Author's note: I spend most of the first month of the year trying to get back on track with the writing due to being on holiday and being back at work. But enough about me, let's get this back on the road, so to speak. Enjoy!
Chapter: What a day!
OOOOO
With the sun lowering and the colors changing as it sets, Roxanne sat on a branch at the top of a tree, enjoying the view while keeping an ear out for the fighting being done below. She thought about the day they had: the first thing they had done after stretching was 50 sets of various exercise. The same ones she had done in the morning when they first got up. After those, she challenges the boys to a hanging competition to see who can last the longing standing upside down a branch. She won, of course and Naruto out lasted Sasuke which he was happy about.
Then a battle royal of 20 clones per person "That's 60" Sasuke told Naruto who told him "I know that, Teme!" and the rules were to get rid of the their own clones, first ones to finish their clones wins.
Sasuke won that one, Naruto came second and Roxanne lasted a bit longer due to her extensive knowledge, which also happens to be the clones knowledge. As she kept fighting, the boys decided to search around for one of her storage seals for some water bottles and when they located one they headed back to where they left Roxanne only to come face to face with a dust blast.
Waving the dust away as they coughed, Naruto yelled out "Hey, no ninjutsu!"
"It wasn't!" She called out from the left. Coming to view, they see her dusting herself off "It was a body slam. You see the small indent it made?" She pointed "Clone is dust after an impact like that"
Handing her the bottle, Sasuke went to the body size crater to inspect it. Walking around the hole and looking closely, he could see the body imprint and nodded.
"See?" Taking a sip "The last ones are always the hardest because of the memory it gets from the losers that puff away" Another sip "Well worth the effort if it lasts this long" Both boys nodded.
"Can we try?" Naruto asks
"Fighting my clones?" a nod "How many?"
"Same, 20 to each of us"
"That's 60 of you" Sasuke so kindly offered. Naruto smacked his arm "We know that Teme!"
Roxanne grinned "When?"
And of course their stomachs decided to make themselves known at that moment in time and space. Naruto chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. Sasuke sighed and Roxanne looked to the position of the sun.
"Lunch already? Time flies when you're busy. Okay guys, where to eat? And yes Naruto, ramen can be an option this time" Roxane answered the question before Naruto had a chance to ask.
"Okay! Let's go!" Grabbing Sasuke's hand, the blonde dragged his teammate to the direction of where the ramen stand stood, leaving a laughing Roxanne behind.
OOOOO
Still sitting in the tree, Roxanne thought about what they did after lunch. Sasuke told Naruto if he had too much then they won't be able to jump back into training right away and Naruto ignored Sasuke's warning to order his tenth bowl. Roxanne kept out of that argument in favor of ordering her twelfth bowl.
Of course what Sasuke said came into fruition as Naruto walked slower and rubbed his stomach. Roxanne was fine but suggested they sit under a shady tree until he's fit to go again. Sasuke agreed and lead the way to a nearby park, trying to find the perfect tree to sit under. Picking one out, Naruto sat leaning up against the tree and Sasuke laid down with his head on the blonde's lap like they've been doing that all their lives. Roxanne sat to the blonde's right and let him lay his head on her shoulders, all three watching the kids play at the nearby playground. They all dozed off within minutes under the shade with a little breeze blowing by.
A while later a shout from one of the kids from the playground woke Roxanne from her slumber. Looking around at first then at the glaring sun to see that not much time has passed. Yawning and rubbing her eyes, she turned her head to see that the same blonde head from before was still on her shoulders and looking down, also saw that Sasuke was still on his lap. Nudging until she felt Naruto rouse from his sleep and lifted his head to look and came face to face with purple amused eyes. Giving a sleepy smile back, Naruto nuzzled her shoulders and breathed in her scent. Roxanne smiled at the affectionate display he was showing and couldn't help herself when she planted a tender kiss on his head. Naruto quietly chuckled and laid his head back down on her shoulders, turning to the person that is laying on his lap, only to see black eyes staring back.
Of course Sasuke woke up when he felt the nudge and looked up to watch the display. He watched, fascinated by how tender Roxanne is with Naruto and how easily Naruto felt in her presence. Jealously did not come to Sasuke, neither anger at how close they are or confusion at their open display of affection. He actually felt glad.
Glad that they all could openly be at ease with each other and how right it felt and so couldn't help himself when he turned into Naruto's stomach, nuzzled it and wrapped an arm behind the blonde. Inhaling his scent, Sasuke smiled and closed his eyes.
Roxanne smiled at their bedmate being comfortable enough to show affection to the blonde out in the open and turned her head to see that Naruto had placed one of his hands on Sasuke's head, petting the soft hair with a small smile on his face.
Obviously the scene didn't last long when a warning shout and a ball came flying at them.
The boys took a second to react and it would have been a second too late if it wasn't for the figure standing and blocking the shot with her hand stretched out. The ball bouncing off her hand to the sky, She easily caught it when it went back down to her and with a smile, she kept tossing it up as she turn to the boys.
"Well that is an alarm if I ever saw one, guess that means breaks over" She turns back towards where the ball came from and waved to a bunch of kids asking for their ball back. She estimated the distance, took a stance and threw the ball to the awaiting kids. The one who caught it stumbled back from the force of the impact as the other boys 'ooh'ed, impressed with the throw of a girl. Roxanne waved and smiled at the kids before turning back to boys, seeing that Sasuke is now standing with a hand held out for Naruto to take and so she came over and also held out her hand for him to take. Naruto looked at both hands held out to him then to the ones whose attached to whom and smiled, grabbing both hands and they hauled him up. Roxanne adjusted her grip on his hand and smiled at Naruto questioning glance as she also wrapped her other hand on his arm, hugging that arm to her. Sasuke too adjusted his hold on the blonde's hand and shrugged when Naruto turned to him with a questioning look.
A wide grin appeared on his face that could rival the sun at being held by his two precious people and started walking with them by his side to the training grounds they started from.
After walking for a few minutes in silence, a yell from ahead broke that silence. Looking ahead, the trio saw Shikamaru, Choji and Ino heading towards them. Naruto, thinking that the other two didn't want to be seen like this, started to loosen his hands from both sides but their grip tighten instead, which made his smile all the more.
"Hey guys!" Naruto greeted as the trio stopped in front of the other trio.
"Hey, what's up?" Shikamaru asked while taking a quick glance at the hand holding.
"Hey, what are you three up to?" Ino asked with a huge grin 'Sakura is gonna freak when I tell her this!' went through her mind with mental glee.
'Munch, munch, munch' Choji ate from his chip bag, his hand disappearing every millisecond.
"We were actually heading over to the grounds to continue training, what were you guys up to?"
"Same, we just finished lunch and thought it be best if we get our training down"
"Cool, so which way are you going?"
Shikamaru pointed behind them in some direction. Roxanne pointed behind the other three in some direction.
"We're that way" all nodded and were about to walk away when Shikamaru spoke up.
"Roxanne, can we speak to you?" Naruto and Sasuke's ears perked up at that, Roxanne smiled and nodded. Letting go of Naruto's hand and giving a light shove to get them moving, she turned to walk with the other three a few feet away. When Shikamaru deemed it a safe distance, he open his mouth to speak when they heard Ino give a girly squeal and hid her face behind Choji's back, still squealing and gripping his jacket.
"Oh my god! Oh my god, oh my god! They are holding hands, they Are HOLDING HANDS!" Ino whispered loudly as she looked to Naruto and Sasuke who are smiling and talking at each other while still holding hands. Shikamaru and Roxanne watched also as Ino continued squealing into Choji's back.
"So"
"Hm"
"Since you've arrived to this village and the academy, I've noticed that Naruto's behavior has changed drastically. He was called dead last in our early years cause he always came in last in every subject and games. In that one day, one day (He showed one finger) that you came and showed up: he managed to hit his targets like he's been doing it his whole life. After that, I've noticed he changed his style of clothing: that orange getup was the worse color for a soon to be shinobi and that's thanks to you. Then I've noticed how he toned down his behavior, gotten a healthy glow to his features and gave an honest truthful smile, not like the fake ones he used to use" Shikamaru stopped for a second, watching as Sasuke laughed and leaned his head on Naruto's shaking shoulder as he too laughed at something they said.
"You also got Sasuke to notice him. To really notice Naruto. And he was trying to get your attention instead" Here he chuckles "I've noticed how they are together and it's like they fit, like they are supposed to fit together. They can't be one without the other and I hope you understand that"
Roxanne turned to Shikamaru with a small smile and a raised eyebrow. He chuckles
"Of course you do, it was probably expected too when we graduated and they assigned the teams, knowing that if you were off somewhere with a different team than at least Naruto had Sasuke" Shikamaru laughed as he leaned his head back and looked to the sky, sighing. They could still hear Ino whispering excitedly to Choji who is still eating his bag of chips, listening to his teammate like the good friend he is. Still looking to the blue sky, Shikamaru spoke again:
"I just wanted to say thank you" He turned his head to Roxanne "Thank you for sitting beside him, thank you for introducing yourself, thank you for sticking by him, thank you for helping him get healthy, thank you for teaching him, thank you for always being with him and thank you for making him smile like he was born to do"
Roxanne smiled and put a hand on his shoulder "And thank you for always looking out for him, you are one of his best friends, Shika and for that you have my gratitude"
Shikamaru smiled and nodded his thanks.
"Hey! What you two talking about?" They heard Ino asked as they both turned towards her and Choji.
"Statistics" They both said at the same time. Roxanne and Shikamaru turned to each other and smiled, giving a fist bump to each other. Roxanne waved at the others before walking away and back to the boys, grabbing Naruto's hand and pulled them along. Naruto gave a surprised yelp and Sasuke almost fell over at the sudden movement while Roxanne laughed.
The trio they left behind watched the other three leaving with smiles on their faces.
OOOOO
When they got to the training area, Roxanne made 40 clones and dug into her weapons pouch.
"Ok guys, we are going to do something different" pulling out wires and sealing papers.
"Like what?"
"Real life scenarios"
"What does that mean?"
"It means that you two are up against these clones while I rain down trouble" She then jumped up to one of the branches on a tree and took out her kunais.
"Eh?!"
"Start!"
Chaos ensued: the clones all attacked in every direct as the boys who are giving their all in blocking and dodging. They didn't have time to think, only following their instincts but they weren't ready for what came after. From the sky, kunai attached either by wires or sealing papers came crashing down to where they are. The one attached to wire were pulled back up once it hit the ground and thrown back down, the papers attached to each knife popped like fire crackers once it hit the grounds and the kunais left were thrown back up to the original.
"Roxanne!" Dodging, jumping, slashing and kicking.
"This is CRAZY!" Punching, running, blocking and kicking.
"Then kick some Fucking ass Naruto! I haven't seen one single clone bust yet!" Throwing more knifes down with a gleeful grin as she sees each seal popping but no clones have yet to be dismissed.
A thought came to mind in wanting to add a more dramatic effect, Roxanne did the hand signs and released a gust of wind to the grounds, pushing each individual to step back. Everyone and everything stopped when the wind died down and they all looked up at the culprit.
"What the Hell!?" All the clones yelled and Roxanne laughed, throwing her head back. "We didn't agree to that, boss!"
"What part of 'real life scenario' did you Not get?! Don't expect the real world to just sit around waiting for you all to finish just to step in, real life does not wait and neither will I" Holding out a knife "Now, breaks over" tossing the knife down, it popped and the fighting resumed.
Roxanne looked down at the different blurs going left to right, throwing down different knifes and sealing papers. Suddenly she replaced herself with a substitute and appeared some distance away, holding out a knife to a throat. Seeing the mask and grey hair, Roxanne stepped back and smirked.
"Interesting battle" Bringing a hand to his throat and looking at it to see that no blood has been drawn, he stared at Roxanne who sheath her knife.
"Got to keep them on their toes" She said as she turned her head to where the battle is going on.
"What with the knives and papers?" Leaning back on the tree to watch the battle.
"Real life scenarios: I'm throwing down kunai that are tied to wires so I can pull them back up and some of the kunai have sealing papers that pop when they hit the ground to intimidate explosions and those get thrown back to me after it pops. Plus my clones are pretend bandits"
"Hmm. Why your clones and not the boys?"
"We did that earlier and the boys wanted to see how facing my clones will be like"
"Hmm" They stood watching the battle go on, seeing none of the clones pop yet and seeing the boys going on the defense then offense.
"Any particular reason you're spying on us?"
"I figured you were back when I saw Milo on his way home and knew the boys would probably ask you to train with them"
"Milo went home earlier"
"Hmm"
"And you're here now"
Silence.
"Let me guess: you had better things to do then check on us earlier and now that you have seen what we're doing, are regretting not checking sooner. Am I right?"
Silence
"I'm right"
Silence
"Well, enjoy the show. Feel free to take some pointers on your training methods for the boys in the future" Roxanne slapped Kakashi on the shoulder and puffed away, leaving a baffled Jonin wondering how he allowed himself to get smacked.
Dismissing the substitute and resumed throwing knives to the ground, Roxanne smiled when another jutsu came to mind. Doing the hand signs, Roxanne spit out air burst to the ground, watching how it blew the dust when impacted, making small dent in the ground.
"Hey!"
"Dammit, Boss!"
"Roxanne!"
"No Fair!" and many other yelling could be heard over the laughter from the tree branch.
OOOOO
Over the next couple hours of the battle, each boy was able to defeat 10 clones, no help from the original that is still up in the tree. Kakashi took off after watching for a few minutes, Roxanne ran out of papers but kept up her wired kunai and the occasional air release jutsu, laughing every time it made impact and made everyone else scatter. Looking once more to the position of the setting sun, Roxanne sighed and jumped down to the ground level:
"Enough! I call bullshit!"
Everyone stopped, with confused looks at her words and how she had her arms stretched out to her sides: as if she were actually stopping the battle.
"Huh?"
"Sorry, wrong choice of words but Enough! I'm calling an end to this and it'll be postpone until next time"
"What? why?"
"It's getting late and I know we're getting hungry" as if on cue, all stomach grumbled.
Naruto laughed as he rubbed his belly, Sasuke turned his head away with a small blush coating his cheeks and all the clones grumbled in annoyance, a couple even stamped their foot.
"Come on! It was just getting good!" one clone yelled as the rest nodded in agreement. Roxanne scoffed and grabbed that one by the back of her neck and hauled her to the side, away from listening ears.
"Listen! We can go as long as we can because we've done it a million times but the boys can't, they aren't like us" The clone gave a snort then yelped when she got smacked upside her head.
"Don't be a smart ass. Do you want them to be exhausted for what we have planned for tonight?"
The clone rubbed the back of her head and said meekly "No we don't"
"Good, and besides, this is only a postponement. You can kick their ass at a later date" The clone grinned
"Of course I can"
Roxanne smirked at her clone and dismissed them all before the clone could say something else snippy. Roxanne then walked back to the boys who took the time while waiting to stretch out their muscles from the long battle, both turning as she got close and they shook off the last of their tension.
"Alright?" Sasuke asked
"Yeah, you know clones, they like to be snarky" Naruto laughed and nodded.
"Well, Come on guys, I'm starving and ramen is calling out for me" Naruto turned to run in the direction of the ramen stand when Roxanne grabbed his wrist to stop him in his tracks and waved a finger at him.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. We already had ramen for lunch, Naruto, so no"
"But ramen" said in a whiny voice that had the other chuckling at the blonde
"Will always be there tomorrow, that is if Sasuke allows it" Said teen shook his head and Naruto pouted at them. Roxanne smiled and traded the blonde's wrist for his hand and tugged him to walk. On his other side, Sasuke grabbed his free hand and nudged his shoulders with Naruto's whom looked at the boy and gave a small smile.
"I know, I know. I just had ramen today and the next time won't be for a while, right?"
"You knew so you didn't need an answer from us"
"Obviously" Naruto said as he laughed and tugged both his friends by the hands towards their home.
OOOOO
When they reached Roxanne's floor, she ushered the boys to go to Naruto's to clean up and dressed comfortable. And yeah, Naruto had to ask:
"What's comfortable?"
Sasuke and Roxanne gave a deadpanned look to their blonde friend, then to each other and back to the blonde. Not dignifying that with a response, Sasuke took hold of Naruto's shoulder and steered him up the steps while said blonde kept asking. Roxanne shook her head and went to her door but stopped in front of it to make sure the boys reached the floor above before knocking in code to the door.
It open a second later and Roxanne slipped in. Nodding to the clones inside, Roxanne grabbed a set of clothes and went to take a shower as one clone went outside to sit by the door, waiting for the boys to come by.
OOOOO
"Oh! You mean this kind of comfortable?"
Sasuke gave a small smile instead of an answer and gestured for them to go. Making sure to have the keys and locked the door behind them, they made their way down the steps to Roxanne's floor only to stop when they saw 'Roxanne' sitting on the floor next to the door. They exchanged a look before Sasuke cleared his throat. 'Roxanne' looked up smiled and gave a knock to the door before puffing away. Again the boys gave each other a look when they heard 'come in' from the inside and opened the door to a dark room.
Lights went on.
POP! POP! POP!
"SURPRISE!" Yelled 5 Roxanne's.
Inside the apartment, streamers and balloons hung from the ceiling, confetti flew everywhere from the poppers in the girls hands and the table was set in the middle of the room with a red table cloth and expensive looking dinnerware. To the side, where the table usually is, is a long table with gold table cloth and all kinds of food, prepared buffet style.
All in all, the boys felt underdressed but looking to the one coming towards them, dressed in her fuzzy purple pajamas bottoms and blue plaid long sleeve top, they felt better about their own pjs.
"Surprised?" she asked as she hugged both boys, one arm around each of their waist.
"But what's it for?" Naruto asked as Roxanne let them go.
"Remember I said I was going to throw you two a celebration on passing the Kakashi test?"
Naruto's eye light up so bright, Roxanne had to shield her eyes from the shine of it and Sasuke stood by him with sunglasses on. Once the spots disappeared from her sight, she turned back to the boys and gestured for them to dig right in as she dispelled the rest of her clones.
As they sat down on the table, Sasuke noticed a metal container standing by the table with ice in it and on closer inspection, he saw a bottle of champagne.
Sasuke groaned and hung his head back, pointing at the bottle. "Why?"
"Calm your damn tits, boy!" Sasuke head snapped back to fast that even Naruto winced.
"What did you just say!?" Roxanne smirked as she lifted the bottle and pointed to the bottom lettering.
"Naruto, read that please" She asked but didn't take her eyes off the dark haired teen.
"Non-alcoholic Beverage. Cool!" And took the bottle from her hands to open it.
"Like I said, calm your tits and enjoy" Naruto snickered, ignoring the glare he got from Sasuke and popped the cork, pouring into 3 glasses on the table.
"Alright, let's eat!" Naruto dug right in, Sasuke took a more calm approach and Roxanne watched for a second before beginning on hers.
After a few minutes, she cleared her throat for attention, both boys looking to her with questions in their eyes.
"Tonight, feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer them. Except for my mission tomorrow, that's still classified" She pointed out and took a scoop of food into her mouth, watching the boys. They turned to each other, Sasuke lifted a brow and Naruto nodded.
"How is it that we're all Genin, but you've been out of the village three times on these 'missions' and we're still on D-missions?"
"Do you want to take on harder missions? Are you ready for them?" the boys again looked at each other, having a silent conversation but Roxanne interrupted:
"If it takes this long to answer then that's answer enough. Next question"
"How did you do that jutsu, the one at the training grounds?"
"Air style jutsu or Air release jutsu. I learned it when I was young since it was my element"
Silence followed as both boys looked at her, she stared back, trying to get them to realized what she's talking about.
"You know element? Chakra nature element?" again nothing "It's based on your chakra what your natural element is?"
"And how do you know what element you are?" Oh! That's what has them stumped. Roxanne smiled and stood up, heading to her room to rummage through her night stand and comes back to the main room. Holding out her hand to reveal papers.
"These are chakra papers used for sealing and such but they can tell what's your element" Handing one paper each to each boy, she held out one paper with her fingers.
"Just flow your chakra into these papers and they will react different ways. If you are water, the paper will soak. If you are air, the paper will tear in half. If you are fire, the paper will charred. If you are earth, it will crumble. And last but not least, if you are lightening then the paper will crinkle. So just flow a little bit of chakra into the paper and it will reveal like so"
The small piece of paper she held with her fingers split in half a second later.
"There. Now you try"
Naruto looked at the paper in Roxanne's hand and then to his own, letting the flow of his chakra into the paper until that too split in half.
"Congratulations Naruto, your element is Wind"
"Why did you call it air instead of wind?"
"I don't know. I guess I like calling myself an air user instead of wind user. Anyways, you are Wind and let's see what Sasuke is"
"I already know what my element is"
"Really. Prove it then if you know what you are" Naruto said as he gave Sasuke a very skeptic look, Roxanne put her elbows on the table and her fist under her chin, giving the dark haired teen her full attention. Not to be deterred from the looks, Sasuke cleared his throat and proceeded to flow his chakra into the paper.
The paper crinkled.
"But, but.. That's not right!" Waving the piece of paper around to emphasize his point
"What do you mean it's not right?" Naruto asked
"My family. The Uchiha's are born fire users. I know how to use Fire jutsu's so this can't be right!"
"ok, ok! Calm down, calm down. It's ok" Both Naruto and Roxanne put a hand on his shoulders as he got his breathing under control and Roxanne began to explain.
"I'm just guessing here but are the Uchiha's natural Fire users?" Sasuke nodded.
"Then that explains it. They are natural at it but it's not their base element" Sasuke turned to Roxanne "Your base element is lightening but as an Uchiha, you are still a fire user and that is Very compatible with us Wind users"
"Hey! That's right!" Naruto said as he squeezed Sasuke's shoulder. Roxanne patted him and brought her hand back to her spoon, pointed it at him.
"You and Naruto are on the same team and so if you practice your combinations, You'll be unstoppable"
Sasuke turned to the blonde who smiled at the thought and in turn, Sasuke smirked:
"Of course we will be" They continued eating.
"So I've been wanting to ask this for a while now but before it was kind of rude to bring it up. Now though since you said we can ask anything: Where'd you get the money from?" Naruto asked as he took a sip of his drink and Sasuke looked between the two.
"What money?"
"The money she has to make and get all this?" Naruto gestured to the table of food, the expensive china and the room.
"The room? Hasn't it always been like this?"
"No teme, our apartment was just one open space with a kitchen. No room until Roxanne one day bought and made our rooms. Not only that, but my clothes, the ones in my room, she paid for. Also our groceries that one day magically appeared last week after we came back from our jog and Roxanne came back from her second mission that same morning" Roxanne nodded along but Sasuke still looked confused.
"Listen. Our apartment rent is paid for by the admin office at the Hokage's office and once a week we get an allowance of sort"
"I don't get an allowance"
"And that allowance is supposed to buy what we need to last until the next payment which isn't much but I get by. Since Roxanne showed up: I didn't need to pay for food, clothes, supplies. The lumber and bed and bed stuff? She paid for and built while we were in class still at the academy. Remember yesterday? When I woke you up and showed you my new bed? Her bed came first and then out of nowhere, I now have a new bed" Sasuke eyes widen with every word Naruto explained and soon turned to Roxanne who was happily chewing on her food.
"How are you able to pay for all this (Gesturing to everything, including Naruto in that category)?"
Roxanne gave him a sly smirk. "In my life time, I've travel near and far. I've traveled to the sea, I've traveled to the mountains and I've traveled through the desert. When you travel, you hear stories of hidden riches that no one is able to find" Scooping food in her mouth, she chewed for a minute and after swallowing, she smiled.
"I've actually found those riches"
"You mean like treasure?"
Nodding "And in this day and age, a bag of gold can be exchanged for a lot of cash"
"A bag"
"Of gold?"
Nodding again "And if a minor finds a bag of gold, she has to find peoples who will not rip her off just because she's still young. I happened to find such peoples and they have invested my money very well and mainly because I pay them well enough they don't steal from me. If they like getting my money and making something out of it, then they have to keep me happy since there's more of it"
"More?"
"More then a bag of gold?"
"A lot more" Roxanne smiled at the boys as she took a sip of her drink. No one said anything for a while, trying to process what Roxanne said. They continued eating their dinner and drinking their drinks.
"Did you stayed anywhere for a long period of time then you did here?"
"Sand village, I spent about a couple years there and went back as much as I can"
"Why?"
"Training purposes. Plus my friend lives there so I need to visit as often as I can"
"Friend?"
"Yeah, we met when we were younger and trained together whenever I drop by"
"When was the last time you were there?"
"A month before I came to this village. He wanted me to go to the academy there but I decided on this village"
"He? Your friend is another boy?" Roxanne turned to Naruto, her brows furrowed in question
"Yes, he's another boy. Is that a problem?" Sasuke and Naruto looked at each other, silently talking with their expressions.
"Guys? Do you have a problem with my friend from another village being a boy?" Again the boys looked at each other until Sasuke spoke.
"Just. Don't take this the wrong way but"
"We don't want to share" Naruto blurted out. Roxanne's eye widen at the outburst as Naruto blushed and looked down.
Roxanne put her spoon down on the plate, looking between the boys "Do you want to repeat that"
"What Naruto means to say is that"
"We don't want to share" Naruto blurted out again but this time stared back with confidence, even though he was blushing red.
Roxanne stared at the blond and laughter started bubbling from her chest and it built up until she fell to the floor, laughing while clutching her sides. Naruto and Sasuke didn't know what to do. After a few minutes of laughing, Roxanne started to calm down and when she did, she climbed back up onto her seat and gave a wide grin to the boys.
"That's cute" Picking up her spoon and scooping food into her mouth, Roxanne continued to eat.
"That's it?" Roxanne gave the question a raised eyebrow.
"We just declared out loud that we don't want to share you with anyone and you call it cute?"
"What else should I call it?"
"Honestly, I thought you'd be offended of us staking a claim on you without your consent and maybe hit us a little" Roxanne sniggered at the thought.
"See, it's cute. But we're still young and have a long way to go in our ninja career"
"We're not sharing you" Roxanne smiled as she sipped her drink
"And that's final"
She giggled at that "So Cute" and continued to eat, giving a wink to both boys as they sighed.
When they finished eating, Roxanne made 2 clones and got them to clean up, putting any leftovers away and denying the boys help. Refilling the glasses, she suggested they move to the room so the clones can clean up and have Naruto pick a movie while Sasuke and Roxanne make the bed and fluff the pillows. Once Naruto picked a movie and popped it in the player, he went over to the bed and plopped himself in the middle.
"You said you traveled far and wide?" a nod "Why didn't you just stay in your village? Where are your parents?"
Naruto and Roxanne looked at each other when Sasuke asked that and gave each other a nod before sitting up and facing their dark haired friend.
"My parents died when I was 4. My guardian stays in our home but after the papers got approved for her to be my guardian, I left. My dad taught me about surviving on my own before and while the papers were being pushed through, I trained long and hard so I can be on my own. She still lives there to this day and once in a while I'll write to her to let her know I'm ok. Last I wrote her, I told her I'll be in this village, training to be a shinobi and so I gave her my address if she ever wanted to get hold of me"
"Oh"
"I don't have parents. I lived in the orphanage until I turned 6 and Grandpa Hokage got me this place so I can learn to survive on my own. Learned to cook, clean and mend my clothes" Naruto explained his situation
"Oh" Silence followed as Naruto and Roxanne looked at each other than to Sasuke, with his head facing down and his hair covering everything else.
"Its ok if you don't want to share, we just wanted to put it out there" Naruto added as he laid back down and pressed the button on the remote. Roxanne nodded and climbed over to Naruto's left, fluffed her pillow and laid down. When the opening credits started, they noticed that Sasuke has yet to get comfortable but they gave him space. A few minutes into the movie, Sasuke rearranged his pillows and nudged Naruto, whom lifted his arm and Sasuke snuggled into his chest, gripping the blonde's shirt. Wrapping his arm around Sasuke, Naruto looked to Roxanne and she just shook her head.
They watched the movie and somewhere in between they heard his voice:
"I was turning 8 when everyone was killed. To this day, I can't set foot in the compound without freezing" the hand that gripped Naruto's shirt tighten as the arm around Sasuke brought him closer.
No one spoke after that. When the movie ended, Sasuke still had a grip on Naruto's shirt while he still had his arm wrapped around Sasuke. Roxanne held that hand as she too snuggled into the blonde's chest.
All asleep with the ending credits rolling in the background.

Her internal clock woke up Roxanne as she nuzzled the back of Naruto's, squeezing the body for a second and then letting go. She stood up and stretched, giving one last yawn before she got ready. She made a clone and they got to work: Roxanne changing while the clone got a pack ready for her. Once finished, Roxanne went back in the room and sat down on the edge of the bed next to Sasuke, she watched as both boys slept, holding each other. She ran a hand through Naruto's hair then through Sasuke's before standing up and giving a kiss to both of the boys hair. Breathing in their scent, She smiled and left, taking her pack from her clone and walked out the door.
She did have a mission to get to and a Jonin to smack, she smirked as she jumped over the railing and ran full speed to the designated gate, not making a sound and only the critters as witnesses.
