Chapter 45
"Six months today Olivia , how are you feeling?" The OBGYN asked Her. "All good thanks". The doctor studied her . " Are you getting enough rest , how are things at home with Roman, how is he doing ?". Liv paused for a minute "This week has been bad , he is on the final round now before they give him a break and more tests to see if they got it, so I'm just praying". The doctor smiled at her " Just make sure you are looking after yourself too Olivia, he wants you and the baby to be healthy , told me that when he called here earlier". Olivia laughed in spite of herself. Of course he had done that. She took all the paperwork and the envelope from the doctor and made the follow up appointment at the front desk. It was a hot day when she left and the sun was really strong. She was wearing a blue coloured sundress that reached her ankles and her hair was twisted into beach waves. She really did look blooming and had that glow about her. As she drove back to the house she decided to pop in and get some lemonade , there was a little store that sold her favourite type. She got 2 bottles and then went back to the house. She pulled into the driveway and took a minute before opening the car door. She prayed that Roman would be feeling a bit better now by the time she got in. She got as far as the door when it was opened for her by a very excited JoJo. " What are you doing here honey?". She looked beyond the little girl to the balloons on the hallway. She allowed Jojo to take her hand and lead her into the kitchen area "surprise" she heard and turned to see all of Roman's family and some of the people from WWE standing there. But most importantly in the middle of the crowd and looking sick but happy was her amazing man.
"A baby shower" Roman's sister said by way of explanation. " it was his idea" she indicated her brother. Liv was trying to move her way through the room and get to him but had to stop and hug everyone along the way, especially those who had come from work. Time off with the WWE was precious. Eventually she got to him " You did all this?" She said wrapping her arms around his waist. " Hell no, my mom and sisters did all the catering . But it was my amazing idea so I guess I can take credit for it. How was the appointment?". He rubbed her belly " All went well . Speaking of surprises though , I got one for you". Roman looked at her for a minute "I like the sound of that, are we talking lingerie or what are we working with ?". Liv went to answer him but Roman grabbed her arm unexpectedly. " Shit , a wave of nausea . I'll be back". He left in the blink of an eye and she was left there alone. She hoped he would be ok. Not wanting to ruin the party, Liv mingled with the guests. She spoke to the Bella Twins and Nia who filled her in on the latest goings on, she had really missed the girls and life on the road and she wondered if she would ever get the opportunity to do it all again. As she walked around she looked at all the little gestures and the thought that had gone into the party. The cake was her favourite flavour , rocky road. The lemonade on the table was the one she had just stopped at the shop for. The only person who knew these little things were Roman and it touched her heart to see all the little touches he had insisted on. As she thought of him she scanned the party again and she was relieved to see him standing talking to Daniel Bryan , he looked a little pale but not too sick. She made her way through the party to him. "Here she is" Roman said seeing her approach and he opened his arm and folded her underneath. " You good?" She whispered to him. He nodded the answer , yes. Daniel smiled at them both " You guys are amazing , I'm sure it's so hard for you both right now. But seeing you standing here and looking at how happy you are its inspiring . Really man , we call you the locker room leader for a reason and this is exactly why". Liv looked up at Roman who she could see was getting a tad emotional. "Thanks Bro" was all he could get out . Daniel took the hint " I will leave you lot to it". He walked off and Roman looked at Olivia "I'm going to put that down to side effects from the treatment" he said by way of defense. She smiled at him " All of this is amazing, it's so thoughtful of you.". Roman put a hand on both of her hips "You deserve it baby honestly, now what was this earlier about a surprise". " Well wait no longer Reigns your suprise has arrived" a loud voice said and Roman turned in delight at the sight of Dean and Seth. All three embraced tightly.
The party was a success Roman and Liv got lots of presents for the baby but the greatest gift of all was having a day with family and friends where Roman could actually interact with them. For Liv seeing him laugh and smile was the best thing about the day. At about 5pm she could see Roman was beginning to fade and he was due his next set of meds. Discreetly his mom started to wrap the party up and the guests gave lots of hugs and kisses before they left. When they had all gone it was just Liv and Roman left surveying the mess. " Man I am beat" Liv said settling into the couch. Roman came into the room with a plate piled high " Is it normal to have a day where you have nausea and then want to eat everything in sight?" He asked as he sat next to her. "Yep, sounds about right. What are we eating?". She sat up and watched while Roman pretending to shield his plate with his body . " Taking food from a sick man thats the lowest of the low". Liv laughed out loud and put her head on his shoulder. "Ok , eat your cake then. Your poor pregnant girlfriend will just suffer on". She could feel him smile. Without saying a word he spooned a bite of cake into her mouth. " Hmm delicious" Liv said. Roman just nodded in response. She took a minute to sit back and look at him . " What?" He said smiling at her. " You look good Ro". She said it with a smile . " I feel good baby" he said in response. He took a moment to set down the plate. He then turned to her and took her face into his hands "Thanks fit being with me through all of this. It kept me going". Liv gazed into his eyes and then moved in and kissed his lips, gently first then more urgently. She wanted him so badly, since the illness she hadn't been on the agenda for them. And now at 6 months pregnant she felt so much bigger. Roman senses what she wanted and he pulled off his top. She looked at him for a minute he had list some tone and muscle but other than that he looked good. Damn good. "I'm big now, the belly I mean" she said between kisses. He stopped. " You are beautiful, pregnancy suits you ok. Now shut up and let me make love to you woman". And he did slowly and gently to avoid any concerns over the baby and he brought her to orgasm like he always did but this time it meant more. They lay entwined after , a protective hand on her belly , she stroked his arms and chest and enjoyed being naked with him. " We haven't laid naked like this since the night we conceived the baby" Liv said propping up on one elbow to look at him. " How times have changed" he observed. They lay like that for a while, in fact they were almost asleep when Roman said " Thanks for my surprise earlier, it was great to see Dean and Seth" . Liv jumped from the couch and squeaked before running out of the room. She left a naked Roman in the living room calling out in alarm. "What the fuck Olivia?" Roman said when she came back in."is the baby ok?". She looked sheepish " two apologies, first for freaking you out and second for almost forgetting this. But I blame the sex for the second one". She handed him an envelope. Roman said " What is it?". She smiled at him " the babies gender, they wrote it out. I thought it might cheer you up, I don't know what it is either". He smiled at her. "Come here let's do it together". She snuggled next to him and opened the envelope, they looked at the card. Liv looked at him "Looks like you were right all along baby, that's your boy in there" she said rubbing the bump. Roman couldn't speak and she saw tears form in his eyes. "A boy" he said in wonder. " I'm going to have a little boy" . They hugged.
