Merry Christmas everyone! I hope all of you enjoy the new updates!
Chapter 32
Naraku looked at the fool in front of him, then glanced back down at the papers on his desk. He knew what the wolf wanted. Kouga expected to come in and used Naraku, but the male had another thing coming. No one used Naraku. He drove this into the wolf by making him wait. Two other demons stood behind Kouga, looking uncomfortable to be there.
Kouga was dangerously close to losing those that were loyal to them. Naraku could see the signs, and he knew this was a male that had become so fixated that he lost sight of the prize. He could not think clearly when it came to Kagome.
Kagome.
Fury bubbled in Naraku as he thought of all the males that wanted her. Touga, Kouga, and Naraku. Far too many for Naraku's liking, He had been chasing after the woman for some time now, and he was the only one that would be getting her in the end. She could play house with Touga all she wanted, but in the end, he would be the one that got her,
Finally, Naraku set down his pen after signing the document. It was another plan of his to try and reach Kagome. Her number had changed, so he had no way to call her, but he knew where the dog lived. Currently, the shrine was in Naraku's possession. Soon he would gift Kagome's old home to her, and that would be the first step to getting his woman back.
In the meantime, he would use Kouga to drive a wedge between Kagome and Touga.
Naraku's plans were coming together as they should. He could already taste the victory of having Kagome be his. His mate, and the mother of any children he decided to have. It would be perfect, and worth all the trouble he had put into it so far.
"You desire Kagome?" Naraku folded his hands together, leaning back in his chair. Kouga thought he was going to use Naraku. Naraku was going to let the wolf think that for now. It would work with the plans the spider demon had.
"Yep. And I know you want her too." Kouga leaned forward, flicking a pencil on Naraku's desk. "But you can't have her. She has been mine for years, and I'll get her back." Kouga smirked, taking in the gaze of the demon across from him. He could tell Ginta and Hakkaku weren't comfortable being there. They felt this was underhanded, but Kouga was desperate. He needed to get Kagome back to his side, and nothing else he did worked.
Naraku remained silent for a moment and then nodded his head. If anyone knew how to play games, it would be him. "I guess you're right. I also think you would be better suited for her; you have an entire pack while I am just here by my lonesome." Naraku smiled sweetly, pinching at his chin before letting his hand fall to his lap. "Is that the only reason you are here?"
"No." Kouga couldn't keep the grin off of his face. He had Naraku exactly where he wanted him. "You have connections that I don't. I want them. Currently, Kagome is shacking up with the dog, and I need that to stop. What can you do for me?"
"Well, my connections aren't that suitable for what you are asking. You want Kagome away from Lord Taisho. My people cannot touch him." Naraku paused as Kouga growled. He hid the smile he felt at leading the wolf along so well. "However, I think I have a way you could split them apart. If you succeed, she wouldn't even be aloud near Touga, let alone live in his house."
"What's this plan?" they both carried matching wicked grins that would have sent shivers down anyone's spine. No matter who was using who, the two together didn't spell out anything good.
…
Touga kneeled above Kagome, his body looming over hers. He had already showered and dressed, and she still slumbered away in their bed. Nuzzling into her neck, he smiled tenderly as he tried to wake her. She stirred under him, turning over to her back and presenting him with a full view of her chest.
She had been sleeping in their shared bed for a week now, and still, he hadn't gotten used to seeing the goddess that he loved sprawled out in sleep. She was beautiful and mesmerizing. He could stare at her all day. And never grow tired of it. He loved her, and he knew that wouldn't change any time soon. It never would.
"Kagome, you must wake." She groaned, trying to swat him away. Chuckling, he moved from above her, sitting next to her. It didn't take long for him to realize just how hard of a sleeper she was. He didn't mind it though; he found her antics cute. Even her little snores pulled a smile from him, though if you asked Kagome, she didn't snore at all.
"I have a surprise for you." His fingers dug into her sides, and she jolted awake with a shriek of laughter. He kept up the torment of tickling her, making sure she wouldn't go back to sleep the moment he stopped. When he pulled his hands away, she was glaring at him, and he was grinning from ear to ear.
"Was that necessary?" She sat up in bed, covering her chest with an arm when she realized he was staring. Blinking, he looked back up to her face, disappointed that the view was gone. He was enjoying that.
"Indeed. I tried to wake you normally, but you wouldn't budge." Leaning forward, he placed a kiss to her still pouting lips and then stood. "I have something planned for us. That means you need to get up and get dressed. Time is dwindling, Kagome." He left chuckling as she bristled in the bed.
She was grumpy most mornings, but as soon as she showered and refreshed herself, she would be fine. He knew she would enjoy what he had planned, and it filled him with excitement to see her face light up. It was going to be a very good day.
An hour later had Touga parking his car in the overfilled parking lot. He paid extra for the Vip parking so they could settle the car closer to the entrance. Kagome could see exactly where they were, and she was already bouncing in her seat. Much like InuYasha and Souta were. For a moment, Touga thought he had three kids.
"I've never been!" Kagome nearly had her face pressed to the glass as she looked at the busy fair. She could see the rides and hear the screams of terrified fun. She was more than excited, and for once, she didn't think of the money it was going to cost by being there.
"You haven't?" Touga handed two wrist bands to Souta, motioning for him to put one on InuYasha. When the boys were handled, he wrapped the other band around Kagome's wrist. He wasn't even sure she noticed.
"No. We could never afford it. The shrine did well, but we didn't make enough for this." Kagome turned to Touga, her face glowing with her excitement. He couldn't help himself and leaned forward to place a kiss on her lips.
"Well, I have more of a surprise for you inside." Hooking a finger under the wristband, he looked down at it, and then back at her. "This allows you free entry and food. You have VIP, meaning you get to cut in line for any of the rides and games. No wait time."
She frowned for a moment, her hand moving to cover the band. "I would feel bad cutting in front of people. Especially little kids. I don't mind waiting." That smile returned, and she lifted it in his direction. "I'll enjoy this, wait or not. Thank you, Touga."
"Hmm. Anything for you, love." He kissed her once more and then narrowed as eyes as his seat jerked forward from a kick. He turned to look towards a smirking Souta. InuYasha stood beside him, looking out the back window. Souta had already let InuYasha out of the car seat.
"Can you two make out later, I want to go to the fair." Souta's eyes widened as Touga growled. For a moment he thought he was in trouble until Touga turned to look at him more, an arrogant air around him.
"Bumper cars, boy. I challenge you." Touga ran a hand through his top knot, the silky strands of his hair flowing between his fingers. "I am the undefeated champion. Each year, Sesshomaru and I try to destroy each other. I assume you are old enough to join. Then again, if you are scared of losing-"
"I'm not scared, old man!" Souta opened the door, jumping out of the car and ducking his head back in. "Bring it on before your ancient back gives out."
Kagome laughed at Touga's face. He hadn't expected to be called old, and it showed. Mumbling about not being old, he got out of the car, scowling when Kagome didn't let him open her door for her. Her independent streak was showing again. Hopefully, she would at least let him when her a stuffed animal.
Grabbing InuYahsa and setting him on his shoulders, Touga began to lead his family to the gates. They passed through quickly thanks to the bands and headed to a predetermined location. The moment they arrived, Kagome let out a squeal and ran to the others. Sesshomaru and Rin, and Miroku and Sango had also been invited. The girls let out a squeal, none of them having been here before.
"Thank you, Touga, for allowing us to accompany you." Miroku bowed slightly to the older male. The demon had paid the way for everyone, all so Kagome could enjoy a day with the ones she loved. He would do anything for that woman, and he wasn't scared to admit it.
The entire group managed to stuff as much fun into the time they had as possible. They ate first, filling up on fair food. Miroku ate far too much and could barely move. He was a glutton for food, much like little InuYasha. Watching those two struggle to breathe after eating so much was as amusing as the clowns and mimes that walked around throughout the fair.
Afterward, they rode some rides. They started with the bigger rides since that was closest. Miroku only made it through one before he was expelling the lunch he had just eaten less than an hour before. Sango rubbed his back, but she couldn't help but tease her husband about his weak stomach.
The bumper cars were unlike anything anyone had seen. Touga and Sesshomaru managed to squeeze themselves into the cars, and they tried to kill each other. Souta had no problems keeping up and nearly sent Touga into the wall before Sesshomaru got him at the last second. It was the happiest Kagome had ever seen Souta and Sesshomaru. Of course, Sesshomaru was happy. He got a chance to try and destroy his father. Souta was just glad to be able to join them. After a while, the others left the ring, not wanting to get in the way of the three terrifying boys.
Touga, of course, won.
Sesshomaru and Souta pouted.
The rest of their evening was filled with kiddy rides and games. Touga won Kagome a bear that was larger than she was, and both Rin and Sango made their men play game after game until they got the same bear. They weren't even sure the stuffed animals would fit into the car.
Afterward, everyone piled up at a family restaurant, and the enjoyed their time there two. InuYasha fell asleep with his head in the plate, and Kagome ended up holding him so he could sleep in a more comfortable position. When they were back in the car, Souta passed out. Touga learned the boy snored just like his sister.
Overall the day was a success, and Kagome made sure to thank Touga in a way that he would never complain about. His last thought before sleep claimed him was that he would have to plan family outing like that more often.
