Everyone woke up in the courtyard outside of Beacon.
"What the hell happened?" Yang asked looking around.
"You got me." Blake stood up, "Last thing I remember was Endgame."
One by one, everyone that was snapped away from Infinity War was returning except for Salem, she stayed gone. Only one problem however: Ruby's body came back, but it was lifeless…
"Ruby?" The Xaio-Long family ran to her.
"She gave her life in Endgame, it's balance." Glynda said.
"Fuck balance!" Yang screamed, "Fuck the natural order! Fuck everything! Take me instead…me for her…" she screamed at to the heavens, "Take me! It's a fair trade!"
Weiss covered her mouth as she watched Yang cry over Ruby when a man in a suit and overcoat stood next to her. The Infinity Gauntlet appeared next to her.
"Yang!" Blake reached for her.
"Stay back Blake!" Yang hesitated before putting her hand inside.
"Hey, you're Mr. WarThunder!" Weiss gasped, "Do something!"
Mr. WarThunder didn't respond as he watched Yang.
"You're enjoying this?" Weiss asked.
"Shhh." Mr. WarThunder whispered.
Yang stared at the gauntlet, then at Ruby, she kept looking between the two before dropping the gauntlet.
"No." Mr. WarThunder said, "Pick it up. This isn't how the arc is supposed to end."
"The arc?" Blake asked.
"Look. The threat is over, both Salems are gone, but your sister is dead." Mr. WarThunder explained, "The older willing to give her life for her sisters. This is Cain and Able, this is epic."
"I thought Cain killed Able?" Port leaned over to Oobleck.
"There is a version where Able is talking to Lucifer instead of God. Cain traded places with Able, he killed him to save him, Cain's soul in hell for Able's soul in heaven." Oobleck explained.
"What are you saying?" Yang asked.
"He's saying he's been playing us." Weiss explained, "This whole time…the entire multiverse…Ruby, the Infinity Gems, everything! This is all you because you wrote it right? Because…because what? Because we're your favorite show? Because we're part of your story?"
"Yang no offense but your friend is stupid and crazy." Mr. WarThunder sighed, "Your sister is still dead. Pick up the gauntlet, pick it up, snap your fingers, and I'll bring her back. Your soul for Ruby's."
"No." Yang backed away from the Gauntlet, "No. Ruby was my hero, the REAL Ruby was my hero. And I miss her, and I will miss her every second of my life, but she would not want this. And it's not like you even really care. 'Cause Weiss is right. The multiverse, the Gems, Salem, you knew everything that was going on, so why the games WarThunder? Why don't you snap YOUR fingers and end it?!"
"And every other bad thing we've seen…" Pyrrha stepped forward, "Every version of us that dies…where were you? Just sitting back watching them suffer? Watching us suffer as we watch the ones we love die over and over and over again? When does it end? Tell me."
"Yang don't do this." Mr. WarThunder pleaded.
"No we're done talking. 'Cause this…this isn't just a story. It's our lives! So author or no author you go to hell!" Yang yelled.
Mr. WarThunder chuckled, "Have it your way."
Mr. WarThunder snapped his fingers and Summer began screaming as her soul exploded out of her body. Her eyes and mouth burned as the light escaped her body.
"Summer?" Taiyang helplessly watched.
"Sum?" Qrow gaped.
"Summer!" Raven ran to her side as she fell over still screaming and burning.
"Stop it." Weiss looked at Mr. WarThunder, "Stop it!" She made a move toward him and he sent her into the statue.
Yang looked around and saw Crescent Rose on Ruby's corpse. She grabbed it and turned it into her sniper mode.
"Hey WarThunder!" She called out.
He turned to face her and she took the shot. She saw the bullet hit his shoulder but another ripped clean through hers. She dropped Crescent Rose and held her wound, Blake came running up behind her to help.
Mr. WarThunder looked at the hole in his suit, "Fine! That's the way you want it? Story's over. Welcome to The End."
The sky was pitch black, not even a single star could be seen. Weiss dug herself out of the statues debris and limped over to her team.
"Yang what happened? You okay?"
"Yeah…" Yang stood up, "I've had worse…mom?"
"She's gone…" Qrow fell to his knees.
"Not again…" Raven grit her teeth.
Taiyang didn't say anything, he just carried her to Ruby, and held both of their lifeless bodies.
If the stars,
Fall down on me,
And the sun,
Refused to shine,
Then may the shackles be undone,
May all the old words cease to rhyme
If the sky,
Turned into Stone,
It would matter not at all,
For there is no heaven,
In the sky,
Hell does not wait,
For our downfall!
Red lightning cracked across the skies as flaming meteors crashed into the ground. Everybody ran back inside Beacon. Raven and Qrow had to pull Taiyang off of Ruby. While Port and Oobleck picked up the bodies and ran inside.
Let the voice of reason shine,
Let the fires vanish,
For all time,
God's face here,
Is unseen,
You can't ask him,
What it all means,
He was never on your side,
God was never on your side,
Let right or wrong,
On our own decide
God was never on your side.
Fissures split the earth and white spirits escaped from them.
"The hell is happening?" Coco asked watching everything unfold calling for her minigun.
"I think that…" Cardin's locker landed with his mace.
"What?" Nora asked.
"I think it's Hell…Hell on Earth…"
See ten thousand ministries
See the holy righteous dogs,
They claim to heal,
But all they do is steal,
An illusion of faith, cheat, and wrong,
If God is wise,
Why is he still,
When these false profits,
Call him friend,
Why is he silent,
Is he blind!?
Are we abandoned?
in the end?
Suddenly people started coming out of the fissures. Undead warriors from all across time and the multiverse.
"Jaune?" Pyrrha gasped.
"All of them…" Ren pointed out the different ones.
Countless zombies crawled out of the fissures and began toward Beacon.
"There must be millions…" Nora gasped.
"Good thing I grabbed this then." Blake slipped on the Infinity Gauntlet and snapped her fingers.
Let the sword of reason shine,
Let us be free of prayer and shrine
God's face is hidden,
Turned away,
He never has a word to say,
He was never on your side,
God was never on your side,
Let right or wrong,
On our own decide,
God was never on your side!
No, no, no.
Nothing happened…
She checked and saw the gems in the knuckle slots she snapped her fingers again and again but nothing was happening. She threw off the gauntlet and readied Gambol Shroud as the zombies began bashing the windows.
He was never on your side,
God was never on your side,
Never!
Never!
Never!
Never!
Never on your side!
Never on your side!
God was never on your side,
The glass broke and everyone began firing as the zombies flooded in.
Never on your side
