Bella's Point of View

Pregnant. The word was in small bold letters on the digital test. There was no disputing it. But I still couldn't believe this was happening. I just stood there, frozen. I couldn't move a muscle, even as Edward moved to my side. I heard him gasp quietly before I felt his arms come around me.

"Bella, I can't believe it." His tone sounded thrilled, but at the same time there was an edge of panic I could detect.

There where tears streaming down my face as I smiled up at him. "It's... more overwhelming than I thought it would be... to finally have my answer."

Edward nodded in agreement, looking fondly down towards my stomach. His hand carefully ran down the length of my body until it rested over my belly. Determination filled his eyes now.

"We can do this." He spoke quietly, brushing my tears away. "I have faith in your strength."

"If we are going to get through this in one piece, we are going to need all the strength in the world. I'm just grateful that I won't be doing this alone."

"I'll be by your side, forever." Edward promised, leaning in to give me a tender kiss. "Shall we break the news to the others? Even though I'm certain they can hear everything."

"No, not yet. Not with Darius here. I don't think I'm ready to tell him just yet. I'd rather wait for a little bit and tell him when I tell my parents."

Edward nodded with a thoughtful look on his face. "If that's what you want. Anything you want to do, is perfectly fine with me. I'm just... really happy."

Edward and I would have a family of our own now. It was crazy. Totally crazy. Our relationship was getting more serious by the day. It wasn't long before we decided to live together. And now, I was pregnant with Edward's child.

Although, a thought occured to me.

It was only last week, that I was completely intimate with Demetri. Could this baby possibly be his as well? No, I don't think so. I was taking birth control at the time. Sure, there was a slight chance that the pill didn't prevent me from getting pregnant with him. But it just seemed much more likely that it was Edward who impregnated me.

My symptoms didn't start until after we had sex. And with this being another vampire pregnancy, it would progress at an abnormal speed.

I just had to get the thought out of my mind. I didn't want to disappoint Edward. I wanted this to be his child. More than anything in the world. Our family would be complete.

But, I still had to talk with Edward about the possibility. Maybe there would be a way to tell. Some kind of test Carlisle could do.

"You know... I really hope... that this baby is yours. I know that it's a slight chance that it isn't. But, if it means anything. I hope it's yours." I whispered quietly to him.

Edward's smile widened. "There isn't a doubt in my mind, that this child is my own." He replied with a look of pride in his eyes. "I can... smell it."

I looked at him oddly. "What do you mean?"

"I didn't want to mention this earlier, but... since you've been experiencing these symptoms, I've kept smelling this very familiar scent attached to you. My scent is all over you, inside you. Now, stronger than ever."

My face warmed at his words. "I really hope you're right."

Edward and I talked in the bathroom for a while, until there was a hard knock on the door.

"Mom, I want to know what's going on. Can you please come out and tell me what's happening to you?" Darius called from the other side of the door.

I nervously went to the door. "I'm coming," I said gathering up some courage. I wasn't used to keeping things from my son. I took no joy in doing this. But it just wasn't the right time. I wasn't ready to face his reaction. Not now that he as finally come home to me.

As I opened the door, Darius made a face; seeing Edward with me.

"Did you need help using the bathroom or what?" Darius grumbled, raising a suspicious brow in my direction. "Tell me what's going on mom."

I quickly patted the top of his head. "It's nothing, turns out I'm completely fine. I'm not sick." It wasn't a complete lie. I wasn't sick, I had orginally thought that I had food posioning or stomach flu. But now I knew I was pregnant, with my second child.

Darius searched my expression for a while, before shrugging his shoulders. "Well I'm glad that you are ok." He offered me a calm smile.

"Are you hungry? Can I get you something to eat?" I asked, changing the topic. The less we talked about this, the more likely he wouldn't ask any further questions. I didn't want to have to lie to him any more than necessary.

"Nah, I just wanted to check on you and make sure you are alright. I'm just going to take it easy today. Maybe play some video games or something." He said with a grin. "Emmett is stopping over to teach me how to play some game he just bought."

"That sounds like fun." I said, going over to give him a tight hug.

He nudged me off him with a look of embarrassment. "Cut it out mom, I'm not a baby." He whined, glancing at Edward just for a second, before making his way out of the bathroom.

I guess he found his room. Edward and I had worked on it for the past few days. I wanted it to look a lot like his old room at home, just with some newer things; like a gaming console, a computer... things that an older child would like to have. I hadn't planned on getting him so many electronics, but Edward insisted.

Edward and I walked hand in hand, back to the living room downstairs. Rose and Tristian where both there, sitting in silence. Rose sat comfortably in Tristian's lap. They appeared to be in their own little world in the moment, they barely noticed Edward and I enter.

"Congrats you two," Tristian said with a content smile.

Rose slid from his lap and came over to wrap me up into a gentle hug. "I'm so happy for you. If you need anything... anything at all; tell me and I'll be there."

I laughed, hugging her close. "I will... thank you guys. It means a lot." I watched between the two of them with curiosity. "Would you like to stick around and chat?"

Rose's expression faltered for a moment, but she appeared to force a smile on her face. "I would have loved nothing more to stick around... But Emmett is on his way here right now. And the last thing I want is anywhere near him."

"I completely understand."

That's exactly how I would feel if Demetri was on his way over here.

"I'll see you around Bella," Tristian waved to me as he and Rosalie walked towards the front door. "We'll most likely be back for when Carlisle holds our battle meeting."

I looked to Edward curiously, but Rose already was ready to explain. "Carlisle will have all of us here together at the end of the month."

"Oh, I had no idea." I said chewing my lip.

I wonder how far along I will be by then. How much will this baby grow inside of me in a month? I know with Darius, after carrying him for a month... I looked closer to three months pregnant.

Tristian and Rose said their goodbyes and made their way out of the house; nearly disappearing instantly.

I decided now would be a good time to just sit back and try to relax a little bit. There was a lot on my mind. To say the very least. Edward sat down beside me; a content look on his face.

"Can I get you anything?" He wondered, kissing my cheek.

"No," I said letting my head rest on his shoulder. "I have everything I need right here."

It was peaceful for a while, until Emmett made his grand entrance. He danced through the door; appearing to be floating. A wide grin was across his face as he looked between Edward and I.

"Congrats on the new addition." He said lowly in our ears. "You guys don't waste any time do you?"

I blushed, hiding my face in Edward's shoulder.

"Emmett," Edward sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "We aren't quite ready for everyone to know about it, so... don't breathe a word about this to Darius."

Emmett gave us a sly look and a wink. "Your secret is safe with me." With that, he made his way up to Darius.

I peaked up at Edward with a tiny smile. "He seems to be in a pretty good mood."

"He is... it appears that he may have gotten a ... delightful encounter with a certain Denali woman." Edward said rolling his eyes.

Shock twisted inside my stomach. "You mean one of those women that Carlisle had introduced me to? Tanya, Kate and Irene."

Edward nodded, gently stroking my face. "It's all he can think about."

"So... he is... dating one of them now?"

"No, it was nothing serious, it was more or less... a one time stand."

Now I was curious. "Which one..."

"Tanya," Edward said with a shrug. "Although, I'm sure she was interested in becoming serious with Emmett. He was only after one thing."

"I didn't think Emmett was that kind of man." I said raising a single brow. "He doesn't strike me as a man that uses women for their body and throws them away when he is finished."

"I'm not jumping to his defense, but I do know Emmett really well... and I can assure you that he made it clear of his intentons before they slept together." Edward said with a slight frown.

Maybe this was just how he is dealing with his relationship with Rose ending. I had no right to judge his choices. I've made a fair amount of undesireable descisions.

"I hope that one day... he will find someone that he wants to be with in a serious way. I'm sure he just might not be ready yet." I said with a hopeful smile.

"He was getting close... with Monica. I know that she had an awful personality, but she was good for him. She helped him deal with difficult emotions. When she was killed... I thought I was going to lose Emmett again."

"What do you mean lose him?"

"Emmett doesn't handle his emotions very well. Like his stregnth, his every feeling is so strong... so powerful that it can be debilitating. Jasper had kept him under control of himself, with his abilities. So when Jasper was killed, he went mad." Edward said with a serious look. "He was angry... out of control... and making everyone miserable. Including Rose. His moods kept pushing everyone away from him. He was beginning to lose control over his blood lust. He was dangerously close to returning to human blood."

It sounded like Demetri could have used something like that. Someone who could influence his moods. Maybe he would be able to be a half decent person. But even that I doubted. It would take an incredibly strong person to break through to Demetr. Not a young vampire, like Monica.

"Well, he seems to be doing ok now."

Edward nodded, but his eyes stayed serious. "But for long? I'm not sure he will be able to hold himself together much longer. He is already being a little spontaneous and reckless. Sleeping with Tanya, is proof of that."

"Is there anything we can do for him?"

"Afraid not. This is something Emmett is going to have to figure out for himself. We have enough to worry about. Don't you agree?" Edward wondered, lightly stroking my stomach.

I couldn't help the smile that came to my face; the brief contact made me feel warm and overjoyed. I was so glad Edward was happy with me being pregnant. He seemed to be just as excited as I was about all of this.

But in the next few weeks it's going to be hard to keep this a secret from Darius... and my parents. I knew that I was going to have to break the ice with them about Edward.

They had to at least know who he is... meet him officially. Before I tel them that they are about to become grandparents again. I wasn't to worried about Rene's reaction to it all. It was Charlie that I was nervous.

I should probably call them, set up a meeting with them and Edward. I didn't have a lot of time. If this pregnancy was going to move just as fast as my first one, I didn't have much time.

If we can just make it past this, the rest of the pregnancy should be smooth sailing. I hope.
