Chapter 33

'Who is that?' Tobi asked Kakashi.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes and began to speak. Before a word could come out however, Tobi kicked him in the side.

Kakashi got thrown onto the ground before using his right hand to stabilise his body. His feet upon landing on the ground rocketed towards Tobi.

Kakashi then swung his entire leg down in which Tobi phased through before punching Kakashi in the face.

However, Tobi ended up hitting a log as Kakashi used Substitution Jutsu.

Kakashi appeared in the air wielding ten kunais. He then spun his entire body, creating a black tornado.

Kunais began launching out of the deadly tornado. Tobi created clones to act as meat shields.

What Tobi didn't realise however, was that the Kakashi in the air was a fake one.

The real Kakashi popped up from beneath Tobi and smacked him in the face.

'Looks like you aren't as cautious when it's only me.' Kakashi taunted before trying to tear off Tobi's mask.

'Hahahaha!' Tobi suddenly began laughing as he disappeared.

'WHAT!' Kakashi yelled in shock. It turned out that Tobi had outsmarted Kakashi's outsmarting as he did what Kakashi did.

He appeared from beneath Kakashi and dug a kunai into his chest.

Kakashi flung himself back barely in time, gaining a cut on his chest.

Kakashi closed his eyes as he regained his stance. Tobi took it as a chance and began creating clones, all of whom disappeared into the ground.

As the Tobis launched synchronised attacks, Kakashi was surprisingly capable of dodging each and every single attack before shutting them down with Gentle Fist.

Although Kakashi is unable to pinpoint the exact locations of the chakra points, it was enough to eliminate the clones.

Tobi looked on with widened eyes at how his clones lost so easily when a punch connected with his face due to his lack of concentration.

His mask cracked off to reveal a face that was scarred on the left. His left eye was closed while a Sharingan inhibited his right eye socket.

'...How did you know?' Tobi asked with a voice unlike the one he was previously using.

'It's pretty obvious really. I essentially could see what you were seeing, and the only way that could happen was if you were alive since we share the same pair of eyes.'

Kakashi explained.

Tobi, now revealed to be Obito, had a scowl on his face.

'Tch! So that's how you survived my synchronised attack.' Obito's right eye began transforming. It changed from the usual Sharingan to one that had a design of a pinwheel crossovered with a shuriken.

'Mangekyo Sharingan…' Kakashi muttered upon seeing Obito's eye.

Obito boosted towards Kakashi before kicking him, forcing Kakashi to back up.

Then, Obito created clones once again to attack Kakashi.

Although Obito didn't know, he had effectively prevented Kakashi from seeing through his eye and predicting his attacks.

This is because for Kakashi to see through Obito's eye, he had to be extremely focused and even then, the chance of succeeding was incredibly low.

The only exception to this rule is when he is at risk of death from an assassination by Obito as Kakashi's Sharingan recognises that as suicide for some weird and unknown reason.

When they are aware of each other however, their Sharingan recognises each other as separate entities so the ability doesn't work. Once again, it is unknown why that happens.

Obviously, the same goes for Obito. However, Obito just never noticed this ability.

Back to the fight, Kakashi managed to get enough time to retaliate.

Kakashi pulled out two kunais and stabbed the clones skillfully.

Then, he dropped the kunais before sweeping Obito off his feet, resulting in Obito falling on his butt.

Obito then disappeared once again. Kakashi raised his eyebrows. Obito then reappeared behind Kakashi and threw him over his shoulder.

Kakashi fell on his hand and used the momentum to push himself up before landing a lucky kick.

Obito staggered and Kakashi used this chance to attack Obito rapidly in the torso, face, and legs.

Then, he grabbed Obito's arm and swung him around.

Obito managed to regain his focus and phased out of Kakashi's grasp, rolling away before back-flipping up and getting into a stance.

'Is that all you got?' Obito taunted.

'Why are you doing this? Didn't you want to become the Hokage? To protect the village?' Kakashi asked as he was truly unaware of why Obito did what he did.

'Enough!' Obito said in rage as chakra rose around him.

'Fire Release!' Flames engulfed Obito as they began spreading throughout the beach.

The flames that came into contact with the ocean evaporated the water almost immediately.

'RAHHHH!' The flames began pointing towards Kakashi and approaching him.

Kakashi sprinted towards Obito as he let his Sharingan transform into the Mangekyo Sharingan.

'Kamui!' The flames began getting sucked into a barrier space.

Obito then disappeared and reappeared next to Kakashi, using the flames in his hands to pummel him.

However, a barrier space suddenly appeared in front of Obito as the flames came bursting out.

'Rrk!' Obito growled as the barrier space disappeared with his touch. As that happened, Kakashi sent a roundhouse kick Obito's way.

Obito tried to teleport but instead got kicked hard in the face.

He fell onto the ground, shocked.

'I knew it. Your acts of disappearance and intangibility is due to your version of Kamui. A short-range Kamui.' Kakashi explained as he stood over Obito.

'So what?' Obito spat as he tried kicking Kakashi only to have his leg grabbed and his body thrown onto the ground.

'I can simply cancel your intangibility.' Kakashi said.

Obito, contrary to expectations, began laughing loudly.

'Can you keep up?' Upon saying that, he instantly teleported. Shocking Kakashi with his casting speed, he managed to stab a kunai into Kakashi's collarbone.

'ARGH!'

Obito then pulled the kunai out before flipping Kakashi and slamming him into the floor, cracking it.

'You can never beat the original owner of Kamui.' Obito announced.

Without a word, Kakashi headbutted Obito, taking him by surprise.

Kakashi then elbowed Obito before landing on his knees.

He pulled out a few kunais and threw them at Obito. Obito smirked as he phased through them.

When he was about to pull out kunais of his own, his chest suddenly bled.

'What?!' Kakashi pointed to his left eye and Obito instantly understood what he meant.

When Obito stored his chest into Kamui's dimension, usually, there is no way to get to it. However, with Kakashi's Sharingan, he was able to transfer the kunais to Kamui's dimension, thus landing the hit on Obito's stored chest.

Obito scowled as he began exchanging blows with Kakashi.

Right hooks, quick jabs, left hooks. With each blow, Obito and Kakashi would both gain bruises and cough blood.

'RRAAHH!' Obito kicked Kakashi back before weaving hand seals.

'This farce has gone on for long enough!' He blasted a huge fireball.

'Kamui!' Kakashi used his Mangekyo Sharingan to send the attack into Kamui's dimension before using Kamui behind Obito.

Obito cursed as he teleported behind the fireball and sucked the fireball into Kamui's dimension.

Then, he rocketed towards Kakashi who was gasping as his left eye began to bleed.

'Hiyah!' He touched Kakashi who feebly tried to resist and pulled out the fireball, landing a point-blank shot.

The force of impact pushed Obito back, forcing him to block the air pressure released from the attack.

Smoke filled Obito's nostrils as he tried to cough them out.

When his sight cleared, Kakashi laid sprawled on the floor, his entire body charred.

Obito looked at Kakashi's body before turning away.

'You deserved it for killing Rin…'
