Jade! This is what they want!"

Jade saw her husband looking right at her and nearly fainted with terror right then. His gaze was blank, cold, calm, but being his wife she understood.

He was angry. Really angry. May be fair to even say furious. When this was over, she was in trouble. Dead trouble, literally. Michael's next victim? She thought. I think I was right.

It was right then Julie turned to face her biological daughter. Hatred merged with fear and Jade wanted to smash her to the head a second time. Next second, Myers had grabbed the hammer from her hand as easily as if it was plastic. She didn't dare look at him again.

"Looks as if we don't need to worry, huh daughter?" Julie mocked. "You've angered Michael Myers. Didn't you know that is a fatal mistake? Remember Eric? We may not have to see you dead after all. You might get killed by your own husband."

"Fuck you mother," Jade spat. Even though you're right, she thought and felt herself shiver. She saw her birth mother's satisfied smirk and wanted to kill her right there.

Craig still had Taylor at knife point. Myers shoved past them and entered the bedroom. Jenna heard the calm breathing first and looked up, straight at Myers's mask. She felt as angry at Jade as it sounded like her dad and husband were. What the fuck was she doing? She'd have serious words with her later. Silently, the killer approached the bed. Jenna had no time to feel embarrassed at her undressed state. Her heart was pounding with fear. Not that he'd kill her, but because she couldn't move, and knew she could still die.

The killer began picking at the cuff locks with his knife blade and within seconds, her legs were free. Then he followed with her arms, before pulling off the gag in one fast move. Jenna winced as the tape came lose.

"Michael," she whispered, tears in her eyes. "Michael I can't move. I'm still drugged. They're still using it on me." She gestured to a needle in her left arm. Slowly, gently, Michael lifted her up in to his arms. She could see he was still craving blood by his blank gaze, but couldn't feel it in his gentle hold. "They destroyed my clothes," tears fell freely down her face. "They were going to rape me, Taylor and his buddy. I was only saved by his phone. They cut my clothes from me I think." She gestured at the floor, where her cut clothes pieces were everywhere. "Michael, I'm so scared…"

Gently, the killer carried her out to the hall. Craig saw his wife and she noticed the relief on his face, but he didn't release Taylor, the knife still at his throat. Taylor's accomplice lay dead on the floor, his own throat slashed. Jenna didn't have to guess who'd done it.

"Craig," she pleaded. "Darling."

Craig looked up and husband and wife looked at each other. "Please!" She pleaded. "You're not a killer!"

Steve felt an overwhelming sense of repeating history. Unknown to them, those exact same words had been said to him what felt like a life time ago. He had to stop Craig becoming one like he almost had.

"Craig!" He moved towards the two men. Craig glared at him, pushing the knife in to Taylor's neck.

"You almost killed me you fucker," he snarled. "You believe I owe you non existent debts, so you snatch my wife. Also so Jade's fucked up birth mother can get her daughter back, only for her to die, right? She doesn't love her! You twisted, sick fuck! I'm going to kill you for even trying to hurt my wife and sister! You better not have…"

He looked briefly to Jenna, who shook her head. She was cowering against Myers, white as a sheet.

"Please…" Jenna pleaded with the killer. "I don't want Craig to become a criminal…"

Next second Steve had rushed the two men, forcing Craig to drop his knife as he hit the ground. Craig glared at his father in law, fury in his eyes. He scrambled to his feet and made to grab his knife, but it was gone. He looked up and saw Steve was now holding Jenna tightly to him and Myers grab Richard Taylor before slashing his throat with one lethal move. Jenna covered her mouth to stop the scream as blood poured to the ground. Richard Taylor gargled in his own blood for a few seconds before his body went limp in Myers's hands. Michael released him and he thudded to the ground. Craig was glaring at the killer now.

"Damn you Myers! He was mine! Why! Have you any idea of the hell that bastard has put me through all my life? Then he was going to rape my wife? Why the fuck did you do that? I wanted my revenge!"

Steve gently grabbed Craig, holding him tightly with one arm. Jenna was too weak to embrace him herself.

"Craig. Shh. It's alright son. You're not a killer. Remember? Leave it to the professional, I said. You had to this time too. Jenna needs you; I need you; we need you. Michael knows his stuff. He was best placed to do it. Listen son, I know you're angry but right now we have to get Jenna to hospital. We have to. She's still being drugged. We need to get her help. I've told Nick, he's waiting with a medical team."

Jade risked a second look at Michael and wished she hadn't. He was still furious at her move. But what the hell was she supposed to have done? Stay there and wait? Jenna was her sister. As if on cue, Julie turned to face her birth daughter, grabbing her tightly by the collar, a kitchen knife in her other hand. Instantly, all 3 men tensed. Myers was right in front of the 2 women before Jade even saw him move.

"Let her go right now," Steve snarled.

"Or we'll help Michael kill you in very creative ways," Craig added. "Taylor taught me a few."

But Julie ignored them. "Just fucking listen up, daughter of mine," she mocked. "You want to know why I abandoned you? Well, just one reason of many? You were a burden on Tara. She was raising you."

"Oh and why was that?" Jade snarled at her birth mother. "It was because you were too busy fucking that bastard Eric to pay us any attention! Eric raped Tara, did you know that? Any decent and good mother would've left him as soon as she found that out! But oh no, not you! What was it mother? His money? Penis? Power in the fucking criminal underworld? Or was it just point blank that you were too scared of him to protect your own fucking children? Eric didn't want me, did he mother? I was too young for his tastes, so he told you to get rid of me and you did so! That was it, wasn't it? Even before this you made my life a living hell! Tell me mother. Why did you abandon me? Not that I'm complaining mind you! Why do you think my Dad here is so angry? Because I put myself in danger for my real family. That's why. Ok so maybe Michael will kill me for my rescue attempt single handed, but I'd die for them in a second anyway so it'll be worth it."

Jenna gasped. Craig covered his mouth. Steve looked pleadingly at the killer. Ok they were angry at Jade's stupid but incredibly brave move, but Myers wouldn't actually… Would he?

"I left you," Julie spat at her daughter. "Because you are a waste of space and don't deserve love. You don't deserve anything. Tara is 3 times the woman you are. What were your grades in school? Average at best. You were an accident even at conception. I never wanted you. Don't ask me who your father is because I have no idea. It wasn't Eric, that's for certain. His semen wouldn't have produced such rubbish as you! The day I left you with that letter was the best day of my life! You are no daughter, Jade! I deny your existence. None of my friends even know you exist. I only kept you for the first 10 years because I needed someone to do the work around the house! Why do you think you were ironing at 2? Cooking at 3? That was all you were! My slave! I didn't need you at 10 though, I'd had enough! You were never my daughter." Then, she spat in Jade's face.

Jenna felt the tears running down her face for her sister. Steve wanted to kill the bitch himself. This was from her own mother. Next second, Myers had stepped forward and pulled Jade tightly to him and easily out of Julie's grip. Steve felt his heart swell with gratitude. Angry he may be, but right now Jade needed him. Myers raised his mask a little and kissed her and Steve wanted to hug him in thanks. Jade was suffering her mother's cruelty all over again. Jenna felt nothing but admiration for how her sister was handling it. She didn't cry, didn't move, just looked disdainfully back at her birth mother.

"Jade darling," Steve murmured. "You're ours now, a Henderson for life! All be it you're now a Myers! We love you so, so much."

"Here fucking here!" Jenna and Craig said in unison.

Steve had often told social services how easily Jade could do thins a girl of her age should not know how to do and now he knew why.

"I'm not a killer?" Steve said to Michael very softly. "You sure about that?" As he spoke, Craig had grabbed Julie and Steve was now at his side, they both held knives.

"Daddy!" Jade sobbed, something she hadn't said in years. "Please!"

Steve seemed to deflate at his daughter's words. He stepped forward and pulled his daughter to him. None of them were expecting Jade to softly speak.

"Whether I like it or not, you're still my birth mother. Don't ever make contact with me again and you may live. If Michael decides to kill you in the future I have no control over this. But right now if you get the fuck out of here and leave me be, you won't die tonight at least. For all your ill treatment and neglect of me, you haven't done anything to physically hurt my family. You just watched. You know where the door is, use it."

There was total silence for a few seconds, before Julie slowly edged towards the door. Birth mother and daughter looked straight at each other before Julie nodded, once before easing the door open. The Henderson's were looking at Jade, love and pride blazing in their gazes. But Jade didn't see this. Her eyes were fixed on her birth mother.

"Are we clear?" Jade asked her. "Don't contact me ever again, don't try to contact any of my family or hurt any of us and you can just carry on with your life. Do we have an understanding, mother?"

As she said that last word her voice shook a little and Steve hugged her tighter as did Craig with his free arm, also supporting Jenna.

Again, mother and daughter shared a nod, before Julie disappeared in to the night.

"Bloody hell Jade," Jenna just managed to say, tears in her eyes. "You're a million times the woman I am. I'd have cheerfully watched her die."

Now Jade's tears did come. Steve hugged her as tightly as he could and kissed her cheek over and over again.

"I agree," Craig said softly. "Damn Jade you're a good woman."

Steve glanced at Myers and saw him looking at the door. He was considering the kill anyway, Steve could see it. Steve couldn't lie, he didn't blame him at all. As if on cue, Myers gently eased past them and out of the door. Craig also noticed and Steve saw his son in law and Jenna shiver. Without realising it, so had he.

Once outside the house, Nick and his team leapt out of the parked ambulance. They had to get Jenna to hospital and fast. They needed to get that needle out of her arm. The others watched as quickly and professionally, Jenna was gently secured to a stretcher. Craig took his seat beside her and the ambulance sped in to the night. No siren though, they noticed with relief. Jenna wasn't in mortal danger. They knew they'd face police questions, but that didn't concern them. The police already wanted Worthington and knew Taylor would try to get revenge for his sons' death. They also knew of Craig's history with Taylor, which could explain the kidnap. Jade had gone home ahead and told Alice, who was beside herself. Jade told them later that when she found out Jenna had been saved mainly by Harriet; she'd cried.

Jade also took Jenna's phone and texted Harriet the news immediately as Steve had promised. Said she'd buy her dinner, or whatever she wanted for helping save their loved one. Harriet had text back saying how relieved she was and Jenna's safety was all she'd ask for. But Jade was sure knowing Jenna as she did, Jenna wouldn't just leave it at that. Not a chance.

Now, Jade's thoughts turned to Michael. She knew she was in trouble. Her family were furious with her for what she'd done and part of her couldn't blame them and understood it. The way he'd looked at her made her shiver even now just thinking about it. How the hell was she supposed to patch this one up? All she could think to do right then was avoid him at all costs. Ok he'd kissed and held her in her time of need, but she knew all too well how easily he could kill her. He was angry for her thoughtless and dangerous actions, just as the rest of them were. A couple of hours later, Jenna came home from hospital, Nick had driven her back. Her arm was bandaged and Craig told them the doctors had told them just to wait until it wore off which it now would as it was no longer being injected in to her. Craig helped her upstairs to their bed. Once Craig came back in to the room, Jade finally broke down in Alice's arms.

"I'm sorry," she sobbed. "Mum, Dad, I had to! Don't you understand? One of my sisters was in danger because of me! Ok so maybe not my fault, but it's me they wanted! How could you expect me to just stand there? I couldn't. Please say you understand?"

Steve and Alice sighed in unison.

"Of course we do darling," Alice said at last. "But please try to understand our perspective? Jenna was already in danger because of some fucking evil criminals, reasoning aside. Then our other daughter goes and puts herself in danger by doing what those bastards wanted. It nearly killed us!"

"I understand," Jade said quietly, lowering her head. "I'm sorry Mum, Dad."

"Oh babe," Steve held her on her other side. "Of course we understand, but…" He took a deep breath. "We're just glad you're ok. That you both are."

"Talking of killing," Jade shivered a little. Michael's furious at me. I mean, furious. I won't lie I'm scared of him right now."

"No way." Craig broke his silence at last. He looked at Jade, affection and love blazing in his eyes. "Much as I agree you were stupid; he'd never hurt you Jade. Never. No matter how angry he was."

"Where is he now?" Alice asked quietly. Not that she'd ever tell them, but she had an unfinished conversation she wanted with the masked killer.

"One guess," Steve said quietly. Alice also shivered slightly, nodding.

"That's probably my fault," Jade said softly. "I angered him really badly tonight."

"Maybe so," Steve said a little sternly. "But don't you dare blame yourself for his need to kill. That's nothing to do with you! Got it?"

"Agreed," Alice and Craig said together. Slowly, Jade nodded.

"I'm terrified of facing him right now," Jade said softly. "I'd deserve whatever he did, but…"

"Jade." Craig said gently, finally standing to join them to hug her along with her parents. "He'd never hurt you. I agree with Mum and Dad. Never."

A few minutes later they heard the sound of a key in the lock. Before any of them could stop her, Jade had left through the back door. Steve felt his heart ache with sympathy for his daughter. When all was said and done, Myers was still a masked killer. No wonder Jade feared him, even in marriage. Totally silently of course, the killer entered the room. His blank gaze past over all of them and Alice felt herself shiver again. After a moment, Michael raised his notepad. Steve knew what it would say before any of them read it.

How is Jenna? Is she ok?

"She's fine," Craig smiled at Michael. "She's in bed resting. They told us it'll where off by itself, probably take a day or so."

Michael nodded, raising his pad again.

Where's Jade?

They all looked at each other before Craig softly answered. Michael deserved the truth. "She left when you came in Michael," he said quietly. "She's afraid of you right now. She knows you were as angry as we all were by what she stupidly but," he sighed. "Damn bravely did to rescue her sister. When all is said and done, we can't fault her for love and bravery. Told you Jade was loyal to her loved ones, there's further proof. But she's afraid of you right now Michael. She…" He swallowed. "Fears you are angry enough to…" He couldn't finish.

Alice felt her heart crack. She couldn't help it when she walked to him and put her arms around him. "Michael, we know you love and would never hurt her and deep down so does she. But I do understand why she is afraid."

Steve and Craig nodded.

You are correct. I am… Was angry. She deliberately put herself in danger. She took their bate.

Steve and Craig, Alice noticed were blinking back tears just as she was. Jade was a fearless, loyal sister, daughter and wife.

"It probably didn't help you were out for the kill when you saw her," Craig murmured. "I'm not going to lie; you're fucking scary then. No wonder Jade was scared. I was."

"Agreed," Steve said softly. "Me too."

Craig pulled out his phone and texted Jade.

Come back sis. Michael needs you. I don't think he's angry, I think he's desperate to comfort you. Please?

But there was no response or sign of her. Craig sent another message 10 minutes after the first.

Ok so he was angry, we all were. But it was only because we were so scared for you. You were so stupid, but so damn brave and loyal Jade Myers and we can't help but respect you for it. Please come home? Your husband wants to love and comfort you. We love you Jade Myers. XX.
