And the funny thing was I kinda liked it. What was wrong with me?
'Gross.' We said.
'What was that for?' I asked. 'And where did you learn how to kiss girls?'
'That's what I was thinking.' Neeks replied. 'But as you said; we'll just have to get Psyche.'
I had to think about it. 'No. You're right. She wouldn't let us know how Eros got roasted. She thinks she's the cause of the fight.'
'You're really okay with this?' Nico asked.
I shuddered. 'I'm undecided.'
Neeks sighed. 'Beggars can't be choosy.'
'Let's just get it over with and forget it happened.' I said.
'Right.' Neeks said.
Awkward silence.
'One more thing.' Neeks said. 'We can't just go into it. Since we're going to be linked, we can somehow read each other's minds. You have to free your mind since you're receiving the memory and I have to concentrate because I'm giving it. Any distractions will disrupt the flow of information.'
Holy hell this is weird, I thought.
'You haven't answered my question.' I stalled. 'How did you learn about— what you did?'
'I don't know.' Neeks said. 'Naturally?'
'How?' I asked.
'Nica; do you want me to explain exactly how I know how to kiss girls?'
'No? Maybe? I'm freaking out here.'
'That's because you're a coward.' Neeks said.
'I am not.' I said.
'You are.' Neeks said. 'I'm sure that's what pulchritudinous means; chicken.'
'I was the one that jumped off the cliff.' I protested. 'You're the chicken; not me.'
'Nica's a chicken. Nica's a chicken. Nica—'
I did the unthinkable, and got sucked into Nico's thoughts.

A billion things raced through and into my mind, but in no time everything was clear.
Psyche was in this place with a lot of weapons armed with a bow and arrows. Next to her was Artemis; also armed.
'Not bad, Psyches.' Artemis said. 'You're slowly getting even better.'
'Thank you, my lady.' Psyche said.
'Seriously; I do not think Ares shoots this well.'
'Please do not shame my father-in-law like this.'
They laughed.
'Psyche; you are a strong woman.' Artemis laughed. 'I like that.'
'Well; I am not just a pretty face, am I?' Psyche asked. 'Who run the world?'
'Girls!' They said and laughed again.
'You would make a great Hunter.' Artemis said, clapping Psyche on the back.
Then she stopped laughing. 'Wait; you would make a great Hunter.'
'I accept the compliment, Artemis.' Psyche said.
'I am serious, Psyches.' Artemis said. 'Shoot that target.'
As Psyche nocked her arrow, I literally had a cold feeling. Like something cold was on my back. Like someone was touching me…
I opened my eyes and stopped the flow. 'Neeks!'
'What?' He asked as he took his hand out of my shirt.
'You— you— why?' I asked.
'I didn't mean to.' Neeks promised. 'I thought—'
'To Tartarus with what you thought.' I raged. 'You are my brother. I'm not Will. Keep your hands off; or I'll cut em off.'
'Okay.' He said.
Back to business:
Psyche hit the shot perfect.
'That other one.' Artemis said.
The next shot was twenty five feet away.
But she hit it no problem.
'That one.'
I could barely see the one Artemis was talking about. But Psyches hit it like Blu Cantrell; up style.
'Think fast.'
Artemis and Psyche engaged in hand to hand combat. In two minutes; she tackled Artemis.
'Ergo!' Artemis called.
Come, I translated.
What came made me think; Well, she's dead.
Charging at Psyches at top speed were a brown bear and a fricking tiger. And I don't mean Katy Perry.
You know how action movies have those moments when you're like; no way in Future is this guy getting out of this alive; and they do?
Exactly what happened to Psyche and the animals.
Psyche nocked two arrows and shot them at the charging predators which sounds like a terrible band name, btw.
'Psyche,' Artemis said. 'I need you.'
'Why, my lady?' Psyche asked.
'The bow you wield now?' Artemis asked. 'This is the bow of Odysseus the Cunning. The accuracy you shot was incredible. You were able to beat me in close combat. Join us, Psyches.'
'How can I join you if I'm already married?' Psyche asked. 'And with a daughter?'
'Hera has a not so secret spring she bathes in to, ah, cleanse her. I will take you there. But the question is—'
'Are you in or out?' Some iPod played.
Psyche looked unsure. 'I— I—'
'What is going on?'
The two turned to face Chris.
As usual, Eros looked hot.
But as Sia said; You're not fully dressed without a smile. And Eros' smile made him look like the whole package.
'My darling.' Eros kissed her on the cheek. 'You look rather pulchritudinous in armour.'
Oh my gods, I thought. Psyche just got roasted!
But Psyche blushed and put her arms around his neck. 'Thank you, Kryos.'
'Statuesque.' Eros kissed her. 'Asthetical.' And again. 'Radical.' And again. 'Unsurpassed. Amazing. In other words; beautiful.'
Eros and Psyche made out for so long Artemis started to get sick.
'Artemis.' Eros said. 'My dearest emulator.'
'Eros.' Artemis said coldly. 'Back from playing, right?'
'Call my tools whatever you want, Alphea.' Eros said. 'The important thing is that I can use them very, very well.'
'Psyche; have you made your decision?' Artemis asked.
I got another weird feeling and broke the connection.

'Nicolas di Angelo; what the eff?' I asked.
He was stroking my arm.
'I thought it was a dog.' He said. 'You can cut my hands now.'
'I was just playing.' I muttered. 'But I swear, Nicoló; I will hit you if you ever touch me again.'
I went back in.

'Decision?' Psyche asked. 'Yes. That decision. I do not know.'
'What decision, my butterfly?' Eros asked.
'Artemis asked if I wanted to become a Hunter.' Psyche said.
'A Hunter?' Eros asked. 'As in those girls who are not allowed to love or marry?'
'Psyches; he's manipulating you.' Artemis said. 'His aura's so strong it's frying your sense of reasoning.'
'Mariposa; she is lying to you.' Eros said. 'I love you. I would never force you to choose what you do not want to.'
I looked closely at him and saw he was the one lying. His eyes were a lot more firery, like he was angry; although he had a kind, hot smile.
'Artemis.' Psyche asked, dazed. 'Lie to me.'
'Psyche; don't listen to him.' Artemis said.
'Psyche; I love you.' Eros said.
Psyche was becoming more and more dazed as Eros spoke. 'I love you too.'
'Excuse us, please?' Eros asked.
Psyche flew away.
Now he was pissed.
'How dare you?' Eros scowled.
'How dare you?' Artemis asked. 'You tricked her.'
'Do you hate me so much that you want to take my life from me?' Eros said.
'Yes, Chris.' Artemis said. 'I hate everything you stand for. Love is useless. You were able to turn such a strong woman around because of it.'
'Vain talk, Potnia.' Eros said. 'You are only scared of me.'
'I fear nothing.' Artemis said. 'Most especially a child.'
Eros turned away. 'We will see about that.'
The memory went black and I finally broke away from Neeks; who I hit immediately after for getting all handsy.
'Sorry.' He said.
'Cosa c'è di sbagliato in te?' I asked.
'I don't know.' He said. 'I just got too… frisky.'
'And you say you're— never mind.' I facepalmed. 'It's your stupid guy hormones.'
'What do you know about guys?' Nico asked.
'Any guy given the opportunity to be really, really close to a girl; whether straight or any of the five letters of the alphabet; start to act all weird.' I said. 'It's a scientific fact.'
'Who proved it?' Nico asked.
'I proved it.' I said. 'Drop mic.'
'I'm going to use the bathroom, Professor Grave Digger.' He said.
'How's that my business?' I asked.
'If you make any more scientific discoveries; just let me know.' He said. Next I heard a door opening, then closing.
I crawled back into bed.
I tried to put the pieces together. Artemis tried to make Psyche divorce Eros to ruin his love life. Eros wants to get Artemis married to ruin her reputation.
It sounded like the average celebrity feud.
If Eros was so powerful that he could kidnap Artemis; what could he do to two kids under twenty?
No, I thought. We need back up.
That's when something became clear; Hunters. Followers of the mask. Artemis might have something to do with masks; so the followers of the mask were the Hunters. Meaning we had to find the Hunters!
'Professor Grave Digger; you just won a nobel prize.' I said to myself. Then I went to sleep.
