Bella's point of View

I was hoping the journey back home would move along slowly. Unfortunately for me, we made it back into Anchorage faster than I anticipated. It wasn't that I didn't want to be here. I just was nervous about seeing Demetri.

Of course I didn't plan on telling him about Edward and I, but what if he somehow senses something. He wasn't stupid. And I wasn't sure how he would handle this. I just hope that everything works out. The last thing I want to see is the two of them getting into someone kind of petty fight.

Edward seemed to notice the tension in my body as we pulled into Demetri's driveway. He lightly stroked my leg with a look of concern. "It's alright Bella, I won't let anything happen." He promised; his expression stayed serious.

I nodded to him, and let out a shaky sigh. "Alright honey," I turned to look back to Darius. "Are you ready to see your father?"

Darius beamed. "Yeah!" Quickly he opened the car door. "Dad, I'm home!" He called out as he jogged towards the house.

The moment he reached the porch Demetri appeared in the doorway with a bright smile. Darius ran into his arms, hugging him tightly. They shared a long hug, before Demetri's eyes moved to our car. Our eyes met; and in that instance a chill ran down my spine.

Every inch of my body was screaming at me to stay in the car, but I unconsciously got out.

In a speed that I couldn't comprehend Demetri moved from the porch, to standing right in front of me. We didn't break eye contact; but now that he
close enough for me to see clearly, I took note of his crimson red eyes. The eyes of a killer. And he was standing right in front of me, just an arms
length away.

His hand went out towards my face, causing me to flinch away from him. "Please... just don't." I muttered, turning away from him. "Let's not make this
any harder than it has to be."

Demetri appeared sad for a moment; pain entering his eyes. "Do you really hate me so much... that you won't even let me touch you?"

I decided to not answer his question. "Just give me a call when Darius is ready for me to come pick him up."

"Bella, today I'm not that man you deserve. But I am working on it. I can change. I can be the man you need." Demetri continued, he sounded like he was pleading with me at this point. "Just please give me time."

I shook my head, allowing myself to look into his eyes one more time. "No... It's to late for that." I said firmly. "I'll have Alice or Edward come to get my things." I said, before turning my back to him and getting back into the car. I peaked past him to Darius and waved to him, before we slowly backed up and pulled out of the driveway.

"Are you alright Bella?" Alice asked from the backseat. "Should I have stayed behind with Darius?"

I shook my head, giving her a shaky smile. "No, he wanted some quality time with his father. I'm sure if he needs
he will call." Lightly I brushed a few tears from my cheek. To be honest, I missed him already. And I was worried.
But I had to get used to this. I had to share my son. There will be times that he is going to need his father.

For the rest of the ride it was a peaceful silence, Edward hand my hand; which was now in his lap. It soothed me.

"Carlisle would like to speak with us, he has stopped over at the house with a few friends of his. He would like to
go over some ideas, with the Dawn Guard. Is that alright?" Edward said, looking over to me with a content smile.

"Of course, it's your house." I chuckled.

"Technically it's our house now my love." Edward said leaning down to kiss the top of my hand.

At his words, my heart warmed. "Thank you... for everything."

"There is no need to thank me."

It didn't take long for us to make it to Edward's house. He was right, the property was beautiful. It sat right in the
middle of a dense forest. It was very rustic cottage. Perfect. It was like it came right out of a fairytale.

"Welcome home," Edward said with a crooked smile.

Instantly I got out of the car and came to my side to open the door with inhuman speed. Alice was out as well, with
all of my luggage. She didn't hesitate to start heading to the front door.

There was a bunch of other vehicles here, I knew they didn't all belong to Edward. So Carlisle and his friends must already be here waiting for us. I made sure to stick close to him as we made our way inside.

The inside was just a beautiful as the outside.

"Edward, I wasn't expecting Bella to be with you." Carlisle greeted us with a small smile.

"That's a long and hilarious story." Emmett said, wagging his brows towards Edward and I.

I blushed, ducking my head down for a minute to Emmett's amusement.

"Shut it Emmett." Edward said with an annoyed look, before turning his attention to Carlisle. "Bella will be living here, from now on." His arm went around my waist lightly.

"Oh, is that right, well I'm very happy for you both... I wish our conversation today was of a more delightful nature.
But unfortunately, this situation calls for action." Carlisle said as he turned to the others standing in the room.

I hadn't even noticed the others here.

"Bella, I'd like you to meet Tanya, Irene and Kate." Carlisle continued, gesturing to the three gorgeous woman
standing in front of us. "They take up residence in Denali, close to where you, Edward and Alice had went."

The one woman gave a dirty look towards Edward. "Shame on you for not stopping over to say hello." She reprimanded him.

Edward rolled his eyes. "Sorry Tanya, we busy enjoying each other's company. The thought didn't even cross my
mind."

When Edward said that, it seemed to deeply bother Tanya. She turned away from him; appearing to ignore his
presence. "So Carlisle, why don't you catch us up on what's going on."

"As you know, we have been facing a group of degenerates, known as the Dawn Guard. They took down two of our
own. Jasper... and my mate... Esme." He spoke with a hard look on his face. "I used to believe that all human life
sacred. But not in this case. These people. Must die. All of them. They are a danger to our lives and the lives of others."

"I can't believe a bunch of humans could kill a vampire. The thought is ridiculous." The one woman spoke with a shocked look on her face. "I'm so sorry for your loss Carlisle."

"Thank you Kate, it's been extremely hard on us as a family. I'm afraid we may never come back from this. But
there is still a glimmer of hope. With our dear friend here Bella Swan." Carlisle said with a warm smile in my
direction.

I blushed as all three of the women turned to glance at me.

"He is right you know," Emmett said shrugging his shoulders. "If there was anything that held our family together
it was Bella. We are all here, not just to avenge the death of our family. But to protect her life and her family."

The two woman smiled openly towards me; appearing to warm up to me. But Tanya, didn't seem interested in the slightest. She kept a cold expression on her face as she looked between Carlisle and Edward. "So, you are requesting our help to keep this human and her family safe, is that it?"

"She is precious to me." Edward spoke up.

Tanya narrowed her eyes at him, but brushed off the comment. "I'm sorry, but I don't see the reason we should involve ourselves in this. Surely you all are capable of fighting a bunch of humans."

"It isn't just a group of humans, Cauis is leading them. There is no doubt in my mind that he will begin to form
a newborn army with the remainder of the Dawn Guard." Carlisle said with a sigh. "We really wouldn't ask you all
for help if we believed we could handle this alone."

Kate nudged Tanya with a frown. "What's wrong with you? We have never turned our family down before. They are
aren't asking for to much."

The other woman; who had remained quiet finally spoke up. "Tanya is just cranky, now that Edward is no longer single. She most likely doesn't want anything to do with this human."

"That's enough Irene." Tanya snapped at her with a sour look.

I glanced at Edward now. But his expression stayed blank.

Did Tanya have feelings for him?

For some reason, this bothered me... a lot. Tanya was so beautiful. More beautiful than I ever could be. Why did
Edward pick me? Why wouldn't he pick someone like Tanya. She was a vampire... like him. I was weak... fragile.

"I'm sure Tanya wouldn't be so heartless to refuse to help us, purely from my son finding happiness. It's Edward's
happiness that matters above anything else." Carlisle said with a smile.

"Of course, I fully support Edward and his new mate." Tanya spoke with a sharp nod. "And I'd love nothing more
than to help you all. Just tell me what you need us to do."

She seemed to be changing her tone quickly. Perhaps she didn't want Carlisle to think differently of her. Because I
could tell that she wasn't happy about this. At all.

"Excellent. I really appreciate your kindness. Let's continue our discussion on battle tactics at your place up in the
mountains. Edward and Bella has only just arrived from their trip, I'm sure they would appreciate some privacy."
Carlisle said, giving us a nod.

"Oh, I'm sure they want more than just some privacy." Emmett said with booming laughter.

"Emmett." Edward glared at him slightly.

Kate and Irene seemed to think this was funny as well and joined in with his laughter. Tanya on the other hand,
didn't seem to find the humor in it. She glowered at me for the smallest moment, before offering Carlisle a big
smile. "Sounds great, you two can ride up with us"

Carlisle and Emmett nicely said their goodbyes and followed after the three beautiful woman, out the doors.

"Well... that was interesting." I said after a short pause.

Edward peaked at me, raising his brow. "I wouldn't call it interesting."

"Sure it is. I had know idea that ... I mean... Tanya did seem really bothered by the fact that we are together. Did
the two of you have a history." I wondered, chewing my lip. "Not that it bothers me or anything... I mean... you
know about my history with Demetri."

He shook his head, lightly stroking my face. "She was nothing to me, but a friend."

"Did she ever want to be more than friends?"

"She did, but I made it very clear, that I wasn't interested. She has been persistent... for many years. But our
but our relationship has always stayed platonic."

"And... why is that... I mean... look at her. She is beautiful." I said heaving a big breath.

"Your looks far surpass hers. But most importantly, your beauty is skin deep... to your very soul. She doesn't hold
a flame to you." He said as he wrapped his arms around me.

I melted into his arms, instantly feeling better. "Do you really mean that?"

"Of course my sweet." He said gently planting kisses down my neck.

I closed my eyes, enjoying the feelings that rose within me. I pulled him closer so I could feel his body fully against
mine. I wanted him. More now than ever before. Right here in this house that was now ours. I leaned myself up to
kiss him passionately. He responded with just as much passion.

Quickly we where heading towards a bedroom. Clothes where hitting the floor as we went. I felt my body press
down into the mattress and Edward was quickly on top of me. I breathlessly clung to him as we made slow, blissful
love until nightfall.

I didn't know life could be so good.

It was several hours later before we stopped, my body was completely worn out and I drifted off to sleep. Even
though I was so tired, I was so satisfied and comfortable. Sex with Edward was so different, compared to how it was with Demetri. It was so much more meaningful.

Time Skip

It now has been nearly four days since I've seen my son. I was starting to really miss him. Sure, he called me every day, several times a day. But it wasn't enough. Darius was enjoying some time with his father, that's all that mattered. Maybe he preferred being with Demetri.

That thought pained me, more than I'd care to admit.

I tried to keep my mind off it all, but I found myself sleeping more and more. I just didn't have energy. I was
beginning to wonder if something was wrong with me. But I was probably just being paranoid.

Today I didn't plan on doing much. I just laid on Edward's chest and relaxed until the sharp ringing of my phone startled me.

Maybe it was Darius.

Quickly I rolled off of Edward and reached over to my phone on the night stand. Thankfully I got to it in time.

"Hello?" I said breathlessly.

"Mom," Darius' voice sounded from the other end of the phone.

"I'm so glad you called, are you alright. Did you get to eat?" I asked, sitting up to wrap the blankets around myself. Edward watched me with a tender smile; absentmindedly playing with a piece of my hair.

"I'm fine mom... and as for eating... yeah I ate... I'm with Alice right now." He said quietly.

"What do you mean you are with Alice? Where is your father?" My heart dropped in my chest.

I instantly was thinking the worst.

"We got into an argument. So I called Alice to come get me."

"Honey, why didn't you call me?"

"He was really mad... and I was afraid that if you came... he would get more upset and end up hurting someone."
Darius explained with a sigh.

"Why where you two arguing?"

"I really don't want to talk about it. Ok?" His tone sounded hoarse.

This was breaking my heart and at the same time, I was filled with rage. I was tempted to drive over to his place and give him a piece of my mind. "Ok, do you need me to come get you?"

"No, I'm just going to stay here at Alice's house for the night. She said she would bring me over to your new house tomorrow." He said with a sigh.

"Are you sure? I haven't see you in almost a week honey... I really miss you."

"I miss you too mom, but I'm sure, the only reason I called was because Alice made me. I can't just run to you every time something bad happens. I need to learn to deal with things on my own."

"Alright Darius," I said, feeling the tension rising in my body. Just...please call if you need me for anything. And
I'll be there."

"Ok mom... I love you."

"Love you to."

With that, he hung up.

My head was spinning with anger as I put my phone back down on the nightstand. I turned to Edward and rested myself back into his side. "I swear I'm going to kill that man." I said with a glare.

Edward smiled slightly, kissing my forehead. "As attractive as that sounds coming from you, I can't let you do that." He teased me.

"I mean it... he just... has to ruin things. Darius was looking forward to spending time with him... and now Darius
can't even spend an entire day with him. Because of his temper."

Calmly Edward stroked my back; peaking down at me with concern. "Maybe Darius will be more willing to talk
about what happened tomorrow. For now, you should get your rest."

I knew he was right. But it was hard to unwind after getting that phone call. I was awake now and completely
distracted with my own thoughts. Why did things have to be so difficult? Demetri has been complicating my life for
far to long. I only wished that I had the strength to give him a good punch in the face.

Slowly I peaked over at the clock; it was three in the morning. Edward was right, I needed to get some sleep.
And sure enough, it didn't take me long to fall back asleep. This time, I had a dream.

There was blood everywhere, and standing in the middle of it was Darius. He was sobbing over a crumbled up body
at his feet. Blood coated his mouth, his hands, his clothes. It was like a scene from a horror movie. Demetri
appeared next to Darius, with a look of pride in his eyes. If I was understanding what I was seeing, in my dream, it
appeared that Darius had killed a human and Demetri was standing next to him, supporting him. Encouraging him
to be a monster.

I woke up in a sweat, panting and feeling absolutely ill.

Edward, watched me with a tense expression. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah... just had a bad dream." I sighed, looking down at my trembling arms. "I think I need to get a drink." My
mouth felt completely dry and had an awful metallic taste.

"Would you like a water?" He asked, resting his hand over my forehead. "You're burning up."

I nodded meekly. "Yes, please."

Without a word Edward disappeared from my head, but was back in seconds with a cup. He didn't hesitate to hand
it to me; a look of concern was on his face as he watched me chug it down.

"How are you feeling? Any better?"

"Yeah, I think I'm just a little dehydrated." I said, attempting to shrug off the nausea turning in my stomach.

"Is there anything else I can get you? Should I call Carlisle to come back over here? He isn't to far from here."

I shook my head quickly. "No, no don't call him back and burden him with something so silly. I'm perfectly fine. I
just want you here next to me." I motioned for him to come back to bed.

He moved now to lie down beside me and pull me close to his chest. I snuggled closer to him and sighed in relief.
His body was so smooth and cold that it helped cool me down. It was comforting to know that he was here... that's
all I ever wanted. To feel safe and protected. Those where feelings that I felt with Demetri.

We laid together, for a long time; long enough for me to fall asleep. But it felt like I wasn't asleep for long before I
getting up. My stomach was churning, my mouth was filling with saliva. I knew I was going to vomit. Quickly I got
my feet and went running across the hall to the bathroom. I almost didn't make it, but I dropped to my knees in
front of the toilet and began to puking.

I felt Edward at my side, nicely pulling my hair back from my face. "Are you alright?" His tone sounded panicked.

"I'm fine, this is probably... just stress related." I smiled weakly at him, but another wave of nausea hit and I was
moved my head back to the toilet to vomit again.

"What can I do?" Edward urged.

"I could... just use some water." I said clearing my throat.

Edward quickly walked out of the room to get me a drink. Thankfully the nausea seemed to disappear and I
cautiously went back to the bedroom to grab my tooth brush. I wanted to get this nasty taste out of my mouth.
Edward returned with my water and watched me closely as I took a few sips. I was nervous about drinking to
fast, and making myself sick again.

"Are you feeling any better?"

I nodded with a small. "Yeah, I'm ok now. I just need to brush my teeth."

"I should really call Carlisle, to make sure everything is ok." Edward sighed.

"That's not necessary." I said squeezing his hand. "Humans get sick, every once in a while. It's normal."

He watched me, concern still in his eyes as I left the room to brush my teeth. I didn't want him to worry about me.
I knew that I was ok. It could have been food poisoning or even just the stomach flu. It could be any number of
reasons. It could be from stress... pregnancy... no. No, I don't think I'm pregnant.

My heart dropped into the pit of my stomach.

But it was extremely possible. We had left so abruptly when Demetri had lost control, I didn't think of taking my
birth control with me. Alice had most of my things packed, it didn't even cross my mind. I didn't anticipate having
sex during that trip. And Edward and I... have been very... intimate.

I needed to find out if this was the case. I need to know if I was...pregnant.

Darius' Point of View

I shoved my phone into my pocket and sighed deeply as I looked to Alice.
She gave me a look of disappointment; shaking her head. "You should have been open and honest with her Darius, she is your mother."

"I know, but I can't. If she finds out what happened, she is going to be heart broken... and she will never let me go back to my dad's again." I said with a tiny frown.

"After everything that's happened, do you really want to go back over to your father's?" Alice asked raising a brow.

I shook my head slowly. "No, I don't ... but he loves me. And if I was to just stop coming around, it would hurt him. And I don't want to cause either of my parents any pain."

"Darius... if I wouldn't have showed up... things would have been so much worse than they are now. This girl. would be dead." Alice said, nodding over to the young girl; lying in bed; sobbing.

Guilt punched me hard in the stomach and I adverted my eyes from the girl. It was all my fault. I almost... did the one thing that I promised my mom I'd never do.

"She is going to be ok... right?" I asked, keeping my head down.

"Her transition is almost over." Alice said with a sigh.

My father, had been decent the first day that I was there. It was normal. Just like old times. But when I got up in the morning, I found that the entire kitchen was full of innocent human women.

They were all bond in ropes, most of them where barely dressed. They were drugged out of their minds, weak, sickly and my father... he was enjoying himself. He was enjoying being the one in control of their lives.

He told me, that I had to kill one of them. Before I could be considered a man. But I refused. He wouldn't take no for an answer. He told me... that if I didn't kill one of them woman... he wouldn't accept me as his son.
He would be done with me.

And me, being an idiot, listened to him.

The girl that was here with us now, was the girl that I had choose to kill... I can't believe I would ever consider doing something like this.

I bit into the girl's neck and she screamed, it was a sound that I would carry in my mind for the rest of my life.

That horrible scream. I began to drink her blood and for a moment I lost control of my morals. The taste was unreal. It was the best thing I've ever experienced.

That's when Alice stopped me. Just in time, seconds later and this girl would be dead. But now... she would be a vampire. Because of me. I decided right then and there that I was going to leave with Alice.

Alice and I stayed at her house with this girl. Hopefully when the girl woke up, we could explain everything to her... I just hoped that she would forgive me.

Because I would never forgive myself. And I will never tell my mom what happened here. She would be so... upset with me.

"What should I do? What should I say to her... when she wakes up?" I asked, looking to Alice.

Alice shrugged her shoulders, lightly stroking the top of my head. "Tell her the truth. She deserves that much. It's going to be ok. I'll be right here with you."

I inhaled slowly and nodded. "Alright, but... what if... she freaks out and runs away."

"Then we will have to follow her." Alice said with a small smile. "She is our responsibility now Darius."

I just wished that this whole thing didn't happen. I wished that I never went over to my father's house.

Now I understood why my mom said there was no way for them to get back together. My father, was a monster. A killer. I could see that now. He had no respect for humans. Their relationship would have never lasted. She really did make the best choice.

Part of me, never wanted to return to my father. But I knew that I had to. I just had to be strong and not let him influence my choices. I didn't care what he said. I wouldn't drink from humans, ever again. If he couldn't respect my choice, that's his problem.

So, I decided that after everything that has happened, I will only go over to stay with my father, once a week. And depending on how that certain day goes, I would stay the night.

But that's all I could give him. I didn't trust him anymore. And I frankly lost a lot of respect for who he is as a person.

Maybe one day, he would change. That's what he believes anyway. He thinks that he can become a good man. Someone who deserves my mother.

But I had my doubts.

"Looks like, it's over." Alice said after a long pause of silence.

Hesitantly I turned my sights on the girl, watching her closely. She laid silent now, her chest was no longer rising and falling. She was much more pale now and her features turned sharper, flawless.

Her skin was a soft, golden brown; almost like the perfect tan. She had wild, thick curly hair. It was as black as coffee. She was beautiful and exotic. I wondered where she came from.

Her eyes opened; revealing bright crimson eyes; like my father's. Her eyes darting around, before resting on Alice and I.

"Who are you?" Her accent was very strange, I've never heard of anyone that spoke like her.

"My name is Alice and this is Darius." Alice said with a wide smile. "And what is your name?"

"Jada, wh-where am I?" She looked around the room; confusion coming to her face. "Everything is so clear."

"You are in Anchorage Alaska." I spoke up, with a hard swallow, I watched her surprise.

"What?! How did I get here? I have to return home to Jamaica. Immediately." She got up fast; inhumanly fast.

"Before you leave, there is a couple things we need to talk with you about. Now, we aren't going to hurt you. We don't know how you got here. We just want to help." Alice said, moving to block her exit.

She stared at Alice for a moment. "I don't know... I really need to get home. My mother is sick at home, she can't care for all my siblings on her own."

"It won't take long, there was an accident... and well... it's pretty serious." Alice paused, before turning to me.

I nodded and gathered up all the courage that I could. This was going to be hard.
