Days went by; no more attacks happened. Legolas healed quickly from his minor wounds. I applied amazon remedies beamed down from the wonder plane to heal war sister Eowyn more swiftly. We'd stayed in the massacred settlement to heal and regroup. It had grown dangerously quiet throughout the land. My godly senses, along with those of Legolas' powerful elvish ones, clearly told us that something big was coming; and very soon.
The wonder plane's sensors picked it up and mentally told me... Morgoth was now here and was going to attack Minas Tirith directly! Enemy strength? 100 thousand! Half the size of Sauron's original invasion force. Moreover, brother had used Hecate's immense powers to teleport the entire army to Pelennor...
Aragorn was still out in the field. I ordered the wonder plane to beam us all to the white city without delay. "What is happening here?" said the king with great/understandable confusion; it wasn't everyday you got yanked by a magical teleportation device! We got him up to speed. The whole thing's timing made no sense; it was impulsive; it was cruel. That was my brother!
The alarm horns/bells were sounded. Queen Arwen rode down to us in elvish armor; her ornate sword strapped across her back. "Aragorn!" She then saw the rest of us. "The Black Foe is beyond on the fields of Pelennor! An army of darkness is with him; appearing from nowhere." Aragorn dismounted pulled out his sword and tried to process what was happening. "There's no way we can repel such a force - so soon after Sauron's defeat..." I couldn't say it but the truth was darker than that - Sauron too was restored.
"Majesties - we must make our stand with what we have," I said. "I will do all that I can to protect minas tirith from destruction." They gave weak nods; they were losing hope fast. My loves came to me; we embraced. "Stay with the main force here; no matter what happens," I told them. I then kissed Legolas first; Eowyn last.
I took a few steps back and had the wonder plane beam my amazon armor upon me. With my shield on my arm I pulled free my katana from my back sheath. They'd never seen me in my Hellenistic Themysciran battle dress before. I looked different to them from behind my helmet that covered most of my face. Yet I still blended into a medieval world like middle earth more so than back home on modern day earth. "All our best wonder woman," said the king.
I nodded once and took to the air. I could clearly see Morgoth from the air. He wore hellish black armor, similar to brother's, and carried a massive war hammer. His force pushed forward with siege towers catapults and other war machines as this "sequel" to the Pelennor battle was created by my brother for cruelty more than conquest. If this force succeeded...minas tirith would fall...and the other mid earth races would go with it... They would be my brother's demonic slaves/playthings for eternity.
Blessed Athena...guide my hand!
The army continued to grow in flashes of magical light as I dove straight for Morgoth upon issuing my prayer. The enemy shot up countless arrows but most missed and those that got close enough were knocked away by my armor's magical properties. With the Olympian armor I'd be nearly unstoppable; my piercing vulnerability mostly negated from being a tactical issue.
I went to super speed with my my dive and smashed through a large cluster of marching enemy; Morgoth was only meters away. I smashed my bracelets together and sent out a massive shock wave that smote many more in all directions. Morgoth's armor took the brunt of it. It slowed him down but not by much. He lunged and brought down his massive war hammer... I jumped to the side to dodge its slower yet massively powerful strike. It put a deep hole into the ground and shook it with equal intensity. I lunged forward and slashed my magical samurai inspired blade into his upper hammer wielding arm. It pierced his armor and cut into the fallen Ainu's "arm". He growled and pulled free the momentarily buried hammer from the ground with stunning speed. Countless arrows continued to bounce away from me as the super armor did its job. They tried to aim for breaks in the armor like regular armor but it being magical took all of that into account.
Morgoth spun around and smashed his hammer into my shield; the shield dispersed the powerful magical energy to essentially cancel each other out. I lowered myself and slashed at his knees. The katana, forged by my hand in brother Hephaestus' divine forge, pierced his armor and cut into his "knees." Even though he and Sauron were only semi corporeal at any time magical weapons could still hurt their spirits like regular weapons to flesh could. It was all about equivalent fighting methods.
Morgoth fell to knees; he could no longer wield his hammer effectively due to loss of footing. Orcs and trolls closed in, seeking the up close kill as their arrows/crossbow bolts weren't doing the job. They decreased the number of arrows to avoid hitting their own; although not by much. I cut Morgoth's hammer in two at the middle of its elongated handle. He snarled at this. I let the orc enemy get closer... When they were nearly on me I held up my blade to the sky... These freaks forgot/didn't know who my father really was...
Lightning suddenly poured down from the overcast sky, entered my sword and then shot out in all directions from the raised blade. The orcs screamed as Olympian lightning burnt them to ash in seconds. The lightning crashed into the greater rank/file of these hellish fiends and burnt them down as well. The arrows/bolts decreased sharply at this. I let this go on for a few more seconds before ceasing it; I then brought my blade around at super speed and removed Morgoth's "head" from his neck; his head and body fell aside in opposite directions.
The hell army vanished in bursts of light until nothing evil was there; Morgoth had been their magical anchor to keeping them all here. I could hear the cheers from the white city from here upon the Pelennor fields. I all but sympathized at their restored hope; but this whole thing was more like a never ending comic book rather than a novel with a set ending... My brother could bring another army right back here; even now when victory seemed assured.
Ball's in your court now, brother; as always. As yin to the yang all I could do now was wait for the next move in our eternal chess game.
