Battle was chaos.
It went without saying, but in the beginning he had been surprised at how messy it was.
Weapons, spells, fluids, smells, sounds.
It took all his concentration to keep everyone's head in the game.
With her though, it was easy.
When Chie was with them, battle flowed with an uncanny grace.
Either through years of practice or just natural ability, Chie brought order to the chaos.
Soon he found she did the same for him.
In times when he was at his lowest, there she was in her grace, to pick him up and set him right.
