Abby woke up with a headache and a bad taste in her mouth.

"What the …," she mumbled and had to spit out a stray strand of hair. With a groan, she washed down a hand over her face in an attempt to become more awake. She still had hair stuck to her face, looked like she had been drooling.

It took Abby a moment to notice that she was not lying in the by now familiar bed in Lydia's guest room. And that the person next to her was not Haley.

"Damn." Her head was not ready for such a realization.

"Morning to you as well," Lydia greeted her and Abby didn't even have to look at her to know that she was grinning like a cat at her misery.

"Do I dare to ask why I'm in your bed?" Abby slurred out the words in hope that Lydia would be able to decipher them. She should be, she was smart. And pretty.

"Thank you."

"I did say that out loud, didn't I?" Abby groaned and curled deeper under the covers. Maybe the bed would swallow her whole and put her out of her misery.

"Just for your information, we came home, we kissed, there was drunken groping and then you passed out." Lydia sounded way more put together than she should after last night. Abby hated her.

"We didn't?" Only with a delay, Lydia's words registered to her and she dared to poke out from under the covers. Lydia was lying on her side, watching her with a warm smile on her face.

"No," Lydia confirmed. "Which is good, we shouldn't have sex while we're drunk. At least not the first few times."

"What makes you think that there's going to be more than once?"

"So you're admitting that there will be at least one time?" Lydia's grin widened.

"I'm too hungover for this," Abby decided and let the blanket drop over her head again.

"Looks like I get first shower." Lydia patted her shoulder through the blanket before she left, presumably for said shower.

Abby rolled out of bed eventually, the promise of coffee lured her out but Lydia insisted on a shower first.

"And brush your teeth," Lydia yelled over her shoulder, already half-way to the kitchen to get the coffee going.

"Yeah, yeah." Abby slowly made her way over to the bathroom.

By the time she was sitting at the kitchen table, a cup of steaming coffee in her hand, she did feel more human again.

"I'm sorry," Abby said, the bits and pieces from last night slowly coming back to her. "I shouldn't have kissed you like that."

"I didn't mind the kissing. Or the groping." Lydia put her cup down and studied her. "But I meant it when I said that it's good that we didn't go farther. When we do this, I want us both sober and in full control."

"Sounds like something Stiles would say." Abby sighed into her coffee but she had to admit that Lydia was right.

"Between Stiles and Derek it's even more important," Lydia said but there was a shadow clouding her eyes for a second that told Abby that she was not just talking about the BDSM kind of relationship they were having. "But it's important for every kind of relationship."

"I know you have a point there but I'm hungover over here so I'm only getting half of what you're saying." Abby shook her head which she regretted instantly.

"Let me get you something for your head."

Lydia got her a painkiller but she insisted that she took it with something solid as well. Abby wasn't hungry but she nibbled on a slice of toast nevertheless. It did put her rebelling stomach at ease, though.

"I should pick up Haley." She felt more awake now but putting on shoes seemed like too much of an afford. And then she would have to drive over to Stiles'. Abby made a face.

"Give her another hour, bet she's still sleeping anyway." Lydia reached over and patted her forearm.

"Good point. What time is it anyway?"

It was past ten, way later than Abby was used to, but today she allowed herself the luxury of just sitting here, nursing her coffee and waiting for the pill to kick in.

Abby did drive over to pick up Haley eventually but by then it was almost noon. She hoped that Stiles was okay with that.

To her surprise, it was Josh who opened the door for her.

"Did something happen?" Her first thought was Rick so when Josh stepped aside to let her in, she rushed past him in search for Haley. Who was currently on the floor, playing with Jack. When Abby entered the room, Haley gave her a toothy grin but continued to rub Jack's belly.

"Stiles isn't feeling well." Josh came up behind her. "He called me over yesterday. At first, I was just supposed to walk Jack but then he got so bad that he had to lie down. So I stayed until Derek came home. He took over for the night but he had to leave early because of his job. He said that he would be back as soon as possible." The way he was glancing at the closed bedroom door, Abby couldn't help but wonder how bad Stiles was feeling.

"He could have called me, I would have picked up Haley." Now she felt twice as bad. Not only had she put Stiles on babysitting duty without even asking him first, okay that had been Lydia's idea but still, and then she was out partying while Stiles had been so ill that he had to call Josh.

"It's not your fault," Josh assured her. "Derek said that Stiles has bad days from time to time, it happens."

Abby wasn't convinced but there was not much she could do about it. So she just urged Haley to pack her things. The best thing she could do was to leave and give Stiles time to recover. It did feel strange, though, when Josh was seeing her out.

"Tell him I owe him one." By now it was way more than just one she owed him which didn't make it better.

"Did you have fun?" Abby asked when they were in the car to which Haley nodded enthusiastically. Abby expected a detailed report once they were back at Lydia's place where she could read the messages on Haley's phone and didn't have to keep her eyes on the road. The way Haley was fidgeting in her seat, she was bursting to tell her everything.

The evening had not gone as expected, that much was for sure but Abby hoped that it hadn't been as bad as she was picturing it in her head now. Stiles had been fine when she'd dropped off Haley. How had he fallen ill this quickly? She was pretty sure that he wouldn't have called Josh if it hadn't been really bad.

When they entered Lydia's apartment it took her one look at them to ask: "What?"

As if she'd only waited for that question, Haley was already rapidly typing on her phone.

Stiles couldn't move and almost fell out of his chair. Haley showed the message to Abby first but held her phone out for Lydia to read it was well. And I think he pooped himself

Abby choked at that information. Surely Haley was exaggerating, Stiles didn't have an accident like that. On the other hand, she didn't know how well everything down there was working. She had never thought about it before and she didn't want to think about it now. Derek hadn't been complaining so she had just assumed that Stiles' nether regions were working just fine.

"He didn't …," Abby started but was cut off by Lydia.

"It happens," she confirmed. They were still standing in the hallway but with one jerk of her head, Lydia ushered them into the living room. She sat down on the couch and patted the spot next to her for Haley to take a seat as well. "You know, when Stiles was in that accident, he got injured very badly."

Haley nodded to that, it was kind of obvious with him sitting in a wheelchair.

"But he didn't just hurt his legs, the nerves in his lower back were damaged too," Lydia explained. "Those nerves control the bladder and everything else down there. Sometimes he just can't help it."

Haley thought about that for a moment before she typed something.

"He does." Lydia nodded. "When he leaves the house or if he's not feeling well, he does wear a diaper."

That was something Abby didn't want to hear but she got that Lydia wanted to make it clear to Haley that Stiles might have pooped his pants as she had put it but that it was nothing to joke about. Judging by the serious expression on Haley's face, it got through to her.

She typed some more, now worrying her lip while she was typing.

"Yes, I heard a hot bath helps him. I'm glad that Derek was there to take care of him." She gave Haley a reassuring smile but Abby couldn't help but wonder for how long Stiles had been suffering alone while Josh and Haley had been watching Hercules.

"Don't worry, most of the time it's one day and then he's back to his old self." Lydia managed to sound convincing enough for Abby to believe it but she would have a real talk with Lydia when Haley was not in earshot.

"Enough of that." Lydia ruffled Haley's hair which got her a giggle. "What do you want to do today?"

Since it was Sunday and neither of them had to work, they made it a lazy day. Abby borrowed a book from Lydia's shelf and made herself comfortable on the couch while Haley was alternating between playing with Prada and doing stuff on her phone, she even got her drawing materials out but that brought Stiles back to her mind and she abandoned that quickly.

Lydia was on her laptop and Abby couldn't tell if she was working or doing things for fun but it felt nice, almost domestic. Each of them was quietly doing their own thing and they were just enjoying each other's company. There was no need to fill the silence and Abby let herself get engrossed in the book she was reading.

However, when around five Lydia's phone beeped with a new message from Derek, telling them that he was back home and that Stiles was feeling much better, they all breathed easier. The fact that Stiles hadn't been well had hung over them like a cloud. Lydia had been the most relaxed, she was familiar with Stiles' bad days but it was new to Abby and Haley. Abby couldn't help but wonder if she'd made it worse by dumping Haley on him. Thinking back, he hadn't looked that good when she had dropped off Haley.

"See? No need to worry." Lydia showed Haley something on her phone that made her giggle.

After Haley had her fill, Lyda showed Abby the picture as well.

Stiles was in bed with his hair sticking out in all directions and he was scrunching his face, clearly not in the mood for a picture. But he was sitting upright with his back propped up against the headboard and there was a tray next to him with a plate of sandwiches, snacks and what looked like a pitcher with juice.

The picture was titled: princess is having a late breakfast in bed

Lydia typed an answer and a second later Derek answered back. They went back and forth for a little while and Abby figured that if Derek had time to text with Lydia, Stiles couldn't be off that bad.

But with that out of the way, Abby could truly indulge in her book and the next time she looked up, Lydia was already in the middle of making dinner.

"Where's ...?" Abby sat up straighter when she couldn't immediately spot her daughter but then she caught sight of her lying on the floor.

Haley had her phone in one hand and her other arm slung around Prada, girl and dog both fast asleep. Abby shook her head at that sight but then she got her phone out and snapped a photo

Somebody is cheating on Jack, she titled it and sent it over to Derek. Not long ago he had sent her a similar picture, looked like sleeping on the floor with a dog was a thing now.
