"The battle between Will and Ash will now begin!"

"Go, Grumpig."

"Tyranitar, I choose you!"

"Grumpig, use icy wind."

"Protect yourself with sandstorm."

"Bounce to get close, then iron tail."

"Let yourself get hit with bounce, but counter with payback before he can use iron tail."

"Got it."

Luckily, Tyranitar was fast enough to make a move as Grumpig was approaching him. Not only that, but Grumpig took extra damage from the sandstorm as well as being hit with the super effective move that happened to be powered up due to the circumstances.

Impressed by the move Ash had made, Will observed, 'Clever move, but will it be enough to defeat me? It depends how many other tricks like that he has up his two sleeves.'

"Rock slide, then dragon dance and crunch."

"Keep yourself from getting hit by using psychic on the rocks."

Sighing from relief, Ash thought, 'Ah, he fell straight into my trap. Now that Grumpig distracted by the rocks, Tyranitar will be able to attack.'

Ash's plan had worked: Tyranitar managed to increase his physical attack, speed stats and he hit his opponent with a super effective move. Grumpig was now sitting on the floor, trying to gain some energy in order to stand.

Will pressed his lips together, 'It seems that Ash has the ability to communicate with his pokemon telepathically somehow, so this'll be tricky. Although it makes things harder for me, I'd be surprised if he still ends up finding a way to win against all of my pokemon. I have a feeling that this isn't his weakest Pokemon on his current team and I'm curious to see the rest of his party.'

"Use telekinesis, Grumpig."

Will focused his eyes onto the now floating dark type pokemon, 'I wonder what he will do to counter this.'

"Dragon dance again, then dark pulse."

"Dodge, then use bounce and iron tail again."

Ash shook his head, "Counter it the same way you did before, but try to use shadow claw as well and use dragon dance before he comes if you can."

Grumpig was able to dodge the dark pulse since he was quite speedy, but got hurt a lot by the payback and the shadow claw.

The challenger counted, 'Okay, there should just be one more turn left before Tyranitar will be released from the telekinesis.'

"Tyranitar, use iron defence and fire another dark pulse."

"Keep him in the air with psychic and fling him around a bit."

"Carry on using iron defence."

Getting thrown around started to affect Tyranitar less and less, because he was boosting his physical defence stat multiple times. Eventually, he was taking very little damage from it so Grumpig stopped.

"Blizzard, then foul play and shadow claw."

The strong ice type attack was able to freeze the psychic type, then Tyranitar broke the ice and attacked him in a slightly rough manner. After a few strikes Grumpig fainted, making Tyranitar the winner of the first matchup.

"Grumpig is unable to battle, Tyranitar has won this match. Please send out your next Pokemon."

"You fought well Grumpig, now return," Will put the Pokemon back into the pokeball. "Go, Bronzong."

"Well done, Tyranitar. I might need you again, so rest up for now," Ash returned him. "Eevee, I choose you! Come out as Flareon."

"Bronzong, use rain dance and future sight."

Ash pulled a worried face, 'Well, this'll be fun.'

"Sunny day, then wil-o-wisp, flame charge and transform into Umbreon."

Will nodded, 'I realised that he was probably just going to sunny day to boost Flareon's attacks after I tried to weaken them with rain dance.'

What Will didn't automatically see coming though was the wil-o-wisp and Bronzong got burned quite severely. Since the flame charge had been powered up by the sunny weather, the force of the flame charge was stronger than usual and Bronzong was knocked backwards by it.

When he saw Flareon turn into Umbreon, Will smiled triumphantly, 'Dark and ghost types can still be hit by future sight, though it is slightly less effective. Let's see what you'll do to dodge this, Ash. Neither protect, detect, endure or substitute will save you from this.'

"Now use iron defence."

"Confuse ray and throat chop."

Luckily, Ash managed to land a hit on Bronzong with throat chop and confuse ray before the future sight attack. However Ash was unaware that future sight could still have an effect against dark and ghost types, so Umbreon was hurt quite a lot by it. Then again, Bronzong was slowly getting weaker from being burnt.

"Turn back into Flareon and use dig."

"Keep your guard up."

"When you come up, use flame charge and double team."

As Flareon emerged from the earth, Will shouted, "Reduce her speed with rock tomb and rock slide."

Ash cringed, 'Uh-oh.'

"Avoid them with flame charge, then close the distance between you two with it, use fire spin and facade."

Inevitably Flareon wasn't completely prepared and she did get hit by some of the rocks, but she did hit Bronzong with the two attacks since he was confused by the double team. Tired, Flareon changed back into her original form which gave Will a chance to twist the battle around to his side.

"Bronzong, iron defence and body press."

"Flare blitz and fire fang when he's closer to you."

That was a reckless move on Ash's part as Eevee took a lot of recoil damage from the move, which caused Eevee to faint. Fortunately, Bronzong was also unable to battle due to all of the super effective moves he got hit by.

"Both Pokemon are unable to battle, so this matchup is a draw! Please send out your next Pokemon."

Will put Bronzong back, "Good job, Bronzong. Slowbro, go."

Ash petted Eevee's head, "Get as much rest as you can get, Eevee. Pikachu, I choose you!"

"Slowbro, use earthquake."
