Emma was buzzing with nerves the night before the wedding. She went through her head to make sure that she had everything planned out. John Boy and Jim Bob were going to be attendents. Mary Ellen the maid of honour, and Erin and Elizabeth the bridesmaids.
John Boy had decided to stay with the boys in their room so Mary Ellen would have a room with John Curtis. So until Mary Ellen moved back with Curt once he got back from Pearl Harbour, which he was leaving for tomorrow, he was stuck with his younger brothers.
Emma knocked on the boys' door. "Ben?"
Jason answered, but Ben pushed past him, grinning. "Bye." Jason smiled before leaving the couple. Hand in hand, they ran down the stairs and sneaked outside. They stopped outside the shed.
"I'm very excited for the wedding." Emma said, placing a kiss on her fiancé's nose. "But also very nervous." One look with Ben told her that he was just as nervous.
"Tomorrow, we'll be in the same boat. We'll learn together." Ben said tenderly. Emma smiled before peeking into the shed. The only thing in it so far was a double bed they had chosen. How strange it would be to share a bed with the man she loved.
Emma groaned and pulled the blankets over her head. "You can't sleep. You're getting married in a few hours." Elizabeth grinned.
Emma soon dressed and walked out of the room. John Boy stood, watching her with an older brother gaze. "How's the blushing bride? Anything wrong?" When she was silent, he understood.
They walked into the bathroom. "Nothing's bothering me." Her eyes were downcast, and John Boy didn't believe her for one second.
"I know you, Emma Rose Davis," he replied, lifting her chin. "What's wrong? Are you having second thoughts?" Emma kept silent. "Do you love him?"
"With all my heart."
John Boy grinned. "You've got your answer." Emma laughed shakily before hugging her big brother.
The day progressed, and soon it was time for Emma and Ben to be wed. After she got dressed with the help of Olivia, Mary Ellen knocked on the door. "Everything's ready. It's time to go to the church." Mary Ellen studied her sister and smiled.
Emma grinned and looked around the room that was filled with so many memories. As her three sisters gathered at the door, she cast her gaze on John, who had just entered, and Olivia. "I want to thank you. Thank you for taking me in when I had no one else. I know how tough things were and you didn't have to do what you did. I hope my marriage to Ben is as happy as yours is." Olivia and John wrapped their arms around their daughter, and soon her sisters were in the embrace as well.
The boys joined Ben and the minister. Jason caught his father's eye, and started playing. Olivia and John walked down the aisle first. Jason then began a song and Mary Ellen begins the procession, followed by Erin and Elizabeth. The minister motioned for the audience to rise. John escorted his daughter down the aisle, and placed her hand in Ben's.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the sight of God to join this man, and this woman in holy matrimony. Not to be entered into lightly, holy matrimony should be entered into solemnly and with reverence and honor. Into this holy agreement these two persons come together to be joined. If any person here can show cause why these two people should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace. Marriage is a sacred union between husband and wife and shall remain unbroken. It is the basis of a stable and loving relationship and is a joining of two hearts, bodies and souls. The husband and wife are there to support one another and provide love and care in times of joy and times of adversity. We are all here today to witness the joining in wedded bliss of Ben and Emma. This joyous day celebrates the commitment and love with which Ben and Emma start their lives together. Through God, you are joined together in the most holy of bonds. Who gives this woman in holy matrimony to this man?"
"Her mother and I do." John answered, taking Olivia's hand.
"Do you, Benjamin Charles Walton, take Emma Rose to be your lawfully wedded wife and live together forever in the estate of holy matrimony? Do you promise to love, comfort, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
