Kagome won't stay mad for long. She will realize why Touga is acting the way he is, so don't think that their relationship is going to fall apart. I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Chapter 37
Kagome laid on Touga's chest, her breathing deep as she relaxed against him. She was mated now. Something she never thought she would have. After Kouga had tried to force a mating on her, she never wanted one anyway.
Touga was different. He was kind and loving. He respected her boundaries, giving her the time and space she needed, and waited patiently. He was worth it. Giving him her heart, body, and now soul would never be a mistake.
Touga's arm wrapped around her waist, holding her against him. She was still laying on top of him after their mating, but he didn't seem to want her to leave. She was perfectly okay with that, more than fine with staying right there. She didn't think she could move anyway.
"A mark is forming where my fangs punctured you." He ran his fingers over her shoulder. "It matches my crest on my cheeks. I think it is perfect."
Kagome turned her head, moving her arm so she could rest her chin on it and look at him. "Is it normal for males to get marks?" She looked to his chest, just over his heart. There, forming a little more with every beat of his organ, was a pink sun.
"No. You are just special." He smirked, looking to his chest. The skin tingled as her mark formed, and he couldn't find any part of him that was upset. Not that he even looked. Their auras would match, and now they both carried proof of their mating.
Males normally did not get marked. It was their nature to possess the female, claim them as their own, and be the alpha. Touga had no problems having Kagome mark him in return. He actually preferred it. He wanted Kagome to claim him, just as he had claimed her. She was his equal, the one he wanted to stand by his side, not behind him. She would always be his perfect and beautiful little mate.
"I should apologize, Kagome. When I was angry, I made comments in front of the others. No matter what is happening between us, it is our business alone. I-"
She stopped him, kissing along his chest until her mouth covered his. Sitting up, they both groaned as they remembered that his member was still pressed deep within her. His hands laid on her thighs, his eyes looking over her body hungrily.
"Let's put all of that behind us. We had our first argument. We talked it through and mated. We are okay and bringing it up again is a moot point." She smiled down at him, and he leaned up pressing his chest against hers and wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Too true, My Love." Mouth ghosting over her neck, he felt himself swelling inside of her. "Now, I think it is time we celebrate our mating. Then, maybe we can celebrate us, celebrating out mating. That seems like a good plan to me."
He turned them so she was beneath him, his mouth still moving over her heated skin. She laughed happily, the sound as erotic as any of her moans that he had heard. "We're not going to sleep at all are we?" Her hands were on his shoulders, her loving eyes meeting his mischievous ones.
"Not at all."
…...
"This was a good idea." Kagome watched Souta and InuYasha run off towards the animals. She and Touga had brought them to a petting zoo. It had just opened up not too long ago, and both boys had been begging to go.
"It does appear that they are enjoying themselves." He looked down at her, bringing her hand up to his mouth so he could kiss it. The shining of a diamond ring once again caught Kagome's eye and she blushed with a soft smile.
Touga and Kagome were mated. They were married in the demonic world, but not the human one. He wanted to change that. He wanted them to belong to each other in every way, so he sat her down and ask if she would marry him in the human world as well.
She, of course, said yes.
That morning, he had taken her out, let her pick a ring, and then went to the courthouse to marry. She hadn't wanted a wedding, though he did offer it. She claimed it was too much hassle and money when they were already tied to each other anyway.
Still, he wanted the day they married to be as special as it could be, so he told her she could ask for something, anything and he would give it to her. Imagine his surprise when she asked to spend time with the boys as a family.
For all of one second, he was shocked, but then he remembered that his mate cared more about the bonds built with people than any material item. She would give up all of her possessions to save her friendships. It was another reason he loved her.
"I do believe Sesshomaru and Rin are mating. He seemed all too happy not to spend the day babysitting." It was a long time coming. Touga had expected the two to mate a long time ago. He honestly suspected Sesshomaru was waiting until Touga and Kagome got things worked out. After all, the two started off on a very rocky ledge.
Kagome gasped, looking at him with excitement. "Really? That would be amazing!" She clapped her hands together, nearly jumping up and down. "I'm so happy for them. Is there any way you can know for sure?"
"I could always text and ask?" He pulled out his phone, but Kagome quickly snatched it away, holding it to her chest.
"No! If you interrupt them, it could ruin everything." She paused, thinking for a moment before she once more looked up to him. "Do you think we should get a hotel tonight? They may want their privacy."
"I think the house is big enough that we will have no worries about running into them." Touga chuckled, placing a hand on her lower back so he could lead her towards the children. They were moving on from the llamas and going towards the pigs. He probably should have thought of the smell with his sensitive nose, but at least the kids were having fun.
"That is true." Kagome smiled brightly, a thought crossing her mind. "Rin has always wanted a baby. I bet they don't waste any time having one. Could you imagine if Rin and Sango ended up pregnant at the same time."
"That would be a sight to see." Finding a bench, Touga sat down, motioning for Kagome to sit beside him. She was still going on about Rin and Sango being pregnant at the same time, and he listened to every word while keeping his senses trained on the children.
"What would really be amazing is if I ended up pregnant as well. All three of us best friends, having babies together."
Kagome was so engrossed in the thought of raising kids with her best friends that she didn't notice the way Touga tensed. He wasn't looking at her, but instead the ground. His hands were gripping his legs tightly, and he swallowed.
Babies.
That was something they had never talked about. They probably should have, especially now that she was hyping herself up about the future. The future she saw included children, and he hated that he was about to burst that for her. He didn't want kids. He would never get Kagome pregnant.
When he married Izayoi, they had both desired to have a baby. They had tried for years, and she never conceived. When she did, they had both been ecstatic. She followed every single rule. Ate healthily, exercised, drank so much water he thought she would turn into a fish and made sure she did everything the doctor said. She never missed an appointment.
It still wasn't enough.
She sang to the twins. They talked about names, though they had agreed to wait before they picked any. She helped set up a nursery, or at least supervised while he set it up. The twins had been their future. They had wanted a baby, finally conceived and then Izayoi and his daughter died.
He lost them both, and he hadn't been able to do anything to stop it.
He would not risk Kagome. He would not get her pregnant.
He had to tell her. "Kagome." He waited until she looked at him, hating himself because he knew he was about to ruin the smile that lit up her face. "I don't want any more children."
"What." Her voice was soft, her eyes wide. That hadn't been what she expected him to say at all. He had never mentioned wanting kids, but she had just thought it hadn't come up, she had never realized the truth. "Why?"
"I have enough already." He wasn't going to tell her the truth. Not this time. She wouldn't understand, would claim that she wasn't Izayoi and there wasn't a guarantee that she would die as well. He knew that. He knew Kagome could come out of having a baby just fine. However, he wasn't willing to chance it.
"But… Sesshomaru is grown. InuYasha may be young, but he won't be forever." Her eyes were pleading and he had to look away from them. Still, she spoke, driving his self-loathing through his heart like a knife. "What about me? I don't have any kids. I love babies, you know that and I wanted to raise my own."
"InuYasha is yours as much as he is mine. He even thinks of you as his mother. As far as babies go, I am sure Sango and Rin wouldn't mind letting you babysit time from time. Plus, you have your job at the daycare. You have plenty of time to play with children." He was an ass. He knew it, but he couldn't stop himself. He couldn't let Kagome keep thinking that babies were in their future.
"That's not the same, and you know it." She looked away, blinking to try and keep her tears at bay. "I wish you would have said something before. I could have been more prepared." She stood, still not looking at him. "I am going to check on the boys."
He watched her go, closing his eyes as his heart hurt. He was an idiot. He had let fear rule him before when he and Kagome first met. For so long, he refused to acknowledge the attraction he felt for her. She nearly died because of it.
Now he was doing it again. The difference this time was she was already mated to him. She was mad now, but eventually, she would come to understand. At least he hoped. He could only hope that in the future she would forgive him for both not giving her a baby and ruining their wedding day all in one go. He sure knew how to mess things up.
