Unwelcome Visit and Accidental Revelation
~Yuzuki's POV~
I had just closed my eyes, when I found myself opening them again. I sighed and cursed mentally as I was greeted by an open field. This was just not my day; first an unplanned trip to the future and now this.
"Kufufu, you seem to be in a bad mood," Mukuro's voice echoed around me before the boy himself materialized in front of me, "More so, than usual."
"Oh, really what gave it away?" I asked sarcasm dripping from each word. The heterochromatic boy chuckled at my response his trademark smirk in place. I glared sparing no ounce of annoyance and irritation as my eyes locked with his.
"Oya, oya no need to be so hostile," Mukuro said in a tone I couldn't place, "After all Yuzuki-chan, I haven't seen you in a while."
My eyes narrowed further, but I forced myself to remain still. I knew he was trying to get a rise out of me and he'd succeeded the last two times he'd been in my Mindscape. And both times he had mentioned my brother.
"I'd prefer if you wouldn't be so familiar with me Rokudo-san," I said evenly before sending him a mocking closed-eye smile, "After all, I really don't like you."
"Well, that's just hurtful Yuzuki-chan," Mukuro feigned a hurt tone, "And after all the wonderful conversations we've had. And speaking of-"
I was in front of him before I even had time to register my body's movement; fist pulled back to strike. Mukuro easily leapt backwards out of my reach. The smirk he bore only served to fuel my anger. However, that same anger blinded me to my opponent's play. As I made to rush my mind's invader I found myself falling to the ground; legs tangled in vines. I snarled as Mukuro stepped closer to me; vines holding me in place.
"Kufufu, you become rather predictable when you're angry Yuzuki-chan," the illusionist said earning a growl from me, "Now why don't we have a civilized chat?"
"Civilized?!" I shouted incredulously, "How is any of this civilized, Rokudo?! You invade my privacy without my permission, and expect me to be happy about it! Well, sorry but I don't work that way! Especially when my day has been very weird and stressful!" the wind picked up as I continued to yell at the blue haired boy, "And the time I spend here having these chats with you carries over to the real world, so come tomorrow when I have to tell my brother-"
Mukuro's eyes suddenly brightened cutting my tirade off, "By brother would you happen to mean…" his voice trailed off and I wanted to rewind time and take back what I'd just said, "Hisoka Arashi would you?"
I cursed silently, and had to wonder if Mukuro had intentionally set me off in order to figure out my relation to Arashi. Regardless I had effectively screwed up. Even if he hadn't been trying to get information on my twin, he had it now and there was nothing I could do about it. Mukuro must have realized from my posture and the way I refused to look directly at him that he'd hit the nail on the head.
"I see," the heterochromatic boy spoke mostly to himself, "That would explain some things; including your failed possession," he turned his mismatched gaze to me, "But just because your siblings shouldn't affect the possession unless…"
I refused to look him in the eye, but that more than anything seemed to confirm what he was thinking.
"Kufufu, still as interesting as always Yuzuki-chan," Mukuro chuckled, "I'm looking forward to the day I can me your twin."
"Keep dreaming Rokudo; it'll never happen!" I growled thrashing against my bindings. My captor burst into laughter. For a moment I thought he was laugh at my predicament, but then something caught my eye; a glint of silver around his neck. My eyes widened which had Mukuro smirking. Dangling from a metal chain was a ring, and not just any ring but one of the Vongola rings. My fear had been realized; the wind had disappeared as fear coursed through me.
"Kufufu, such an amusing expression Yuzuki-chan," Mukuro smiled as he spoke; a scarily genuine smile.
"Why… why do you have that? Who in their right mind would trust you?!" my voice lifted into a shout.
The boy before me laughed, "It's not a matter of trust Yuzuki-chan, but rather of need. I was approached by a certain person with a proposition; become the Vongola Tenth's Mist Guardian and in return… well, that's not something you need to know about yet. Suffice to say by taking on the role of Sawada Tsunayoshi's Mist Guardian I have earned a favor from the one who proposed the idea."
"What makes you think that Tsuna or the rest of us will agree?" I asked anger finally overtaking fear; the wind beginning to pick up again, "After all that you did… regardless of this individuals actions in recruiting you, none of us will accept-"
"Unfortunately, you and the others have no say in this," Mukuro cut me off, "The deal's already been struck."
I grit my teeth at the self-satisfied expression on the intruder's face. I couldn't stand the thought of him having the last say though.
"Regardless, once the others find out-" my voice caught in my throat as Mukuro expression shifted. There was something threatening in the way his mismatched eyes met mine.
"Once they find out it'll be too late for objections Yuzuki-chan. It's already too late," the blue haired boy said, "I should tell you that you won't remember this part of the conversation; can't have you spoiling the surprise after all."
"Then why tell me at all? There's no point if I'm just gonna forget by the morning," I growled. It wasn't like I wanted to remember this, but I had wanted to warn Tsuna and the others. But now that I'd been told that this conversation would be struck from my memory I wouldn't be warning any one any time soon.
"Kufufu, that's the question isn't it," Mukuro sent me a strange look, "Perhaps the next time we meet I'll have an answer."
I started as I realized that he was fading. The vines that held me in place vanished causing me to stumble. Mukuro's laugh, a very genuine one, echoed around me as an embarrassed heat spread over my cheeks.
"You're just lucky I couldn't move until now!" I shouted at the spot that the intruder had occupied.
Another laugh before his voice reverberated around me, "Perhaps Yuzuki-chan, but we'll never know now will we? Oh, and should you for some reason remember this conversation," his voice had taken on a dangerous undertone, "I'd prefer you not say anything. At least if you value your brother's life."
My entire being froze; blood turned to ice. My eyes were wide; two prominent emotions raging within them. The first was pure unadulterated rage, though an icy version. The second was fear because I knew now that Mukuro knew of Arashi's connection to me he'd follow through on his threat.
"You even think of harming him, and it'll be the last thing you ever do," I snarled. However, I knew that my threat of a promise wouldn't deter the heterochromatic boy. Not only that, but there was no telling how Mukuro would go about acting on his threat; he could send assassins after him.
"Kufufu, then I'd recommend not saying anything that would force my hand," the smugness of the voice had me bristling, "I'll see you soon Yuzuki-chan."
"Stop being so familiar with me!" I shouted to the emptiness as I found myself slipping into unconsciousness.
Me: So… hey, finally updated again. Anyways, I know this chapter isn't as long as the last but I hope you all still enjoyed it.
Yuzuki: It was definitely set to a different pace. Normally there's a fight between me and Mukuro when he invades my Mindscape. And I can't believe I told him about Arashi.
Me: Well, it could've been worse. So, yeah Mukuro officially knows exactly who Arashi is to Yuzuki, though he had some theories before now. And I was going to have a fight scene, but then I got the idea for Mukuro to force you into have a semi-normal conversation with him.
Yuzuki: And you did that why?
Me: For one… Mukuro's smart; I mean, he took down two Mafia families single handedly… more or less. So, it seems only natural that he'd realize when you get angry or protective of someone that you don't think straight; you only worry about what made you angry or the people you're trying to protect.
Yuzuki: Okay, fair enough. And that also explains why I spilled the beans about Arashi.
Me: Yep, and I also kind of wanted Mukuro to let you in on the secret of him being the Mist Guardian to Tsuna, but then keeping you from being able to tell anyone. If you hadn't blurted out the fact that Arashi was your brother, and if Mukuro hadn't picked up on the slip, then he'd have no good way of threatening your silence.
Yuzuki: So, there's a chance I could remember?
Me: I think so at least. And Mukuro would have to take that possibility into consideration, since he couldn't possess you because of Arashi he might not be able to make you forget. But since Mukuro can alter people's memories, because why wouldn't he be able to with his skills, the chances aren't very likely that you will. Still he's not the kind of person that would make miscalculations, especially after his encounter with Tsuna at Kokuyo Land.
Yuzuki: Okay point taken. Anyways I'll say the disclaimer. So, CloudSkylark18 doesn't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn, but she does own me and the rest of her OCs. Cloud would also like to remind you that should you have any questions feel free to PM her or leave them in the box below.
Me: Right, so with that taken care of see you all next time.
