Another night with the three.
the three of us 4

It was a long, tiring day and all she wanted was dinner and a quiet night in with her two loves. She'd already texted them when she left L Corp building, though the traffic was pretty awful for the time of the evening.
She could hear the sounds of something blown up from the living room and headed that way as soon as she slipped off her coat and heels. Lena took a moment for herself to breathe and let her feet slipped into a pair of soft slippers. A simple cream-color knitted room shoes she picked up from Uniqlo on one of her work trips to Japan, there were two others that were no doubt on the feet of their respective owners right now. Her collection of heels sat next to a pair of combat boots and several pairs of leather slip on. The sight brought a smile to her face. The fact that she had to get rid of some of her heels to make room for those shoes wasn't even a blip in her raidar. And if push came to shove, she could always get a bigger place with bigger shoe rack.
On the very edge of the shoes cabinet were several more pairs of comfortable room shoes she picked up after that particular trip, where her two precious Danvers 'drop in' on her trip and dragged her out for some shopping.
Needless to say, they both spent sizable amount of money on small Gashapon toys - one or two ended up on her desk at L Corp somehow- but at least Lena only had to pack the bigger pieces back with her at the end of the trip and not the entire lot of them. She still didn't know how a Q Posket Supergirl appeared on her desk one day with no one admitted to, but she let it stayed. Alex promised that she would get some custom one made of herself, cause it was just unfair.
There were other things, too. Like keyboard, and even though she didn't quite care what kind of keyboard she was using herself - and often just use whatever came with her laptop, Alex insisted that she tried a few of the mechanical ones. And she had to bring back a few of the 60% and 75% ones for the older Danvers on her way back. Kara complained mildly that the clicking and clacking got loud sometimes. She also picked up some fountain pens that she'd always wanted, but never found it in her budget to get one.
Lena recalled fondly of that they, the three of them in front of that one particular pen, and Alex was practically drooling over it. It was a beautiful pen. Still the older Danvers backed away, citing how it was a hell of a lot over her budget, that she was more than happy to be able to touch it once. Lena couldn't have that, so she bought it, amidst the protests.
Another boom reached her ears and she laughed, wondering how Alex won the argument to watch any action flick. Kara was never one to watch things got blown up as entertainment. So they normally would end up with some rom-com or something and occasional horror movies. Lately, Alex made it a point to find some weird, obscure foreign horror movies for them, to Kara pouting and puppy dog whine.
She really didn't know why they watch this in the living room, really, they did have a rather top of the line, state of the art entertainment room that was set up by Winn with all the bells and whistles that anyone could want.
"Hey," Kara was the first to look her way when she came close to them, she probably heard her the moment the elevator ding, and got up from Alex's lap while Alex only smiled at her and reached out with one hand.
Lena smiled at the sight of a pair of fuzzy grey slippers on Alex's feet that she rested on top of the coffee table. "Hello," her smile widened and leaned over the back of the couch, a raise hand hooked the back of her neck and pulled her down for a kiss. Then Kara hopped up on the couch, and pulled her down with them before she could even let out a yelp.
"Welcome home." Kara's bright smile was next, and she smothered her red lips with kisses.
Another sound of explosion boomed in the room and their Kryptonian cringed. Alex laughed.
"Dinner?"
"Yes!" Kara hopped up, with Lena in her arms still, and raced to the kitchen. She'd been waiting for the CEO to get home so they could eat dinner. There's no better distraction for the Kryptonian than food. Lena's personal chef left their dinner warm in the oven, but being a Kryptonian with superior senses, Kara had been smelling the food ever since it was finished, so she'd been looking forward to it. At least there were numerous snacks that Alex stocked up for her. Or she'd be starved.
"Kara!" Lena exclaimed with a giggle. "Put me down, please."
Dinner was excellent as always. It was one of her best ideas to hire a chef for them. Since none of them had enough time to be cooking a healthy meal often, which was why the other two relied so much on take out. They once left the stove on because of Alien emergency, it was a good thing that Kara had super speed and took a quick u-turn to come back and turn it off before anything happened.
Kara spent the first five minutes or so stuffing her face, and let Alex asked about Lena's day. She was starving, she couldn't help it. The other two didn't mind it, knowing that Kara needed fuel like fighter jet, and so they let her take the edge off, as it were.
"Finally, I thought you weren't gonna come up for air." Alex teased when she noticed Kara looking up from her plate.
Lena giggled into her wine glass.
"Do you want another steak?" Lena asked, finally, after the other two bickered for a while. She watched them tried to sneak food off of each other's plate, Kara was the most successful one out of the two. Neither tried for her plate, however, and she knew that they thought she needed to eat more. But she has a desk job, which meant she was sitting for most of her work day, she could not be eating the way the other two did.
"Nah, I got Alex's." Kara grinned, her fork a blur.
"Brat." Danvers the older muttered, she couldn't smack the hand away since she couldn't see it, but the piece of steak she'd just cut was definitely missing.
Lena laughed and cut her own piece before transferred it over to Alex's plate. Her pout was too adorable for her to do anything else.
"So, how did she talked you into watching this," with a gesture at the explosion on a large TV screen Lena asked the youngest Danvers, finding her cringing again at a loud sound.
"I promised her she can choose the movie." Another cringe, "I'm regretting that."
They settled back on the couch after dinner to continue with the movie. With Alex stretched out in the corner of the L shape couch, Lena rested against her and her feet up in Kara's lap, her perfect evening, being with her two Danvers'.
"Sush, you," a pillow wacked their Kryptonian over the head.
Lena smirked, but both of them knew full well that there was no way Kara would try to get out of that promise. Alex normally gave in if either of them really want, or didn't want to do something, she indulged them, and in return, they indulged her whenever she wanted something.
Like watching The Avengers.
Kara didn't really like these action film, she would much prefer adventure film, less explosions that way. Since these things were their normal day to day operations anyway. With bombs and aliens and general destructions by the villains they faced. So, she didn't feel the need for them in her entertainment as well. But Alex did, so on occasions she would sit through them to make her happy.
Better than the horror movies she's been watching, Kara lamented to herself. The original Shutter in Thai still freaked her out, while the acting itself wasn't what she was used to, and little nuances and details that needed some research to understand, at first watch - there would never be a second watch, Kara promised herself, there was a creepiness, and an extra something to the feel of it that she didn't feel from the US remake. But that just freaked her out more. For over a month after the viewing she stayed away from people with hunched shoulders at all cost. The imaged of the guy with ghost riding on his shoulder stuck in her head. It gave her nightmares. And when anyone in her vicinity started massaging their shoulder the image crept up in her head and she freaked out all over again.
Alex made fun of her for days after, gently teasing her, and to an extent, Lena since the movie freaked the both of them out. Lena was just better at hiding it. They got even later, of course, when she woke up in the morning with the both of them piling onto her during the night. After that she complained that she had a dream she was being smothered by two large bears.
That made Lena pout, and Kara whine.
Lena giggled at another cringe, at this point she knew that Kara was just pulling Alex's chain, since there was no more explosion on the screen. She didn't really pay any attention to the movie, and the Danvers duo was kind enough to lower the volume, from ear splitting loud to just loud for her. So, she immersed herself in her guilty read.
Then suddenly it went quiet, and Lena looked up to see their resident Kryptonian with tears on her cheeks. What on earth…
She looked back and found Alex sitting strangely quiet, eyes stared resolutely forward, so she looked at what was on the screen.
Oh no.
"Kar…" Alex pressed kisses on top of the blonde head in apology. She didn't think the movie was going to affect her like this, actually she didn't think Kara was going to sit through the movie with her. Assuming that once Lena got home, they would both bug her until she change the movie to something else more their speed. Some rom-com or something.
Well, now she felt bad.
Lena, who was squished in between them once their little Kryptonian leaped across the short span of the couch to get to Alex's arm and started crying reached up with her free hand to pat her back. Kara pressed tighter.
And Alex came to her rescue, with one arm and more strength than any mere human had any right to have, she tugged Lena across her lap so that she was in the middle instead. Now the two of them had to console their Kryptonian.
It took almost ten minutes.
"I didn't know that you didn't know." Alex said after the crying tapered off into hitching breaths. "I mean it's been out for a while and people spoiled it to hell already."
Kara pouted and sniffed, and rubbed her tears off on Alex's t-shirt.
"I'm sorry baby." Alex kissed her, snot and all.
Lena herself hadn't seen the movie, either. She did get the invitation for the screening, but was too busy, and neither of the Danvers' were interested in going if she wasn't. Besides, while they were not hiding from anyone and talked about it, they weren't interested in blasting their relationship in public either, with their respective jobs, it was best that they were out of the limelight. As for Lena herself, sometimes being in the public eye was inevitable.
It was a good thing that the all three of them were very much homebodies.
They all worked so much and they just wanted to spend time together and relax for the most part. Well, with occasional shopping trips sprinkled in there, too.
With a sigh, she rubbed Kara's cheek and snuggled into Alex. She didn't even realize that the movie was no longer playing once they all settled back and their little Kryptonian stopped crying. She was still whimpering about dead of the character all the way to the bathroom.
"I really didn't know that she didn't know," Alex sighed, and leaned down to nuzzled the CEO. "We interrupted your bodice ripper novel, didn't we?" Lena rolled her eyes at the suggestive wiggle of one shapely brow, and smacked her shoulder.
