The grass was swaying.
Her eyes followed the blades as they gently gave in to the winds persistent pull. Smiling at the sound of little footsteps coming up from behind her. She turned and held her arms out in time to catch a ball of energy in her outstretched arms. Laughing, she lifted a small girl into her arms and sighed at the smudge spots on her cheeks. "Where was Kimiko-Chan today?" She pressed a kiss to the girls' forehead and brushed her purple-black hair from her deep blue eyes. The wild flare of her hair was all her father, even in its length falling to her shoulders, it still flipped out a bit from her neck.
"Ore-Sama was at the park with Otou-San!"
Sighing, Kagome shook her head before she burst into a fit of laughter, "Kimi-Chan, won't you speak normally with Okaa-San?"
The girl tilted her head before smiling, "for Okaa-San, hai!"
"Kimi-Chan, where is Otou-San?" Kagome looked around the room, her eyes searching out the man responsible for her little girls chosen vernacular.
"Otou-San is outside with Obaa-San!"
"Eh?" Kagome walked towards the front door and smiled brightly as she saw her mother standing by the fence with Keigo. The two talking and laughing made her heart leap as she relished in her family getting along so well with one another.
"Obaa-San!" Kimiko yelled out to the older woman. Watching giddily as she turned and scurried inside to give her daughter and grandchild a hug.
"Ohayo, Okaa-San."
"Kagome, my beautiful girl. I thought I'd bring you by a watermelon!"
'How random,' Kagome smiled, "arigatou, Okaa-San." She noted the watermelon that Keigo was holding, ushering her mom inside as she sat Kimiko down, she let herself drift into conversation with her mom while Kimiko and Keigo went to the kitchen to break into the large melon that her mother had brought over.
"Kagome, I thought I'd give you this on my way over."
Kagome looked up and took what looked like a letter from her mother, "ah, is this...?" She opened the letter and her eyes took in the picture of Shuusuke and her brother, they were both on Tour competing at Wimbledon. Smiling, she sighed.
"Do you miss it?"
Kagome looked up at her mother and smiled, "Tennis? Hm, I never really gave it up, you know? When I made my choice, I knew I wanted. It really was a no-brainer. I don't think, even if I was given the chance to do it over, I know I would make the same choice. The obvious choice...really, it's always been Keigo. Besides, I love coaching!"
Smiling, Ayana pulled her daughter into a hug before she dropped her eyes down, "to think, it's been five, almost six years since you and Keigo got married. My little girl has her own family, a husband, a little girl and then this one is on the way." She sighed as she touched her hand gently to the barely visible belly under the loose navy blouse her daughter wore.
"A lot really has changed..." Kagome looked up as Keigo came in and placed a tray of watermelon slices down before them. Kimiko already had her teeth sunk into one. "We should have a get-together, with all the family."
"Sure, because getting your brother back here is as simple as calling him home now." Ayana pouted.
Laughing, she shook her head, "you're calling the wrong person. I'll make the arrangements, mama...you relax, and I'll let you know when he'll be back."
A serene look fell over her mother's eyes. Talking a little longer before she stood and excused herself. Kagome relaxed into Keigo's arms and sighed.
"So beautiful, a dream..."
"Hm?" Kagome smiled up at her husband, "you think so? What part of this is so dream like?"
He chuckled, kissing her along the neck, he sighed, "I won't ask you yet, you aren't ready. However, when I do ask you, promise me you'll say yes."
"...won't ask me what?"
"Promise me,"
Kagome blinked, the world around her began to grow fuzzy.
"Promise me~"
"...I...I promise."
He leaned in and kissed her sweetly on the forehead, her eyes closing at the gentle touch.
"Kagome..."
"Yes?"
"Kagome,"
"Hm?"
"Kagome, it's time to get up. You need to eat something before we head to practice."
Kagome's eyes slowly opened; her cheeks were glowing. Beside her bed, Keigo was leaning over with his hands on his knees, a look of curiosity on his face.
"Kagome, were you dreaming of something nice? You look flustered," he smirked.
"Baka!" She pulled her pillow from behind her head and threw it at him. Watching him dodge with ease as he laughed softly at her bad aiming. He bent forward and kissed her on the forehead. All the heat that had left her cheeks in her annoyance came rushing back to her face in full by that simple action alone. "BAKA!" Grabbing another pillow, a book, a brochure, pamphlet, even her phone was flung across the room at him.
Keigo left the room with his shoes and socks in hand, a huge smile on his face as he shut the door behind him to avoid her throwing anything else at him.
She shook her head, bringing her hands to her cheeks, she closed her eyes and heaved a breath of air in. "What the hell was that!?" With her eyes closed, she could see the little girl she'd held in her arms clearly. Never in her wildest...dreams...well, apparently only in her wildest dreams, still...she never thought of having kids before. She never imagined life as a wife...or giving up Tennis. Becoming a Coach or anything less than a full time Tennis Player, she couldn't figure that into her life. No, it was just a dream. Getting so worked up over it, there was no point.
"I won't ask you yet, you aren't ready. However, when I do ask you, promise me you'll say yes."
Her cheeks burned aflame again, "it's because of last night. Keigo said all those weird things to me...that's all. I just dreamed it up because of that." She climbed out of bed and got ready for practice. Her body was heavy, but surprisingly, she didn't feel like her legs were going to fall off. "I'll most likely be playing against Keigo today, or Wakato-San..." She clenched her fists as she tried to rid her mind of the little girl from her dream. She glanced at the mirror; her windbreaker held loosely in her hand. "...that's right," she brought her free hand up to her belly, a weird feeling curled under her hand, "there wasn't just one."

"What was all that yelling about?"
Keigo looked back over his shoulder and chuckled, "I honestly couldn't tell you. Kagome is just having one of those mornings."
"One of those mornings?"
"Baka," Keigo tightened his laces as he turned his eyes to Oshitari, "I just woke her up and I think she might have had a troubling dream or something. I couldn't hear her well enough on the other side of the door, but I'm sure she said something about "it's just a dream". Or something akin. Whatever it was, she through her phone at me too." Keigo lifted the phone in front of Oshitari as he said this.
"She'll be okay? I mean, the whole camp was talking about you two this morning. Shuusuke was showing off his camera and the photos he took of you both."
'Photo's?' Chuckling, "he plans to send them to him, I bet."
He walked towards the cafeteria and grabbed a bowl of rice, eggs and bacon, fruit on the side. Thanking the younger students before sitting across from Wakato. He smirked up at the hat wearing orange haired copy genius. "Something bothering you? It's not the fact that her boyfriend knows of your shameless flirting, is it?"
"Tch, she could do better."
"Doubtful, no one will love her as much as Ore-Sama. I intend to see to her future, and her happiness. In whatever way that she wishes, I will be there for her." He dug into his food, eating while he thought curiously about that morning and Kagome's oddly bashful character. 'Something is certainly bothering her. I'll have to find out what it is later on.'

Me: Here is chapter 43, and 44 is also done, so~ Yeah. Merry Christmas to all and to all a fantastic NEW YEAR! I know I'm focusing a lot on Kagome, and less on Tennis. Once in a blue moon, the next chapter too, you'll see me skip to another's persons vantage point. In the series, we didn't just follow Ryoma around. There were times where we were following Kirihara or Shuusuke, Eiji even. Special chapters like that are far and few between, but I like the idea of giving my other characters some deserved character building and some story time. LOVE YOU ALL!
