She had met them...originally it was fine as just them...but soon he wanted to be more than just them.
(Present)
Kagome had explained quickly to Vegeta that she had to check on Chichi. Originally, she'd made to go on her own, but Vegeta wouldn't have it.
"I'll watch these two," Raditz who had been listening in on the two in passing, interrupted as he entered the room on the spaceship that the Saiyan infants lay asleep in.
Bulma looked unsure about whether Vegeta would agree to it, but she spoke up too, offering to help Raditz while the two were away.
"Vegeta?"
Raditz was the only one who didn't understand the trepidation in his Prince, Bulma and Kagome. He had no recollection of the wish or the damage that followed it. So, when he lifted the sleepy Chaya into his arms, he looked at his prince with a look of confusion. "Hey, they'll still be here when you get back. It's not like you're going to disappear."
Bulma tightened her fists painfully at her side as Kagome moved beside her.
"We will be back, please watch over them until then."
Shockingly, Vegeta gave in and followed Kagome, but not before giving Trunks a final look. "She's already wished for the undoing of my entire life as I once knew it, and now I'm leaving my son and daughter in her care?" Lifting off the ground and into the air with Kagome beside him, the two took flight towards the direction of Chichi and Gohan.
Tying her hair back as she slowed down for a moment to avoid the wind whipping at her hair. Kagome smiled, "Bulma is no longer the threat that she was. We must move forward, Vegeta. Besides..." she brought a hand to her heart as she took his in the other. "I brought the on, not Bulma. I was the one that cost you your life."
'...' It was a conundrum to be sure. "I must be at fault too," his hand tightened in hers and he pulled her into his arms, the breeze playing with her hair in its new restrictions. Tickling at his arm as he held her close to his chest. "He won't even be the same, Kagome."
"...I know." Tears fell endlessly from her eyes as she thought of the boy she'd completely fallen for, well before Vegeta had even stolen her heart away. "I want to do everything I can to protect them."
"We will. At least, I imagine you didn't travel back in time and across the universe to fix this all on your own."
"Of course not," she smiled through her tears before pulling back and floating off a distance from him. Flying backwards as he followed her, his eyes locked with hers. "I know I couldn't dream of doing this on my own...together, we can make things right. Right?"
He didn't respond, didn't need to...or, know how to. Speeding up, he flew by her side. It was the only thing he could think to do, to reassure her that he would, from this point on, be by her side. He hoped it was enough.

Gohan had left his home while his mother was crying in her room. Not able to say or do anything for her, he couldn't speak, he barely found it in him to breathe after he'd woken from the onslaught of memories. As emotionally brought down as he was, he knew he'd be of no help to his mother. So, he chose the cowards out. His window. The Nimbus. Floating around aimlessly in the sky as he thought of his younger brother, his baby girl and beautiful wife Videl. Six years old, and he was cursed with visions of a future he may never have, because of a wish. A foolishly made, wish. "Can things really turn out like they were before? Kagome being here is already different. Bulma and Vegeta never getting together is proof that this timeline is no longer the same too… so, Videl." He sighed, laying back on the cloud he sat on, he stared up at the stars above him. "No, things won't be the same. However, I can control some aspects of my life. I'll find you again, Videl. I can't promise that same little girl, but I find you, and we'll go from there. Wait for me..." He glanced to his left at the feel of someone heading in his direction. 'Guess...they finally made it back.' Gohan grinned as he closed his eyes and relaxed a bit into the comfort of his cloud.

Roshi looked out his window at his longtime pupil. It had been hours since Krillin stepped outside and just stared back at the house. Sitting there with a thoughtful expression that he'd never seen before; he could only imagine what was going on through his head. Oh, he'd been hit hard with memories too, but it wasn't his wife and daughter who had been taken from him. No, he couldn't put himself in Krillin's shoes. The boy had his heart torn out of his chest, and from what Roshi remembered, it hadn't been easy for Krillin to capture the beautiful 18. If fighting the Androids and then the Cell fight wasn't enough, chasing her around the world and wooing her was its own battle.
"These kids deserve happiness." He sighed, turning away from the fighter and walking back to his room.
Krillin, who had been none the wiser to his Master watching him from the window, had been staring at the front door lost in his thoughts. He could almost hear 18 yelling at him to compete in a martial arts tournament and to bring home the grand prize. He could see Marron, his daughter, running out that very door and as she grew close to him...vanishing. Something inside of him was desperately reaching out to the two blondes who had burrowed themselves deeply into a place they could never dream to leave, his heart. It was a painful experience, but one he was content to drown himself in. Unlike the others, he couldn't go out looking for his future wife. He'd have to wait and hope that things worked out the way they had before. After all, she would once again be set to kill them...and when that happened, he'd be there to stop her, to protect her...to save her. "18...this is just a test of time; I can wait for you again." He closed his eyes and smiled at the feel of the wind.

Chichi answered her door at the sound of knocking, her eyes rimmed red, widened at the sight of Kagome before she threw her arms around the girl before her. "Oh, thank goodness your back! You...you..." she pulled back and took in the lack of a belly. "You had the baby!"
"I did," Kagome smiled, "in fact, I had two."
"Two!? Oh, Kagome, congratulations!"
Shaking her head, Kagome saw through the excitement and tightened her arms around the heartbroken mother. "Chichi, don't hide your tears. I know you must have remembered."
"...Kami...I'm so scared that I won't have him. Already things are different, Kagome. What if Goten is never born?" Gravity pulled at the woman and Kagome fell to her knees in the doorway with Chichi clutching tightly at her clothes. Her face buried in her shirt as she cried helplessly into the younger girls' arms.
Almost happy that Vegeta had separated from her to go and check on Gohan. "I can't say what the future holds, Chichi. I can only promise you that I'll be there with you every step of the way, and no matter what hurt comes, we'll get through it together. All that we can do is keep moving forward, one step at a time. The choices that lay ahead of us, they may not be the same as before, but this is no longer the same timeline. Just...breathe...and keep looking forward."
'Just breathe and keep moving forward...' Her heart cried at those words, but she couldn't deny that Kagome was right. This was no longer the timeline she once knew. Whatever happened from here on out, it was a new choice, and whatever came would need to be dealt with in its own unique way. "Do you think Gohan and Goku also remembered?"
Kagome frowned at the curious thought, "I have no idea if Goku recalled. He's not...well..."
"Don't worry, Kagome. He'll be back, but I guess you're right. He may not remember until he comes back. Gohan though, he's only six...remembering something so painful..."
"Vegeta is with him now, I'm sure he'll be fine, Chichi. In fact, I know he will. For now, you should get some rest."
Sighing, Chichi let the girl pull her up as she stood with her hand still clutching hers. "I guess you're right. I just…I'm scared I'll see it again. I've never felt so helpless as a mother then when Goten cried out for me."
Kagome closed her eyes as she fought back the memories of that dreadful wish. "I know..." Feeling as though she couldn't say anything else, her eyes watched the older woman, her feelings heavy in her chest. 'I still feel helpless.'

Me: So, I guess it's been a pretty minute since I've been here, but I was doing some careful consideration on how to continue the next ARC. Since we already know how timelines change, I had to consider the changes and what's already happened. Hope you enjoyed the chapter, I'll update more soon.
