Demetri's Point of View
That stupid idiot. What a moron. What an absolute fool.
If he wouldn't have gotten in the way, I could have ended all of this. I almost had Caius. But because of Tristian, he was able to get away. Sure, we killed off the rest of his Dawn Guard scum, but if we didn't get him... he would only rebuild his army bigger and better. We were lucky that the loser that he turned didn't have an unquie abilities... or our causalties would have been much greater.
I marched myself over to where Tristain and Rose where. Tristan had got only miner injuries. He was lucky. A second later and Caius would have lit the match and torched him.
"Demetri..." Tristian muttered, looking up to me with a relieved smile.
I glared at him coldly and smacked him hard across the face. "You're an asshole. You know that?" I snapped at him.
Tristian winced, rubbing his face.
"Hey, if anyone is an asshole it's you." Rose growled at me, going to Tristian to lightly hold him close. "He saved your worthless life."
"Maybe," I allowed, before turning my back on him. "But he also prevented me from finishing off Caius for good. My family's safety is more important."
"Family?" Rose repeated with a skeptic glance at me. "What family are you talking about?"
Pain pinched in my chest at her words, but I ignored her. I knew that I would never get along with that blonde bitch, it was pointless to try and talk with her.
"I'm sorry Demetri... I just... I know if something was to happen to you... it would have broken Bella's heart... Bella and Darious both."
"That's not true and you know it." I sighed, turning to only look at Tristian. "I've given up on that hope Tristian... you seen her... how happy she is with Cullen... and their baby."
"That doesn't change the fact that she cares for you." Tristian said with a shrug. "Even if the two of you don't see it now... It's true..."
I couldn't help but hold onto his words. It gave me enough hope and strength to keep going. There was still a lot to do. We had to make sure that Caius can't track Bella and Darius down.
"We need to get moving, I can track Caius if we move quickly." I muttered, glancing between the two of them. "Unless you two are to afraid." I taunted.
"No one if afraid here, but we need to meet up with Carlisle and the Denali's. They have a plan set in motion. We need to send more protection towards the location Edward is taking Bella." Rose sneered at me.
"Plus, we need to get Morgan somewhere safe..." Tristian said, looking down at the pathetic human curled into his arms. "She should be indoors... out of this weather."
Rose watched between them, saddness in her eyes.
Her pain made me feel better. "Looks like you still really care about this human." I said with an innocent smile. "It must have been hard seeing her getting hurt like that."
Tristian looked at me with a raised brow. "Knock it off Demetri."
Of course he saw right through me. He knew I just wanted to get a reaction out of the blonde bitch. But I did find it interesting that he didn't answer my question.
Maybe he was still harboring feelings for this human.
In that case, I would protect the girl at all costs. Those who were important to Tristian, where important to me. Except blondie. She was on her own.
"Well, let's go than. Let's get her to the others." I sighed, walking out of the doors of the school.
The school was completely silent, all the cars in the parking lot was still there... it was like a huge silent grave. I pitied the responders that had to step foot into the cafeteria. Sure, there were dead bodies in every room, every hall... even all the teacher perished here... But when they see all those kids slaughtered... all their organs...their limbs thrown around... it was enough to haunt the dreams of the toughest person.
Even I was disturbed... and killing was a sport to me.
What Caius did... it was cruel and evil. And he would pay for the lives that he took today. I would make sure of that. I just hoped that Bella didn't see all of that.
We where almost able to save the one other vampire. Stephany. But the moment her boy toys died... it looked like she had given up the will to go on. The newborns ripped into her and burned her to ashes.
I couldn't believe we were able to save anyone. Morgan was lucky that Tristian cared enough for her to turn her. He hasn't been able to let her go since we were ablel to escape.
Tristian carried Morgan as the three of us ran towards Carlisle's house. Know doubt he would be there waiting for us. It didn't take us very long thankfully.
"Carlisle, I could use your help!" Tristian called out, as he laid Morgan gently down on the couch.
Carlisle entered the room in seconds, his eyes scanning over Morgan. "Alice had filled me in on everything... this is the girl that lost her eye... is that correct?"
"Yeah, poor fool." I sighed, shaking my head. "She should have stayed back with Bella and that Avery girl."
At the mention of Avery, I felt my body freeze.
Shit.
I completely forgot.
That girl was suppose to be dead. That night... she shouldn't have been able to survive. I nearly drained every drop of her blood. If someone hadn't heard the commotion I could have made sure I finished her off.
After speaking with Alice... after the whole school incident I found out that little... girl... was carrying my child.
My heart throbbed in my chest; making me sink slowly to the ground. I sat there, staring out into space.
I was such an idiot.
As far as I knew only Alice was aware of this. But if Bella finds out... this was going to really hurt her. I truly have become the monster that she never wanted me to become. I was no better than Aro.
The thought enraged me and disgusted me.
I had to do better. For this other girl... and my second child. I had to do better for them. I couldn't let another oppurtunity to lose out on being a father and having a family. I had to find them.
"I... I didn't know how to help her... the only option that I could think of... was turning her." Tristian sighed deeply. "I know she is going to absolutely hate me... because of my selfish choice... but I just... couldn't let her die."
I recalled from previous conversations with Tristian... that this had been the reason that they broke up. He wanted her to eventually turn into a vampire... so they could always be together. But she refused. She wanted a boring, short, human life. They both agreed that they wanted something different, so they split up.
Morgan believed that she could never be happy as a vampire. But now she didn't have a choice in the matter. And now Tristian got what he wanted, but he was now commited to another woman.
What would he do now?
Rose turned away, appearing bothered. No one even noticed that she quietly left the room.
"Did you... manage to save her eye? If we are quick... we can manage to save her eyes." Carlisle said, watching between Tristian and Morgan.
Tristian's expression turned sad. "No... I couldn't manage to find her eye... everything happened so quickly... I didn't even think of retrieving it."
Carlisle nodded, patting his shoulder. "Don't feel bad, you did everything you could for her. Her transition looks to be going smoothly, we just need to keep her safe and comfortable."
It was quiet between them only for a moment, before Tristian sighed. "Would it work... if she had someone else's eye? Or does it have to be her's?"
Carlisle raised his brow. "I don't know... it could possibly work...but I've never tried something like that."
"Could we try... with my eye?" Tristian asked with a serious look coming to his face.
I looked at him. "Are you serious? You want to give her... your eye?"
He nodded, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a dagger. "I've enhanced this weapon to the absolute maxium of my abilities... It will cut through my flesh like butter."
"Damn," I chuckled, feeling a smile come to my face. "You do love her... don't you?"
Tristian gave me a look. "It's not like that... I was the one who turned her... I cursed her to a life that she wanted no part of... I owe her this much."
"If you... are sure about this... I'll give it a try... But I can't guarentee that it will work." Carlisle said with a sad look.
"I'm sure," Tristian said and with a quick slash I watched as he cut his eye out of the socket. It must have really hurt, because he instantly dropped the dagger and clutched his eye with a loud scream.
"Son of a ..." Tristian growled, with a glare. But he held his hand out, for Carlisle to snatch his eye. "I just... hope this works."
Carlisle quickly went to work attaching Tristian's eye to Morgan. It was fast and truly looked pretty good. Now we just had to wait and see if it would work.
"Hey, if I ever lose my eye in battle, can I have the other." I teased him.
Tristian chuckled, giving me an elbow in the ribs. "Not a chance."
"Worth the try." I shrugged my shoulders, before turning back to Carlisle. "Well, now that we are done putting the human back together, can we get this plan of yours into action. I have someone I need to see."
Carlisle wiped his bloodied hand with a cloth, letting out a long sigh. "Of course, the Denali's are on their way. We are going to split up and try to find Caius. With the each power, we should be able to corner him and take him down easily."
"Unless he has another army waiting on stand by. I wouldn't put it past him. I've fought along side him for years. He usually has several options. There is no doubt that he probably has more newborns ready to fight." I said, folding my arms across his chest.
"Are you suggesting that we need... to create an army as well?" Carlisle wondered.
"If that's possible. Yes. You have a bunch of friends... I suggest that you make some phone calls... quickly. I'm sure everyone will want to help... he is the last remaining Volturi. As long as he is alive... the Volturi will aways be a threat to everyone." I said with a frown.
"He's right." Tristian muttered, wiping at his eye socket.
Carlisle handed him a gauze bandage to cover his eyes with. "I'll start making calls. But for now, we need to start locating Caius' location."
Tristian chewed his lip, looking uncomfortable as he placed his bandage. "I was thinking... maybe... I mean... I'm not scared or anything... but I'm worried..."
"You want to stay behind with Morgan, to make sure she is okay." I said patting his shoulder. "That's completely fine, I'll be able to track Caius down easier without you getting in the way."
Tristian gave me a slight smile. "I appreciate that Demetri... thanks for that."
Rose entered the room now, not making eye contact with Tristian.
"I'll come along with you. There is no way that I'm sticking around here while Caius is out there hurting innocent people." She said giving me a cold glare.
"I don't want you to come with me." I said folding my arms across my chest. "You're to annoying and will only slow me down."
She hissed lowly at me. "I have to do something. I don't. want. to. be. here." She said each word with growing hostility.
Tristian glancing over to her with guilt on his face. He must have realized that; what Rose was trying to say, is she didn't want anywhere near him.
"Why don't you meet up with Bella? Don't you want to help protect her baby? And my kid?" I spat back at her.
Rose's eyes lightened for a moment. "That's true... I do miss them... and it would only add to their protection if I met up with them."
I nodded, feeling relieved that I talked her into that choice. "Even better, that Avery girl that's with them... turns out... she is pregnant as well."
Rose's eyes widened. "What?"
Carlisle spoke up now with a suspicious look. "And how did you find that out?"
Each other them looked at me with curiosity.
"Well... it wasn't intentional... I kinda... got her pregnant." I muttered.
To my surprise, it was Tristian that was the first one to speak up.
"You asshole." He grumbled, punching my shoulder. "Wasn't messing with Bella's life enough for you?"
"Hey!" I frowned at him, suprised by how upset he was getting.
Tristian usually never got angry with me, but he genuinely almost appeared hurt by this piece of information that I shared with him.
"I thought you only had eyes for Bella? What happened to loyalty?" Tristian hissed.
"You're a fine one to talk." Rose muttered, glaring towards Tristian.
Tristian ignored Rose's comment, only looking in my direction.
"Look, like I said... it wasn't intentional... I had planned on killing her... I tried to. She was suppose to be dead. Don't you think I feel guilty enough? I know if Bella finds out this is going to hurt her. Believe me... I can't hate myself more than I already do."
Tristian only shaked his head, letting out a frustrated sigh. "I've been trying to talk with Bella and make her understand your feelings for her. But clearly I had know idea... who you actually are... you aren't in love with Bella... you are in love with the idea of having her... of owning her and using her..."
Maybe he was right.
I didn't know. I couldn't understand why I did the things that I did. I hoped that one day I would find that answer. But not today. Today I had a job to do. I needed to protect the people that I care about.
"Tristian. I made a selfish... damn right evil mistake... and I'll pay for that every day of my life. But I won't do wrong by this child. Or that Avery girl. I won't ruin her life the way I ruined Bella's. This is my chance to do things right." I said with a serious look.
Carlisle gave me a small smile. "I have faith in you... I believe everyone can find redemption... and change for the better. I hope that you find that."
Tristian loosened up as well, but still didn't offer much emotion towards me. "I hope you don't mess this up Demetri. I really don't. I can't keep standing around and watching you hurt innocent people. I can't support that kind of behavior."
"I understand... you have been... my best friend... and ... I will be different. You'll see." I said giving him a thumbs up. "Now, I'm out of here."
The sooner I got out there, the sooner I would find Caius. I would make sure that he would never find Bella and Avery.
Rose would be heading towards Bella now, they would have extra protection. And Tristian would be staying with Morgan.
Things weren't ideal at this time, but it would do for now.

Bella's Point of View
I had always loved the beauty and scerenity of Ancourage Alaska, but I had to admit the remote paradise of Stewart Island, had a unique charm all of its own. Is was located twenty miles off the south coast of New Zealand. Its rugged landscapes and crystal clear waters where incredible. Not to mention the population of this town was under four hundred people.
Needless to say, we quickly constructed our own private housing on fifty acres of wilderness. Alice single handedly designed and constructed homes for each of us. And in record speed.
Charlie, Rene and little Greg had the home closest to the lakes. Each and every day I watched Charlie go out to fish and hunt; like he usually did as a human. He had surprisingly had taken the news of his transformation better than expected.
Don't get me wrong, at first he was miserable, anger, confused. I thought for a moment he was going to leave... go off on his own and find a way to end his life. But once he began to get better at his self control... and could finally hold Greg without worrying about hurting him... he almost returned completely to his old self.
Some days he struggled, but Rene was there to remind him that he was loved and supported. She was a pillar of strength for her. I had been concerned that this might have ruined their relationship, but it only seemed to make them stronger.
Alice also constructed our home about a mile away from Charlie and Rene's house. It was just far enough away that we had significant privacy.
I loved the house she made for Edward, Darius and I... I just wished that it was a little smaller and a little more simple. But she made a good point. She had told me that I would need the space with the new baby quickly on it's way. It's only been two months since we have left Alaska and I already looked to be about six months along.
I was absolutely huge. Edward had to help me do everything, even things as simple as putting my shoes on. I could no longer see my feet. But other than that, the pregnancy was going well. As long as I remembered to drink a few big cups of blood with each meal.
It seemed that this baby had a much bigger appetite than Darius had. But I tried to not let that worry me. Every pregnancy was different, right? Even vampire pregnancies.
Alice made a house that her and Rose shared together. Suprisingly, Rose had joined up with us only a week after we made it here to New Zealand. And even more surprising... Tristian didn't come with her.
I wondered what was going on between them, but I knew it wasn't my business. If Rose wanted to talk with me about it, than I'm sure she would have approached me. She hasn't yet, but I was hoping she would. I worry about her. She has been through a lot, just like the rest of us. First with Emmett and now things don't seem good with Tristian.
Alice had also taken the liberty to create small homes for both Jada, the young girl that Darius had turned and for Avery; who was pregnant with Demetri's child.
Avery had made the choice to stick with us, she had it in her mind that she couldn't return home. Not only because of Caius. But because she believed that her mother would just kick her out of the house. She's prefer to stay with us, where she feels the most save.
I made a point to spend as much time with her as I could. She was doing well... this was the happinest I've ever seen her. She was gaining her color back and a good amount of weight. Rose taught her to cook and made sure that she was drinking blood with each meal.
Avery and Rose had gotten very close, they were basically inseperable at this point. Most of the time Rose stayed in Avery's house and watched over her all hours of the day and night. It made Avery happy. Which is the only thing that mattered.
Darius was content as well, spending a lot of time fishing and hunting with Charlie and Edward. They began hunting every weekend for big game. Darius was truly enjoying the bonding time, not to mention he was beginning to enjoy living off of just animal blood. His consumption of human blood has drastically declined.
It didn't bother me, because once in a while, he would request for me to make something. He still was keen for pancakes, ice cream, sugary foods mostly.
I was beginning to finally feel like I've found my permanent home. I absolutely loved it here. The weather stayed at a decent tempature, there was sunlight; however our homes where so remote from the rest of the tiny town that everyone could simply walk around in the sun without worry of someone seeing them.
This was our safe haven. I was willing to fight to keep this home.
I had decided to sit out on the porch today, with a book in my hand, I let my mind wander. I glanced out to the yard; where Darius was attempting to teach little Greg to walk.
Avery sat across from me on the swing, her baby bump protruding. She smiled timidly as Rose lectured her on getting a better night's rest.
I sighed in content. It couldn't get much better.
"Bella, love, I got you some ice tea." Edward smiled as he came walking out of our home. He lightly handed me the drink.
I was wrong, it just got much better... now that Edward was here.
"Thank you," I said sipping the sweet tea. It was so thirst quenching. "You're to good to me."
Edward sat down next to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder, and letting his hand slowly stroke my stomach. "I'd do anything and everything to make you happy every day of your life." His lips touched mine with a soft tenderness that left me breathless.
Rose snorted, shaking her head. "Get a room," Her tone was gentle and teasing.
"Excuse me, isn't this our house, that you decided of your own will to come over and pester us?" Edward shot back with a chuckle.
"Well, there is no way I was going to take my eyes off Avery for a second. And Bella as well... she could be giving birth any day now. Look how big she is getting." Rose defended.
"Gee, thanks Rose," I laughed, letting my hand rest over Edward's. "But you're right, I'm getting huge. I don't think I was nearly this big when I had Darius."
I glanced back over to Darius, to see that he had Greg to his feet. But they still couldn't manage to get his legs to move. Greg could crawl perfectly fine, but he didn't gain the coordination to walk just yet. He was getting close though.
"I didn't mean anything bad by it." Rose said with a nervous smile. "I've always thought that a woman looks the most beautiful when she is carrying a child." Rose said looking between me and Avery.
Avery blushed, looking down at her bump. "Thanks for saying that. Most days I feel hideous... I've gained so much weight."
Rose wrapped an arm around Avery, pulling her close. "Don't think like that. You look great and much healthier."
Avery's face was getting more and more red the closer Rose got. "Rose..." She muttered, looking away from her.
I wasn't completely sure what was going on between Avery and Rose. But I didn't want to stick my nose into either one of their business. They both seemed happy, so who was I to question.
For a moment I felt a bunch of kicking in my stomach; which knocked the breath out of me.
Edward noticed and watched me closely. "Are you alright, is it the baby is kicking again?"
I nodded with a smile. "Yeah, I think the baby is just feeling a little cramped... there isn't much room in there."
"Does it hurt?" He asked with concern in his eyes.
I shook my head. "No, I'm fine." I took another big sip of my tea and tried to relax.
Rose was watching me closely. "If you need anything, don't be stubborn. Tell us Bella."
"I will... thanks." I said with a smile. "I just... I hope Carlisle comes around soon. I'd really like to have a better idea of how the baby is... and how much longer the wait is."
"He said he would make it here by the end of the week." Edward said kissing down my neck.
I let my eyes close, enjoying the feeling. "I just hope the baby can stay put until he gets here."
That was the only thing that I was worried about at this point... I mean there were other things I was concerned about.
Soon after we left Alaska Caius seemed to just disappear. Demetri couldn't find him. He has been searching for countless days and nights. But couldn't find a trace. I worried that he would find us here.
But Carlisle has been getting in contact with a bunch of his friends. The same ones that showed up to take down the Volturi when I was imprisioned in Italy. I had confidence that they could do it again. Especially now that the only threat was Caius.
I was put to ease for the moment. I just hoped that everything would turn out alright.
A pretty simple chapter. Hope you enjoyed it.
