Kagome could hear the commotion almost immediately; the sound of drama was thick in the air as she made her way back from the kitchen. She heard Akaya's name and frowned. Walking over, towards the vending machines, she paused.

Don't forget who recommended you to this camp, Kagome-San. It's Yukimura-San that you are representing. Remember that when you throw yourself into these situations.

Biting her lip, she turned and started back towards the hall where Hanamura-Sensei's group was staying.

"O-Ouch! That's enough already."

She froze again. 'That was Akaya's voice!' She moved to head in the direction but stopped herself and shook her head. "Sanada-San will have my head if I get involved." She made her way to her room, looking curiously at the name on the door, she smiled and knocked before entering. She had her eyes shut as she entered, a chuckle sounded, and she peeked her eyes open to see Keigo sitting on the bed opposite to hers. His eyes looked her over before he turned his attention back to the book in his hand. Smiling, she shut the door and tossed her mp3 onto her bed before digging around in her bag for her sleepwear so that she could shower and go to sleep. "How did this room arrangement happen?"

"I explained with great care that you were my intended and I'd be horrified at the idea of you sleeping in another man's room."

'Intended?' She frowned, "Hanamura-Sensei doesn't strike me as the type to buy that."

"She called your mother to verify. I never knew your mother thought so highly of me."

'Okaa-San!?' sighing, she couldn't even comprehend what he was saying at this point. "I'm going to shower,"

"Can I accompany you?"

"Hmm...a smart guy like you, I'll let you figure that one out." She closed the bathroom door behind her. The sound of the lock echoing in the room seemed to be a very clear reply to his question, even though she said she'd let him figure it out himself.

He shook his head and continued reading. It was the Great Gatsby, one of his favorite books, one he could pick up and read at any point in the story; start, middle or end.

The first day was coming to an end, and so far, their team hadn't had a chance to practice on the courts yet like the other teams had. Keigo was frustrated by their Coach, but...she was their Coach, so he'd let things be. No matter what the outcome was, he'd be on the lineup for the Invitational Team for Japan! He looked at the bathroom door and smirked. 'Kagome will be right there with me too.'

(The Next Morning)

Kagome woke to the feel of someone playing with her hair. Her eyes fluttered open, and she saw the long fingers of her boyfriend twirling a single lock of her hair. "Is it that time already?"

He smiled, "not yet, but I know you. You need to go eat before the others get there and mess with your breakfast. Should I have someone prepare it?"

"Keigo, we aren't at your mansion, you can't just order people around as you please."

"You underestimate Ore-Sama,"

That confidence, she sighed, "share some of your overflowing confidence with me, will ya?"

Knock-Knock-Knock

Kagome looked at the door as Keigo walked over and answered it. "Kamio-San?" She climbed out of her bed and walked over to the flustered, angry and annoyed teen. "What's wrong?"

"Could you talk some sense into my team?! They think I pushed Kirihara-San down the stairs last night, but I was out running the tracks and the only one who saw me was you."

Kagome's eyes widened, "let me just get dressed really quick!" She had to go see Akaya-Kun, especially if he was pushed down the stairs.

"Kagome, should you really be getting involved?" Keigo asked as he leaned against the now closed door, watching as Kagome grabbed the tennis uniform and started for the door.

"What?" She frowned, "you're starting to sound like Sanada-San. If you aren't careful, I'll break up with you again. There's no way I can date someone who turns their back on their team."

'Ouch,' he said nothing, following her out to where everyone was already starting to warm up, she was running quickly so in his jog after her, he'd managed a nice little sweat.

"O-Oishi-San,"

"Tezuka-Chan, why are you here?"

"I was with Kamio-San all last night, from the moment we left the Cafeteria, we were running the tracks together."

"...who left first?" He asked seriously.

"I did, and by that point, I heard Akaya-Kun yelling from the vending machines."

Momoshiro frowned, "he was with us by the time you came in?"

"Mmhm," she nodded, "Kamio stayed and ran a couple more laps while I went inside. I swear, it wasn't Kamio-Kun."

"How do we know you aren't just covering for him?"

"Shishido-San! I wouldn't cover for someone who hurt one of my own teammates!"

Shishido blushed and bowed his head a bit, "Gomen, Kagome-Sama,"

Sighing, she looked back at Oishi who had a troubled look on his face. He turned his eyes to Akaya who was stretching alone, "then Kirihara-San is covering for the real culprit."

'Why...why is he covering up for someone who pushed him down a flight of stairs?!'

"Thank you, Tezuka-Chan. We will take it from here but thank you for letting us know."

She felt a hand on her arm and turned to see Keigo. He was giving her a subtle tug. "N-no problem. If you find out who it is, let me know. Please, Oishi-San. This was my teammate; he could have been hurt far worse than scratches and a bruised ego."

"...I don't know..."

"If it was Echizen...Momoshiro-San or Kaidou-San even...what if it was Eiji-San? Wouldn't you want to know who hurt them?"

Eyes widened, he looked a bit shaken at the thought of the younger years or Eiji being pushed from a flight of stairs. He closed his eyes and sighed, "right, I understand. Once we are positive of who it is, I will let you know too."

She nodded before letting Keigo pull her off. Their team was only just starting to file out of the building, and she'd missed breakfast due to her detour. 'Oh well,'

"Tezuka-Chan,"

She turned, smiling at Kamio.

"I'll find out who did it, I swear I will!"

There was fire burning in his eyes, she nodded and watched him leave for practice. Keigo and her met up with Oshitari and Kabaji who glanced at them but said nothing. In fact, the one who did acknowledge their presence was an orange haired boy with his hat settled to the side on his head.

"Eh heh hehe~ what a sight to see so early in the morning. Having a cute girl participating is something quite rare, and we got lucky enough to have her on our team."

Kagome reacted before the arm could fully settle over her shoulder. Pressing the heel of her shoe into his, she watched him wince in pain and draw back his arm. "Gomen, I didn't see you there! My bad."

"Hehe, it's fine, but I feel like you're lying."

"Was I being too obvious?" Kagome muttered, "please don't treat me as you would one of your female fans, I'm here to play tennis. Besides, my intended doesn't care to see guys flirting aimlessly with me."

"Intended?" He frowned, "well, does your intended have to know?"

She smiled sweetly at him, "no, I guess he doesn't. However,..." a secretive air settled around her as she shook her head.

Oshitari chuckled, "Kagome-Sama, you shouldn't give him false hope."

"You think?" She sighed, "I'm here for tennis, if the guys here can't focus on the sport, then they don't deserve a spot on Japans Invitationals Team."

Hanamura smirked, "I couldn't agree more," Stopping at a court, she turned and looked to the boy with orange hair and then to Keigo before her eyes settled on Kagome. Saying nothing, she let the situation go as she continued to explain the matches for the day.

Kagome smiled as she positioned herself between Oshitari and Keigo, Kabaji stood behind her and she relaxed in the shadow that kept her from the suns evil glare.

"Today we will hold practice matches. My purpose is to gather data so that I can apply my theory to each of you. Therefore, the members of the Invitational Team will not be chosen based on the outcome of these matches."

"Jyousei Shounan's Coordination, eh?"

"At least we don't lose to Hyotei on popularity with the girls."

Keigo smirked, "heh, popularity is all your school has, right?"

Sighing, Kagome glanced up at Keigo.

"Be quiet,"

Turning her eyes back to Hanamura, she focused her attention on the woman.

"The first match will be doubles. The pairs are Oshitari-Kun and Amane-Kun, against Shinjou-Kun and Ibu-Kun."

Kagome perked up at the last name, "Ibu?" She looked to see a guy with blue hair turning at his name. "Are you from Fudoumine?"

"Hai,"

"...ah..." she said nothing else.

"Asking if I'm from Fudoumine, does she have a problem with my team? It sounds like she's trying to pick a fight, but maybe I'm just reading too much into it."

She snorted, laughing outright at the mumbling boy beside her.

"Now she's laughing at me. I feel insulted. Perhaps I should show her the what kind of skills a Fudoumine Regular has."

She couldn't control herself; he was so random. Her shoulders were shaking as he was pressed onward by Hanamura. Taking in a breath of air, she calmed herself down, cheeks lit aglow with laughter. "Oshitari-San, good luck!" Kagome called to the Hyotei Tensai. He raised a hand before he looked across the net. He took in two he'd be playing against, his eyes turned to his own doubles partner and he looked him over too.

"What do you think?"

Keigo smirked from beside her, "he is the number one game-maker of Hyotei. Don't underestimate him."

She nodded, "I'm excited, it's been what...three years since I've seen Oshitari-San play? Since Nationals three years ago."

"You've known Oshitari-San for three years? Wait, is that why he said you shouldn't get my hopes up? He's your intended?!"

Kagome and Keigo's eyes widened and they turned to stare at the hat wearing orange haired boy with the loudmouth. Kagome looked forward and saw Oshitari blushing at the loud proclamation. "Please don't cause trouble for anyone by spreading such careless rumors."

"Oh, sorry about that." He sighed, "I guess he's not then, you didn't deny it or acknowledge it, so it's someone else."

'Where is this guy's logic coming from?!'

Shaking her head, she wanted to go to Eiji, Momoshiro and Ryoma. Familiar faces that weren't her boyfriend or the orange haired boy she had no name for. However, this was her team now. She relaxed for the breath of fresh air that was nature. Her team...was too much. Though, in all reality, Eiji's was probably worse.

"You may begin when you are ready,"

Silence fell over the court, Shinjou started the match with a plain serve. She didn't see anything all that impressive about it, but then, the match had only just begun.
