Chapter 48
Lucifer landed right outside the pearly gates of heaven, and what his eyes beheld was from a horror scene, He saw blood stained corpses of all sorts all over the fields and floating on the streams, he took a few steps past the gates and looked ahead at the city scape and on top of a massive hill there was a temple where his father once held his throne, now he just knew that his mother was there... waiting for him.
He allowed the fire surrounding his head to go out and he took off the mask and put it within the confines of his uniform, no need to be a superhero here, As he walked forward the sights were not good, they were horrific, dead soldiers and monsters from mothers army, dead angels from the lower garrisons, all of which laid on the ground dead, Lucifer wasn't even sure if any of their souls were still intact, they were killed in heaven, where would a soul go from that point.
Lucifer walked toward the Silver city with focus in his eyes, he had to have a conversation with his bloody mother and try and find a solution to this whole mess, he was losing ground back on earth, he couldn't fix it all by himself.
As he walked he heard a faint voice, a female voice, it was faint but he could definitely hear it, he stopped and looked around trying to figure out where it was coming from.
"Saam... Samael... why... re... are you... hear" said the voice and Lucifer heard it and as he looked around he saw laying in a field a few dozen feet away a woman with long dark hair past her shoulders, she was on the ground in pain and Lucifer recognized her right away.
"Remiel..." Lucifer then ran towards his younger sister and reached her quickly, he got down on his knees to check her injuries and saw that she had a massive wound in her midsection, she had been stabbed and left to die, no doubt a casualtly of this bloody awful war.
"Don't talk sister... don't use any energy right now" Lucifer then applied a feather to the rather large wound, and it glowed a familiar healing glow and the injury was soon healed up, Lucifer then helped Remiel to stand.
"Thank you Samael" Remiel said feeling grateful to her older brother, the lightbringer, she then gave Lucifer a hug, Lucifer felt very odd and didn't know what to do, so he just held his hands out to his sides and allowed his sister to hug him. "You didn't answer my question Samael, why are you here, it's not safe, mother attacked us with a massive army, I thought father made you the champion of the earth, why are you back here?"
"Yes Remiel, it's true I am a champion now, but remember my name is no longer Samael, it's Lucifer"
"Your name is Samael, not all of us hate you like you think we do Samael, It was just to awkward to ever speak about you after the rebellion"
"Yes it was much easier to completely forget about about me and blame all evil on me... piece of cake really" Lucifer said feeling old bitter feelings creep in.
"Your big fight with dad split the family Lucifer, there were some that agreed with you but they agreed with you in silence out of fear, fear that they would fall like you had, others had agreed with father, believed that you deserved your punishment and that you were wrong about us having free will, but it was never the same up here after your fall, it wasn't long after that father kicked mom out and sent her to hell" Remiel looked wistful thinking about the family before the pain.
"I'm not here to talk about any of that Remiel, i'm here to confront mother and bloody well figure things out, things can't go on as they are now" Lucifer replied not wanting to reminisce about family.
"LOOK AROUND YOU SAMAEL" Remiel cried out as tears flowed down her face "What is there to figure out, Michael invaded mothers universe, Mother responded by starting a war, and now everythings been destroyed... look around at the destruction, this is supposed to be paradise, but it isn't anymore...it's...it's"
"Like hell" the words coming from a familiar voice, that landed right in front of Lucifer and Remiel "I think Hell is the word you were looking for" and with those words Lucifer and Remiel stood face to face with Samantha and the rest of the dopplegangers who had her back.
"You... you evil monster" Remiel hissing her words at Samantha "you murdered innocent defenseless angels just for your own amusement".
Samantha laughed along with the other dopplegangers who stood there smiling, doppleganger Maze then spoke "Look bitch, it's a war, and they weren't innocent, they were soldiers in a war and had to be removed from the game".
"THEY WERE LOWER GARRISON ANGELS, THEY WERE JUST STANDING GUARD TO PROTECT THE HUMAN SOULS, THEY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO FIGHT" Remiel screamed.
"And not knowing how to fight made it really easy for us to kill them" doppleganger Amenadiel said laughing at the anger and tears coming from Remiel.
Remiel was filled with rage, these monsters had killed the angels protecting the human souls, slaughtered them while laughing like it was fun, she was so furious and filled with hate, but before she could attack, she felt herself being teleported away, Lucifer had put his hand on her back with a feather, and used it to teleport her away, Lucifer would send her to be with father and Yeshua, hopefully Azrael would still be there as well, this was no place for Remiel.
Lucifer was now there alone on a field in heaven surrounded by all the dopplegangers of the people he knew back in L.A, Chloe, Maze, Amenadiel, Linda, Ella, Daniel... and even Trixie.
"Well would you look at this, it's the mighty champion himself... Lucifer Morningstar" Samantha arrogantly said.
"Yes the mighty champion that left to go save the world... and allowed us to terrorize his friends and his team" Doppleganger Maze said evilly and with a vicious smirk
"I guess we know who the real douche is now don't we Lucifer" Doppleganger Dan said cutting in with an evil grin.
"How was is being in love with Chloe and watching her fall for someone else, marrying him, loving him, the hand holding in the precinct, what about them having sex in the evidence room, and the supply closets" Doppleganger Ella taunted as she laughed.
"Face it Lucifer you treated all of us horribly when you were in L.A, you deserve to be abandoned and alone, you were always so selfish and self centered, it doesn't matter if you call yourself a champion, cause you'll always be evil deep down and you know it" the doppleganger of Amenadiel taunted
"I Hate you Lucifer, I'm happy mommy married Marcus" Doppleganger Trixie said with a stoic evil glare
"You know what we learned Lucifer hmmmm. through all those therapy sessions together... the one thing we learned is that no matter what... You Will Always Be A Monster" Doppleganger Linda sadistically said trying to taunt Lucifer.
The dopplegangers would remain loyal to the goddess, they wouldn't let Lucifer get to her and talk to her, not unless the goddess herself wanted it, they conquered heaven and invaded other realms for the goddess and they knew all of Lucifer's weaknesses and they would destroy him if need be.
Lucifer stared at the dopplegangers his anger and hatred reaching a boiling point, he could slaughter them easily, but if he slaughtered them he would prove them right, and he was supposed to be a champion now, if he proved them right that he was a monster then what would it mean going forward but at the same time he wanted to hurt them, he wanted... them to suffer, it was then that golden light surrounded all of them, and when it dissipated there stood the goddess, his mother inside the body of Charlotte Richards.
Lucifer and 'Charlotte' looked each other in the eyes and the goddess spoke first
"I know why you come to speak to me my son, and I know what it is you want of me, and I will grant it, I will grant all of it, I will let the human souls back into heaven, I will let the lower angels back into heaven, I will even make Charlottle Richards a new body and allow her to go back down to earth and be with Daniel I will allow peace on earth again... but only on one condition son"
"What is your one condition mother?" Lucifer calmly said as he stared back into his mothers eyes
All the dopplegangers stared into the helpless eyes of Lucifer knowing he had now been conqueured and that their loyalty to the goddess would be rewarded for eternity, it wouldnt.
"I want you to kill these dopplegangers with your bare hands" the goddess said smiling at the dopplegangers, she then looked at her son "I want you to kill them using your anger and hatred, kill them not as a champion, but as the devil, sacrifice your morality for the greater good of everyone else, the anger you feel when you kill them will be fueled by the anger you have at the real ones for feeling that they abandoned you, and that will bring you one step closer my son to being not your fathers champion... but my champion".
