Ayana found herself sitting under a pile of old photos in the middle of the hall. With Tezuka in Germany and Kagome away at camp, she was finding the house to be far lonelier than she was used to. Her husband was at work, and she had the day off, as did Yukimura. Her ever quickly healing patient. Since the house was empty, she'd taken it upon herself to do some deep cleaning. She had finished the kitchen and the living room. When she started going through the hall closet for anything she could throw out or donate, when she found an old box filled with photos. Photo's of Kagome and Kunimitsu when they were little. Keigo and Kagome as well.
She lifted one from the scattered pile around her. Kunimitsu was out in the front of the house, beating a tennis ball against the panels of the house. He'd been maybe seven in the photo.
"Kaa-San, it's embarrassing if you take photos when I'm still learning."
"Eh? But Mitsu-Kun is so adorable, Mama wants to capture all of his special moments on camera!"
Another picture in her hand showed her twins lying out cold on the floor in the living room, warm blankets twisted around them. They had wanted to stay awake on Christmas eve, as every child does at least once in their life. Kagome had been adamant about seeing Santa fit down their chimney, while Kunimitsu wanted to prove that Reindeer couldn't fly and that in all likely hood, Santa drove a spaceship.
"I'm not gonna sleep, not gonna!"
"Mama's going to tell Santa not to bring you presents if you don't sleep, Kagome."
"He can beam them down,"
"Beam? From the sleigh?"
"From his spaceship, reindeer can't fly, I'll show you!"
"No, no, no, Kuni-nii!"
She closed her eyes, thinking about them was bringing tears to her eyes. At five, they'd been two completely different kids. Close to one another, they played together and helped each other. When Kunimitsu was six, he got his first racket. Naturally, they signed him up for classes and even encouraged him to join the elementary tennis club at his school. Kagome had enjoyed watching him practice, but then, after a while, that's all he did. Ayana watched her daughter as she tried to find something that she too could distract herself with, but she only ever wanted her brother. So, they bought her a Tennis racket. Suddenly, the two had found their connection again. It wasn't that Kagome had wanted to play Tennis; she had just wanted to play with her brother. So, they had practiced together. Kunimitsu taught her the basics, and the two learning together from there.
She flipped through the photos, smiling at another one. Her daughter sitting in front of the tv watching a movie beside her first boyfriend. You better believe she snapped a photo! Looking at the tv in the photo, she recalled the movie clearly. They had caught it on the TV at the beginning once upon a time and Kagome had wanted to watch it. From there, they ended up buying it because Kagome liked it so much. She'd seen her daughter put it on numerous times since, singing along to the music, not even watching it as it played in the background while she did schoolwork or house chores. Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

"The English one is better,"
"You speak English, Kagome?"
"I'm learning, but I watched this in English first with Japanese subtitles."
"Oh, I can help you with English! I lived in England for years."
Every kid had their favorite movie, that was her daughters. At that time, Keigo and Kagome were both twelve, and Ayana had been almost instantly charmed by the young prince her daughter had brought home to her.
So many memories were gathered around her. She leaned back against the wall and sighed. In her other hand was a picture she hadn't seen in years. It was of her at the hospital, and in her left arm, her baby boy, in her right arm, her baby girl. Her life...it had started that day. The day her kids were born. Everything up till that point had been, filler. Filling her time with studying, filling her time with reading and hanging out with friends. Filling her life with school and work. It wasn't until her kids were born, that she stopped filling and finally felt fulfilled. Her life was made whole. She had her husband, and two beautiful babies to love and forever care for, what else could she have possibly wanted or needed? To her, nothing else was necessary but this family she had. Yet here she was, no family in sight.
"Kagome, Mitsu...mama misses you, so come home now." The sound of a door opening had her perking up and looking down the hall.
"Ayana?"
She heard her name called and peered around the corner, "Kuniharu," she cried out pathetically. Her husband sighed as he shut the door behind him and placed his bag down by the door. Slipping his shoes off, he walked around the corner and stopped at the mess surrounding his wife. "Kuniharu...I want my babies back,"
"Kunimitsu will return once his treatment is finished, and Kagome's at camp."
"I'm lonely,"
He smiled at that, "can't I help alleviate some of your loneliness?" He held his hand out to her and smirked when she finally took his hand. "Where's dad?"
"...fishing."
"When was the last time you and I were left home alone like this?" He pulled her into his arms and felt her relax in his warmth. "Let's make it count, Ayana,"
Blushing, she looked up with a new burning determination as she smiled and led him from the hall to their room. The photos would be there when she was done with her husband, for now...well, she had a duty as a wife and a duty to herself!

"Sleeping Beauty has decided to join us," Hanamura chuckled, "I loved the show last night, by the way."
"Did everyone see that?"
"I think so," Wakato scoffed, "I can't believe it was him the whole time, and you just let me make a fool of myself."
Kagome smiled at the cap wearing orange haired player, "I don't think he cares about that. Wakato-San could be a good friend, but nothing more than that. I didn't want to invite rumors, so I wasn't saying anything. Those who knew, knew, and those who didn't, didn't. I wasn't about to broadcast my relationship. Are you mad?"
He shrugged, "I just hate that it's him."
"Ah, Tezuka-Chan!"
Kagome glanced back over her shoulder, smiling as she saw Oishi running over to her. "Oishi-San, ohayo!"
"Excuse me for interrupting your practice, Hanamura-Sensei. Can I borrow Tezuka-Chan for a few seconds?"
"...hai."
Walking away from the group, Kagome paused at a distance and turned her attention to Oishi, "did you find out who pushed Akaya-Kun down the stairs."
He sighed, "it's complicated, and I still don't know what happened. However, it was Tachibana-San's little sister. Ann-San."
Her eyes widened as she heard the name. 'The little sister did it?'
"If you look off to the distance, you can see Ryoma and Kirihara-San." He pointed.
True to his words, there they were. A match about to be underway.
Keigo walked over to her, "it's going to be you and Kabaji against Wakato and myself. You good to play?"
Her eyes lingered on the court with Akaya and Ryoma. "I hope everything ends well; I trust Akaya-Kun to tell me if he's having a problem." She smiled, "for now, I will let them settle things as a group."
"Wah!? My Queen, that's such a wise choice! Ore-Sama is thoroughly impressed!" He leaned in and placed a kiss on her cheek before she could stop him. Oishi blushed and looked left and right, worried that someone else might have seen. To his horror, her whole group was watching.
"Baka!" Kagome jumped back and ran to Kabaji's side. "Baka, Baka! I'll make you eat the court, Keigo!"
"We'll see about that, though this is an odd match up." He looked at Wakato before his eyes turned to Kabaji, smirking, he shook his head and sighed, "oh well, I suppose Ore-Sama can humor his group."

KNOCK!-KNOCK!-KNOCK!
Ayana yawned and stretched as she pulled her robe on tightly around her. She walked out of her room and passed by the photos on the floor. Her eyes peering through the peephole of her door, she opened it and looked to see a package lying on the ground at her feet. "What's this?" She picked it up, closing the door behind her as she walked back inside. "It's for Kagome, from the Kanto Regional Tennis Association." She opened the package and eyed a VHS, "Tezuka, Kunimitsu vs. Atobe, Keigo. OH! Oh, Kuniharu! Let's watch Mitsu play against Keigo!" She ran back to her room, her husband sitting up against the wall of their room on their futon. He had his laptop in his lap and the sheet twisted around his lower half. "Watch it with me!"
"Hm? Kunimitsu against Keigo?"
"Hai!" He sighed, "alright, let me get dressed. Oh, that gives you time to collect all those photos up off the ground."
Ayana was out of the room before he finished talking. Shaking his head, he chuckled at his luck. Marrying his first true love, she really hadn't changed at all from back then.
