Their relationship repaired, Ben and Emma decided to go out one Saturday night. The thoughts inside Emma's head reflected her worries about what would happen if Jason, John Boy, Jim Bob and Ben would have to go to war. Hopefully America would never have to get involved.

"What milkshake do you want?" Ben asked her as they stood outside for a moment. As Emma told him her order, they walked inside and Ben sauntered up to the counter. Emma sat down at a table beside the window. Her eyes widened as she saw a familiar face from school who she hadn't seen since she graduated.

"Nancy?" She muttered to herself, glancing away as Ben sat down with their two drinks. "Thanks."

Ben smirked. "No problem." He sipped at his, until his eyes followed Emma's. "Nancy? But she moved away ages ago!"

"I know." Emma giggled. "I just noticed."

Erin was babysitting John Curtis for Mary Ellen. She had him up in the girls' room, and she was reading him a story. After finishing, she set down the book and let him face her. "One day I'm gonna have a little boy like you, Johnny." She kissed his nose. "Don't tell anyone this, but I love babies." She bounced him up and down.

Elizabeth pranced in, her red hair tied back in a plait. "Oh, can I hold him Erin?" Erin reluctantly handed her nephew over.

"You look very pretty. Drew won't be able to keep his eyes off you." Erin teased.

"He tries to talk to me, but Aimee keeps butting in. She says she likes him better than me." Elizabeth sighed, kissing John Curtis's head.

"Ame." John Curtis laughed, clapping his hands.

Emma strolled down to the mill, looking for Ben. Instead she found John, who was reading something. "Can you find my glasses? It's hard to read without them."

Emma picked them up from the ground and handed them over. "It's a wonder no one stepped on them." She smiled. "Where's Ben?"

"Oh, he's away." John waved his hand dismissively, turning his back and walking towards his office. Emma frowned in confusion. Why on earth was Ben away? Away to where? It wasn't like him to just leave a job in the middle of the day.

It had only been half an hour, yet Emma was annoyed out of her wits. Relief rushed to her head as she saw Ben pull up. He smiled at her as he got out of the truck, but ignored her questions.

"Ssh." He smirked. "I have to do something." Mary Ellen steered Emma towards the house.

"Leave it, Emma. He's trying to do something romantic." Mary Ellen teased, and Emma blushed. Grandma scolded and had to keep her inside for the rest of the hour. Finally Ben walked in.

"Ben, what is wrong?" Emma demanded, an eyebrow raised.

Ben took her hand and led her to just outside the chicken coop. He took a deep breath, and went red before starting to talk. "I've been a jerk, and I haven't been considerate of your feelings. I'm very sorry, please forgive me. Maybe I wanted to talk here-weird place, I know, because it is where we had that fight seven years ago. And that's when I started to like you as more then a friend. "

Emma bit her lip, glancing around."You liked me even then? I mean you have told me..."

"I did. And I thought this would be the best way to tell you that I liked you." He blushed, and handed her a wooden bracelet. It was the most beautiful thing Emma had ever seen, the engraved E on the front was just enough to set her into tears.

"Oh Ben I love you." She rubbed at her eyes, pulling him into a hug. "I guess I never really realised." Ben didn't dare move, but he just held her close as she cried into his shoulder.

"So, you're basically engaged?"

"Goodnight, Elizabeth. We are NOT!"

"Yeah right."

"Go to sleep, y'all."

"Night, Jason."

"BEN AND EMMA, SITTIN' IN A TREE, K-"

"Shut it."

"I-S-S-"

"Elizabeth, hush up!"

"I-N-G!"

"FIRST COMES LOVE,"

"Not you too Jim Bob."

"THEN COMES MARRIAGE-"

"Jason-"

"THEN A BABY IN A BABY CARRIAGE!"

"Mary Ellen and Erin are officially ommited from my wedding. Goodnight y'all!"
