Chapter 37
With Elena coming with them for a while, the group are heading back to the Hammerlocke. During the way, Dawn captures a Rotom after it tries to play pranks of Dawn's hair, after Dawn goes to clean her hair, Elena asks, "What's wrong with her?"
Ash says, "Oh, don't worry, she is just afraid of that hair style because it reminds her of the childhood bullying due to the hair."
"I see." Alice says.
Then Lillie captures a Ditto after it changes into Snowy, much to her surprise, but she manages to find the real one and tosses the Pokeball successfully. As for Gloria, she finds a Deino and she decides to capture it with the help of Whimsicott, and Alice captures a Jangmo-O with the help of her Alcremie.
Then Ash notices a Pokemon looking creepy at him, he asks, "What is that Pokemon?"
"Oh, that is a Dreepy, it is rare and it likes to be at Lake of Outrage." Elena says. "And it is a Ghost Type Persuado Legendary for this region."
"Wait, this one is the Persuado Legendary? It doesn't seem like it..." Lillie says.
"Talk about it, Goomy, Gible are for me the first impressions of the Persuado Legendary as well." Ash sighs as he uses Goodra to capture the Pokemon.
Dreepy: The Lingering Pokemon: Dragon and Ghost Type. After being reborn as a ghost Pokémon, Dreepy wanders the areas it used to inhabit back when it was alive in prehistoric seas.
"So it is a speedy one, I see." Ash says after petting the Pokemon. "I think this Pokemon maybe good to train."
"You're right." Marnie says.
After getting to the Hammerlocke, they see Sonia there. "Sonia?" Ash asks.
"Heya, the badge collecting going well?" Sonia asks.
"You bet, we all have 12 badges." Gloria says. "What about you?"
"I've been doing some research on the ruins in Stow-on-Side...The Sword and Shield...What kind of Pokemon are they? And where are they now? I still have so many questions, I was thinking about taking another look at the tapestries in-"
Just then, they hear an explosion and they turn around. "Are you kidding me... What's that?!" Sonia says.
Elena mutters, "The Hammerlocke Stadium shook...That's where my Dad's power plant is..."
Sonia's phone vibrates as she checks it out, she says, "Huh? A Power Spot?!"
"What's going on?" Ash asks.
"This Power Spot Detector reacts when it's possible to Dynamax...but why now..." Sonia asks.
Then Leon rushes to them with Delia. "Hey guys, you felt the shaking, right?" Leon asks.
"Yeah, what's going on?" Ash asks.
"Seems like my husband and Chairman Rose is testing something again." Delia says.
"This is bad! Pokemon might start Dynamaxing right in the middle of Hammerlocke!" Sonia says.
Elena says, "Then I'll go to make sure Dad knows." Leon says, "We'll come as well, right? Sonia? Ms. Ketchum?"
"Of course." Delia turns to the seven, "Don't worry about it, we will have it covered." Ash and the group nods as they leave.
"So now Elena has left us again." Serena sighs.
"Yeah." Ash says, but then they hear Hop calling for them.
"Hop, what's going on?" Ash asks.
"You know, first that forest, then that mad quiz and the music reminding...and then to shop for battle items...I've been lost in every sense of the world! But it looks like I've finally caught up to you again." Hop says, "Come with me to Route 7! I could use a bit of competition to motivate me."
"Sure." Ash says as they all go to the Route 7. But this time Hop wants to try battle Alice even though she isn't the one to compete the league. Alice agrees and she battles him.
"You know I've got to keep on trying different strategies if I'm gonna get strong enough to catch up to Lee...No! Not just catch up! If I want to surpass him! So I think you know what's coming. Let me try out my latest in a battle against you."
He sends out a Trevenant, Alice says, "You have a Ghost type?"
"Of course, it's time for me to test exactly how far I can go with my latest and greatest team." Hop says.
Alice sends out Morgrem to battle, and Morgrem defeats Trevenant with the Dark Pulse, Hop sends out Snorlax next, and then Morgrem is defeated with Body Slam, so Alice sends out Jangmo-O. Jangmo-o defeats Snorlax even though it is small, but its Double Kick hurts a lot. Heatmor is next and then it defeats Jangmo-O even though the Fire Attacks aren't effective to it. So Alice sends her ace Inteleon and uses the Snipe Shot to defeat it. The fourth Pokemon is Boltund, it uses Thunderbolt to defeat it, so Alice sends out Dugtrio to battle. And Dugtrio's Ground Type advantage defeats Boltund, but in the end, it is defeated by Rillaboom. So Alice uses Centiskorch to defeat the Rillaboom.
"This is rubbish...My team cant perform if I can't get my own head straight as their Trainer..." Hop groans.
"But you did battle well." Alice says. "I was just lucky."
Hop sighs and says, "Before we ever started out on this journey...I remember watching Lee on the telly. He was like a bright star, so strong I could hardly bear to look right at him. But now, I can tell just how strong he really is...And what he's got that I haven't..."
He turns to everyone and says, "But I am getting stronger, too. Maybe not as fast as you guys are, but fine. Whatever! Thank you for letting me battle you, Alice."
"No problem." Alice says.
"I think I know what it is I really want...I want to battle Lee-I want to take on my bro. But not just that, I want to beat him. I want to be the one who beats the unbeatable Champion! And I am going to! My mind has made up! Ash, you and me are going to have another battle once I get my Gym Badge in Circhester!"
"Oh, that is the fifteenth gym, so we will battle after 3 gyms, huh?" Ash says as he nods, then he leaves.
Dawn says, "Still, I am a little worried about your parents..."
Ash says, "I am sure that they will be fine, of course." Then they go to the Route 7.
When they are walking on the route, Alice is suddenly blasted by Ink. "Eww...who does it?"
Ash helps her cleaning the face, then they see an Inkay. Serena says, "So there is an Inkay on this route..."
Marnie says, "There is. I remembered I captured one on this route back then."
Alice then decides to capture it with the help of her Greedent, and it is a success after it sprays the berry juice on the Pokemon.
And then Serena trains her Binacle on the route and she evolves it into a Barbaracle after finding three more Binacle in the wild. "That is actually weird." Dawn says.
"I don't think so after seeing Meltan evolving into Melmetal." Lillie says.
Ash also evolves his Carkoal after defeating some Perrserkers on the way.
Coalossal: The Coal Pokemon: Rock and Fire Type. Evolved from Carkol at LV:34. It's usually peaceful, but the vandalism of mines enrages it. Offenders will be incinerated with flames that reach 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit.
"It can also Gigantamax as well." Gloria says. "That is really cool."
"I know." Ash says.
And then Ash and Marnie are training with their Scraggy and they evolve into Scrafty, then they also notice a Pokemon. "A wild Morpeko?" Ash asks.
"I remembered...this is the place where Morpeko and I meet." Morpeko nods in agreement and a female Morpeko suddenly hugs it.
Morpeko seems to know the Pokemon, after asking, they realize that the female Morpeko is Marnie's sister. And after hearing the travels, Morpeko decides to travel with them, Ash captures it since from her opinion, he is the closet to Marnie.
Morpeko: The Two-Sided Pokemon: Electric and Dark Type. As it eats the seeds stored up in its pocket-like pouches, this Pokémon is not just satisfying its constant hunger. It's also generating electricity.
After letting the Morpeko out of the Pokeball so that the two siblings can talk to each other, they head towards the Glaglider Town.
