A/N Names are exchanged, and much is learned
Almost done part two, just three more chapters to go! Side note, it may end up being five parts instead of three, as i realised i have a lot more world building to do before the sequel, and we haven't even gotten to season two yet. So yay, lots of work to do
"Void."
Haven paused in her explanation, turning towards Rix. The Guardian duo were outside of the warehouse with the sparkling, her youngest Predacons flying overhead while her eldest sat in her lap, watching his siblings overhead. He had chosen to stay by her side, letting his brother and sister get a chance to get used to the sky. On occasion they swopped towards the sparkling, brushing their wings gently against the servo she held up to them. Their plating gleamed in the sunlight, unblemished and sleek, their calls to the eldest sibling filling the sky.
"I…What?"
The guardians themselves – well, Haven more than Mirage, who was keeping an optic on both Predacons and sparkling- were taking this opportunity to educate her on not only the naming of the Predacons, but the history of their bonds with their seers. Mirage was meant to keep an optic on the Predacons, to ensure they did not fly off, but they both knew they would not stray far from the sparkling. It was more for appearances than anything else, as the media had not yet caught wind of their newest assets, and they were discussing on how to break the news.
But as for right now…
"This is Void." Rix explained, lifting the largest of the Predacons, the creature small enough to fit into the palms of her servos, his wings draped over the sides. He was purring, optics shuttered and tail coming very close to a wag. It was very obvious that he enjoyed the attention, nudging his helm against her own, and she gently scratched right behind one of his horns.
"I… Traditionally the Predacons are given names by-"
"No," She interrupted and drew out the word, keeping optic contact with the Guardian with wide optics. "They're not. I mean, yeah they did talk to The Divinity, but the other just gave them some time come up with a name."
The expression on Haven's faceplate was scandalized.
So was Mirage's.
"Is that what y'all Guardians believe?"
Haven let out a hysterical laugh.
"Well it was until now." She spun around and threw her servos up, pacing back and forth in front of the warehouse doors. The guardian was mumbling to herself, taking in what it all meant. Of the lie she had been told all her life.
What else had been a lie?
What other false truths have they been told and brought up to believe?
"Haven." Mirage called from where he was leaning, interrupting the guardian's minor breakdown. He tilted his head towards the direction of the sparkling, whose audio receptors were folded down, wings sagging.
The Predacon was now sitting in her lap, cooing slightly while the other two chirped and tried to paw at her arms. Rix herself was loosely holding the largest of the three, expression not quite upset, but fairly close.
Haven took an invent, before approaching the sparkling and kneeling delicately beside her.
"I'm sorry Rix. I'm just learning what I've been taught for my entire adolescence and adulthood was wrong. I not confident now that what I'm teaching you is helpful anymore. It's not your fault, and I apologize for any more outburst's in the future." The sparkling nodded slightly, but refused to meet her gaze.
The guardian looked over to her companion, at a loss, but he wasn't much help either.
"I'm scared…"
The femme and mech shared another look, before she sat herself beside the sparkling, aware of the three pairs of optics on her.
"Why are you scared?" Not very tactful, but it seemed to get the sparkling talking.
"The Divinity told me that I'm going to have visions of the past and the future. That I'm going to visions of wars. That there are people who want to hurt me because of that." She pulled the Predacon closer to her frame and he coiled his neck up and across her shoulders, trilling softly and in tune with his siblings, who pressed as close to her as possible.
Haven was not sure what to do.
She wanted to assure the sparkling that it would be okay, that nothing would happen to her, that everything would be alright.
But that would be a lie.
While she was young she was vulnerable, not only to injury but to ideals, and the Predacons she had with her were still to small to defend her properly, still not capable of breathing fire, barely of flight.
"That is why we are here." She startled slightly, not having head her companion approach. He knelt beside her, resting a servo on Havens shoulder.
"Our duty is to not only guide you on the right path, but to protect you while you take it." She eyed them both, optics wide and fearful, but she slowly uncoiled and stood, waiting for the to guardians to get to their pedes.
"Now, how about we take a small break to refuel, and we'll make a list of every Seer and their Predacon up until you, ok." Haven clasped her servo's together, watching as the sparkling nodded. The Predacons gave several flaps of their wings and were up in the air, each calling out to each other, and to their seer below. The sparkling held out her servo, and with minute hesitation, Haven took it, letting herself be led.
"Rix."
"Pardon?"
"Rix. My name is Rix." The seekerling pointed with her free servo toward her trio in the sky. "And that's Void, Ocean and Unbrum."
The guardian hummed, before replying.
"My name is Haven." She gave a quick glance at her companion over her shoulder, a look of inquiry, but no order.
"Mine is Mirage." The sparkling looked back at him, before smiling at them both.
"Haven and Mirage. I like those names." And Haven wondered, with a sense of happiness, trepidation and being in over her helm, if this is what her predecessors felt when their own seers looked at them with such faith and trust.
Her comm. unit beeped.
::Are we going to tell her about the Dark Empress?::
She gave an almost unnoticeable tilt of her helm.
::Its her legacy, she deserves to know, and it's not a good idea to hide it from her. We'll just take it carefully, and let her know more when she gets older. She's still a sparkling, and she's a bit young to be told some things, no matter what prophesies she will get.::
The sparkling continued to pull, and almost broke out into a run as her Creator came into view, letting go of her servo to jump into his arms. He laughed and adjusted her so that she was held more securely and carried her into the warehouse, where four cubes were waiting. He tilted his head at the duo then the cubes, and both Guardians nodded their helms. Haven liked Prowl, as he wasn't as loud as his youngest companions, nor as grumpy as Ratchet. Optimus wasn't bad either, but he wasn't pleased with their reluctance to share information concerning the seer, but it was more out of concern for the sparkling than the actual seer part.
The humans were perched on the large couch, their youngest involved in the videogame that played on the screen, as loud and boisterous as her companion. Rix gulped down her Energon, slowing slightly after a look from Prowl, and the Predacons drank their fill from the drum nearby. Ratchet had stopped by for his own cube and a few words with Prime, but had quickly made his exit. For a moment, everything was at peace.
And near the middle of the city, a singular optic glowed red and the area around him sparked, as the screen showed it all.
