There are so many reasons why that's shouldn't have worked
The days had been unusually slow the past week. No world ending disasters, no mad genius trying to take over the city, just petty crimes that were best left to the legal jurisdiction of the cops.
Adam and Jamie had left on a business trip leaving the build team to run the shop which wasn't unusual in itself, Adam and Jamie had contacts all over the world that they would often visit. What was unusually is that normally when the city inevitably caught wind of the missing heroes, crime would spike. Not this week though. There was nothing. So naturally, the B team got bored.
"mmmm," Tori hummed "To snoop or not to snoop?" he wondered out loud as he starred at the filing cabinet in Jamies office. Really, what else is an ex-henchman going to do on his off days. The opportunity was right there! And come to think about it, Jamie had ben saying that his contract included somethings that Tori did not remember. Something to do with mustache care, who really knows. Well soon Tori would, all he had to do was open the filing cabinet.
There was just one problem though, Jamie always booty trap everything. But Tori had walked around the cabinet sever times, and he could see no clear signs of a threat.
So the question remained, to snoop or not to snoop?
He weighed the two options in his mind for about 5 more seconds before deciding why not and yanked the filing cabinet open.
Nothing happened, no alarms, no explosions, nothing. Tori took this as a good sign and began riffling though the papers until he found his contract.
"Hu? I guess I do have to do Jamie's mustache care." Tori said as he flipped though the papers he sighed to begin working for the heroes. After putting the file back where it belonged he pushed the cabinet door closed only to hear a small click. "Well that can't be good"
Tori wanted to let go of the handle but something told him that was a bad idea. He desperately looked around for something to hid behind in case the worst occurred but all be could find was the desk. Tori judged the distance he would have to jump and figured it was the best chance he got. Taking one last breath of air he let go of the handle and leapt for safety.
Outside the office Kari was going through some old motors she had found in a box when he heard a deep thump coming from the room. Seconds later Tori slowly trudged out covered in paint.
"Did you snoop?" she asked. Tori only nodded in response.
