Bella's Point of View
The moment I saw him, I knew that we were all in great danger.
I didn't even have time to see what happened, I could only feel my body move to the ground. Thankfully I didn't land to hard, just on my bottom. My sight was hindered as tables were stacked around me.
Quickly I looked around. Avery was next to me, tears running down her cheeks. She looked to me in terror.
"Bella? What's going on?" She crawled over to me with alarm in her tone.
There was screaming and yelling all around us, I could also hear the sound of blood platters and body coming in contact with the cafeateria floor.
"Shh, stay down, there is a very dangerous vampire here." I whispered to her, barely able to hear myself speaking over the loud beating of my heart. "Don't move."
Slowly I moved to my feet, leaning over the table just for a minute to see what was happening. When I did I felt my stomach heave.
The floor was a sea of blood as piles of students lined the floors. There was no more than ten students left, they all crowded around the door, pounding on it, trying to escape with their lives but the door wouldn't budge.
I turned away, my body trembling as I puked. The smell of blood and fear was thick in the air. But I couldn't look away for long, I had to spot Edward. I needed to make sure he was ok.
Again, I leaned over the top of the table, where I spotted Caius walking over to the group of students with a chuckling wickly.
"There is no point, your fate was sealed the moment you stepped into this room." He grabbed a hold of one of the students.
I recognized him instantly, it was Malcom.
Malcom screamed, trying to punch, kick and do any kind of injury towards Caius, but it did nothing to him. Caius smiled widely as he slowly twisted Malcom's head completely around; causing a sickening crack.
Malcom's head fell to the ground with a thud.
The moment that happened I heard an enraged fit of growls from very close by. Right in front of the table stood Stephany and Andrew, who went flying towards Caius.
No! Don't go! You are no match for him! We need to get the hell out of here!
"You fucking monster!" Stephany screamed flying into Caius with rage.
Andrew went for his legs, ripping into him as hard as he could. But it didn't seem to affect Caius at all. With one swift kick Caius kicked Andrew's head off his body and in the same motion he threw Stephany across the room.
"Cheer up you whore, now you don't have to try choosing between the two of them." Caius snickered, as he began burning Andrew's body.
I watched in shock as five other vampires ran towards Malcom's body, they all began to drink from him, ripping his body to shreds. The sounds of their drinking and their snarls sent chills down my spine.
"Enough of this Caius, you made your point, leave them the fuck alone!" Demetri called out, flying over to get into Caius' face.
Caius' expression changed and he quickly took Demetri by the neck. "Well... if it isn't the traitor. I should have ended your existence first."
"As much as I'd love for you to kill that bastard, I'm afraid we can't let that happen." Rose yelled now moving forward, along with Tristian and Edward.
I almost sigehd in relief to see that he was alright.
Cauis face twisted into a sadistic sneer, before launching Demetri across the room. Demetri landed hard into a table; causing it to split in half.
The students continued to scream and try breaking their way out of the doors. Which must have gotten Cauis' attention.
He moved over, taking a hold of someone by the hair, pulling her away from the others.
"There you are my sweet." He smirked at her, lightly running his tongue down her neck. She squealed in horror, tears falling down her cheeks.
It was Morgan.
"You're best friends with my girl Bella, aren't you sweet heart?" He laughed, taking her by her hair and forcing her to her knees.
Morgan glared up at him. "You stay the fuck away from her. I swear if you hurt anyone else... I'll kill you myself."
Cauis laughed joyously, before pulling out a knife, slowly he plundged the knife into her eye; blood instantly squirted from her eye socket... her eye slide out and onto the floor.
Morgan screamed at the top of her lungs, sobbing and breathing so fast that it appeared she was about to have a panic attack.
"You stupid worthless bitch." Cauis muttered, taking her head and smashing it down to the floor.
Morgan laid there for a moment as a puddle of blood began to form under her. But I could still see her labored breathing.
"Now, why don't you do me a favor and kill of the rest of these idiots." Caius said turning to the other vampires who had completely destroyed Malcom's body.
They all responded, attacking the last of the crowd of students. I couldn't stop myself from watching, even though I was getting more and more nauseous.
Blood, body parts and screams of pain. This scene would haunt me for the rest of my life. Morgan was the only one alive at this point. But she was in bad shape.
Tristian was furious, he took a few steps forward; towards Cauis. "Let Morgan go, you've killed enough innocent people."
Cauis smiled for a moment, before locking his sights over to where I stood. "I'll let her go, if you give Isabella to me."
Edward and Demetri growled, instantly they both came over to block me from sight. I jumped at how close they both where now.
"You back the fuck off." Demetri growled, in a protective crouch. "If you touch her... you are dead."
"Even though your little whore is now pregnant with Cullen's child? You would still protect her?" Caius laughed, taking his and stomping down hard on Morgan's hand.
Morgan screamed in agony, lifting her head to reveal the blood still pouring from her empty eye socket.
"Leave her alone!" Tristian yelled at him, looking furious.
Rose grabbed hold of him, whispering something to him, which seemed to calm him down enough to take a few steps back.
"Shut your goddamn mouth, you don't know a fucking thing Caius." Demetri snapped at him. "You think you're so tough killing these weak humans. Why don't you fight us?"
No... none of them were strong enough to take on Caius. It was a death sentence. With Caius and his group of henchmen, there wasn't a chance.
"You are quite a hippacrit my dear brother. It seems that you forgot it wasn't long ago you and I were out slaughtering groups of people twice this size." Caius smirked at him. "Come, why don't you return to me. I'll forget of your traitous ways. Fight by my side again."
Demetri paused with a dark look coming to his face, but he glanced behind his shoulder, making eye contact with me.
"You never planning on taking me back... I knew that." He said lowly, pain entering his expression.
My heart sunk in my chest. "How could I... all the things you have done to me... and to Darius... how could I ever let you back into our lives."
Demetri turned away from me, now looking to Caius. "Hear that? I had a chance of being happy... and having a family. But I fucked that up. That's something I'll have to live with. I'm not going to make things worse for her. Or my kid. I'm going to do the right thing... for the first time in my life... and choose to be the good guy."
With that, he went racing towards Caius.
"Demetri No!" I yelled, watching in agony as he tackled Caius to the ground in a loud crash.
But in a flash I felt arms come around me and the world moving around me in a blur. I screamed in fear as I heard glass break around me and the crisp air hit my skin.
I was outside now. The sun light blinded me, I couldn't see who had a hold of me until I felt my body getting placed into a car. In seconds I was buckled into the seat and I heard more yelling.
"Bella, shh, it's going to be ok. We are getting you out of here." Edward's voice was right next to me.
I let out a big breath. "Edward, what about Avery? And the others?"
"Avery is here with us, Rose and Tristian is helping Demetri fight off Caius and his newborns." He explained, getting into the driver's seat and speeding off out of the parking lot.
I looked back, to see Avery sitting in the back seat, sobbing.
"I-I can't believe they are gone... they are all gone." She stuttered, her face completely red. "It should have been me."
"Don't talk like that," I frowned at her, reaching my hand out to her.
She took my hand still crying quietly. "Oh, Bella... I'm so sorry... Demetri... he... well... I think he was the one... who."
I held up my other hand, stopping her from speaking any further about it. I wasn't ready to hear the words coming from her.
"I had a feeling... just... don't worry about that now... let's just get out of here alive first." I sighed, looking to Edward. "Where are we going?"
"Out of Alaska, we need to get you as far away from here as possible." Edward said looking tense.
"What about Stephany? And Morgan?" Avery whimpered.
"They will do their best to save everyone in that room. They will be calling when they escape." Edward said, glancing at me. "Alice took Darius, they are meeting us at Charlie and Rene's place."
My eyes widened. "There is no way they are going to be alright just picking everything up and leaving."
"We are going to have to tell them the truth Bella... we can't leave them behind... they will be in danger... it's up to you." He said with a tightened jaw.
Everything was happening so quickly, I didn't have a chance to even think about the situation completely.
"Okay, okay... we'll tell them everything..." I sighed, feeling overwhelmed.
Edward lightly stroked my face. "I'm sorry my love... I just can't think of another way to do this."
I nodded, looking over to him, feeling a brief moment of confidence. "No, I understand... let's just... hope that everything works out..."
I was full of anxiety, I couldn't think of anything but what I was about to do. I would be telling Charlie and Rene about vampires.
How would they react?
I wasn't even sure how I could begin to explain. What if they didn't believe me? And even worse... what if they did believe me... but was to afraid to leave?
The moment we pulled into Charlie and Rene's place, Edward went flying up to the house without a word.
"Edward?!" I called after him, my heart dropping.
But he was already gone.
I looked to Avery now. "Stay here please."
"Ok, just... just please hurry back... I don't want to be alone right now." She whimpered, her eyes still watering.
I nodded to her and quickly followed after Edward.
The second I reached the door; which was already open I gasped in horror to see Charlie on the ground. He had his hand over his neck; blood was rolling down over his hand.
Rene had little Greg and was in the corner of the room. She was sobbing, Greg was crying... blood was splattered around the room. And Edward had a hold of a vampire; that had blood on his mouth.
No doubt it was one of Caius' henchmen.
"Bella... look away..." Edward said, glaring coldly towards the vampire he had by the neck. "I don't want you to see me... like this."
I did as he said and quickly moved to Charlie.
"Dad... dad... are you ok? Please tell me you're ok." I cried, trying to move him into an upright position.
He cough, causing blood to fly out of his mouth. It didn't seem like he could speak. And sudden, his entire began to tremble. His other hand; the one that wasn't holding his neck, moved to his chest. His breathing became fast and labored. In seconds he fell over onto his back.
"Edward... help him... please help him." I sobbed, looking over to Edward. "Anything... do anything... just keep him alive."
Rene was now at my side as well, watching Charlie with wide eyes. She put her hand to his neck; feeling for his pulse.
"He doesn't have much longer... his pulse is getting slower and slower." She cried, looking between me and Edward. "He needs medical attention right now."
"Unfortunately... he won't survive... unless we do something now..." Edward said watching Rene with a serious expression. "I could... save him... he could live on... but not the way you know him now."
Rene shook her head. "I don't know what you mean... but I don't care. I just want my husband alive. Please... help him." She begged.
Edward nodded, quickly moving to Charlie. He didn't hesitate to bite into Charlie. He bite into his wrists, his neck, his legs. Venom was running through Charlie now. It was only seconds, when Charlie gasped, yelling out in agony.
Rene again felt his pulse, relief coming to her expression. "His pulse is getting stronger. I don't know what you did... but it seemed to help him... a lot."
"Mom... what Edward did... well... yes he saved his life... but dad isn't going to be the same after this..." I said lightly touching her shoulder.
"What does that mean?" She asked, taking Charlie's hand in her's.
"That man that attacked you. He wasn't human. He was a vampire." Edward said slowly.
Rene raised a brow, watching between us skeptically. "That man was a insane... he just busted the door down... he attacked Charlie... he... he bit him..." Her eyes widened. "He bit him... oh god"
Edward sighed, guilt clouding his eyes. "I'm so sorry Rene... But... in a few days... Charlie will be a vampire as well."
Rene looked towards Charlie with sorrow. "No... what have I done..." Tears rolled down her cheeks. "I..." She was about to speak, but suddenly she slumped over.
"Mom!?" I quickly went over to her.
"She passed out... it was all... to much for her to take." Edward said moving to lift up Charlie and Rene both. "This will be an ideal time to get the both of them to safety.
I nodded. "Yeah you're right." I said moving to little Greg and taking him. "Let's get out of here... before more of Caius' goons come back to finish the job."
As Edward and I got out of the house I watched as Alice's car come peeling into the driveway. "I'll take them with me... Darius wants to go with you." She said with urgency in her voice.
Edward walked Charlie and Rene to Alice's car and put them carefully into the backseat.
I handed little Greg over to Alice, wiping the tears from my eyes. "Please keep them safe."
"I will guard them with my life." Alice said with a small smile. "This is all going to work out Bella. I promise."
Darius quickly came running over to me, embracing me. "Thank god you are alright." He said, his eyes were red; as if he had been crying.
"Of course, I'm just glad you are ok." I said holding him close as I lead him to Edward's car.
"How is dad? Is he...?" Darius started, a hard look coming to his face. "I mean... is he alive?"
I shook my head slowly. "I don't know... we'll find out more information once we get everyone somewhere safe. For now, let's just get out of here." I said getting my son into the backseat.
He nodded, glancing over to Avery. "Hello... Are you... a friend of my dad's"
Avery looked at him with fear in her eyes. "Your dad?"
"Yeah... erhm ... Demetri..." Darius spoke of his father with distaste in his mouth.
As I got into the car I gave Darious a look. "Why would you ask that?"
Darius blushed, looking away from Avery now. "Sorry... she just... kind smelled like him..."
Avery covered her mouth, looking shocked and worried. "I ... no... I'm not friends with your dad... he has actually... done some awful things to me." She admitted.
Darius winced, looking back to Avery. "I'm sorry... about that. He is a monster... a heartless... evil monster." He muttered, looking away from her again.
Edward had just a small chat with Alice, before he got back into the car and began down the road again. I wasn't sure where we were going now. And I didn't care.
Everything was a mess. Things just kept getting worse. First finding out Demetri raped Avery, then Caius showing up... and slaughtering the whole school... and now Charlie was going to become a vampire...
This was the worst day of my life. And I was ready for it to be over. I wasn't sure how much more I could take.
I rested my head back on the seat and closed my eyes; feeling exhausted. But I knew there was no way that I could fall asleep. Every time I closed my eyes for to long because I kept seeing the imagines of my classmates lying in a puddle of blood... their scream... Morgan...
This was a complete nightmare... I wished that I could wake up from. But I knew I couldn't. Rosalie had been right. I should have just left school for the day. Maybe none of this would have happened.
Whew, that was a rough chapter to write. I hope you all enjoyed it! Let me know what you all think.
