Dr. Charles: "Ok, now putting on these buttons I will analyze your body" –he said to the boy totally silent.
Since they had arrived at the laboratory, Dr. Charles told Brian to take off his sweatshirt and shirt so he could put the buttons that were attached with wires that went to a medium machine, like a kind of printer.
Dr. Charles: "Okay, I'll go check on the computer to see if your cells are joined with the energy that has been taken from you" –he said as he sat in his seat.
Brian was sitting on a stretcher while waiting for the results that Dr. Charles was going to give him. After a few minutes of waiting, a long paper with the results began to come out on the machine and Dr. Charles was focused only on the computer where he saw something interesting.
Dr. Charles: "Wow, I had never seen anything like that" –he said.
Erika approached where her father and she were surprised what was on the computer, however, Brian's patience was running out and he wanted to know exactly what was happening.
Brian: "What's the matter? What do they look at?" –He asked.
Dr. Charles: "This is impossible to believe. You see, what introduced you to your body, appeared some kind of bluish atoms that began to expand throughout your body, touching in your cells, hormones, among more. After feeling them, your hormones slowly began to mix with the substance they introduced you until you could wake up, but there are still some hormones to develop" –he explained.
Brian remained silent after hearing all this, until he could not believe it.
Erika: "At the moment the development phase is at 60%" –she said reading the long paper.
Dr. Charles: "Exactly. They also told me that an insane scientist is chasing you, I propose something, I will help you to make that phase 100% and you can defeat that subject" –he said.
The scientist's proposal made Brian think too much, mostly to defeat the man who did that to him. The boy from the museum was absolutely silent while thinking about it.
Brian: "But, with that power that I have, does anything else change in me?"
Erika read the long paper again to give the answer.
Erika: "Well, only your ability to run is increasing little by little, the rest has not changed anything, you're still the same boy, although with the power to run fast"
Brian took off the buttons of his body and began to put on his white shirt and stare at the scientist.
Brian: "Okay, I agree to help me, nothing more" –he said.
Dr. Charles: "Excellent choice, we will start the test tomorrow, we must sleep to have enough energy" –he said.
Brian grabbed his sweatshirt and began heading towards the stairs, leaving behind the scientist and Erika who talked for a while, the boy from the museum thought about the tests he was going to have tomorrow with the scientist, however, what bothered him most was the fact that the person who had done this must be looking for it between sea and land.
Brian: "That guy will not stop until he finds me, when I has enough energy, a good blow will come to him that he will never forget" –he told himself as he climbed the stairs.
Maria, Brian's mother, had not been the same since she learned that her son had died at the desert base and inside it was totally destroyed. Her husband Jim watched her on the couch with her pajamas and he couldn't bear to see her like that. His youngest son Timmy was sleeping and that made it a bit easier for him to not hear the conversation.
Jim: "Maria, you should sleep now" –he told his wife.
Maria: * Snif * "I'm not sleepy, go to sleep" –she said without looking at him.
Jim sighed slightly as he put his hand on his wife's shoulder to reassure her. She didn't want that at first, but she needed someone to be able to cry and she snuggled into her husband's chest, causing him to hug her.
Maria: "I miss him so much, Jim, I miss my little one" –she said, burying her head in her husband's chest.
Jim: "I know, I do too" –he said as he hugged her tightly.
Maria: "I am to blame, I have left aside Brian and the world made me pay, with the life of the being I love in my life"
Jim: "I think we've neglected Brian a lot. It is true that after what happened at the Museum, we never asked him how he was" –he said.
The couple of married fell silent on the couch and their eyes began to close slowly until they finally closed and they both fell asleep on the couch, with some tears slowly falling on their faces.
Brian was lying on the sofa in the living room while Dr. Charles slept in his room and Erika fell asleep in her old room, the boy from the museum fell silent while thinking about what was going to happen tomorrow.
Brian: "If everything the scientist told me is true, I need to do my best to get to the maximum. After that, it is personal" –he told himself.
After saying that, Brian was preparing to sleep and start a new day and a new training for him.
Brian: "I know they would help me, but I want to do it alone" –he said as he closed his eyes so he could sleep.
