Gaalen Marek watched as they drained the fluid from the capsule as Taun We two helped the young man out. He couldn't believe it, Brice's clone made it. He thought it was going to take longer then this but who is to complain? "Is he well?"
"He is mi lord, with a minor detail," Taun We spoke with a worried expression as she held up his left hand. "It appears it's deformed. Shall I destroy it and start a new?"
"No, it will help me distinguish the clone from the original," Gaalen answered honestly as he noted the rest of the clone looked fine. He could sense the anger in this clone, Brice must have some anger issues to work out. He will make a good Sith apprentice. "Start with his knowledge and I will start his training in the dark side."
"As you wish, mi lord."
Anakin glanced at Padme as she fell against the bed with a tired sigh as a small cry reached his ears causing him to smile. He looked down at Padme who looked exhausted. He leaned over and kissed her on the forehead.
"It's a healthy baby girl," the doctor announced as he handed the baby over to a nurse who whisked the baby away to clean her up.
"A girl?" Anakin asked happily as Padme smiled tiredly. "We have another girl." He felt excitement as he leaned over and kissed Padme on the lips. "I've got some planning to do to chase off boys."
"Ani, she's barely a few minutes old. It'll be a long time before you need to worry about that," Padme pointed out with a smile.
"Hence the planning part," Anakin pointed out as the nurse walked back towards him with a small bundle in her arms handing the bundle to Padme. He looked down at the small bundle noting she looked like Padme. "She's beautiful."
"You're a daddy again," Padme spoke as she moved part of the towel aside.
"She looks more like you except the eyes," Anakin pointed out. He wondered if the child had his hair and eyes with Padme's beauty. The eyes could change color in a couple of weeks from now.
"What name did you choose?" Padme questioned as she handed the bundle to Anakin.
Anakin held the baby in his arms and looked down at his baby girl feeling a lump form in the back of his throat. This is what I missed with Luke and Leia. "Lillian Shmi Skywalker."
"I love it," Padme closed her eyes as Anakin gently kissed Lillian's forehead. "I can't wait to teach you all sorts of things, my beautiful baby girl," he whispered. "I love you Lillian, let's go introduce you to the rest of the family."
Anakin walked out of the room and down the hall to the waiting room where everyone was waiting. He walked out of the room as all eyes fell on him as Luke and Leia stood up and walked over. "Luke, Leia, I have someone I would like to introduce to you. This is your baby sister, Lillian Shmi Skywalker."
"She's beautiful," Leia cooed as she held out her arms. "May I?"
"Of course," Anakin answered as he handed the baby bundle over to Leia. Han walked over and looked down at the baby.
Fress approached Anakin and hugged him "Congrats Anakin, how's Padme doing?"
"She's tired but doing okay," Anakin answered as he returned the hug. "I'm a father again. I have a second chance to raise this child with Padme."
"I know the feeling," Fress agreed as she took a step. "I'm thrilled for you and Padme."
"Thanks Fress," Anakin glanced over and noticed that Luke was holding Lillian now. He smiled knowing the twins would help keep Lillian safe. This wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for Leia talking him into leaving the Empire behind. "This wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for Leia."
"I know," Fress agreed with a smile. "Your daughter is amazing."
"She is," Anakin agreed readily. "I hope Lillian turns out just as well," he watched as Ahsoka took Lillian from Luke. He had a feeling it would be a good half hour before he got the baby back. She was being passed around from their closest friends and relatives. "It's going to be a bit before I get her back."
"Everyone is going to take turns holding her," Fress agreed with a smile. "Don't worry, Anakin. You'll get her back when she needs to be changed."
Anakin chuckled nodding in agreement. "You're right, hopefully a little sooner then that."
Sola took the baby from Ahsoka as Roland looked down at the small bundle. He smiled as Roland kissed Lillian on the forehead. They both looked happy to have a new niece to love and fuss over.
Leia held Lillian in her arms as she studied her new siblings features. She looked more like Padme but appeared to have Anakin's eyes making her wonder if Lillian would be blond like Anakin and Luke. She was thrilled of having a little sister to look after. "Sorry Luke."
"As much as I was hoping for a baby brother, as long as Lillian is healthy, I have a little sister to watch over," Luke spoke with a smile as Leia handed Lillian over to Luke.
"As much as I want to stay here, Prince Isolder is arriving sooner then expected. I have to greet him," Leia felt worried as Luke raised an eyebrow. "Lukeā¦"
"Why are you worried? You and Han are engaged and I highly doubt dad would give his blessing to Isolder even if he asked," Luke pointed out with a reassuring smile. "You have nothing to worry about, sis."
"Dad did say he wouldn't give his blessing and he does not want me to be the Queen of Hapes," Leia agreed sounding troubled. What if Isolder did not take no for an answer she added silently to herself.
"We could put Isolder into carbonite and ship him back to Hapes," Anakin suggested as he walked up to Luke and Leia. "I need your sister back, your mother says she wants to attempt to feed her."
"Anakin no," Leia said with a solid no. "We will handle this diplomatically, in a way that will not lead us to war with the Hapans."
"It was just a suggestion," Anakin replied easily as he took Lillian from Luke and held the baby in his arms. "I need to get this little one back to her mother. Leia, if you need me to give a resounding no to Isolder. Let me know. Your way of course. I give you my word, no carbonite."
"That's all I ask, father," Leia smiled as Lillian started to fuss a bit in Anakin's arms. "I think Lillian's getting hungry."
"She is," Anakin agreed with a smile. "I'll see you later, Leia. Good luck with your meeting."
"Thanks dad," Leia gave Anakin a quick kiss on the cheek before he started walking away as she turned her attention to Luke.
"Did you want me to come with you?" Luke questioned in curiosity.
"As much as I appreciate the offer, I was asked to come alone," Leia answered honestly. "I'll keep you updated."
"Good luck, Leia. I love you," Luke kissed Leia on the forehead. He pulled back with a smile. "I'm going to get something to eat."
"I love you, Luke."
Leia walked up to Prince Isolder's ship as it landed on the docking bay. She took a deep breath and slowly released her anxiety into the Force as Anakin as shown her. It helped but didn't dispel what she was completely feeling. The ramp lowering broke into her thoughts as three body guards walked down the ramp. She noted all three looked extremely beautiful causing her nervousness to rise a little more. A man walked down the ramp with a cloth hiding his face, she silently noted as she approached Isolder and gave him a bow. "Welcome to Coruscant, Prince Isolder. We are honored by your presence."
"Thank you for your warm welcome, Princess Leia," Isolder spoke as he gave a wave to his body guards. The guards walked back up the ramp as Leia stepped in beside Isolder. "You are probably wondering about my visit?"
"Yes I am," Leia answered honestly as they walked towards the speeder she had waiting for them. "What brings you to Coruscant, Prince Isolder?"
"To form an Alliance with the New Republic and to offer support to help finish the war," Isolder answered. "On a couple of conditions."
"And what are your conditions?" Leia questioned with a smile.
"To form a mutual bond in marriage," Isolder answered honestly as the feeling of anxiety returned again.
"I'm engaged to be married to General Han Solo," Leia answered with a frown.
"But you're not married yet," Isolder pointed out as Leia shook her head.
"I'll have to give it some thought," Leia answered honestly. "My father would never agree to it."
"Bail is alive?" Isolder questioned sounding surprised. "If I had known I would've contacted him directly."
"Not Bail," Leia spoke up with a frown. "I was adopted into the Organa family. I'm referring to my biological father, Anakin Skywalker."
"I thought you were of royal blood line?" Isolder questioned in a curious tone.
"My mother Padme Amidala, is from the Royal house of Naboo. She ruled as Queen at age fourteen and served as senator for several years after," Leia explained as she climbed into the back seat of the speeder as Isolder climbed in beside her.
"I see,"Isolder spoke as the driver lifted the speeder into the air and headed towards the reception Leia had put together.
There were thousands of people lining the streets waiting for Isolder to make his appearance. Cheers and confetti filled the air as Isolder waved to the crowd. Leia did the same. "I would very much like to meet Anakin and Padme Skywalker."
"My mother just delivered my baby sister this afternoon," Leia explained with a frown. "I'll see if she's up for it."
"Of course, I understand," Isolder agreed. "Congratulations on your new sister, Princess. You must be very excited. If I had known, I would've post pone my trip."
"Thank you, your highness, she delivered earlier then expected. No apologies necessary. I appreciate it," Leia answered with a reassuring smile. "Driver, take us to the Coruscant children's ward."
"Yes Princess."
Anakin sat down in the small rocking chair in Padme's room holding Lillian in his arms. He rocked back and forth gently as Lillian slowly fell asleep. He felt at peace watching his newest daughter sleep. A chance to do things right this time filled him with love and hope. Padme was sleeping on the bed recovering from delivering their daughter. One day he would have to tell Lillian the horrifying truth of his past. He planned to tell her when she was old enough to understand but he suspected he would have to tell Lillian that he was Vader before she heard it from someone else.
Anakin glanced up as Leia entered the room as he noticed someone standing behind her. She gave a warm smile as she took out her holo recorder and snapped a holo. "Leia, what are you doing here?" He whispered as he nodded towards the bed where Padme was fast asleep.
Leia glanced towards the bed and gestured for Anakin to follow her. He stood up with Lillian secured in his arms and gently laid her down into the bassinet beside Padme's bed. Lillian's eyes opened briefly then shut again as Anakin gently placed his hand on her shoulder. "I'll be back in a few minutes, Lillian," he whispered gently.
Anakin followed Leia out of the room as she closed the door to Padme's room. "I'm General Anakin Skywalker, I suspect you're Prince Isolder?"
"Very perceptive, General," Isolder observed. "I have come to have a chat with you. And ask you a question."
"I would be honored to speak with you, your highness," Anakin agreed with a tight smile. "My wife is asleep, shall we continue this conversation else where?"
"Yes of course," Isolder agreed with a smile as they went in search of a private room. "I hear congratulations are in order. How are they doing?"
"They are both doing well," Anakin answered with a warm smile. "We're both thrilled. What is it you need to ask of me?"
Isolder stopped walking turning his attention to Anakin. His face was hidden behind a veil, he also knew that was part of the custom for the Hapen royalty. "Princess Leia has informed me that you are her biological father."
"I am her biological father," Anakin agreed with a frown. "It's a long story."
"I have come to ask for your blessing to court your daughter," Isolder explained as Anakin didn't act surprised, he suspected what the question would be.
"I'm sorry your highness, but I have already given my blessing for Leia's hand in marriage to General Solo. I would prefer to have my daughter marry for love, not for advantage. Padme and I are both in agreement on the subject as this was one of our previous discussions," Anakin explained with a frown.
"Is Leia's duty not to her people?" Isolder questioned in curiosity as Anakin noticed Leia's body tensed at the question. "Would Bail approve of her choice?
"Bail raised Leia the way Padme would have raised her, Padme and Bail were close friends," Anakin pointed out with a tight smile. "And that includes allowing Leia to chose her husband and not have one chosen for her," he could sense Leia's appreciation over their Force bond.
"Then it appears we're at an impasse, I propose a compromise," Isolder spoke as Anakin noticed Leia was tensing up. "I want three days to win Leia's heart. If she refuses I will leave and never bother her again, we will still join the Republic regardless."
"Leia, I'm going to leave that decision up to you," Anakin spoke with a frown. "I don't want to force you into anything."
Leia gave a short nod. "I agree to your terms."
"Excellent," Isolder clapped his hands together with a pleased tone. He removed the clothe from his face causing Anakin to gasp. The Prince was gorgeous, stormy grey eyes and a chiseled chest. He hoped Leia would chose correctly, the last thing he needed was Han doing something rash if he started feeling threatened over this decision. "Tonight I will take you out for dinner. Until then Princess."
Anakin watched as Isolder walked away as he turned a concerned expression to Leia. "I'm sorry, Leia, I did my best."
"I appreciate it, dad," Leia gave an appreciative smile as Anakin hugged her. "And I know you did. I better get ready. Do me a favor and don't tell Han. He may react badly."
"That's my fear," Anakin agreed somberly. "I'll be here if you need anything. I love you, Leia."
"Thanks and I love you, dad," Leia kissed Anakin on the cheek then headed for the exit. He turned back towards Padme's room as he noticed she was standing in the doorway. It made him wonder how long she was standing there for and how much she heard. He walked back to the room as she gave a weary smile as Anakin kissed her on the lips.
