It remained bliss being in their arms... I could stay that way forever. This wasn't sentiment or sap; it was truth; and what was I the god of? Man's world would say love is girly or weak or soft; but I knew better. Only love could save the world. I'd seen it happen more than once... Yes, love was gentle/kind; but it could also be fierce and protective. Screw with a mother bear's young and see what happens to you... Many thought love was mistakenly always pacifistic - hippies sticking flowers into muzzles - and that could be love too; but love could also be violent when needed to protect those loved. Those who said that love couldn't be violent to be protective didn't understand love's fuller dimensions. And I would do whatever needed to protect my newest lovers here. This was especially true for Eowyn. She already hero worshiped me; in addition to loving me. Middle earth being patriarchal didn't have a historical presence like the amazons in it. The women here, despite their bravery, had never had anyone like my mother and aunt to inspire/guide them in a common sisterhood. In my world any committed woman could become an amazon; and thus safeguard the world from evil. That's what needed to happen here. I wouldn't lie - Eowyn would be the focus of my relationship here; nothing against Legolas. But Eowyn had a destiny willed by the gods that she had embraced. Our shared love was my duty; but preparing Eowyn to lead the Arda amazons was for the greater good of all middle earth. That could affect this world for eternity.

A hellish roar pierced the dawn... It awakened and brought us to instant alertness. My new lovers hesitated for a moment, trying to discern what it was; but I moved at super speed to dress and was gone before they realized what was happening. "Diana!" they called out but I was already long gone.

I sprinted but then took to the air through the trees to get an aerial appreciation. It was definitely Cheetah's roar; I'd know it anywhere. She was nearing the settlement; behind her were middle earth villains - orcs Haradrim and Easterlings. This hellish alliance proved yet again who was controlling who. Brother was making his next push into a still recovering middle earth post Sauron...

Cheetah pointed a clawed finger at the village and roared. The combined enemy force split into a pincer to attack/slaughter the settlement. The settlers screamed in terror at what was about to happen. I flew down at them with speed. I hit the right flank of the enemy first and bashed a group of them away. A massive orc tried to cleave me in two with his cleaver but I bracelet blocked it before sending a super leaping uppercut into his jaw that audibly broke his neck.

As he fell away Legolas (mid earth's Rambo!) fired explosive energy arrows from his Apollonian bow into clusters of the crazed men/orcs; they were blown to bits upon contact. Shield maiden turned mid earth amazon Eowyn yelled out a battle cry and hacked into a set of enemies right after that. I flew into a bunch of others and staying airborne although low to the ground I bashed them away.

Cheetah came into Legolas' sights... He fired; but despite his elvish speed it was nothing compared to what Cheetah could do. I sensed this take place as my godly battle awareness took into account the actions/rhythms of combat. Training with both my amazon sisters and blessed war goddess Athena on Mount Olympus had long ago made me hyper aware of my surroundings in battle. It was how the Spartans were trained to be as well; they, like my amazon sisters, craved nothing more than a beautiful death in battle if it was the gods' will to do so. We could sure use Leonidas and his mighty 300 in mid earth right now!

Alas, mid earth would have to make do with us. I angled my flight for Cheetah - now angered/ticked beyond normal that this meddlesome elf had taken a shot at her. I poured on the speed while continuing to punch through these glorified lackeys. Cheetah roared and run super fast for Legolas. Even Legolas realized he was outmatched and tried to dance away but the cat demon, formerly a human tomb raider of sorts, was nearly upon him...

My lasso whipped out at super speed and encircled the hellish feline's waist right as she was about to slash Legolas to bits; I yanked back hard with super strength; Cheetah was ripped from her feet and back in my direction; she roared her fury. "Pretty-!" I bashed her hard in the jaw to stop her from saying that stupid pejorative that really got on my nerves. It stunned her enough that I could next slam her hard into the ground with the lasso. That stunned her some more.

I retracted the lasso and then cracked it like at whip at her. It cut into her deeply and she howled. It wouldn't last long though; she could instantly turn her pain into new strength. She did so faster than most could adapt to. She was then at me. I returned to empty handed fighting in anticipation of this. Her claws raked with piercing screeches as they contacted only indestructible bracelets and not flesh/bone. I gave her a nasty right that stunned her a good deal but the malevolent fur ball was far from defeated.

Then...I sensed it. Hecate... She appeared above the settlement and lashed out with magical lightning... The lightning branched out and targeted every settler...and burned into their souls. They gave a combined scream that was so shrilling it could shatter ear drums. It was unnatural and terrifying. Hecate ripped their souls out of their bodies and devoured them; their flesh went with them. In moments the goddess' power left nothing but skeletal bones in their clothes upon the ground.

Cheetah laughed. "You failed yet again - pretty princess!" With that she and her surviving minions of mixed assortment, along with Hecate, disappeared in flashes of light.

I quickly found my loves and took them into my arms; they were only lightly wounded. Still, brother's agenda had been made clear here. This raid had been mental/guerrilla warfare. It hardly rivaled Pelennor in scope but its mental effects were no less significant. Brother - and his restored enslaved dark lords Sauron and Morgoth Bauglir - were coming; and sooner over later.
