Chapter 57

"I end my turn with 2 face-downs!" Akiza concluded. (Akiza's hand: 0 cards. Akiza's LP: 2050. Jakob's hand: 4 cards. Jakob's LP: 2200. Akiza/Jakob's SpC: 6.) After a short moment, Akiza continued. "So do you see now Jakob? The future isn't set yet!"

"Foolish girl!" Jakob snarled. "All you've done is sped up the calamity that is the future!"

"What do you mean?!" Akiza demanded.

"I do need not explain myself to one such as you, Signer." Jakob remarked coldly. "Instead of telling you, I shall show you!" The infinite symbols on Jakob's mask, along with the ones over Primo and Lester's left and right eyes respectively. Suddenly, Jakob was launched off his machine and in the air; followed by Primo and Lester before forming together as a fusion of their masks formed upon Jakob's face his body changing before the mask disappeared to show a different face altogether.

"What in the?!" Akiza gasped. "Who are you?!" The android opened his eyes to look down at Akiza.

"My name is Aporia."

"Wh-What's going on?!" Leo gaped.

"All 3 combined?!" Luna gasped.

"This is…!" Aura grunted, clutching her head, her face pale. Aporia smirked as Primo's D-Wheel and Lester's D-Board rode next to Jakob's own D-Wheel. The 3 machines glowed before they also combined into a much larger D-Wheel; which Aporia combined with.

"Just like before." Yusei frowned.

"Who and what are you?!" Akiza demanded.

"I am Aporia, the guardian of Despair." Aporia answered.

"That doesn't give me much to go off of." Akiza replied.

"Too bad." Aporia remarked. "You'll just have to be patient Signer! You'll be learning the whole truth from me like everyone else soon enough! But for now, it's my turn! Draw!" (Akiza's hand: 0 cards. Akiza's LP: 2050. Aporia's hand: 5 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Akiza/Aporia's SpC: 7.) Aporia looked at his hand and he smiled.

"This is perfect." Aporia grinned as he grabbed a card from his hand. "I'll start my turn off by Normal Summoning Meklord Amalgamation Core to my field!" A small core that a pattern on it similar to that of Polymerization appeared onto Aporia's field. (Meklord Amalgamation Core, attribute: LIGHT, type: Machine, Level 1, ATK/DEF: 0. Akiza's hand: 0 cards. Akiza's LP: 2050. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Akiza/Aporia's SpC: 7.)

"A 4th Core?!" Akiza inquired in surprise.

"So then he has his own Meklord." Bruno frowned.

"Not only that, but look at its symbol." Yusei pointed out.

"The symbol for Polymerization?!" Luna gasped.

"Oh man!" Crow groaned.

"Which means his Meklord is a Fusion monster?!" Leo gaped.

"Seems that way Leo!" Luna added.

"I activate Meklord Amalgamation Core's effect!" Aporia announced. "Now by releasing it from the field, I can perform a Fusion Summon by using monsters from my hand, field, or Graveyard as Fusion Material!" Aporia pulled out 3 Meklord Emperors from his Graveyard and revealed them. "I banish Meklord Emperors Skiel, Wisel, and Granel from my Graveyard as the Fusion Materials!" A Fusion Portal appeared above Aporia's field. Shortly after, Aporia began to chant. "Three despairs you unite to form the dark unavoidable cataclysm of the world! Fusion Summon! Descend now! Level 12! Meklord Emperor Aes!" A combination of all 3 Meklord Emperors appeared out of the Fusion Portal and onto Aporia's field. It's appearance very similar to Asterisk a/Astro Mekanikle. (Meklord Emperor Aes, attribute: LIGHT, type: Machine/Fusion, Level 12, ATK/DEF: 4500. Akiza's hand: 0 cards. Akiza's LP: 2050. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Akiza/Aporia's SpC: 7.)

"4500 ATK?!" Crow gaped.

"And there's no data on this Fusion monster." Yusei frowned deeply. "But I have a bad feeling about this."

"Akiza…" Aura frowned. Aporia thrusted his right hand forward.

"Meklord Emperor Aes's effect!" Aporia announced. "Once during each of our turns, Aes can absorb 1 Synchro monster on your field and gain its ATK points!" Aporia pointed his right index finger at Akiza's Rose Pulsar Dragon. "So if you don't mind, I'll be absorbing your precious Rose Pulsar Dragon." Green wires extended out of Aes's body and towards Akiza's Accel Synchro monster; preparing to absorb it.

"If he absorbs Rose Pulsar Dragon, then Akiza won't be able to counter him!" Leo panicked.

"I activate the counter trap Solemn Strike!" Akiza announced. "Now by paying 1500 LP when you either Special Summon a monster(s), or activate a monster, I can negate the effect and destroy the card!" A barrier appeared around Rose Pulsar Dragon as the green wires bounced off it and back towards Meklord Emperor Aes. Aporia just smirked in amusement.

"A good try, but not enough to get rid of Aes!" Aporia revealed. "By banishing Gran Core from my Graveyard, my monster isn't destroyed!" This time a barrier formed around Meklord Emperor Aes; thus protecting it from its own wires. (Akiza's LP: 2050 - 1500 = 550. Akiza's hand: 0 cards. Akiza's LP: 550. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Akiza/Aporia's SpC: 7.)

"She couldn't destroy it!" Leo gasped.

"And since there's all the Wisel and Granel parts left in his GY, he can negate the destruction at total of 5 more times." Bruno frowned.

"And that can just be one of its effects." Crow frowned.

"You mean it has more effect?!" Leo gaped.

"Akiza…" Luna whispered in worry.

"Tch…!" Akiza grunted.

"I may not be able to absorb your Synchro monster, but I don't need to in order to beat you Akiza Izinski!" Aporia told the red-headed Signer. "I pray despair falls upon you after this attack! Battle! Meklord Emperor Aes, attack Rose Pulsar Dragon!" The Fusion Meklord raised its arms up and began to charge up a beam of energy from its palms. "Fire!" The Meklord Emperor fired the beam of energy at Rose Pulsar Dragon.

"Hold on!" Akiza spoke up. "I banish Rose Pulsar Dragon from my field in order to negate your attack!" Rose Pulsar Dragon then vanished from the field. Aporia however, just chuckled.

"So what? By sending a Meklord Emperor part from either my hand or Deck to the Graveyard, Aes's gains the sent part's effect until the end of the turn. So Granel Top, you're hereby banished to the GY and your effect is now gained! Now Meklord Emperor Aes negates Rose Pulsar Dragon's effects!"

"No!" Akiza gasped as her Accel Synchro monster reappeared on her field only to be obliterated from Meklord Emperor Aes's attack. Akiza cried out as her D-Wheel spun out of control. She was spinning too fast and thus she hit the side of the stadium. Her D-Wheel on its back, with a knocked out cold Akiza next to it. (Akiza's LP: 550 - 1300 = 0.)

"Akiza!" They yelled in horror.

"Once again, one of Team 5Ds' wheelers has crashed by the forceful attack!" MC yelled in panic. "Get a medic!" The medics rushed to quickly take Akiza to a stretcher; Aura standing up.

"I'm going to stay by Jack and Akiza. The rest is up to you Yusei." Aura frowned, facing her brother. Yusei turned to his sister and nodded.

"I know." He replied. "And I won't lose. I can't afford to lose."

"I know you won't." Aura nodded with a frown. "Be careful."

"I'll be careful, so don't worry." Yusei remarked. Aura gave a final nod before quickly following the medics to the medic ward.

After Aura left, Yusei got onto his D-Wheel and started up its engines; thus speeding off and onto the track. Aporia glanced over at his monitor and saw Yusei coming up behind him. Aporia laughed in amusement.

"So you're the Leader of Team 5Ds - Yusei Fudo." Aporia remarked.

"That's right." Yusei retorted. "And I'll be sure to stop that thing" He points up to the sky where the Divine Temple was "is stopped!"

"In order for that to happen Yusei, you must defeat me first!" Aporia reminded him.

"I'll see to it that happens!" Yusei vowed. "I draw!" (Yusei's's hand: 6 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 8.) Yusei grabbed a card from his hand, then discarded it. "By discarding Debris Stardust, I can add 1 Debris Dragon from my Deck to my hand. Immediately afterwards, I can Normal Summon it." A card ejected out of Yusei's Deck; thus he added it to his hand. "Now I Normal Summon Debris Dragon!" A smaller version of Stardust Dragon appeared onto Yusei's field. (Debris Dragon, Level 4 WIND Dragon-type Tuner monster, ATK/DEF: 1000/2000. Yusei's's hand: 5 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 8.) Yusei then pulled Debris Stardust out of his Graveyard and placed it on his Duel Disk. "Thanks to Debris Dragon, Debris Stardust is Special Summoned onto my field!" A cosmic tornado-like emerges onto Yusei's field. (Debris Stardust, attribute: WIND, type: Dragon, Level 3, ATK/DEF: 500/1500. Yusei's's hand: 5 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 8.) Aporia noticed that there total Levels were 7; thus he laughed.

"Ha! So you plan to Synchro Summon?" Aporia grinned. "That's fine! I'll just absorb it!"

"We'll see about that!" Yusei declared as he raised his right arm upwards. "I tune my Level 4 Debris Dragon with my Level 3 Debris Stardust!" The 2 monsters turned into 7 white stars that soared into the green pillar of light. "Gathering crystal lights will shine and form a beacon! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Crystalize, Crystal Stardust!" A crystalized Stardust Dragon appeared onto Yusei's field. (Crystal Stardust, attribute: LIGHT, type: Dragon/Synchro, Level 7, ATK/DEF: 2400/2000. Yusei's's hand: 5 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 8.)

"A crystal Stardust!" Leo gasped.

"Yeah!" Luna noted. "It's quite pretty!" She then frowned. "Too bad pretty doesn't win duels." Yusei grabbed another card from his hand.

"Since I control a Synchro monster, I can Special Summon Stardust Knight from my hand!" Yusei continued. A cosmic armored knight appeared next to Crystal Stardust. (Stardust Knight, attribute: WIND, type: Warrior, Level 4, ATK/DEF: 1700/1200. Yusei's's hand: 4 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 8.) Yusei then grabbed another card from his hand.

"I discard Junk Stardust from my hand in order to make Stardust Knight's Level to 6." Yusei continued. "Also, Junk Stardust can revive itself if I have a Stardust monster on my field." The cosmic machine that looked like a steed appeared onto Yusei's field and next to Stardust Knight. (Junk Stardust, attribute: WIND, type: Machine/Tuner, Level 2, ATK/DEF: 500. Yusei's's hand: 3 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 8.)

"A Level 2 Tuner. And with Stardust Knight now Level 6." Bruno remarked.

"Yusei can Synchro Summon a Level 8 Synchro monster!" Leo grinned.

"I tune my Level 2 Junk Stardust with my now Level 6 Stardust Knight!" Yusei announced as he raised his right arm upwards. Both monsters turned 8 white stars that soared into the green pillar of light. "The wishes come together to form a new shining star! Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Level 8! Soar, Stardust Dragon!" Out of the green pillar of light came forth the cosmic dragon. (Stardust Dragon, Level 8 WIND Dragon-type Synchro monster, ATK/DEF: 2500/2000. Yusei's's hand: 3 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 8.)

Aura watched on the TV, seeing Yusei Synchro Summoning as Beatrice appeared next to her. Both in the medic room where Jack and Akiza lay.

"He's getting good momentum. Hopefully he'll have a counter strategy against that thing." Beatrice remarked.

"It's Yusei. He'll win without a doubt." Aura replied. She then looked to Akiza and Jack, taking a deep breath. She held out her hand, letting her Aura slip out.

"Are you sure this is wise? You know what your curse is doing to you now." Beatrice frowned wearily.

"Curse. And being priestess has nothing to do with this." Aura replied sharply. "I do this for them because I want to and I care. That's all."

"...Aura don't…" Akiza mumbled, her eyes fluttering open. Both Aura and Beatrice grew wide eyed, shocked.

Shoot! Did she hear Beatrice?! Aura thought in a panic, quickly going to Akiza.

"You're awake…" Akiza glanced over at Aura and nodded.

"Yeah…..I am…" Akiza answered. "How's the duel going?" Aura blinked, glancing at the screen.

"Yusei just Synchro Summoned Stardust Dragon, along with a Synchro called Crystal Stardust." She told her.

"Crystal Stardust?" Akiza repeated before her lips formed a small smile. "Yusei just keeps evolving, doesn't he?"

"Heh. Yeah he does." Aura agreed, a small proud smile on her face.

"His never-ending evolving will ensure he wins." Akiza remarked as she sat up, only to wince in pain. "Urk…..!"

"Akiza! Lay back down." Aura gasped, gently pushing Akiza down on the bed. "You took a heavy crash. You can't move so suddenly."

"Watch her." Both of them heard Jack spoke as he too sat up. But like Akiza, he winced in pain. "Goddammit!"

"You lay down too!" Aura gasped, going over to Jack. "You're both badly hurt."

"Humph. I'd rather be out there supporting Yusei than be trapped in here." Jack remarked. "A little pain hasn't stopped us before." He glanced at Akiza and gave her a sly grin. "Right?"

"Right." Akiza agreed. Aura scowled before she sighed, putting out both her hands to let her Aura out once more.

"Fine. But you two will let me heal you enough to stand. And no complaints from either of you or so help me I'll have Martha and the Izinskis lecture you 2. And believe me, I will do it." She warned them, as her Aura gently wrapped around them both. However, Jack sprung up before her Aura could wrap fully around him, as did Akiza.

"No way!" Both Jack and Akiza shot.

"Besides, you should save your own energy." Akiza added. "Plus I'm a Psychic; I can heal myself."

"And I've been in too many fights in my younger years. My body will heal itself without your help." Jack added in.

"You guys are being too stubborn." Aura scowled. "Plus I'm fine unlike you 2. So you should just let me heal you." At her words, Jack gnashed his teeth and lifted Aura up by her shirt's collar.

"Enough of that bullshit!" Jack snapped. "Or do I need to call Halldor to knock some sense into you again?"

"Huh?" Aura grew wide eyed, shocked.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about Aura!" Jack continued angrily. "You said the same words after Akiza and Yusei defeated Primo some time ago! Have you learned nothing since then?!" She grew wide eyed, quickly shaking her head.

"It's not like that! At the time, I was mentally exhausted because I used my powers to have my monsters try to find Akiza. That was why I was weak at that time." She explained. Jack angrily tched, but didn't let go of Aura. In fact, his grip tightened. Akiza glanced between Aura and Jack.

"Jack please let Aura go." Akiza told the blonde carrot-head. Unfortunately, Jack ignored her words.

"...No Akiza." Jack retorted softly. He turned attention back to Aura. "Look, I get that you care about us and all, but in case you've forgotten, we Signers were doing just fine in the Dark Signer-Signer War before you showed up. Our battles were won without your help. And as much as I'm glad that you and Yusei are related, you're worse than me and Crow combined in terms of stubborness. You'd rather die instead of helping us against this threat. Am I right?"

"I didn't say I would die if I healed you." Aura frowned. "And I don't need you to remind me how useless I can be Jack."

"You're not useless Aura." Jack remarked before he let go and began to stride out of the medical room. "You just think you are because of your role as the Crimson Priestess. As for this Curse….. Ha…. Anyone with a brain can figure it out." Akiza was about to say something to Jack, but he had already left. Sighing, she turned to face Aura.

"Jack's just being Jack again." Akiza murmured. But Aura didn't seem to hear Akiza, only thinking to Jack mentioning Curse.

He heard her. They both did. They'll figure it out…! Aura thought, feeling her breathing nearly stop in a panic.

"Curse…." Akiza spoke to herself. "I originally thought my powers were a Curse because of Sayer. But because of Yusei, I've realized that my powers are a gift." She paused, then added. "Of course, my Curse is way different than yours. Yours is probably an actual Curse compared to a figurative one." Akiza then also began to leave the medical room, but stopped at the doorway. "...Anyone with a brain can figure out your Curse huh? Strange words to describe detective work. But I think I know what it is. Jack won't say because of his weird way of caring." Aura only looked at Akiza petrified; a hand to her neck.

"Crimson Priestess, Curse. The pieces are right there. The healing us? How could I have not seen it before?" Akiza continued as she left the medical room. Aura dropped to her knees, feeling her breath leave her.

"Aura!" Beatrice gasped. Aura felt the pressure around her neck as she fell to the ground; knocked out cold.

"I set 3 cards and end my turn." Yusei concluded. (Yusei's's hand: 0 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 4 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 8.)

"2 Synchros in 1 turn is impressive. However, in case you've forgotten, my Meklord eats Synchros for breakfast!" Aporia declared. "My turn! Draw!" (Yusei's's hand: 0 cards. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 5 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 9.) Aporia thrusted his right hand forward. "I activate Aes's effect! Now by sending 1 Meklord Emperor part from either my hand or Deck to the Graveyard, Aes's gains that part's effects! So by sending Skiel Attack 5 from my Deck to the Graveyard, Meklord Emperor Aes can attack you directly!" The Fusion Meklord glowed a bluish-green aura. Aporia then gestured to Aes "Now for Aes's effect! Now once during each of our turns, I can absorb 1 Synchro monster you control and gain its original ATK for Aes! So for this, I shall absorb your precious Stardust Dragon!" Green wires extended out of Aes and towards Stardust Dragon. The wires then snagged Stardust Dragon and began to pull him in.

"No! If Stardust Dragon is absorbed, then Meklord Emperor Aes's ATK will rise to 7000!" Luna gasped.

"Yusei's not gonna let that happen!" Crow replied.

"You're right Crow!" Yusei revealed. "I activate Crystal Stardust's effect! When a card or effect is activated that targets a card(s) on my field, I can Tribute this card to negate the activation and destroy the card! Crystallization!" Crystal Stardust roared before it formed a barrier around Stardust Dragon before it vanished from Yusei's field. The green wires bounced off of Stardust Dragon and back towards Aes. However…

"Yes if you were dealing with any other monster!" Aporia snapped. "By banishing Granel Guard from my Graveyard, Aes is not destroyed!" A barrier formed around Aes to protect himself. Aporia just chuckled in amusement. "You can struggle all you want Yusei Fudo, but it won't matter in the end! Due to Skiel Attack 5's effect still in effect, Aes's can attack you directly! Which I shall do so now! Meklord Emperor Aes, attack Yusei directly!" Aes raised his hands up and began to charge up an energy beam. "Fire!" And just like that, Aes's attack sped past Stardust Dragon and towards Yusei himself.

"No! If this attack connects-!" Leo began as he put his hands to his head.

"Yusei will lose!" Luna finished in panic. Just as the attack was about to connect, Yusei gestured to 1 of his set cards.

"I activate the Trap, Stardust Re-Spark!" Yusei announced. "Since your Special Summoned monster declared a direct attack has my LP amount or higher, I can negate your attack, then I draw 1 card!"

"Tch…..! Fine!" Aporia snapped as Yusei drew a card from his Deck. Afterwards, Yusei grabbed a card from his Extra Deck.

"Now come forth! Stardust Spark Dragon!" Yusei announced as the sparking version of Stardust Dragon appeared onto his field. (Stardust Spark Dragon, Level 8 LIGHT Dragon-type Synchro monster, ATK/DEF: 2500/2000. Yusei's's hand: 1 card. Yusei's LP: 4000. Aporia's hand: 5 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 9.)

"Another new Stardust?!" Leo gaped.

"Ha! Yusei is just surprising us all around!" Crow grinned.

"You could say that Crow!" Crow blinked, then he gaped to see Jack and Akiza speeding past their team's pit.

"J-Jack?! A-Akiza?!" Crow stuttered.

"I guess they're feeling better?" Leo muttered.

"Come on Yusei!" Akiza called out him. "You can do this!"

"Jack! Akiza! You 2 should be resting!" Yusei called out to them.

"Forget that mate!" Jack remarked.

"This duel is far more important than our own health!" Akiza added.

"Oh can he now?" Aporia chuckled as he revealed a card from his hand. "I activate the Trap Meklord Grand Plan from my hand! I can do this if I control a Meklord Extra Deck! Which I do! Thanks to this, my Meklord can attack all monsters you control once each! Then at the End Phase, if any of your monsters were destroyed by Meklord's attack, I can equip them to my Meklord!"

"What?!" Yusei gasped, his eyes widening. Aporia clenched his right hand and thrusted it forward.

"Now Meklord Emperor Aes attack Stardust Dragon!" Aporia declared. Aes raised his hands up before firing a beam of energy at Stardust Dragon.

"Yusei!" Leo and Luna yelled.

"I activate Spark Dragon's effect to protect Stardust Dragon!" Yusei countered. The energy beam hit; thus causing not only an explosion on Yusei's side of the field, but his D-Wheel spun out of control. He eventually regained control and sped forward. (Yusei's LP: 4000 - 2000 = 2000. Yusei's's hand: 1 card. Yusei's LP: 2000. Aporia's hand: 5 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 9.)

"So you protected Stardust Dragon." Aporia mused before he smirked. "But your Life Points weren't safe! Now to finish you in order to save the future! Meklord Emperor Aes, attack Stardust Spark Dragon!" Once again, an energy beam was fired from Aes's hands at Yusei's alternate Stardust Dragon-Stardust Spark Dragon.

"He can only use Spark Dragon's effect once per turn! If that attack hits!" Bruno gasped.

"Yusei will lose!" Leo panicked.

"I activate the Trap, Half Unbreak!" Yusei announced. "This halves the damage and protects Spark Dragon from destruction!"

"Ugh!" Aporia tsked. "Fine! But you still take 1000 damage!"

"I know." Yusei remarked as his LP fell to 1000. (Yusei's's hand: 1 card. Yusei's LP: 1000. Aporia's hand: 5 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 9.) Aporia grabbed 2 cards from his hand and set them.

"I end my turn with 3 face-downs." Aporia finished. (Yusei's's hand: 1 card. Yusei's LP: 1000. Aporia's hand: 2 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 9.)

"Since your turn is over, Crystal Stardust returns to the field!" Yusei revealed as the crystallized Stardust Dragon reappeared onto his field. Afterwards, he placed his right hand on top of his Deck. "I draw!" (Yusei's's hand: 2 cards. Yusei's LP: 1000. Aporia's hand: 2 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 10.)

"He managed to survive." Crow sighed in relief.

"I Special Summon Junk Stardust since I control a Stardust monster." Yusei spoke as the cosmic steed-like monster returned onto his field. "Next I Normal Summon Stardust Apparition to my field." A ghostly dragon spirit monster next Crystal Dragon. (Stardust Apparition, attribute: LIGHT, type: Fairy/Tuner, Level 2, ATK/DEF: 600/300. Yusei's's hand: 1 card. Yusei's LP: 1000. Aporia's hand: 2 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 10.)

"Humph! I activate the Trap Torrential Tribute!" Aporia announced. "Since a monster was Summoned, I can destroy all monsters on the field!"

"Not if I use Stardust Dragon's effect!" Yusei countered. "By Tributing him, Torrential Tribute is negated and destroyed!" Stardust Dragon roared as he vanished; thus Torrential Tribute shattered.

"Now Yusei only has Spark Dragon, Crystal Stardust, Junk Stardust, and Apparition." Bruno remarked.

"That's true Bruno, but I think Yusei's got something." Crow remarked.

"In that case, I activate Aes's ability!" Aporia declared. "So I shall be absorbing your Spark Dragon Yusei!" Green wires extended out of Aes to absorb the Synchro, however…

"I activate Crystal Dragon's effect to Tribute itself to negate Aes's effect!" Yusei countered as Crystal Stardust vanished from Yusei's field as well. Despite 2 of his cards being stopped, Aporia just smiled.

"Why thank you Yusei! You just sealed your own defeat!" Aporia grinned as he thrusted his right hand forward. "I activate the Trap card, Tribute Plunder!" The trap's artwork depicted that of sinking monsters in the ocean. "Now since monsters were Tributed, this card deals you 500 damage for each one! You Tributed 2 monsters, so you take 1000 damage!" The trap then fired a beam of energy at Yusei.

"Yusei!" They yelled in horror. The beam connected and caused an explosion on Yusei's field. When the smoke cleared, Yusei was smiling, his 1000 LP untouched.

"Sorry Aporia, but I activated the Continuous Trap, Synchro Charge Up! Now your effect damage is cancelled!" Yusei remarked.

"Clever." Aporia grunted before he grinned. "So what? Even if you use its additional effect right now, your Spark Dragon would be 500 points short! And in case you've forgotten, I still have 1 set card left!"

"That may be Aporia." Yusei agreed. "But I also have 1 set card left!" He looked at his field, then back at Aporia.

If I plan to save this City and stop that Divine Temple from descending, I have to win this turn. Yusei thought. But if this card in my hand, I can't beat him right now. What can I do? Suddenly, his Extra Deck began to glow a bright white. He gaped, then looked through it to see a new card. What in the world?! Is the bond with my friends the reason for this new card? Or is there more to it?

"What is that light?!" Leo covered his eyes from the brightness.

"I dunno!" Luna admitted. "A new power for certain! My Mark just vanished!"

"As did mine!" Crow gaped.

"Even ours too!" Both Akiza and Jack added as their Marks appeared on Yusei's back, in addition to his own.

"I know what I have to do now." Yusei spoke as he raised his right arm upwards! "I now Double Tune my Level 2 Stardust Apparition with my Level 2 Junk Stardust and Level 8 Stardust Spark Dragon!" All 3 monsters soared into the green pillar of light; there Levels combining to form Level 12.

"What's this?!" Aporia gasped. "I don't recall Yusei Fudo having the power to Double Tune!"

"I don't think any of us expected this either!" Crow, for once, agreeing with Aporia. Leo, Luna, Bruno, Akiza and Jack all nodded in agreement.

"This just goes to show that the future isn't set in stone!" Yusei retorted, a grin on his face. "Gathering sparks becomes thunder as fast as the wind. Become the path that lights the way! Synchro Summon! Descend before us! Level 12! Stardust Shine Dragon!" A white and bright-scaled dragon appeared onto Yusei's field. It roared at Aporia and his Meklord Emperor Aes. (Stardust Shine Dragon, attribute: WIND, type: Dragon/Synchro, Level 12, ATK/DEF: 3500/3000. Yusei's's hand: 1 card. Yusei's LP: 1000. Aporia's hand: 2 cards. Aporia's LP: 2200. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 10.)

"Amazing!" Jack grinned.

"Stardust Shine Dragon's effect!" Yusei announced. "Upon its Synchro Summon, I draw 1 card. However, if I used a Stardust, Warrior, or Synchron Synchro monster to Synchro Summon it, I can draw 2 cards instead. Which I shall do so now!" He drew 2 cards from his Deck. He grabbed another card from his hand. "Now I activate the Speed Spell - Monster Reborn! Since I have at least 10 Speed Counters, I can revive 1 monster from the Graveyard! And the monster I choose Stardust Dragon!" The cosmic dragon appeared onto Yusei's field. Afterwards, he gestured to Synchro Charge Up. "By sending this card to the Graveyard, Shine Dragon will gain 1500 ATK!" The Continuous Trap vanished from his field; thus Stardust Shine Dragon's ATK rose to 5000.

"Alright!" Leo grinned. "Now his monster has more ATK than Aporia's!"

"Battle!" Yusei declared. "Stardust Shine, attack Meklord Emperor Aes! Shine Flare!" The brilliant white dragon opened its mouth and blasted a beam of shining white energy at Aes. However…

"Not so fast Yusei!" Aporia revealed. "I activate my Trap, Meklord Barrage! Since you declared an attack while I control a Meklord, all your monsters are destroyed! Then they're equipped to my monster!"

"Not if I use Stardust Apparition's effect in the Graveyard!" Yusei countered. "By banishing her, my monsters are safe!"

"Tch! Fine!" Aporia growled as he took 500 damage. (Aporia's LP: 2200 - 500 = 1700. Yusei's's hand: 2 cards. Yusei's LP: 1000. Aporia's hand: 2 cards. Aporia's LP: 1700. Yusei/Aporia's SpC: 10.) "I banish Skiel Attack 5 from my Graveyard to protect my Aes's from destruction!" In response, Yusei grinned.

"Thanks." Yusei remarked. "Not like it matters too much because the duel is over anyway, but I now activate my final set card, Synchro Ring! Now Aporia, since Stardust Shine Dragon failed to destroy your monster, Shine Dragon's ATK is doubled and he gets to attack again."

"What?!" Aporia watched as Stardust Shine Dragon's ATK rose to 10,000. "Uh-oh…..!"

"Now battle again Shine Dragon!" Yusei announced. The dragon obey its Master's command, then fired another white beam of energy at Meklord Emperor Aes; thus causing an explosion and Aporia to scream as his massive D-Wheel lost control and spin right off the track and into the ocean. (Aporia's LP: 1700 - 5500 = 0.)

"W-Well! After a brutal and intense match the winners of the WRGP are Team 5Ds!" MC announced loudly, causing the audience to roar and cheer.

"Yes! We did it!" Akiza smiled.

"Nice going mate!" Jack grinned.

"Thanks." Yusei told them as the 3 of them approached their Teams' pit. After he got off his D-Wheel, he looked up at the sky to still see the Divine Temple.

We may have won the WRGP, but I fear that this is only the beginning. Yusei thought.
