Unavoidable Situation
After Barry had returned to Kara's apartment and calmed her down after she realized his injuries, stating that he'd feel fine by the morning, they both discussed the situation that was presented on Barry's plate. He wasn't sure exactly what to do other than to just wait for Thawne. He dispised the thought of working with the speedster, after all that he had done to him and his friends, but he couldn't just ignore it. If there were a chance that there was some sort of powerful speedster on his way to this time to then make himself immortal and run amuck, he had to stop him.
"I have to let the rest of my team know about this, but it's too late so I'll have to leave first thing in the morning. After they're all caught up I head back over and talk to J'onn. It'd be better to be safe than sorry, seeing as he know's more about you than what he should, there's no doubt he doesn't know about your friends and family." Barry was sat forward on the edge of the couch, running his hands through his hair trying to figure out any and all way's to help stop Thawne, whether it was before or after this whole Savitar problem was resolved.
"I can also talk to Clark, tell him a runned down version," Kara sat close to his side, rubbing his back," so he can help if he needs to and to keep Lois and the baby safe." Barry nodded and looked up, chin in his hand. He looked to be staring into a void, completely lost in thought. Kara left him, knowing that no amount of 'we got this' would help right now. She could tell how much Barry hated this Thawne guy and he wanted nothing more than to stop him. She continued rubbing his back, noticing the time. "You know, it's getting pretty late. Whaddya say we get some sleep? Don't wanna be low energy tomorrow."
Barry took a minute to respond then nodded. They both stood up and made their way to the bedroom. Barry sit up the meta detector he had brought over again as a precaution and slid into bed next to Kara. She pushed herself closer to his body, her back to his chest and held his hand. Kara loved when he would rest his chin on the top of her head, but tonight Barry nuzzled his head into her neck. He gripped her so tight that she could have sworn he secretly had kryptonian strength. "I love you Kara Danvers" were the last words she heard before Barry had fallen asleep. A single tear fell from her eye as she smiled softly to herself. "I love you too Barry Allen."
The next morning, she had woken up to the smell of fresh coffee but an empty bed. She had the day off so she took her time getting dressed, throwing on sweats and one of Barry's shirts he left over. She exited her room and noticed the breakfast on the table though her scarlet speedster was gone. She sat down and noticed a note that only read 'I'll be back in a –" followed by a lightning bolt. She smiled and folded the note and place it in her pocket.
"Excuse me?" Cisco was pacing back in forth as Barry explained what had happened the night before. Barry was stood to the side with his arms crossed with Caitlin by his side. She had been quite the whole time Barry talked while Cisco had more questions than a child asking about anything. "So Thawne shows up, spits some nonsense, beats your ass and dips, and you just go ahead and believe what he says," Cisco hadn't meant to come off rude so Barry didn't take any offense, he knew Thawne had played them all and Cisco didn't want that again.
"I never said I trust him, but if he is telling the truth, we have to stop this thing."
"This, Savitar guy?" Caitlin asked, breaking her silence. Barry nodded and went to grab a sketch pad. He quickly redrew what Thawne had showed him and passed it to the two of them.
"Thawne said that future me and him never found out his identity, but that is some sort of suit he where's. My best guess is that maybe the suit is what gives him his speed, remove it, remove the speed, remove the bad guy."
"But it's never that easy, if it were then I'm sure future you would have done it." Cisco studied the sketch more, " this guy looks like a Decepticon on steroids. I wouldn't be surprised it was made of some future material that makes it pretty hard to break."
"Doesn't matter. What does matter is that, if I can manage to train my powers better, I should be able to stop with and put him back in his prison. Even if that means I need Thawne to help me." Barry noticed his friends share a look of concern.
"You really ok with working with this guy again? Last time we didn't know and once we did it wasn't pretty. This time we do know, and even still I have to admit, I don't know if we are any more prepare to stop him than we were the first time." Cisco had always had a smile on his face and was the life of the party, now he looked serious, which made Barry know that he was truly concerned about his safety.
"Honestly, no. I hate him, for what he did to me, to you guys. If Kara hadn't of been with me last night when he showed I probably would have blown by identity. The moment I saw him I was full of hate and anger and she's the one that brought me down. But like I said, if he's telling the truth, this Savitar could be worse. So we have to stop him." Barry moved closer to Cisco and Caitlin and lowered his voice," we'll also think of a way to stop Thawne at the same time. If we can catch him off guard, maybe we can send him with Savitar."
Barry moved away and made his way out of the lab," I gotta go let the others know," he called back, " I'll be back later." After that he sped off.
