Chapter Thirty-Four: Side Story Pt. 6 - Introducing: The Adventures of Teddy Tachi

"Hey there Sasuke-chan," Shisui chirped.

"Go away." The eight year old grumbled.

"Is that anyway to treat your favorite cousin?!" Shisui placed the back of his hand on his forehead and swooned dramatically. "Even though I came all this way to keep you company?"

"I'd rather swallow nails so go back home."

Shisui ignored the boy's dower mood and flopped onto his bed with a goofy smile. "I came to tell you a story."

Sasuke drawled. "Oh joy to the world."

"You keep making such old man faces you'll look worse than Fu-jii!"

"You're only doing this because you know I'm sick and I can't escape."

"Yep!" Shisui laughed. "And Itachi's busy right now, so you get me all. to. your. self." His grin widened with promise of Sasuke's suffering.

"Now let's make sure you're tucked in nice and tight." Sasuke grunted uncomfortably as Shisui wrapped him like a spring roll, pining his arms.

"When I get taller I'm going to step on your head." The boy sneered.

"Oh ho~, such a vicious look on a cute wittle face!" Sasuke tried to bite his fingers when they pinched his cheeks.

"Now let's begin..." Shisui cleared his throat.

Introducing the great adventures of Teddy Tachi!

Follow him as he explores his large homeland and makes new amazing friends.

"Why is Itachi a teddy bear?"

"He isn't."

"But you jus-"

"Teddy Tachi is a completely different person, totally fictional." Shisui dismissed. "Now back to the story and don't interrupt."

Teddy Tachi lives with his parents, Lion Touchan and Panther Kaachan, and his baby brother, Hawk Sasu. While his suave best friend and awesome older cousin Crow Shi lives next door to him.

"You're only one of those things." Sasuke drawled.

"Shh!"

Now Teddy Tachi is one of the greatest Nijanimal in the kingdom of High Trees-

"That's so unoriginal."

BUT Teddy Tachi was more than just a faithful servant to his people, there was one thing he wanted most in the whole world. He wanted friends more than anything else.

That's why Teddy Tachi walked into the living room where his parents were taking afternoon tea. You see Lion touchan was always working and led the Uchi Pride. While Panther kaachan loved and took care of the family with her amazing snacks.

"You're a terrible storyteller."

"No interruptions!"

"Lion Otousama!" Teddy Tachi spoke with epic cuteness. "I wish for your blessing in partaking on a journey of my choosing!"

"Hmph!" Spoke the great Lion touchan.

"I understand Lion Otousama, but this journey is very precious to me!"

"Ho ho ho~, don't be so stubborn honourble husband. Ho ho ho~" Panther kaachan tittered happily over her cup of tea.

"Hrmph!" Lion touchan puffed out his chest and shook his dark mane.

But quickly changed his mind once Panther kaachan gave him a look that could burn evil. After a quick agreement from Lion touchan, Teddy Tachi set off.

But not before finding his dashing best friend and talented cousin, Crow Shi!

The scoff of disdain in the background was blissfully ignored.

"Teddy Tachi, Where ya goin?" He smiled with dazzling white teeth.

"I have been given permission to go on a mission of... friendship." Teddy Tachi clenched his little black paws.

"That sounds like a really big deal Tachi! I, you're totally responsible big cousin, shall accompany you!"

"It's not necessary." Teddy Tachi said quickly.

"Don't say it so quickly! How can you reject your best friend like that?!" Crow Shi wailed.

"Very well, You may accompany me."

"YAY!"

"First, I shall look in the great forest of our great and benevolent kingdom." Teddy Tachi said.

Crow Shi 's eyebrow ticked. "We live in trees Tachi, this is the forest."

"Follow me!" The little black bear flew into the branches, his feathered friend not far behind him.

Now, Teddy Tachi wasn't going to just find someone out of the blue to be friends with...

"Would you like to be my friend strange Inu-san?" Crow Shi spotted Teddy Tachi talking to a white lumped mass in one of the nearby branches.

"Tachi! Don't just speak to strange furry things!"

"Maaaaaa~" The voice drawled lazily. "Go away tykes."

"We aren't tykes!" Crow Shi fumed.

A head, at least they were sure it was a head, lifted up and one eye peered down at them. "Hm. Yep, you're tykes."

"Who are you?!" Crow Shi pointed at the man.

The man leaned back, affronted. "Pointing is rude."

Teddy Tachi eyed him with large disappointed eyes. "Panther kaasama would be very unhappy."

"Stop being so easily swayed!"

"Hello friend, what is your name?" Teddy Tachi ignored him.

"Hm. Friend?" He blinked lazily. "What's all this?"

"We're on an epic adventure of friendship!" Crow Shi spoke... epically.

"..." He stared at them for a moment. "No thanks." And disappeared in a puff of smoke.

"Ah." Teddy Tachi drawled disappointed.

"Ah!" Crow Shi panicked for a moment before an idea hit him. "Maybe this is a game!"

Teddy Tachi tilted his head. "How so?"

"Like hide 'n' seek, we track him down by asking others and make friends along the way then we win the game!"

"Ah!" Teddy Tachi's eyes glittered. "A true test of friendship."

Crow Shi sighed in relief. 'He's just so easy sometimes.'

"So he lied?"

"H... he didn't lie!" Shisui sputtered.

"He told Teddy Tachi something that wasn't true."

"It was for a good reason, alright?"

"No need to get angry, It's your story." Sasuke said.

Crow Shi and Teddy Tachi found themselves in the market place where many busy people go about their lives.

"Where should we search now?"

"I don't know, but my wings are beat... ha ha ha, get it? wings? beat?"

Teddy Tachi blinked then turned away.

"You should be ashamed of yourself." Sasuke scowled. "Get out of my room."

"What about that circle shaped thing? We could rest there."

"Sounds amazing." Crow Shi huffed.

The moment they plopped onto the strange looking bench they were surprised when a head popped underneath. Teddy Tachi gasped while Crow Shi screeched in alarm.

"Excuse me!" He flashed his bright teeth blinding any one stupid enough to look. "But I believe you two are on my back!"

They clambered down. "Ah... s-sorry... um?"

"You were on the side of the road, we thought you were a bench." Teddy Tachi explained.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!" The two younglings felt their fur vibrate from the force of his laugh. "It's quite alright young friends!"

Teddy Tachi's eyes widened. "We are... friends?"

The man with the thickest eyebrows Crow Shi has ever seen blinked curiously. "Of course! If two people want to be friends then let the power of their eternal youth spread through our kingdom with the flames of friendship!"

"Who is this guy?" Crow Shi muttered.

"I made my first friend." Teddy Tachi muttered in awe.

"H-hey! I'm your best friend!" Crow Shi cried.

"You are family Shi, it doesn't count."

Crow Shi felt his world shatter, he huddled in on himself as he sulked on the side of the road. "Fine. See if I try to help you again."

"My name is Kame Gai!"

"My name is Teddy Tachi and this is Crow Shi."

Crow Shi sniffled in the background.

"Greetings youthful friends! How can I assist you on this youthful day?!"

"It's hot." Shi mumbled.

"We are searching for a fluffy white Inu, we are playing a game." Tachi piped up over his cousin.

"WHAT?!" The man bellowed. "My eternal rival is playing a game and he did not invite me?!"

The two teens watched in discomfort as the man crumpled to the ground, weeping.

Loudly.

"Um... you can... play too. I mean If you... want to." Crow Shi instantly regretted his offer.

"YOUUUUUUUUUTH!"

*Somewhere off in the distance*

"Hm."

"Huh?" A dark head of hair adorned with cat ears twitched. "Wassit Kashi?"

'Kashi' glanced at his friend with serious eyes. "I sense a disturbance in the atmosphere."

"Wha..." His friend's sentence was interrupted by a yawn. "D'ya mean?"

"It feels as if a powerful force is building against me."

"What are you talking about Inu Kashi-kun?" Another voice, higher in pitch, asked.

The dark haired man perked up midly. "Crane Ri-Chan!"

"Hello Neko Obi!" She smiled sweetly. "What is Inu Kashi-kun talking about?" She redirected her question to her other friend as Kashi was scowling into the distant with clear disdain and what appeared to be trepidation.

"Kashi thinks someone's out to get 'im." He supplied.

"Oh?"

"Oh." Neko Obi nodded.

"Sasuke-Chan~!" Shisui lightly shook his younger cousin. "Are you really asleep?"

When the boy didn't move he focused on his face with narrowed eyes, when he felt that the boy was truly in a deep slumber he pat his head and skipped out the room.

Seven minutes later Sasuke peeked an eye open, sighing in relief once he saw he was alone again.

Now he could really go to sleep.

Ah. Shisui no one appreciates your creativity.
