As the weeks went by, Emma and Ben's relationship became stronger, and their love for each other deepened. She counted the days until they would be wed, November the 15th, 1941. Curt would be going to Pearl Harbour the very next day, which was why they had planned the wedding a day before.

Emma sat on the front porch of the Walton house, deep in thought. Just then, a truck pulled up, and Curt stepped out. Without thinking, Emma ran over and pulled him into a hug.

"I'm gonna miss you when you go to Pearl Harbour. Its only two weeks." She said softly.

"I'll miss you too, honey. Is Mary Ellen inside?" Curt asked her. Emma nodded. Both of them walked in the front door. Elizabeth and John Curtis were listening to the radio, and the others were at the table.

"Cu-" Elizabeth started to say before he motioned for her to remain quiet.

"Can I get John Curtis?" He asked her in a whisper. Elizabeth handed John Curtis to his father. Curt walked into the kitchen and sat next to Ben on the bench. The family quickly dispersed as Curt smirked at his wife, who was washing dishes at the sink.

"Come on Elizabeth. Let's go sit with Erin." Emma said looking at Curt. Soon the only ones left in the kitchen were Mary Ellen, Curt, and little John Curtis.

"I've going to Pearl Harbour and you aren't even gonna talk to me?" Curt asked Mary Ellen. As soon as she heard his voice she whirled around and shouted before kissing her husband and jumping into his arms, narrowly dodging her son.

Emma woke up on the 10th of November, her heart fluttering with nerves. Today was her bridal shower, and the realisation that she was going to be married in five short days still hadn't really sank in. She ran through in her head who was coming. Aimee, Marcia, Martha Rose, Miss Mamie and Miss Emily, Nancy, and Corabeth.

Erin was brushing her hair by the mirror. "Morning, sleepyhead."

"Morning." Emma yawned. She got up and got dressed in a lovely blue dress she had been saving. She then twisted her hair up before heading downstairs with her sister. No one had arrived just yet, so she sat down at the kitchen table.

Of course Corabeth and Aimee waltzed in at that very moment. Emma plastered a fake smile on her face as Corabeth hollered, "Yoo hoo!"

"Hello, Corabeth." Olivia nodded. Emma didn't know how she was so patient.

"So, I have picked out all the arrangements..." As Corabeth talked on and on, Aimee wandered over to where Elizabeth was sitting on the couch. Emma watched them carefully. She knew how bratty Aimee could be, but then again, most of the time she was well mannered.

Martha Rose sauntered in, saw Emma, and smirked. "Emma Davis, I never thought you would get married." Just as Emma was thinking of a retort, Nancy and Marcia entered, along with the Baldwin sisters. Emma sighed to herself.
