"Who's that?" Asked Kenshin who appeared out of the kitchen, startling Kaoru.

"Kenshin!" She exclaimed. "When did you came?" She asked, leaping to his side then snaked her arms around his waist.

"Ten to fifteen minutes ago? Yahiko let me in. He replied, sniffing Kaoru's hair. "Who's that again?"

"Ahhh, that's Mr. Takeru."

He pulled himself away. Kaoru looked up to see his protruding eyes. Kaoru laughs getting his sentiment.

"He's my ex-editor slash publisher," she explained.

"What was he doing here?"

"He's convincing me to write again." His expression softened. "But I said no. My writer's phase is over."

"What did he say? Did he just accept your decision? I mean, those publishers can really be pushy."

Kaoru giggles. "But there's nothing he can do about it neither I. My inspiration had already died out. You know, the heartache, the misery, the pain... They were all long gone and forgotten." She answered while snuggling back into his arms.

"Did you tell him?" He asked hugging her back.

"Tell him what?"

"That you're getting married this weekend."

"Yeah, I did. I told him that I decided to change my profession to something much more fun, being a wife... and in the future, a mother. I'm getting married this weekend by the way. Yeah, that's exactly what I told him." She said then looked at him. "Why? Do you want me to invite him?"

"Why not?" He shrugged.

"Kenshin?"

"Hm?"

"I missed you. A lot."

"I missed you, too."

"And..." She paused, take a step back and spread her arms wide open towards Kenshin. "Welcome home, Kenshin." She told him.

He smiled "I'm back that I am." He said, grabbing her arm and pulled her into an embrace.

"What? Is that all you got?" She asked, eyeing the large suitcase at the door.

"Nope, wait... I'll go and get it." He then left and came back a large box full of books and papers.

Kaoru checked what was exactly inside the box. "What's this? You bought a lot of my book?"

"Yeah, and I printed each and every episode of your blog, too. And of course, I read them all," he told her with a mischievous smile playing on his lips.

"Awww, you shouldn't have," she said giggling while slapping his shoulder once. And then she remembered everything she'd written on it. She suddenly felt hot and instantly covered her reddened face in embarrassment.

Kenshin laughs at her reaction. "Oh, I almost forgot..." He said while taking out a USB from his pocket.

"I asked one of Hiko's clients to turn my favorite episode of your blog into a song. You see, it's a recording company. The owner personally plots the music into it and made one of his artists sing it. And guess what, it turned out wonderfully.

Kaoru picked out the USB from his hand, insert it into her speaker and began listening.

My Heart Still Wishes For You

How could a perfect love go wrong

How could a love give up

When it's so strong

I never knew that someday I'll be losing

All my love

I always thought that day would never come

No matter where I look I see you

And when I close my eyes I feel you

Tell me how on earth will I learn to love you

Now that I know that you were no longer mine

Every night, every day

I think of you but I hope and pray

There'll be a time I won't be dreaming of you

But my heart still wishes for you

Every night, every day

I call on you but I hope and pray

There'll be a time I won't be (needing/waiting for) you

But my heart still wishes for you

How do I go against my second nature

How do I stop something that naturally flows

Can't just break up someday and stop loving you

But I've got to try to move on

But my heart still wishes for you

Wishes for you...

Kaoru began tearing up as the music subsides. "You're not joking, it sure is beautiful," she said while fighting back her tears. "It brings back the memory. I'm thankful that I'm through with that. You know, wishing you'd come back."

"Honestly, I completely understood each and every thought and feeling you told in each and every issue of your blog. I've gone through the same, and asked the same questions. I'm glad we're through with that, but I'm also thankful that we experienced that coz if not... I'll never learn my lesson. I'll never know the depths of your heart and soul... that you had your eyes on me, long before I looked at you properly... that you love me more than I could ever know... And that my heart will never cease to wish for you even when I already lose you."

Kaoru hugged him with all her might. "I love you," she whispered.

"I love you as much," he whispered back.

***the end***

Facts:

This my first fanfic. I love this story. But, it's damn far from perfect.

Every now and then, I reread and rewrite this to try to make it better.

I love Kenshin and Kaoru so much and will never get enough of them.

I will write another fanfic of them, again.

And that's for sure.
