Chapter 36
As Ash and Elena walk back to where others are, Gloria says, "Elena? What are you doing here?"
Ash says, "I found her attacked by the two dragons, so I saved her and then we chatted a little."
"I see." Serena says as she notices the gem that she is holding..."Wait, is that?"
Elena looks at the gem and says, "Yeah, Ash gave it to me, so I guess that I am also in a harem."
"That is so cool." Alice says. "So does that mean we will be traveling together?"
Elena frowns and says, "I can't. I am the Gym Leader, I have some gym work to do."
"I see." Marnie sighs. "And I have never seen that Lucario from before."
"Oh, this is my Lucario, Koyuki. She is my first Pokemon and she acts like my bodyguard along with my Copperajah." Elena says with proud. Ash then sends out his Lucario and the two of them go chat together. Ash also gives Lillie and Drampa, and she is happy to have it.
"So I guess that all three of you already have 11 badges? Which means I am the next, right?" Elena asks.
"Yeah. But by the way, how is your father?" Lillie asks. "Ever since he has to force Bede out of the Challenge, is he sad about this?"
"Well, he seldom come out of lab of his in Hammerlocke City." Elena says. "I don't know what he is planning, all we know is that he wants to gather some Wishing Stars for the future of Galar. But I don't know why."
"I see." Ash says as they enjoy the camping for the night. After the next day, they go into the Bermingsteel, and it is a large place with a lot of factories.
Dawn asks, "So this is the place where all those brands in Galar come from?"
Elena shows her pride and says, "Indeed. You see, my dad owns the biggest company in the Galar Region, so I set my gym here in this place because of the business."
"That is really smart." Lillie says.
"Thanks, now we are at the stadium." They then see a stadium with the giant Steel Type Symbol on it. "I should get going if I want to face you."
"Sure, thanks a lot." Ash says as they enter the gym. And then the female staff says, "Welcome, gym challengers, are you ready to take part in the Gym in Bermingsteel?"
Gloria says, "As always."
"Good, here is the uniform, please change it and then come find me." After Gloria changes her outfit, Dawn says, "Wow, you look just like a robot."
"You're right." Gloria says. Then the staff gives her a purse. "Inside the purse are 5000 coins. It will be beneficial for the Gym Challenge. Now good luck."
Gloria nods as she goes into the Mission Field, but much to their shock is that the field is full of shops and stores. "Wait, is this really the Mission Field?" Gloria gasps.
"Indeed. Ms. Gloria." Dan walks towards her and says, "The Gym mission is this. Inside the stores are items that can be purchased. You have to pick four items and then use it on your Pokemon. But you won't have four items enough with your money there, so you have to battle the gym trainers on the field. Some Gym trainers will wage for the items, while some of them give you money. Now good luck." He turns around and says, "Let the Gym Mission begin!"
Gloria then goes into the store and he sees a Charcoal with 1000 coins, she says, "The first item is this, I will be using it on Cinderace." As she gets the item, then she starts to look around for more.
Alice says, "This gym mission is really cool, it is obviously letting you shop for items."
"Yeah." Ash says.
Then Gloria decides to battle a gym trainer for the Payapa Berry for her Throh, and she did get the berry in the end after defeating the Gym Trainer. Then she battles another trainer for the Full Restore since she can use it to heal the Pokemon. And the final one is the Iron Ball, much to their confusion. "Why is she spending 4000 coins on Iron Ball?" Serena asks.
"Maybe she has a plan." Ash says.
Now that it is done, she goes to the end and Dan checks the items. He nods and says, "Goal! Gym Mission Cleared!"
Gloria then steps to the battlefield and faces Elena, Elena says, "Let me introduce myself even though we already meet. I am Elena, I am the daughter of the Chairman Rose and the Gym Leader of Bermingsteel."
This causes cheer for them and Elena says, "So did you have fun shopping for 4 items? Since my dad is a business man, he has been letting me shopping for what I need all the time, but for me, it doesn't feel right if I am the only one shopping. So that is why I make this mission."
Gloria says, "I see, you want to let us know the enjoyment of shopping, right?"
"Of course. But now that you know, how about we begin our battle?" Elena says as she takes out the Pokeball. "Go, Escavalier!" As the bug Pokemon appears, Gloria says, "Cinderace, I choose you."
As the Pokemon appears, Ash notices that the Escavalier has a Rocky Helmet on it. "What is that item?" Dawn asks after noticing it.
"That is Rocky Helmet." Ash says, and then they see that Cinderace uses Double Kick on the Escavalier, only to be taken a lot of damage to the feet. "It will hurt you every time you land a Physical attack."
"Are you alright?" Gloria asks Cinderace, who nods back. "Good, now use Pyro Ball!"
As the ball hits Escavalier, it takes more damage, Elena says, "I see, you use Charcoal as your first item, right?"
"That's right, now Flamethrower!" "Protect." As Escavalier protects itself from the flames, she says, "Use Drill Run!"
The Drill quickly lands a hit on the Cinderace, causing it to fall down. "Are you alright?" Gloria asks as it nods. "Thank goodness. Now use Double Kick again!"
"Iron Defense!" Elena says as the Escavalier protects itself again, Cinderace looks like it will faint in any second. "Now finish that Cinderace with X Scissor!"
Gloria says, "Dodge it!" As Cinderace dodges the move, it suddenly goes burning and Ash says, "Blaze..."
"Now let's give our full power! Flare Blitz!" Elena gasps as she realizes that Gloria is waiting when the Blaze activate, plus the Charcoal boosting, Escavalier won't be able to survive the hit. And then both Pokemon faint after the attack.
Elena says, "That was such a risky move, but here is my second Pokemon. Bronzong!"
As the Pokemon appears, Gloria says, "Here goes nothing, Throh! I choose you!"
As the Pokemon appears, Ash sees that the Bronzong has a Choice Band. Elena says, "You do know that Bronzong is a Psychic Type as well, right?"
"So what? That won't scare me." Gloria says. "Let's start with Fire Punch!" "Use Zen Headbutt!"
As the two Pokemon clash at each other, then the Zen Headbutt overpowers Throh, but with the help of Payapa Berry, it doesn't take a lot of damage to it. "Zen Headbutt again!" Elena yells. "Use Protect!" Gloria says as Throh blocks the upcoming Zen Headbutt.
"Use Superpower!" Gloria yells. "Dodge it!" After missing the Superpower, Bronzong then defeats the Pokemon with another Zen Headbutt.
Gloria recalls her Pokemon and says, "Just like I predicted. Go, Liepard!"
Elena gulps as the cat Pokemon appears, and all Bronzong can do is dodge the attack. Serena asks, "What's wrong? Bronzong is able to defeat Throh, but why can't she fight back?"
"Simple." Ash replies. "The Choice Band raises the Attack Stat of a Pokemon, but it locks the Pokemon into one move. And that move is Zen Headbutt, so Bronzong can only use Zen Headbutt in this battle."
Alice says, "So she can't use other moves, and Liepard is a Dark Type, it won't be affected." "Correct."
And then Bronzong is tired and it is defeated by Shadow Claw. Elena sighs, "To be honest, I never knew it will happen, but it makes battle more amazing."
"I know." Gloria says.
Elena's third Pokemon is Perrserker, and a female one with a ribbon on its head. As Ash's sees the Pokemon, his eyes become hearts and he says, "I am in love..."
Ash sighs at the Pokemon and he says, "It is a good thing I didn't battle that."
Perrserker uses Fury Swipes first, giving a lot of damage to Liepard. Liepard uses Night Slash, but Perrserker dodges it and then use Iron Head. Gloria notices that the Liepard is almost fainted, she says, "My third Item is Full Restore, I'll restore Liepard."
This causes the battle to stop for 10 seconds. As everyone is focusing on Gloria, Ash sees that Elena takes out an item and puts it into a Pokeball.
Now that the Liepard is healed, it is a matter of time that it uses Shadow Claw to finish Perrserker. Ash's is crying and he says, "No! How can she lost..."
Pikachu is sweating as he comforts the cat. Elena says, "So your third item is Full Restore, but I will like to thank you for that 10 seconds, so I could use my third item as well."
Gloria is confused, "What do you mean?"
"What I mean is this, come back, Escavalier!" As Escavalier comes back, Gloria is shocked. "You use Revive?"
"Yep." Elena says as Escavalier uses X Scissors on Liepard.
Serena says, "Revive? What is that item?"
"It is an item that restores a fainted Pokemon to the half of the health." Ash says. "In this gym battle, we may be able to use it, but in other competitions, it is a cheating item."
"I see. I can see why." Alice says.
And in the end, Liepard and Escavalier both fainted after Liepard gets hit by the Rocky Helmet while using Snarl to defeat Escavalier. Elena says, "So I am down to last Pokemon, then let the heavy metal be your stop, Copperajah!"
As the Pokemon appears, It roars loudly. Gloria's final Pokemon is Excadrill. Elena says, "I'll show you a move that'll hit so hard, you'll be speechless!" She then recalls her Pokemon as it begins the Gigantamax, and after it comes out, it is a giant elephant with a big trunk. Gloria also does the same as she Dynamax.
"All right, then... Hopefully, this move will turn things around for me. G-Max Steelsurge!" After the move hits Excadrill, it makes the field spiky. Gloria says, "This is bad...Excadrill's movements is slow..."
Elena says, "My final item I got is a Steel Gem, so after that boosting, it is gone... But it is fine. Use Max Quake!"
Gloria says, "You do the same too!" After that attacks, they all get damaged, but Gloria is surprised that both Pokemon are still on the field after getting back to normal size. "Time to end this up, Fling!"
Elena widens her eyes as she sees the final item Gloria has, the Iron Ball, and it knocks out the Cooperajah.
Elena recalls her Pokemon and says, "That sure was satisfying. I didn't think that you will buy something as Iron Ball for the move. But then again, you are smart to do this. Here is your badge."
They shake hands and Gloria gets the badge, Marnie also purchases some dark type items and also defeats Elena, as well as getting the badge. Now it is Ash's turn. He also purchases 4 items and go towards the battlefield.
Elena says, "Well, I have been waiting for you, Ash. After hearing you defeat the first 11 gyms, I have been waiting for this moment."
Ash says, "Really?"
"Yeah, I want to test out how strong you really are, I even have my secret weapon ready." Elena says.
"I will like to see your secret weapon, but now let's begin our battle." Ash says.
Elena's first Pokemon is Ferrothorn, Ash sends out his Turtonator to battle. Ferrothorn has the Focus Sash, while Turtonator is given the X Special Defense.
"I see, you have been well prepared." Elena says as she calls for the Power Whip, but the Shell Trap manages to deal some damage, and Ferrothorn has the ability Iron Barbs, it also hurts Turtonator a lot. After a series of battle, Ash says, "Time to finish this, Flamethrower!"
But much to his surprise, Ferrothorn is still moving, Elena says, "I have a Focus Sash, after all."
Ash sighs as Ferrothorn delivers the final attack with Gyro Ball, causing both Pokemon to faint in the end. So Elena sends out Klinklang while Ash sends out Runerigus. Runerigus has the Life Orb and Klinklang has the Air Balloon.
"Air Balloon, that won't stop me." Ash says, "Use Shadow Ball! Aim at the balloon!"
As the Balloon pops, Elena says, "Very clever, you found my balloon. But don't think that it will let me hit by Ground moves. Use Magnet Rise!"
As Klinklang rises into the air, Ash groans, "Damn it... The Air Balloon is just a decoy..." Then he uses Brutal Swing, and Klinklang dodges all the time.
"By seeing that your Pokemon's health is lowering, I see that you use Life Orb."
"Yeah, it can also boost the attack. Runerigus, use Shadow Claw!" And the attack finally hits Klinklang. Klinklang uses Gear Grind and it then eventually defeats the Pokemon, but Klinklang is defeated by the Destiny Bond.
"This is really surprising. Two draws in a battle." Elena says.
"Yeah. But it should be more." Ash sighs as both send out Lucario, much to the Lucario's surprise, since they already have feelings and they didn't want to battle against each other.
Ash says, "Lucario, don't worry, it is just a gym battle, treat it like a training."
Elena says, "You too, Koyuki."
The two Lucario nods as they battle together, they are giving all out with their aura powers, and in the end, they both are knocked out at the same time. Ash and Elena is speechless.
"They have really become a couple...don't you think?" Ash asks.
"Yeah." Elena says. "Their movements, their holding items are also Black Belt, their time to faint are the same...I wonder that something is playing pranks on us."
After recalling their Pokemon, Elena says, "Now time to show my final Pokemon, in fact, it is a Pokemon that most people haven't seen it before until Professor Oak shows it. Melmetal!"
As the Pokemon appears, Ash widens his eyes. "You have a Melmetal as well?"
Lillie says, "How did she have that?"
Dawn asks, "You know that Pokemon?"

"I see." Elena says. After exchanging attacks, they are both back to normal size, but they both use Full Restore this time as the battle continues. In the end, Charizard still wins after the Overheat.
"You know, after the battle, I feel like I have grown a lot." Elena says after she loses. "Thank you for this wonderful battle."
"No problem, thank you as well." Ash says as Elena gives him the Steel Badge. Then Elena says, "Good luck on your challenge, you have 6 more to go."
Ash nods and they go outside. After they are outside, much to their surprise is that Adam and Rose are there. "Daddy? What are you doing here?" Elena asks in surprise.
"I have come to see your battle against Ash. And I see that you give it all you got." Rose says.
Ash says, "It is nice to see you again, Chairman."
Adam says, "So Ash, you have only 6 gyms left, right?"
"Yeah, in fact, we three are." Ash says as Gloria and Marnie nod. "You see, Rose and I are talking about something important, you all are strong battlers, I hope you can help it out."
"Help out what? Mr. Ketchum?" Alice asks.
Rose says, "We decide to keep it a secret for now. But whatever happens in the end, I hope you can assist Leon to save the future."
Ash and the others nod, then Elena also shows Rose about the gem, and Rose is surprised that Elena is one of the girls in his harem, he just wants what is happy for his daughter as he agrees. Adam is also surprised that Ash has found all 7 of them, he gives him a father and son talk so that Ash will know how to have a date with them, after that they bid farewell to the two adults.
Now that the new chapter is done, Ash, Marnie and Gloria only have 6 gyms left. And it should be a relief to me since that 4 of them are already in the game.
