Bella's Point of View

"This is a pretty big deal Bella, you really should have been more careful." Rose sighed, eyeing my with concern. "Unless you had... planned on... having another child, which you have every right to do so, with who ever you want."

"No, I didn't do this on purpose, but relax, we aren't even sure if I am pregnant yet." I protested.

"I didn't even know that was remotely possible until I met Darius." Tristan said with a curious look in my direction.

He stood next to Edward in the other room.

Edward looked to me, appearing to have mixed emotions at the moment. He hasn't said much about the possibility yet. For once I was the one to get a sneak peak inside of his mind.

Was he excited? Scared? Angry? I couldn't tell.

"There is a lot of things that could go wrong. Sure Bella's pregnancy with Darius went fine... but there is no telling how this one will go." Rose said with a frown, looking between Edward and Tristian. "She needs us now, more than ever."

"Rose, like I said, that's if I'm pregnant."

"Well, when will Carlisle be over, isn't he stopping by to do a little assessment?" Tristian wondered.

"He is on his way right now." Edward spoke up, keeping his expression blank. "Alice and Darius are coming over as well."

There was a knot in my stomach, it kept twisting tighter as the seconds ticked past. I was incredibly nervous about Darius finding out... that he may be getting a sibling.

Part of me, was hoping that I was pregnant. But another part of me knew this was terrible timing. I had only just left a previous relationship. What would Rene and Charlie think? And worse... what would Demetri think.

I cringed at the thought of him finding out that I would be having Edward's child. He would... destroy everything. No one would be safe.

"Don't worry Bella, if you are expecting a child, I'll help you as best I can. I'll protect you both with my life." Rose said with a serious nod.

"Thank you Rose, that means a lot." I smiled at her, feeling my eyes sting with tears.

Just hearing that from her, made me feel a little better. I just wished that Edward would say something about all this.

Maybe he was just waiting to know for sure.

Suddenly, everyone in the room froze, glancing at each other, before each of them went running out of the room.

I quickly followed them, my heart racing in my chest. They all stood out front on the porch, blocking my view.

"What's going on?" I asked as I pushed past Edward, searching for this threat.

"Mom!" Darius smiled, waving at me.

Alice stood beside him, and right behind her, was a young girl. Looking scared and anxious.

"Who are you?" Rose snapped, looking towards the girl with a hostile gaze.

"She is a friend. She isn't a threat." Alice said lightly moving away, to reveal the girl. "This is Jada."

I took a good look at the girl. She was beautiful, her skin was a soft caramel and her hair hung down in a flawless braid down her back. Her eyes were a mixture of red and dark orange.

She shyly backed away, hiding herself behind Alice once again. She looked terrified and incredibly sad.

"I don't know her, and I sure as hell don't trust her to be around Bella right now." Rose said folding her arms across her chest.

"She won't hurt anyone." Darius defended, nicely taking the girls hand and leading her towards the rest of us. "She just turned and could really use some support."

My heart warmed as I watched Darius with her. I had a good feeling about this girl. She did seem sweet and quiet.

"She won't be in complete control over her bloodlust. Not yet. She isn't safe." Edward spoke up, giving me a serious look.

I gave his hand a squeeze, before I went ahead and began towards Jada and Darius.

"Bella, no." Rose said taking hold of my hand. "Please don't put yourself into unnessary danger."

I sighed, taking my hand away. "It's ok Rose, I trust her. Let her have a chance." I said, continuing towards my son.

Once we were just a foot from each other, Jada tensed, inhaling slowly. "Uhm, it's an honor, to meet you." She spoke with a thick jamacian accent.

Edward stayed close to my side; watching Jada's every move. He seemed just as tense as she was.

I held my hand out. "It's a pleasure to meet you two, Jada." I gave her a wide smile.

She smiled in response and took my hand to shake; but the second she took there was a crunch and splitting pain that ran down my wrist.

I winced, letting my hand drop. "Ouch,"

Edward quickly backed me away; a growl rolling off his lips. Rose acted as well, running forward to take a hold of Jada's neck.

Jada squeaked, looking scared and genuninely appologetic. "I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt her."

"Rose!" Darius said with a frown. "Let her go right now. She would never try to hurt my mom."

Edward looked at my hand, holding me close with anger in his eyes. "It looks like she broke a finger."

My hand was already starting to swell up and my pointer finger seemed to be stuck in an unatural position. I ignored the pain, and moved towards Jada.

"It's ok, I'm perfectly fine. Leave her alone Rose,"

Rose reluctantly let her go and came over to inspect my hand as well. "Thankfully Carlisle will be here soon. He should know what to do for that."

Jada fell to her knees, her body trembling and her face twisted, as if she was sobbing. But there wasn't tears.

"I'm so sorry miss Swan." She said looking up to me. "Please forgive me. I forgot for a moment that I was much stronger than I use to be."

"It's ok, really." I reasured her.

Darius helped her back up to her feet, giving her a tiny smile. "She will be staying with Alice for now. We didn't want to leave her alone."

Rose threw a glare at Alice. "Where did you find this newborn?"

Alice glanced at Edward for a moment, before turning her attention to Rosalie. "I accidentally turned her. It was completely my fault."

Alice's statement confused me. I looked closely towards Alice, and it was clear that her eyes were still a light topaz. She had no signs of losing control and drinking human blood.

"Alice, what the hell?" Rose said looking shocked. "That's not like you at all."

"Mistakes happen." Alice shrugged. "She is my responsibility now. So you just mind your business."

Rose looked offended. "Excuse me? Anything that puts Bella and Darius in danger, is my business."

Tristian gently pulled Rose to his side, resting his hand on her hip. He leaned in to whisper into her ear. I couldn't hear what he said, but it seemed to calm her down.

"How old is she?" Rose spoke up; her tone much lighter.

"I'm sixteen," She responded, glancing at Darius.

Jada and Darius standing together, in this moment... Darius almost looked close to her age. He seemed to have grown even more since he has been away from home. He could pass as a fourteen or even fifteen year old boy now.

The sight of him was heart breaking.

"Anyway, come along Jada, let's head back home; I think you could use some more time hunting." Alice said with a bright grin in her direction.

Jada nodded, heading back to where Alice stood. She bowed her head to us once, before following Alice into the woods.

Darius went to me quickly, giving me a hug. "Do you think she will be ok?"

"She will be just fine, she's with Alice." Rose said, giving Darius a grin. "You don't have to feel bad."

"I don't... I don't feel bad at all. I just, wish that I could have been more help to her." Darius said quickly, tumbling over his words.

I glanced at him curiously.

What was making him act so anxious? There was something about this whole situation that was off. A lot of things didn't make sense.

But before I could question my son, Carlisle appeared, an anxious look on his face as he looked towards me.

"Edward, Bella, it's good to see you again. Let's... began the examination. I think the bedroom would probably be the best option."

Darius sighed, looking at Carlisle. "Are you here to document how much I've grown again?"

Carlisle paused, looking Darius over from head to toe. "You have grown a great deal since I've seen you last." He now frowned as concern filled his eyes. "However, I'm actually here to see your mother."

Darius whipped his head around to look at me. "Mom, what is he talking about? Is something wrong with you?" He sounded anxious.

"No, no... nothing serious. I've just been feeling under the weather..." I said gently stroking the top of his head. "Nothing to worry about."

Darius turned to look at Edward. "Is she telling the truth?"

Edward raised a brow and surprised both Darius and myself, when he put a hand on Darius' shoulder. "We will talk about everything... after Carlisle sees her."
Darius' eyes began to water, a glare coming to his face."I have the right, to know the truth."

"Of course you do, but we don't have any answers for you yet. Ok, calm down Darius." Rose said gently.

"If you all would kindly wait down here, while Bella and I head upstairs." Carlisle said gesturing for everyone to head inside the cabin.

Everyone did as Carlisle asked and piled into our tiny living room. Darius sat in between Rose and Tristian; his arms folded across his chest.

Edward remained outside, leaning against the wall.

I was worried about him... and Darius. I worried that the two most important people in my life was about to get this news... and instead of being happy and excited... they would be upset.

It was terrifying. But I had to know. I needed to know. Rose was right, this was important. It would change everything. Just like when Darius was born.

He changed my entire world and I'd never give that up. I'd never wish to go back in time and stop it from happening.

The walk up to the bed room was quiet. Carlisle appeared to have a lot on his mind. But I was to nervous to talk with him about it.

My hands shook slightly as I took a seat on the edge of the bed.

"Ok Bella, I just have a few questions for you. And after that, I'll have you take this test." Carlisle said, handing me a store bought pregnancy test. "I'm sorry, this is all I can do for you right now... I'd be able to do more if we were in a hospital setting."

"That's alright, I understand." I nodded with a tiny smile.

"Wonderful," He said with a small smile of his own.

Carlisle asked me a bunch of basic questions. He wrote down my responses and after he was finished he instructed me to take the pregnancy test.

My heart was thudding heavily in my chest as I walked across the hall and into the bathroom with the test. I had never taken a home pregnancy test. The last time I was pregnant... Carlisle gave me a blood test.

I read through the instructions inside the test box. It was pretty straight forward. I just had to pee on this and wait for the result to appear in the control window. It was a digital test; which took out all the guess work. But the box came with two tests, the other test was the simple line test.

I decided that it would be best to take the both.

Before taking the tests, I paused to look at myself in the mirror. Which was somethng that I didn't do often. But I needed to stop and calm myself down. I was shaking so much that I knew I wouldn't be abe to hold onto those tests.

Calm down Bella. Calm down. Breathe. No matter what happens... you have people to support you. Edward and Darius will eventually come around to the idea... And if it turns out that I'm not pregnant... well that's fine to. I have all the time in the world to have one in the future. When the timing was right.

Ok, no more stalling. Let's do this.

My inner pep talk must have done the trick, because my trembling had stopped. I unwrapped the tests and made my way to the toilet.

There was a light knock on the door, making me stop.

"Yes?" I called out.

"Bella, it's me, may I come in?" It was Edward.

"Of course." I said, feeling my heart spring.

He entered slowly and closed the door behind him. "I wanted to be here... for you. No matter what the result of this test is."

I went to him, instantly feeling tears slid down my cheeks. We embraced for a moment. And I felt even better now. Now that he was here by my side.

"You aren't... mad?"

"Why would I be?" He asked, brushing my tears away. "To be completely honest... this is the most... exciting thing I've ever expierenced... I'm just having a hard time enjoying the moment... because I'm so scared Bella. I'm afraid of losing you."

"Don't be scared Edward. If this test is positive. This will change everything. We will make it through this and I'll be ok." I smiled widely.

He returned the smile, kissng me earnestly. "I don't think I can wait any longer my love." He said quietly.

I nodded, turning back to the toilet. "Ok, let's find out then."

With Edward here I felt so much better. I sat down and started the process of finding out the truth. It stayed quiet in the bathroom now as Edward and I waited. It was the longest five minutes of my life as I watched the digital test.

I had decided that I wasn't going to use the line test. It was pointless. The digital would be enough. Maybe we could use the line test in the future... if this test ended up being negative.

But finally the test revealed the answer that Edward and I both where waiting impatiently for.
