Kakashi felt his body ache terribly. He laid sprawled on the ground as he opened his eyes slowly to see Obito walking away.
He felt extremely lucky that he managed to send a portion of the attack into Kamui's dimension. That saved him from dying.
Though, his body was burnt so incredibly badly. Kakashi forced his body to move as he struggled onto his feet.
Obito finally noticed something wrong and turned back.
'Tch.' He looked at the struggling Kakashi.
Obito teleported to in front of Kakashi and tried to attack him but Kakashi narrowly dodged it. Obito narrowed his eyes as he did it again, only for Kakashi to dodge his attacks more and more.
Finally, Obito noticed the aura given off by Kakashi.
'(The Eight Gates?!)' He thought.
'Gate of Opening!' Kakashi roared as he punched Obito with his new, bolstered strength.
Obito barely activated Kamui in time to phase through Kakashi's punch. Then, Kakashi followed up with a roundhouse kick which struck true to its target.
Obito flew into the air before landing with a loud thud.
Kakashi gasped as he tried to stop the bleeding wounds on his body.
Obito stood back up clutching his head. He was shocked to see that Kakashi still had so much strength left.
Obito performed hand seals for another Fire Release Jutsu as Kakashi decided to open the second gate. The Gate of Healing.
Currently, these two were the only gates he could open. His wounds quickly healed and the burns slowly disappeared. He felt his stamina and chakra recovering as he charged at Obito.
'Fire Release: Grand Stream Jutsu!' A line of flames burst out of Obito's mouth. The stream was as focused as a laser and wrecked everything it touched.
Kakashi sidestepped the attack before landing a few hits on Obito. Obito managed to overcome the impact and grabbed Kakashi's hand before giving him an uppercut.
As Kakashi got flung into the air, Obito jumped and spun at high speeds, all the while grabbing Kakashi's arm before throwing him onto the ground.
Kakashi hit the ground before pushing himself up. Obito followed up by throwing shurikens which Kakashi deflected with kunais.
Obito landed and kicked at Kakashi whom blocked it with his knees. Then, Kakashi elbowed Obito whom pulled it past him before headbutting Kakashi.
Kakashi rolled back and flipped Obito into the air before pushing himself up with his arms.
Next, he punched Obito in the gut. Obito grunted and teleported behind Kakashi.
He then slammed Kakashi back into the ground. Kakashi rolled away as shurikens struck the place he landed at.
Then, he got on all fours and charged at Obito whom landed.
Obito dodged the initial attacks before Kakashi got in a surprise hit.
Obito growled in pain and Kakashi used this chance to deliver a body slam which threw Obito back far away.
He fell onto the ground and created a dust cloud. Kakashi appeared in front of him and wanted to land another hit right when Obito used Kamui to teleport.
They both ended up inside Kamui's dimension. Obito widened his eyes in shock before shaking it off and uppercutting Kakashi.
Kakashi stumbled back and winced. Obito began putting pressure on him and they exchanged blows.
For a moment, Kakashi suddenly felt like they were kids once again.
In his eyes, he saw a young and cheerful Obito preparing a jutsu.
'Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!' Then, young Obito turned back into the current one, the one shrouded in despair and hatred.
Kakashi looked at himself and saw that he was young once again.
'Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!' A wall erupted in front of Kakashi.
Then, his body reverted to its adult form. The fire jutsu struck the wall and the impact resulted in tears around the wall.
Eventually, the attack subsided and Obiot exploded through the wall and attacked him with a wide array of martial arts.
Once again, Kakashi felt a sense of nostalgia as the blows exchanged between him and Obito mirrored the past whenever they had sparred.
However, this time, it was a matter of life and death.
Kakashi dodged a few punches before striking, forcing Obito to back off. He then jumped and rapidly kicked Obito, forcing him to be on guard.
Kakashi used this chance to pull out a thread from his pouch. He quickly connected it to the handle of his kunai and threw it.
Obito dodged it and attempted to attack. However, Kakashi pulled on he thread, bringing the kunai back to Obito.
Obito noticed it a bit too late and got hit in his shoulder. Kakashi quickly sent a kick to his jaw, resulting in Obito losing his bearings and falling to the ground.
Obito groaned as he began standing up. Kakashi approached Obito when a wave of fatigue hit him.
Kakashi realised that the Gate of Healing was about to shut.
Knowing he didn't have much time left, he knew he had to end it.
Kakashi charged up chakra in his right hand.
'I thought you used it to protect your friends?' Obito taunted when he realised what Kakashi was about to do.
'Yeah. I'm using it to stop you. To wake you up.' Kakashi explained.
Obito scowled. He then created a coat of fire around him and focused them on his fist.
'Fire Punch!'
'Raikiri!'
They collided with each other and the pressure released from the attacks pushed the two of them to their utmost limits.
'RRRYYYYAHHHHH!' The two screamed loudly.
Wounds began forming on both of their arms.
Finally, the attacks stopped, pushing the two back a few metres.
Kakashi kneeled on the ground on one knee.
He gasped in pain as he clutched his gut.
Obito stumbled on his feet as he looked at Kakashi. His body was riddled with wounds as he breathed heavily.
'Tch!' He clicked his tongue in annoyance. Obito used Kamui to escape, leaving Kakashi alone in the alternate dimension.
Kakashi sighed a sigh of relief as he didn't know if he could survive had Obito continued fighting.
Kakashi summoned his last remnants of chakra to use Kamui on himself. It was definitely difficult for him since his version of Kamui was not meant for self-use like Obito's.
However, after observing how Obito used his, Kakashi was able to do it to a certain degree.
He spent almost all of his chakra creating a barrier space that lasted for about one second.
He stumbled inside as fast as he could. However, it was still too slow. When he was almost out of Kamui's dimension, the barrier space closed on him, slicing off his right arm.
'ARGH!' Kakashi cried out in pain.
His right arm, or what was left of it, began bleeding profusely.
He gritted his teeth and grabbed the first-aid tools in his ninja pouch, mainly the bandages.
Right before he finally lost consciousness, he wrapped up his wound with bandages.
It took a few seconds but he managed to toughen through the searing pain.
Then, he let his head fall on the sand. His eyes eventually shut, and his body was left there, waiting for someone to come pick him up.
Meanwhile, in the Akatsuki base
Subaru's eyes was shut tight, as countless Unseen Hands protuded from behind him.
On the other side was Naruto, fully consumed by his rage. He was large and resembled nothing like his original self.
His skin was crimson and hot, and nine tails rested on his back. He growled unintelligibly.
'(Why the actual fuck am I here with these two monsters? I'm...definitely dead!)' Kazuma thought as he shimmied along a wall whilst activating his Concealment skill, with tears welling up in his eyes.
He was totally going to stop the two...you guys know that's actually not the case. He's probably trying to escape and then say that it was a tactical retreat.
But this personality of his is why we love him. Megumin included.
