Bonus - The Rise

Several months later

"Anything?" A voice called out from behind the rubble. His question was hopeful while he himself was losing any such notion.

"Nothing yet!" The other voice called back. The person in question was digging deeper and deeper into the rubble. He made his way through brick by brick. To say he was confident it was here would have been a lie but deep down he believed. His fingers had started to blister and were cut up from the hours of searching. He didn't care, it would solve itself if he just found what he was looking for.

"I don't mind searching for the rest of the day but what are you going to tell your wife when you return home looking like you've just been dragged through a forest made of knives?" The first voice yelled from a different position. He had moved to look in a different area.

"Well I'm kind of hoping to return successful. Then she will only be happy for me. Thanks again for helping me look."

"No worries. I promised the day the Darkness was defeated that I would look out for you and that's what I'm doing. It would be a lot easier to look after you once we find it."

"It's insane to think it's almost been a year already." The second voice commented. He was struggling to move a large boulder that was blocking his way. His voice was strained and the first person picked up on it and decided to come help him.

"I know right. Simone and Benny are getting married soon. She might be pregnant. It's strange to think that all the kids are going to be roughly the same age. I feel like all we've been doing for a year is celebrating weddings and going to meet new babies." The pair used all of their strength to push the boulder out of the way. Once they had, they felt an invisible wall that seemed to reject them.

"I think we're in the right place, finally, and I know what you mean but that's life. It's the happy days. We are bonded by our love and finally bringing a generation of children to this world that will know light instead of darkness." The pair pushed against the invisible wall until they managed to fall through to the other side. The rest of the castle seemed intact, unlike it had appeared from the outside.

"True. I never thought I'd be married with a son. I just thought those sorts of things would never happen to me." They walked through the castle until they arrived at an empty pedestal.

"It's not here?" The first voice continued speaking as he looked around. The second person closed his eyes and felt a familiar feeling.

"No… It's here. I can feel it. It's calling out to me again." He smiled at the first person before knocking him on the arm.

"That happiness was always yours to take Marshall. As crazy as it was yours and Fionna's wedding was beautiful although I never want to try surfing into a volcano again. Hunter is adorable and takes after you so much. I know you've been worried about the Future Hunter but Ivy has promised to look after him. He's going to be okay." They climbed the stairs and finally arrived at an empty office. The second person walking in and stroked the table.

"What's this place?" Marshall asked as he blew some dust off of an old but large mirror.

"It's the place where I was named and was given life again. Well a version of it. I met my father here and we talked for hours. About me, about him and about the world. I wish, at that time, I could have just imagined what our lives would be today. I wish I could have told him all of what was to come." Marshall smiled as the other person smiled back at him. They left the room and walked until they came to the only locked door. The light inside was still shining brightly.

"And this place?"

"It's a place that keeps you alive. It can be a blessing or a curse but either way. This is where I came from. The origin of my second life." He pushed the door open with ease and looked at the empty room.

"It's empty?" Marshall asked confused. The other laughed and closed his eyes, within seconds a pedestal had appeared before them, decorated with a tiara of black and white.

"This room is special as I was once told. It gives you not exactly what you want but exactly what you need." He stepped forth and picked up for tiara before placing it gently on his head. His vision flashed black and white until he stood in completely white room, before him stood a person shouded only in black.

"It's a pleasure to see you again my Prince, I guess I was wrong after all and the Shade Prince rises again."

"Hello Ghost, I guess you were. Are you ready?" Lumen smiled widely as he held his hand out to the black figure.

"For what my Prince?" As he took the hand offered to him. Lumen's hair returned to the black and white it had been before the moment they touched. His body began to glow as his powers returned to him.

"Adventure Time."

A/N: And that's the end. A story I started to write almost 5 years ago reaches it's final chapter. It began with a fall and ended rising up to something that means so much to me. I can't express how much it meant to write and finish this story. It took longer and was much more in depth than I had ever intended. I want to thank every single person who read and reviewed. Your support was incredible.

As a special mention I'd like to thank a few people in particular. Firstly RookeSiegeMaster, You popped up last year and asked if I was okay. Reminding me just how long I had neglected this story. Thank you for bringing me back to it and letting me finish it. I hope you enjoy the end as much as you enjoyed the rest of the story.

And secondly, Fiery Crusader. You have reviewed I'm pretty sure every chapter. From start to the end you have supported and reviewed, letting my know exactly what you liked about the story. Your reviews were something I looked forward to and I've always enjoyed them. Thank you for every review and each time you made me smile.

Thank you all.
